<p>Orangutans live in Borneo and Sumatra, though at one time their habitat ranged from Southeast Asia to Southern China. They are at high-risk of extinction and have protected status. Their major risk factors are human intrusion with logging, mining, and farming.</p>
<p>Orangutans have many characteristics in common with human beings and, in fact, &#8220;orangutan&#8221; means &#8220;person of the forest&#8221; according to <a href="http://www.orangutan.org/index.php">Orangutan Foundation International.</a> At that site, you can learn almost anything you might want to know about this colorful creature.</p>
