Every household has many, many manuals for everything we own (washer/dryer, Xbox 360, TV’s, electronic devices).  Put every manual in alphabetical order filed by what you call it. If you call your TV a television or a SONY television, file it by what the first thing that comes to mind when you think of that item.  The reason behind this theory is: when the dishwasher is flooding the kitchen floor, you don’t want to have to search for the name of the (Kenmore) dishwasher, you need that manual fast!  I keep the receipt attached to the manual, for big ticket items.  You will have it available to prove your purchase date.

I have a wonderful story to tell you about manuals and receipts. I had bought a recliner with a 10 year spot warranty included with it. The recliner was 9 1/2 years old when it got a spot that I could not remove. I knew that the warrantee and the receipt for this recliner were in my manual folder, filed under the name recliner. I went to my file, retrieved the paperwork, and called the company. Since I had the receipt, the proof of purchase and the warrantee, I was given a brand-new recliner to replace my 9 1/2-year-old recliner. It was as easy as that.

The one thing you do need to remember about your manual folders is that they need to be gone through and old manuals for items you no longer own, should be purged. I normally go through mine once a year, just to keep it current.

Now this whole thing on the Moleskine is quite a phenomenon. Demands have been higher, relatively increasing the price.

Seriously, would you need an organizer / notebook that costs more than a 1000 bucks?

As much as I may have gotten my perpetual planner for more than that, it came with books (defensive-mode on).

As I previously posted, I got myself a Scribe planner which costs a quarter than that of a Moleskine and I was happy.

Of course it’s premature, since if I actually looked further, I would’ve found the Green Apple.

This is a Moleskine look-alike. It may not have the oilcloth, but its cover is a thicker leatherette.The ribbon bookmark is almost the same but the elastic that keeps the notebook shut is relatively thinner. The best part, it costs 169 bucks in retail (half less than the Scribe pad).

Former Obama Organizer Threatens to ‘Out’ Catholic Priests to ‘Encourage’ Them to Repudiate Church’s Moral Stand on Homosexuality.

A longtime Washington, D.C., liberal Internet activist has founded a Web site that he says will collect accounts of homosexuals in the Catholic priesthood–accounts he will use to “encourage” them to change their views on homosexual marriage and other issues.

“Outing” the priests–publicly revealing their homosexuality–is “not off the table,” Phil Attey, founder of the Web site ChurchOuting.com, told CNSNews.com . The site will also collect information on straight priests who have broken their vow of celibacy, using the information to “encourage” those priests to go against their Church’s teachings on homosexuality as well.

“This is a campaign to collect information about closeted gay Catholic priests, as well as heterosexual Catholic priests who secretly engage in romantic or sexual affairs, yet are unwilling to speak out against the church leadership’s anti-gay political campaigns,” the Web site says.

Attey, a former Obama campaign organizer and Internet organizing pioneer, said the goal of his site was not to “out” the priests, but to end what he called the “spiritual abuse” inflicted by Catholic priests who teach against homosexual marriage and the homosexual lifestyle.

BREAKING: San Diego ACORN Document Dump Scandal

On October 1st, 2009 California Attorney General Jerry Brown announced that an investigation had been opened into ACORN’s activities in California, resulting from undercover videos showing employees seemingly offering to assist the undercover film makers with human smuggling, child prostitution and even tax advice to boot.

Although ACORN has denied any wrongdoing, some of the employees involved were terminated, and ACORN has publicly stated that they would fully cooperate with any investigations that followed.

Interestingly, the local head ACORN organizer in California, David Lagstein was caught on tape earlier this month speaking to an East County Democratic Club.

Mr. Lagstein stated: “…the attorney general is a political animal, but certainly every bit of the communication we have had with them has suggested that the fault will be found with the people that did the video and not the people with ACORN.”

Continuing, Mr. Lagstein stated: “…we are fully cooperating, some of the investigators visited our office this morning and I think they really understand what’s going on.”

Shockingly, we now learn that the ACORN office in National City (San Diego County) engaged in a massive document dump on the evening of October 9th, containing thousands upon thousands of sensitive documents, just days prior to the Attorney General’s visit.

BigGovernment.com has learned that not only did this document dump occur, but the documents in question were irresponsibly and brazenly dumped in a public dumpster, without considering laws and regulations as to how sensitive information should be treated.

I am a local licensed private investigator. I took it upon myself to keep an eye on what the local ACORN office was up to, in light of the release of the undercover videos. I retrieved these documents from the public dumpster.

Documents shared with BigGovernment.com include information exposing not only the inner workings of ACORN in California, but also personal, sensitive information belonging to employees, members and clients of ACORN. ACORN and its few remaining defenders insist that the “good” ACORN provides outweighs the transgressions exposed in the recent undercover video sting. But, ACORN’s massive dumping of these documents and the cavalier manner in which it betrayed the trust of its supporters betrays that talking point. ACORN’s political agenda is also exposed, with thousands upon thousands of documents revealing the depth of the political machine that is ACORN, and its disturbing ties to not only public employee labor unions but some of the most radical leftist organizations.

The laws governing how sensitive, personal information such as social security numbers, driver’s license numbers, immigration records, tax returns, etc. must be treated are very stringent, and thus it seems as if ACORN may have committed serious violations in that department alone, with thousands upon thousands of potential plaintiffs.

In addition the video clip, from the evening of the document dump, shows ACORN operatives clearly engaged in some kind of discussion – likely related to the activities of that evening.

Kerry Katona, the former winner of I’m A Celebrity, has slated Katie Price for returning to the jungle. The reality star hit out at Jordan for being “everywhere” and claimed that the glamour model will never steal her crown. She told OK! magazine: “There’s just too much Katie everywhere. “I don’t know what going into the jungle will do for Katie’s career. You know the amazing unburstable bubble that is Jedward? Well, someone’s just tried to burst it. Big style. A mysterious X Factor “insider” has claimed that sound technicians were forced to turn down the twins’ vocals during their performance of Under Pressure… well, Ice Ice Baby, really… on Saturday’s show – or they’d get the sack. Ooooooooh, dramarama-tastic. “It is totally outrageous – and unfair to the other contestants,” says someone who sounds like they’ve got a bit of PMT. “It is cheating. The only time the sound levels on the mics were lifted was when they were rapping. I  am disgusted. A work colleague of mine was threatened with the sack before Saturday’s live show.” “Every week session singers come in to the studio to record backing tracks to some of the contestants’ songs. The twins have had backing vocals on all their live performances so far. The sound crew are always told to turn the levels of their mics down so their vocals are mostly covered by the backing singers. We are used to tweaking levels, it is part of their job but what we were asked to do on Saturday was beyond a joke.” They added, in full Points Of View mode now (ask your mum), “It makes me truly sick that we are part of this manipulation.” Unsurprisingly, the official X Factor line is that Jedward haven’t received any special treatment. “All the contestants sing live on Saturday night and are given an equal amount of technical support,” says a spokeslady. So, the plot thickens.

Their bone-crushing jaws, 24 razor-sharp teeth and armour-plated skin are enough to ensure most animals keep their distance.  But, as our incredible pictures show, even crocodiles are no match for a herd of angry hippos. This young reptilian predator paid the price for swimming too close to a mother and her calves while they bathed. As 50 hippos gathered into a defensive circle around them, the crocodile panicked and raced over their backs in a bid to escape.

It was the last mistake he ever made. The beast’s defences were no match for the maze of angry mammals, who proved their bite is every bit as lethal as his. The spectacularly rare battle of the beasts was captured by Czech wildlife photographer Vaclav Silha. He had set up his camera on the banks of the River Nile in the Serengeti national park, Tanzania, when the unbelievable scene unfolded before him. But the 45-year-old got more than he bargained for when a colossal fight broke out between the group and a sneaky crocodile he had spotted earlier. ‘Mutual respect between these animals means fights occur very rarely,’ he said. ‘One of the only reasons you might see a conflict is if the hippos have young and they think the little ones are under threat. That’s exactly what happened here.

‘The incautious croc got too close to a female who had calves and the whole group gathered into a defensive circle around them. It was a strong message for the crook to clear off. ‘I have absolutely no idea why but the crocodile suddenly raced across the backs of the hippos. I think it might have panicked and thought it was a possible escape route. I couldn’t believe my eyes. ‘It was the worst choice the reptile could ever have made and it was definitely its last. ‘The island of hippos suddenly erupted with teeth and all I could see was the crocodile being repeatedly crushed in their huge mouths.’ Described as one of the most aggressive creatures in the animal kingdom, an adult hippo can apply several tons of pressure in a single bite. ‘Even the toughest crocodile could not have withstood being repeatedly bitten like that,’ said Mr Silha, from Prague. ‘There was no way for him to escape. I few seconds later his lifeless body slipped below the water and I didn’t see him again.’

No parent wants to hear that. I was very proud when she got her PhD. She is a very intelligent girl and I wish she had become well-known under different circumstances. I would rather things had worked out differently but it’s her life to live.” Miss Magnanti, who was born in Florida and came to England to study for a doctorate at Sheffield University, has said she turned to prostitution after moving to London, where she found she could not afford to pay her rent. Miss Magnanti’s decision go public as the author of The Intimate Adventures of a London Call Girl, which was turned into a hit ITV series starring Billie Piper, has been supported by her colleagues at Bristol University. But her confession has outraged a former boyfriend of seven years, who was known as “The Boy” in diary. “Brooke has outed me to my family and friends without giving me any warning. She never asked if she could write about our life together and I feel humiliated,” he said.

I for one find the whole story a testimony to Ms Magnanti, she didnt sponge off the state or whinge or moan, she did something about it and she and her family should be proud of her.  Her detractors should be aware that Miss Magnanti is carrying out vital research into children’s cancers.

French woman marries boyfriend one year after he died

A woman in France has married her boyfriend of six years – a year after he died.

Magali Jaskiewicz and Jonathan George had planned to wed at their local town hall in November 2008, but he was killed just two days before the ceremony in a motorcycle accident. Ms Jaskiewitz, 32, used a little-known section of the French civil code that allows posthumous marriages if all the formalities for the wedding were completed before one of the partners died, including the setting of a date. She proved to officials that she and Mr George had been living together since 2004 and that they shared a bank account. She also provided a photo of the wedding dress she had bought to wear to their wedding. Standing alone in the aisle at the town hall, she was “married” to Mr George at a ceremony attended by 30 family members and friends in the village of Dommary-Baroncourt, in eastern France, on Saturday. Around ten posthumous marriages are carried out each year in France, French interior ministry officials said.
