One of the great things about attending a university is that a student has many chances to get exposed to job opportunity from lots of firms and companies in the local area and even nationwide.

At SDSU, there is once or twice per semester that we have a job fair where several companies come to school, taking resume from students and eventually calling them for interviews and then offering them the actual job (part time, internship or even full time).

Last week there was one job fair at SDSU and I came to give out my resume. There were some well-known companies like Jack in The Box, Souplantation, Seaworld, Vector-Cutco, etc that came.

I strongly believe that this is such a great opportunity for all students to take advantage of. Spending less than an hour but you might have a chance of getting a job that you really want! So, don’t miss out this opportunity at school.

Today is December 1st. There are 24 more shopping days until Christmas. I know this (and tax time) is probably the number one time of the year where we all wished we had a few extra bucks in our pocket. Christmas can be a chaotic time, but I would like to offer you an out. With a game plan the holidays don’t have to be so daunting, AND we can put a few bucks back in your pocket to kick off 2010 the right way!

First and foremost I want to get you into the pay plan. What pay plan is that? It is one that I am almost assured you are already a part of, you just happen to be on the paying side instead of the getting paid side. I want to change that for you. I can turn your cell phone, tv, internet, and other monthly services into a source of income for you.

I replaced my 40 hour a week income in about a months time. Take a moment and dwell on that thought. Even if I was making minimum wage (which I wasn’t) that is an extra $1,368 a month (before taxes of course). Do you see the earning power of this system yet? What could you do with an extra $1,368 a month? Pay off Christmas debt? Start the year with a vacation? Start a new car fund? Plan a New Years party… somewhere other than the living room.

You don’t have to quit your job, forfeit your retirement, put in 40, 30, 20 or even 15 hours a week. You can, but you don’t have to. Now I know what you are thinking, “momma always said, if its too good to be true, it probably is.” That might be true if we are talking about paying $1,500 for a 2009 Cadillac, but we’re talking about taking advantage of timing. Ground floor is always the best place to be. Well here is your chance.

Think back, knowing what you know now, would you take a ground floor opportunity with Microsoft, Google, or any other big company for that matter? Duh. If you choose to take advantage of the opportunity and timing, I really don’t see a way that you wont be successful (unless you choose to do ABSOLUTELY NOTHING). All you would be doing is what you are already doing to maybe get an extra $50 discount from a cell phone company or tv provider already. And you don’t even have to change who you use.

Don’t take my word for it. Go talk to my parents, my brothers, friends. Ask them if they’ve made money. If you know my family on any level, you will know that they are a little conservative, especially with their money. They are not risk takers on any level. My mother, the most conservative of them all, is my best performer. So let’s recap. You don’t have to sell anything. You don’t have to buy anything that you probably don’t already buy. You don’t have to be a marketing major from a 4 year university. You don’t have to have any previous experience. You don’t have to put in full time hours (we’re talking 5-10 hours a week, most likely closer to 5). You could earn an extra paycheck a month. Oh, and I’m going to work with you one on one and give you the tools and advice (probably do some work for you too) to succeed with this opportunity.

There will be another opportunity to take a full look at the business model and get questions answered on December 3rd at 7:00pm at the Holiday Inn Express conference room located at 730 NW Liberty Place Chehalis Wa 98532 in the Liberty Plaza off I-5 at exit 77. If you can’t make that meeting and you would like to set up a one on one meeting with me, I’d be glad to meet you anytime. Please contact me and we can get something set up. You can reach me by email at fhtmbuss@gmail.com or by phone 360.623.0773.

I look forward to meeting you.

FREE WILL ASTROLOGY
December
© Copyright 2009 Rob Brezsny

ARIES (March 21-April 19): When Carolee Schneeman was a kid, her extravagant adoration of nature earned her the nickname “mad pantheist.” Later, during her career as a visual artist, she described her relationship with the world this way: “I assume the senses crave sources of maximum information, that the eye benefits by exercise, stretch, and expansion towards materials of complexity and substance.” I hope that you’re attracted to that perspective right now, Aries. To be in most productive alignment with the cosmic rhythms, you should be in a state of nearly ecstatic openness, hungry to be stretched — like a mad pantheist.

TAURUS (April 20-May 20): “Dear Rob: Last night my son and I were star-gazing. When we focused on the constellation Cassiopeia, an owl started hooting. Then a brilliant shooting star zipped by as a huge bat flew right over our heads. Was this a bad omen? Bats are creepy — associated with vampires. And in Greek mythology Cassiopeia got divine punishment because she bragged that she and her daughter were more beautiful than the sea god’s daughters. But I don’t know, maybe this blast of odd events was a good omen. Owls are symbols of wisdom and shooting stars are lucky, right? What do you think? Are we blessed or cursed? -Spooked Taurus.” Dear Spooked: The question of whether it’s good or bad luck is irrelevant. Here’s what’s important: You Tauruses are in a phase when the hidden workings of things will be shown to you — the mysterious magic that’s always bubbling below the surface but that is usually not visible.

GEMINI (May 21-June 20): The weeks ahead will be a ripe time to pull off magic reversals. May I suggest that you try to transform dishwater greys into sparkling golds? Or how about recycling the dead energy of a lost cause in such a way as to generate raw fuel for a fresh start? I’m confident, Gemini, that you’ll be able to discover treasure hidden in the trash, and that you’ll find a way to unleash the creative zeal that has been trapped inside polite numbness. Now ponder this riddle, please: Do you think there’s any mystical significance in the fact that the word “stressed” is “desserts” spelled backwards?

CANCER (June 21-July 22): Lately you remind me of the person Robert Hass describes in his poem “Time and Materials”: “someone falling down and getting up and running and falling and getting up.” I’m sending you my compassion for the times you fall down, and my admiration for the times you get up, and my excitement for the times you run. It has probably become clear to you by now that the falling down isn’t a shameful thing to be cursed, but rather is an instrumental part of the learning process that is teaching you marvelous secrets about getting back up and running.

LEO (July 23-Aug. 22): “I burn for no reason, like a lantern in daylight,” writes poet Joseph Lease. I think that’s a succinct formulation of one of your central issues, Leo. Burning for no reason, like a lantern in the daylight, can be the cause of either failure or success for you, depending on subtle differences of emphasis. This is how it can be failure: When you’re mindlessly and wastefully burning through your prodigious reserves of fuel without any concern for the benefits it may provide you and others. This is how it can be success: When you are exuberant and self-disciplined in shining your light and radiating your warmth just because it feels so good and so right and so healthy, and without any thought about whether it’s “useful” to anyone.

VIRGO (Aug. 23-Sept. 22): In one of his short poems, John Averill (twitter.com/wiremesa) describes a scene that I think captures the essence of your current astrological omens: “Today is the day of the photo of moonrise over Havana in a book on a shelf in the snowbound cabin.” Here’s a clue about what it means: The snowbound cabin is where you are right now in your life. The moonrise over Havana is where you could be early in 2010. How do you get there from here?

LIBRA (Sept. 23-Oct. 22): An estuary is a bay where the salt water of a sea mixes with the fresh water of rivers. These days you remind me of such a place. You are two-toned, Libra. You’re dual-purpose and double-tracked. You’re a hybrid blend of the yes and the no, the give and the take, the extravagant and the traditional. And somehow this has been working out pretty well for you. You’re not so much a dysfunctional contradiction as an interesting juxtaposition. You’re not being crushed by a squeeze of opposites so much as you’re getting massaged by the oscillating throbs of complementary influences. Keep doing what you’ve been doing, only more so.

SCORPIO (Oct. 23-Nov. 21): Big shiny egos with flashy tricks may be mucking around in everyone’s business, calling narcissistic attention to themselves as they pretend to do noble deeds. Meanwhile, I hope you’ll be doing the hard, detailed work that must be done to serve the greater good — quietly and unpretentiously improving people’s lives without demanding major tribute. That approach will stir up some sleek, silky karma that will come in handy when you undertake the building of your masterpiece in 2010.

SAGITTARIUS (Nov. 22-Dec. 21): “Dear Rob: I love to be proven wrong. That’s not an ironic statement. I actually get excited and feel creative when I acquire new information that shows me I’ve been operating under a misunderstanding. One of my very favorite life moments occurs when I am convincingly liberated from a negative opinion I’ve been harboring about someone. As you can tell, I’m quite proud of this quality. The way I see it, emotional wealth and psychological health involve having so much self-respect that I don’t need to be right all the time. -Sagittarian Freedom Fighter.” Dear Freedom Fighter: Thanks for your testimony. The capacity you described is one that many Sagittarians will be poised to expand in 2010. And this is an excellent time for them to start getting the hang of it.

CAPRICORN (Dec. 22-Jan. 19): In an early version of the tale of Pinocchio, friendly woodpeckers chiseled his nose back to its original size after it had grown enormous from his incorrigible lying. From a metaphorical perspective, Capricorn, a comparable development may soon occur in your own life. A benevolent (if somewhat rough) intervention akin to the woodpeckers’ assistance will shrink an overgrown, top-heavy part of your attitude, allowing you to proceed to the next chapter of your story with streamlined grace.

AQUARIUS (Jan. 20-Feb. 18): “There is light enough for those who wish to see,” wrote French philosopher Blaise Pascal, “and darkness enough for those of the opposite disposition.” I’m hoping you will align yourself with the first group in the coming weeks, Aquarius. More than ever before, what you choose to focus on will come rushing in to meet you, touch you, teach you, and prompt you to respond. Even if all the smart people you know seem to be drunk on the darkness, I encourage you to be a brave rebel who insists on equal time for the light.

PISCES (Feb. 19-March 20): White dwarfs are small and extremely dense stars. They’re typically no bigger than the Earth but as heavy as the sun. You currently have a resemblance to one of those concentrated balls of pure intensity. I have rarely seen you offering so much bang for the buck. You are as flavorful as chocolate mousse, as piercing as the scent of eucalyptus, as lustrous as a fireworks display on a moonless night. Personally, I’m quite attracted to your saucy and zesty emanations, and I think most people with strong egos will be. But some underachievers with lower self-esteem may regard you as being more like astringent medicine. My advice: Gravitate toward those who like you to be powerful.

President George W. Bush was a terrible president – arguably the worst ever. That said, he did one

President George W. Bush was a terrible president – arguably the worst ever. That said, he did one thing that I really liked: he greatly increased the American production of natural gas – which is why its price has fallen by half of late. Why then have the price of oil and gasoline stayed so ridiculously high when the cost of natural gas has fallen?
Usually, pricing is based on fundamentals – that is: supply and demand (see my upcoming blog on that). I am not an oil-industry-insider, but I am a student of Economics (my second degree is in Economics) and I do talk regularly with several investment professionals who know a thing or two about this.

In the case of natural gas, supply means drilling, storage and distribution pipelines. Demand for gas depends primarily on energy generation, winter heating for buildings, chemical processing (uses gas as a feedstock).

In the case of oil, supply depends also on drilling, storage and distribution. It also depends on refining too – which is presently the most constrained part of the petroleum supply chain. Demand for oil depends on absolutely everything in the economy. There is no sector that is not in some way touched by oil. Oil is for the 20th and 21st centuries what coal was for the 18th, and 19th – that is: oil is everything. We have also seen that the price of oil (much more than natural gas) is responsive to very small fluctuations in supply and sometimes demand (notice that prices bounces around with every hurricane in the gulf of Mexico, every bombing in Iraq, every refinery fire and the economic indicators – which hint at future demand).

Notice that physical supply of oil has kept pace with physical demand for oil at all times during the recent past and present. No one has ever waited in line for rationed gasoline in this decade like we did in the 1970s. To my mind, supply and demand fundamentals dictate a (recession) price of $25 per barrel of light sweet crude oil and an average US price of $1.00/gallon for 87 octane gasoline and a recovery (long term) price of $30 to $35 per barrel of oil and about $1.60 per gallon of gasoline. If we invested in a few more strategically placed refineries and tank farms, we should be able to collapse the long term price of gasoline down to about $1.30 per gallon for gasoline.

Presently oil demand also depends on speculation. Depending on who you talk to, speculation may represent a larger demand than physical demand and it most certainly represents a larger portion of the price. Various investors began crowding into the market beginning in 2007, seeking a safe place to park their money while the economy imploded. This just further drove up the price, and further contributed to economic ruin.

The Democrats, who are usually considered the more progressive party blocked the Republicans’ reforms that were intended to reduce price of oil. They were actually good reforms – which may be part of why the Republicans are presently blocking so many of the Democrats’ initiatives.

Wouldn’t it be a good idea to package together several effective oil reforms including both those favored by the left and those favored by the right?

REFORM 1 (for the right): All areas of the country should be made available for oil exploration and drilling. Environmental regulations should be relaxed if a case can be made that not too much harm will result and it is needed to make the project practical. Polar bears are cute and loveable, and I realize some may die because of increased drilling, but I will pick peoples’ needs any day over animals’ needs.
· Benefit 1 – Energy, which petroleum can be used to create, is a key input for our economy, particularly transportation, manufacturing and farming. Petroleum derived products such as pharmaceutical drugs, plastics, (synthetic) rubber, lubricants, fertilizers etc., are essential to our modern way of life. All other things equal, more petroleum supply means that we can produce more goods and services.
· Benefit 2 – it would increase domestic supply by a significant amount (depending on how much is drilled how soon)

· Benefit 3 – it would improve our military preparedness. The military consumes astronomical amounts of fuel and lubricants.
· Benefit 4 – it would increase supply in the entire global market by some small amount – a psychological boost. Possibly, it might be enough to restrain future price growth in some small way.

REFORM 2 (for the left): All commodities traders should be required to have physical capacity to receive, store and either process or consume the amount of the commodity they are trading.
· Benefit 1 – it would get most of the speculators out of the market, thereby bringing the price down to realistic levels
· Benefit 2 – those speculators who remain in the market would have to build tank farms, refineries etc. More refinery and storage capacity can only help to improve price stability. I suspect, but have no numbers to prove this: having an extra bit of capacity in the supply chain can reduce price volatility, enough to pay for the added costs of installing new capacity.
· Benefit 3 current capacity (especially in refining) is barely adequate for present consumption. It would greatly help our military preparedness to have increased capacity in the petroleum industry.
· Now is the time to make this reform: prices and profits have been ridiculously high for several years.

REFORM 3 (for everyone): No new oil-fired power plants or oil heating furnaces should be allowed in this country, excepting certain extremely rural places where there is presently no other available source of energy. Furthermore, A small development grant should be awarded to study the feasibility of running freight trains on either hydrogen fuel cells or compressed natural gas instead of diesel.
· Benefit 1 – it will reduce winter heating cost over the long term. Natural gas is much more cost effective per BTU of heat for building heating applications
· Benefit 2 – it will reduce electricity cost over the long term. Almost every other source of fuel is more cost effective per kilowatt-hour of electricity production than oil; for example, coal, nuclear, wind, hydro, geothermal are all more cost effective than oil per kilowatt-hour.
· Benefit 3 – Hydrogen fuel cells (that are recharged by electricity from coal or nuclear) could easily become much more efficient than diesel per ton-mile carried in terms of energy consumed and carbon dioxide released. This makes it cheaper and greener at the same time.
· Benefit 4 – Hydrogen fuel cell s require a fair amount of infrastructure to support cars that go everywhere – but nor for trains that are limited in where they can go. By starting with trains, we might be able to very cheaply give hydrogen fuel cells for cars a chance to get off the ground.
· Benefit 5 – To the extent that this causes a reduction in carbon dioxide emission, this will also make Greens happier about swallowing reform 1.
· Benefit 6 – To the extent it reduces future demand for oil, it will help to restrain future price growth in the markets.

It’s a great story, with wonderful lessons within. If you remember, it’s the book that Will Smith refers to in the video that we posted of him last month. If you haven’t seen it, or would like to see it again, I’ll repost it again, because it’s so great! As I was listening to Scott read, a line jumped out at me, and I thought I needed to share it.

“There is only one way to learn,” the alchemist answered. “It’s through action. Everything you need to know you have learned through your journey…”
We will be posting the rest of this week about some of those lessons we have “learned” along the way, and they weren’t learned from anything less than digging in, putting our necks out there, and JUMPING! A number of times over the past few years there have been lessons learned; most through trial and error honestly. We didn’t learn what NOT to do by reading books, but by experience.

Are you waiting for someone to tell you what to do before you… DO? Don’t wait. You’ll never take that first step. If you have something that you’ve been wanting to do, find someone who has been successful in that area, and learn and take advice from them. Even once that is done though, you still have to leap. It can be scary, but honestly the more you do it, the easier it gets, and the higher your odds of success are. We’ve decided to make a checklist for ourselves with all of the lessons that we have learned, easy or hard, over the last number of years. We will share that list with you this week. We know there will be some beneficial things in it for all of you.

I say it all the time.

However, I was reminded, and only this morning (while coaching a CEO whose book you’ve likely read), that I’ve not offered this thought, on or through, this Blog.

A rule, and it must needs be a rule to live by is: “The worst mistake you can make is one you repeat”.

Mistakes can almost always represent foundations for an opportunity to finish well. I’ve certainly made some big mistakes, and all of them; each and everyone – as painful as they can be, are a kind, if certainly not gentle, reminders of greater potential.

This can be, but need not be a corollary to my earlier post: opportunities to Shine, Really.

Charles Darwin will have his chin on fist with his gaze firmly upon you, and at every opportunity.

We must, after all is said and done, represent ourselves as Prudent Gentlemen.

Lets talk about the four phases of building a team/organization in network marketing. This is where

Lets talk about the four phases of building a team/organization in network marketing. This is where the rubber hits the road because if you can stay in Phase 1 your business will grow, but if you end up in Phase 4 chances are it will die. Everybody reading this who has a business wants it to grow and to do so is very simple, yet very hard to do. It is because you are the front line person. There are no buffers between you and the next prospect. Hopefully, this brief posting will help you and your team to stay focussed on the true building blocks to NWM success.

Phase 1, that is where you expose others to your opportunity directly. By directly that could mean a one on one, a long distance phone presentation, an internet overview, a home or public meeting. You choose the way to expose. Keep in mind that it often requires multiple exposures of mounting degrees of excitement to bring somebody onside. In this Phase your time is spent piquing the interest of prospects and then leading them through the process until they have enough information to make an informed decision on whether or not your opportunity is the one that will give them the money and time freedom they so desire. Keep exposing every day and you will create momentum that cannot be stopped.

Phase 2, is where you now find yourself in a management position. You are managing all those newbies on your team and the newbies they bring on board. You are showing them how to pique interest, how to invite, how to present, how to follow up. Yes you must do these things, but not to the exclusion of Phase 1 activities. Micro managing will start to take you out of the business. It may feel nice and look nice, but beware of the management trap. You want to help your team and the best way to do that is to stay strong in Phase 1, leading by example.

In Phase 3 you now oversee management. This stuff gets easier as you go along, but trust me it makes it harder to make money. Now you are teaching the managers how to manage and removing yourself further from the basics of Phase 1. Sure there seemingly is more glory in this Phase as others put you on a pedastal. Don’t let it happen. It takes you out of touch with the frontlines and the frontlines is where your battle is going to be won or lost.

Phase 4 has you overseeing the overseers. Not a good position to be in. Now you are really removed from all the action. There are too many layers between you and those that are working the business. Let me insert, you are only working the business when you are gathering customers and recruiting representatives. If you are reading this and are in this position, get out quick because

Phase 5 is when you are out of business. You have been leading a life of delusion and it has all come crashing down. Short of doing nothing at all managing the managers will get you to Phase 5 really quickly. Now this is easy to do. Of course, this is not the kind of easy you want. You want to be on easy street, not out on the street.

Whoops, there is one other Phase I forgot to mention and that is Phase Zero. That is were you do nothing. You sign up for an opportunity, pay your registration fee and become a secret agent for the opportunity. Nobody knows you have a business. Phase 1 is pie in the sky and your sponsor is wondering why you ever joined in the first place.

There you have it. The way to create a large team is to have everyone, including yourself, stay in Phase 1. I hope this has been helpful to those that have gone astray or are drifting in that direction. Best of luck in your endeavours. BTW, luck stands for Labour Under Correct Knowledge. Let knowledge keep you in Phase 1.

And now I am going to return to my site.

Have you ever bounced out of bed in the morning and everything has gone better than you imagined?

Was it close to perfect? Those are the kind of days I love . . . How about you? So how do we create more of those kind of days?

Do you think if we are more thankful for what we do have, we might be blessed with more opportunities so we can in turn bless others? For me, there’s nothing more fun than seeing someone WIN at the game of LIFE. And, if I can contribute to that in some small way, then my day is close to perfect (after a hug from my kids)!

Would you agree that we are in a ‘Season’?

Upon reflecting about the ‘season,’ most everyone is experiencing, I believe there are many lessons to be learned. It is a wake-up call for many that having more ‘things,’ isn’t the answer.

Today’s message comes from a recent Bible Study at Calvary Chapel Ft. Lauderdale. The reason I’m sharing this is because I believe Pastor Bob’s message is thought provoking . . . regardless of your faith:

TIS THE SEASON . . . To Be . . .

1. Honest — If you haven’t all ready, stop trying to impress people. Tis the season to be authentic. Don’t buy things you don’t need, buy things you can’t afford or try to impress others. For most, it’s time to be honest where we’re in all areas, including our finances.

2. Strategic — Be a planner. Instead of giving gifts to people this season that you pick out and give ‘for the sake of giving,’ Plan strategically on how your gift might benefit the recipient or even others.

Consider making a gift in the recipient’s name to a charity where your gift will have an impact.

3. Grateful — If you’ve got a place to lay your head, family, friends, food in your tummy, and a computer to read this, there is something to be grateful for.

4. Sacrificial — Give something up for someone else.

Now, I believe when we live in an attitude of gratitude, life is a little more sweet. I find I am more content, less judgmental, and a more obedient servant.

Even in this season of challenges, there is great opportunity coming YOUR way. Look for the seeds of possibility. When one door closes, another one opens!

In closing, I wanted to share a quote I recently came across. Hope you enjoy it:

‘Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life. It turns what we have into enough, and more. . . it turns denial into acceptance, chaos into order, confusion into clarity . . . It turns problems into gifts, failures into success, the unexpected into perfect timing, and mistakes into important events. Gratitude makes sense of our past, brings peace for today, and creates a vision for tomorrow.’ ~~ Melodie Beattie

Live an awesome week.

Remember, how you do anything is how you do everything.

Consider for a moment that our lives are like rivers, and when we are born, we are full and flowing.

Consider for a moment that our lives are like rivers, and when we are born, we are full and flowing. But as with any river, we are at the mercy of the world’s abuse, and if not protected, we can dry up. So how can we protect ourselves from this strife?

Luckily there are environmentalists (“river protectors”) whose mission is to protect our nation’s rivers. But who are our “life protectors”? Some find a safe haven in the family nest, others seek salvation in God and turn all of their problems over to Him. Sadly enough however, there are many who do not know where to turn.

Fortunately there is a plan of action, a means of survival that can be derived from the protective measures used by the river protectors…a plan that encourages recognition, appreciation, preservation, prevention and support.

Recognition - River protectors take great measures to promote the beauty of the river. Recognizing the beauty of the river adds value to its existence.

We all have inner beauty and taking the necessary steps to recognize this beauty promotes self-worth and consequently, interest. Engaging in activities that explore these interests can lead us to discover our strengths.

Appreciation - People do not want to protect what to them has no value. River protectors devote a lot of time and effort in reminding those who take for granted the value of the river. By reiterating its purpose as a primary drinking source and/or a playground for hikers and canoers, they are affirming its value. Assessing value encourages appreciation and thus a desire to protect.

If we take the time to appreciate ourselves, we are reminded of our value.

Preservation - River protectors are always encouraging us to conserve water by using it wisely (i.e., turn off the water when brushing your teeth). By conserving the resource, it is less likely to run low.

Life has ebbs and flows and there are times when we feel as if our inner stores are running on fumes. When this happens, some people will up the stakes in the hopes it will reap a larger gain, but with increased risk of failure, odds are the outcome will be negative. At a time when we are already depleted of our inner stores, this negativity can lead to feelings of nothingness which can result in depression. Alternatively, when times are tough, we can kick the gambling habit and call upon our inner strength stores, consequently reminding us of our value and encouraging more productive resolutions to ensuing problems.

Prevention - One of the primary advancements in river protection is prevention. An example of this is low-impact development, which is a design approach that manages stormwater runoff. Stormwater runoff can cause water pollution and can damage a river as a result of surging water after heavy rain which can cause flooding. Read more about stormwater runoff.

What if we could implement measures in our lives that could prevent depletion of our inner stores? By redesigning our problem solving abilities to be more effective, we can reduce the need for damage control and ultimately prevent feelings of desolation.

Support - Thankfully there are people in the world who care about our rivers and who don’t just say, “oh well, hope the river won’t dry up”. These people have a passion that compels them to protect. Nevertheless, the river protectors can accomplish their goals more productively with the support of others.

When we are having problems, we can call for support and there are people who are willing to help. But often times in this day and age of privacy policies, people won’t reach out for fear of seeming intrusive or bothersome. So by speaking up and letting people know we are having a tough time, we can find those who are willing to lend a helping hand, and by doing so, we can build long-lasting relationships which can provide a lifetime of support.

So. . . . some change of events since I last wrote on here. Architecture for Humanity (AFH) so far

So. . . . some change of events since I last wrote on here.

Architecture for Humanity (AFH) so far is going really well. We’re planning on having our workshop for early February, so it is getting very exciting. It’s great to work with people from a variety of backgrounds that have similar initiatives and goals. Hopefully we get to break some ground soon. . .

Of course, I’m still very frustrated and disappointed about Peace Corps. However, I have re-evaluated the situation and it may be a more viable option after I attain my master’s degree. One, I’ll have much more experience and background knowledge, and I could be much more useful and helpful for the country I will be helping. Two, I could always explore other options of volunteering in other countries. I’m thinking this may be a good idea after I finish applying for graduate schools. Perhaps during the spring and summer I can volunteer for a few months when I’m done with graduate applications.

This weekend I discovered that I did not get the job offer from the interview I had a couple weeks ago. The email I got stated that the prospective jobs the firm was hoping to materialize did not, so as a result they could not hire me. It was such a huge disappointment, and I spent the rest of the night lamenting over what my future goals and aspirations could be. . . kept me up until 4 am. Sometimes I wish I was one of those people that was satisfied with that they had in life. Sometimes I wish I could just settle for the way things are. Sometimes I wished I was that B student that just chilled and was content with just being mediocre in school. But I’m the type of person that is never fully content and satisfied with what I have – I always want to push myself to do more. It’s just a frustrating drive, because I am rarely able to just be happy with what I have.

I’m also beginning to feel a growing bitterness to the situation. It’s a feeling I tried hard to suppress in the beginning of the summer, and I managed to push it aside. But once I lost that job offer, a huge wave of anger and resentment at everything just completely engulfed my mind. I couldn’t think straight for several hours. I was just so angry at the world. Why is this happening to me? I worked so hard in school for what? To sit around, wasting away my work and talent? It sounds so petty, but I suddenly thought about all the people in studio that always went to me for help and guidance, and they were the ones that ended up with jobs. Because they knew people that could help them get work. It just made me realize it really doesn’t matter how hard you work and how much talent you have – it’s all about who you know. And it’s such a pessimistic outlook upon life, but I couldn’t help thinking that repetitively again in my head. . .

Anyways, so my new plan is to finally apply to graduate schools. I’ve already taken the GRE’s (and didn’t do very well, which was another huge disappointment), and have started applications to the University of Washington in Seattle, University of Michigan, Washington University in St. Louis, and University of Cincinnati. I’m only applying to four, and I am truly hoping to get accepted into these programs. They’re all very strong and competitive programs, and each offer a diverse experience in research opportunities, pedagogy, and location. I never though I would be looking at schools in the mid-west, but I think it’s time to overcome my personal bias and to explore the rest of the United States. I can’t stay stuck on either the West or East coast and never see the middle, right?

So that’s my new game plan: graduate schools, volunteer opportunities, and hopefully keep looking for jobs. It’s been a very difficult 6 months, dealing with all these fallen opportunities, but I am trying my best to keep my head up. As one of my friends said to me, what doesn’t kill you can only make you stronger.

And happy things happen to happy people. I’m hoping this will work. I bought myself a bright orange wind breaker and new brooks running shoes, and tomorrow’s forecast is sunny. So for at least a hour tomorrow I will feel happy

I also wanted to just thank all my friends and the faculty members that have been supportive. It really helps to know that you support and believe in me. . . probably one of the only reasons I haven’t completely lost my mind yet.

“Why dont’ I see this stuff at the food stand?” Well, Due to the fragile make up of this fruit once Acai is picked, or harvested it starts to lose up to 1/2 – 2/3 of its nutritional value within 36 hours. Acai grows deep in the Amazon, about 60-100 miles up the Amazon river where there aren’t many resources to harvest it and get it to market before it is spoiled, which is why you will never see real Acai fruit at the grocery store. In fact many people in the Amazon and South America haven’t even heard of Acai because it can’t be moved from the jungle efficiently enough.

Monavie was the first to bring Acai to North America and we are also the largest importer of it. We are the only company with the patent pending freeze-dried ACAI Berry which is freeze-dried within 24 hours of being harvested. This is the most potent form of ACAI in the world and we are the only company that does it right, giving you 95% more effectiveness than most every other Acai product out there. With an ORAC of 1027 compared to the ORAC of 45 that most spray-dried Acai offers, not to mention the 18 other super fruits we add to our blends.

If you aren’t using Monavie you would be better off using fresh blueberries or cranberries (which we also use in our blends) for a source of nutrition and antioxidants instead of other Acai products. Other companies use a cheaper spray-dried Acai which gives you only 10% of the fruits actual nutritional value. They do this because it is much cheaper, and easier, and they don’t think that you would know the difference. ( because all we see are price$ nowadays). And they’re right about that last part, unless you have actually had the best quality Acai products, or done your research, you would think to yourself ” Why pay more for X when I can have Y at a cheaper price?” That’s a lot like asking, “ Why pay more for a Mercedes SL 500 when I can drive around in a Buick Skylark for less money?” Sounds more like one of those ”Silly” questions when it’s put that way, doesn’t it? Well now you know, so you won’t be fooled when you see all of these Buick Skylaaarrr, I mean, Acai products out there. Also, when you look at the ingredients on the back of any Monavie product, Acai is at the top, while other companies have it towards the bottom, if at all. If you don’t understand what this means, the order and abundance of ingredients start with the most abundant ingredient in the product at the top of the list, and the least abundant at the bottom. This is the way it is on all food labels.

Some companies have what they called Acai flavored beverages even though Acai is virtually tasteless, these companies are doing nothing short of jumping on the band wagon by slapping a label with Acai and Antioxidant on it even though it probably contains very little of either, especially not enough to actually be doing what they claim it does. Some companies offer pills, which we all know by now that multi-vitamins and other pill supplements are mostly ineffective, or have a minor impact if they’re even absorbed by our bodies at all ( some look the same coming out as they did when thy went in. How’s that for a picture of health?). And even the pure Acai beverages that you can buy at the natural food stores can be brought back to the aforementioned spray-dried manufacturing and how you’re being short-changed (and who can afford to be short-changed in this economy?). Oh, and not to mention that they don’t even have 1 or 2 of the 18 other Super Fruits that we also add to our blend. Monavie is a complete, 100% natural, whole food. So don’t be fooled, This is the Top of the Line when it comes to products for your health and wellness, anything else truly is second-rate.

If you have tried other Acai or wellness products to no avail, then I suggest you try this, it works, it tastes great, and there is obviously a good reason we’ve got so much media, celebrity, and athlete coverage and usage, and grown to a multi billion dollar company with only juice for a product in under 5 years! You know that you have something good going for you when other’s are either being critical like children, comparing their product to yours, or both!

For only about $4.50 a day you can get far more than your recommended daily dose of fruits and vegetables in just 4oz of delicious Monavie. As a matter of fact, just 4oz of Monavie has the antioxidant value of 13 servings of fruit! Go to the natural food market, and see how much that it will cost you to get 13 servings of fruits(13-36 cups!!!), not to mention the time invested eating all of that fruit, and the fat you’d be putting on from eating so much of it. $4.50 a day! Thats about a coffee and a vitamin water at the store, neither of which are that great for you.

In a time of a financial crisis stress usually plays a large factor in our lives. Stress is a major cause of oxidation in our bodies, which is what makes us age and get sick.Wouldn’t you love the opportunity to be able to get more than enough of your recommended servings of Antioxidants from fruit to maintain a healthy lifestyle, and do so in a financially intelligent way? I can honestly say that I don’t know of any other way that is less costly and as effective as Monavie!!! You can save a lot of money at the grocery store from cutting out a lot of the products that you would normally need if you weren’t consuming Monavie. Now my household saves more in one week from buying less at the super market than it costs for a weeks supply of Monavie!

If you aren’t aware of the importance of antioxidants and how they can help you to live healthier and longer lives without the high risk of sickness and disease that are is so predominant today. you can check out my “For Your Health” page and watch Dr. Lou Niles explain.

If you don’t take time for your health now you will most certainly be taking time for sickness later. This product compliments any healthy lifestyle, and anyone who understands the value of a healthy lifestyle should appreciate Monavie as the best there is. To your health, Enjoy!

Before starting a business, no matter what, you should seriously evaluate whether or not you believe

Before starting a business, no matter what, you should seriously evaluate whether or not you believe you can succeed. Starting an MLM business such as Rodan + Fields usually requires very little initial investment and one might be tempted to sign-up without thinking it through.

Rodan + Fields was not the first MLM model that was presented to me but what made me decide for it is that I believe I can actually make it work. It fits in with what I currently do and I was immediately able to think of different ways to promote their products.

No matter what business opportunity you choose, I believe these skills/characteristics to be essential for success:

Self-starter: No one is going to tell you what to do when

Driven: You want to succeed

Independent: Gets things done.

Creative: Comes up with plenty of ideas

Visionary: Can see the business grow

Can motivate yourself

See failure as an opportunity

In addition to the above I also think it is essential to realize that there is more to maintaining a business than just selling. There is promoting and marketing your business which can be quite costly unless you are creative yourself and have some innovative ideas. There are legal and financial aspects to your business. In order to be successful you also need great organizational as well as multi-tasking skills. In addition connections can be very helpful and networking is definitely on top of the list.

Personally I have most of the attributes listed above but my one weakness is the networking. I am not a very sociable person and don’t make easy contact. However, I am aware of the fact and will definitely do my best to improve this art. Since I believe this to be an essential, I am very curious to see how the Rodan + Fields venture will work out for me.

To be continued…

What if you had the opportunity to get your product and company name in front of millions of viewers in the matter of a couple of hours by way of 10-30 second commercials on ESPN where spokesmen like Drew Brees would help you (and that game was the only Bowl Game on TV that day)?
If you have the internet based business opportunity and get with SEO (search engine optimization) th

If you have the internet based business opportunity and get with SEO (search engine optimization) the business premises of opportunity leads to your website achieving a good PageRank is probably something you strive for. If you do not … it should be! Google PageRank is specific. This is a tool from Google used to determine the general importance of a site. It is the Google-specific, and they are the only search engine with this technology.

The thing here is that GoogleIt is also by far the most search engine advertising on the Internet. When combined with PageRank, we should not be finding all, a bit more about them and the relevance does it have?

Listen, I'm not calling for what is an SEO Expert far. I am working on SEO and that because of that I read on the Internet and scarf, whatever information I can find. There are many ebooks, articles, blog posts and audio interviews you can find on this subject, but in many cases, theInformation they contain contradict with each other. I have noticed that many of the SEO experts (including Google will) tell you that PageRank is not as important as everyone thinks, what it is.

I think this is not true! Here's why.

Much of SEO has to do with more backlinks to your website. Backlinks have a high relevance to Google, because in reality someone like your site enough that they associated with it. It is, as always, a vote in your favor. Here is the thing but stillLinks from sites with a higher PageRank than yours is that link or voice more "weight" or the meaning! The higher the PageRank, the more relevant is the backlink.

Everyone seems to agree on this point. So why should the experts (including some who work for Google to say) that PageRank is only a tool created for the exclusive use Google's "and that we really did not make it out to be very much more than that?" I do not know.

I am copying and pasting a few short snipet from one part ofGoogle's "technical data information.

"PageRank Technology: PageRank reflects our view of the importance of web pages, taking into account more than 500 million variables and 2 billion terms have searched. Pages that we believe are important pages receive a higher PageRank and are more at the forefront of Search results appear. "

PageRank also considers the importance of each page that casts a vote, as votes from some pages will have a higher value so that the linked pagehigher value. We always have a pragmatic approach to improving search quality and create useful products and our technology uses the collective intelligence of the web pages to determine significance. "

If you do this more, copy and paste the following link to dig into your browser to see some of their technology overview.

http://www.google.com/corporate/tech.html

So … There you have it! Getting good PageRank is very important to achieve if youView of SEO to drive business opportunity leads to your site! .. The higher the better. Getting backlinks from high PageRank sites? The higher the number the better.

SEO is the way to go! There is nothing better than the quality of leads you can purchase, because these people who are actually searching for what to offer you!

I just got off the phone talking to my friend Karen. She was so happy to have found an old boyfriend

I just got off the phone talking to my friend Karen. She was so happy to have found an old boyfriend again after 20 years. They’re both single and in their late forties. And after meeting again they found that “The Spark” was still there and romance was in the air.

Of course they both had relationships before; Karen has been divorced for 15 years and Ken broke up with his girlfriend about 3 years ago. And this is where the problem begins. Ken and Karen were happy until Ken decided to go to a Psychiatrist. “Just talking”, he said. And, although he didn’t have a problem at first with his past relationship and especially the break-up, now he has one, and it’s ruining his life.

The Psychiatrist keeps on dredging up the past and especially the ex-girlfriend and all the hurt she has caused him. Ken thought he’d dealt with all that effectively 3 years ago and was actually glad to see her go, but with every question the Psychiatrist asks him he’s more and more doubting himself. Yes, he’s glad it’s over, but the hurt….oh gosh the hurt!! And every week he gets more and more upset; the past won’t let him go, and neither does the Psychiatrist.

In the middle of Ken’s emotional turmoil there’s Karen. Karen is a different kettle of fish, because she dealt with her failed marriage a long time ago. No, she didn’t “see” anybody, she had a couple of good cries and got it out of her system. She never asked herself “Why” or “Was it me” or whatever. She just accepted it and started living again. According to Karen life is short and if opportunity knocks you better be there.

So while Ken is re-living and analyzing his ex-relationship on a weekly basis Karen is ready to start a new one, with Ken. While Ken is living in the past, Karen is in the present. While the Psychiatrist is telling Ken to go over a particular hurt done to him, once again, Karen is looking forward towards the future.

Are you not allowed to be hurt? Yes of course you are. But don’t “mourn” past relationships too long; they might get in the way of getting a new one.

And Karen? There’s still hope. I’m sure she can get Ken’s attention in the “here and now”. If only he stays in the “here and now” long enough to realize that the past is just that: The past. Move on Ken…..Opportunity knocks on your door…Can you hear it?

Just over 2 months ago, we set our goal of reaching millionaire status within a 22 month time frame.

Just over 2 months ago, we set our goal of reaching millionaire status within a 22 month time frame. Over the last 2 months we have shared our thoughts and feelings with you regarding many subjects. Our purpose for doing this has been to document where we are mentally as we take the initial steps toward our goal. As we progress from this point forward we will attempt to journal more of a day to day progress report regarding events that are occurring during our journey. We will continue to offer our thoughts on specific subjects as they occur in our life, but we will focus more on the transformation that is going to take place in the near future.
Sometime in the next few days we will also be posting a list of other short term goals that we have a desire to accomplish over the next 20 months. Our reason for doing this is twofold; one, we would like to establish a routine of accomplishing all of our goals so that our millionaire goal becomes a natural habit engrained in our subconscious minds, and two, we would like to keep our audience excited and entertained. We want to have fresh and exciting accomplishments to post that will keep you motivated in reaching your own goals, and excited to continue following us. The more goals you see us reach, the more drive you will have to reach your own.
We are very grateful for all of your support, and we urge you to continue commenting on our posts and giving us feedback. We have some very exciting things happening here and we will continue to share them with you. Good luck in your own personal journey; we wish you the absolute best.

How Allstate treats people…

“I left Allstate in 2000 when they fired us all. I was with the company 23 1/2 years and was 53 years old. I suspended my health coverage at that time. Last year my wife’s company liquidated so we lost our health coverage. Because we had preexisting medical problems, we had to go with Allstate under my suspended coverage.

This year they had us with United Healthcare for $870.50 per month. Next year (1/1/2010) they are putting us with Blue Cross/ Blue Shield. Out premium will be $957.00 per month. That is a killer but what other choice do we have?”

Mark 13:32-37 “No one knows about that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but

Mark 13:32-37
“No one knows about that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father. Be on guard! Be alert! You do not know when that time will come. It’s like a man going away: He leaves his house and puts his servants in charge, each with his assigned task, and tells the one at the door to keep watch. “Therefore keep watch because you do not know when the owner of the house will come back—whether in the evening, or at midnight, or when the rooster crows, or at dawn. If he comes suddenly, do not let him find you sleeping. What I say to you, I say to everyone: ‘Watch!’”

The reality of Jesus’ betrayal and his death has become a reality to the disciples who now sit Jesus down to enquire when it will take place. This is so human and curiosity kills. Israel was and is still waiting for the coming messiah who would save them and take them to heaven and like the rest of Israel, the disciples wanted to know when. They realized that Jesus was the long-awaited messiah but wanted to know what next. Reminds me of me because as I wait upon the Lord for the right job opportunity, my curiosity kills me to a point of asking God for signs or evidence that he has something in store and I’m reminded again that I am to wait on God for his timing and not mine.

Jesus’s response to this question is not what the disciples probably hoped to hear, specially when he said that neither the angels or even he knew when the time was but he certainly gave clues. 2 days ago, a new friend and I were talking and he indicated to me signs that the end times were here and I have to say, it was compelling. Therefore the caution that Jesus gives us to be on guard and not asleep is key for us today. Our eyes are to be focused on sharing the gospel to the world and living worthy lives through God’s help and not to be caught off-guard. It’s a wake up call that we cannot be asleep in our walk with Christ but awake. If we are not walking with Christ yet, it’s a loud shout to us that the end is near and before we loose the opportunity to share eternity with God, we need to submit our lives to his Lordship. Rise and shine Children of the living God!
