Hello to all you V8 Supercars fans

This weekend is the Trading Post Perth Challenge in Western Australia.

Let’s look back at last year’s race 8.

Team Vodafone’s Jamie Whincup started on pole position car no. 88 alongside him was Jason Bright from team BOC car no. 8. Jamie got the jump into turn 1, after the race start Steve Owen from Paul Morris Motorsport hit Karl Reindler which caused a massive fire with cars 21 and 49. Mark Beretta had interviewed Steve Owen then the field had to come back around onto the starting grid to do 50 laps of race 8 in 2011. Karl was very lucky to escape from that fire. I was just amazed that David Reynolds was able to go around the outside of Karl Reindler Wow Karl Reindler started from 13th on the grid and Steve started from position number 17th. Do not attempt to run up the ass of another car, when they are still stationary. For all you who don’t follow V8 Supercars, stationary means NOT MOVING.

Team Vodafone dominated in 2011. But so far this season Ford Performance Racing has been dominating in the 2012 Australian V8 Supercars championship series. The gap now between Will Davison and the defending series champion Jamie Whincup after Hamilton is now 30 points.

Then here is the twist the V8 Supercars officials had to run onto an extremely hot track to put a fire out, Steve Owen had a fair bit of speed on by the time he had run up to the rear of car 21. Last year there were 2 fires Karl Reindler at WA and the Steven Johnson/David Bernard car no. 17 and then to be back in the car at Winton which was the next Venue after Perth. The last time an accident as bad as this, was way back in 2000 with Mark Larkham and Paul Morris at Oran Park Raceway in Sydney. My opinon on the whole fuel cell business is that is that V8 Supercars Australia should have put the fuel cell further forward a long time ago to avoid fires.

This weekend there will be 2 qualifying session for the 2 races 8 and 9. Last year Jamie won 2 out of 3 races, race 8 the middle race, Jason Bright won, Jamie won races 7 and 9.
