I had a long day. Not uber-bad long, just long. To start with, I could not sleep for the life of me last night. It was freezing cold in my mom’s bedroom and I couldn’t get warm and my mom kept moving around and making noise and blah.

So I bribed my mom, offering to buy anything else her heart desired that wasn’t donuts. I started listing off fast food places in the area. I was frantic at this point. My mom kept insisting on donuts. I don’t know why it scared me so much. Finally, she agreed to Burger King.

At Burger King, I convinced my mom to ask for a crown for me. I wore it into Wal-Mart. I enjoyed that. At least, while I was with my mom. For most of our store time, we walked together and talked. At one point, however, she left to find my brother while I went on the hunt for a store employee to ask about a vaccum cleaner. Somehow, walking alone, I didn’t feel so confident and just felt silly with the BK crown on my head. It also occured to me it was like a sign saying “I just ate at Burger King” regardless of whether I had.

Then we went to my apartment to drop stuff off and headed to my parents’ where I would wait for my doctor’s appointment. I forgot the phone charger I had just bought in one of the bags at my apartment so we went back to my place to get it. Then, my sister and I ate Taco Bell, which I purged. Then the same sister had to suddenly leave to pick up aforementioned brother, so I thought I was going to be late for my doctor’s appointment.

Just as I finished purging, the sister who lives there arrived home from school and asked if I needed a ride. So I went to the doctor, had my stitches removed, went home, left my water mug from the hospital in her car, tried and failed to get expansion packs for a PC game to work, and then it happened.

It gushed all over my kahki pants and the towel I grabbed from the bathroom. I called the doctor, he was on his way to surgery, asked me to come in tomorrow. Chapter 21: Project Delayed due to Exploding Ear

Sometimes it seems that life just slaps you upside the head with a two-by-four.

Christmas Eve my sinuses got all stuffed up, and so did my ear. I thought I was OK and didn’t worry about it much. Late at night it starting hurting. By Christmas morning I was rocking, moaning and holding my head in my hands in pain with blood oozing out my ear. The family was fairly unanimous that this was not a good sign, and I was off to the ER. I was diagnosed with a raging infection and ruptured eardrum, and have been out of commission since. No landscaping for the last week, or likely for the next week or two. So much for the productive vacation plans. I haven’t even had the energy to play with my kids on the new Wii.

On the bright side, I have watched about 198 hours of college football, which I enjoy though I still want a playoff system. I guess this is God’s way of telling me that vacation is supposed to be for laying on the couch watching TV, not attacking a list of ambitious projects, and like it or not that is what I am going to do even if God has to get me all woozy with prescription narcotics to get me to do it.

Ow. OK, God, I’ll go back to the couch and turn the TV on again.

I apologize, I missed about a week in between the second to last photo and the most current photo. It wasn’t a very eventful week though, the area scabbed, and this week it started to peel. There is no pain anymore, and the area is completley scabbed, and there is no oozing of any kind this or last week. The area itches. I cant really tell how faded the tattoo has become, but I’m anxious to see the results. I don’t think the area is going to be a huge scar, its healing up pretty nicely, so we’ll just have see.

The SD Watch posted a link to my blog about the post I published yesterday about their post about my eczema. Does that make sense? LOL! Anyhow, you can read their update to my update here.

I will say that they were wrong about “hating the itching” and “not minding the swelling” though… I think it’s the other way around for me. My left-hand pinkie and ring finger are so swollen that I can barely move them. Ouch! The swelling, at least in my case, is much worse than the itching.

They also mentioned that they were hoping for pics, so I provided them with a link to my family blog (in the comments section), where I had posted a few days earlier with some nice, “oozey” pics for them to enjoy.

Oh, the things I have seen. We both went camping and put up tents, and by camping, I mean to a hotel and by tents I mean each other… nevermind.

Tommy sent me a picture of his knees. They were quite nice but a bit too mainstream for my liking. I prefer ones in streams or ponds. He was paddling.

He seems to be having some problems with his genitals. I don’t know quite what exactly but as far as I can tell, there is some sort of oozing. He keeps disappearing to the toilet. He claims he is filling up his bottle but I think he’s more likely changing a bandage or something. If he is filling a bottle, it’s a sample for the doctors. One thing I know for certain is; Tommy did not catch anything from me.

Oh my god. This just in: Tommy has syphilis! It’s in his ears and everything! We’re getting him some new filters for his dehumidifier. That should do the trick.
