I have been really busy lately

about schoolwork and shits like that..

I was a lil depressed because of not having too much excitement going on and the bad Oregon weather..

Runyo always complained about the weather here and wanted to escape as soon as he can.

To me, the frustrating and boring days ended yesterday when I got an email back from Nike HQ

I applied for couple of internships over the last weekend, and I was surprised and shocked that I got selected and interested by Nike in such a timely fashion.

What I knew was that the percentage of prescreening selection is about 10%!! I am so fortunate  to be called..

I am gonna have a phone interview tomorrow afternoon!! Don’t call me at that time!! I am being serious!!

I had a long debate with my Mom, my bros, my peers, and most strugglingly, myself.

I will be gone for the spring term to Japan!!!!! Which means that I won’t have time commitment to do that.

Until tonight, I figured out that I should be myself. Don’t listen or care about others’ feelings when you are competing and fighting!!!

You are responsible for yourself in terms of development and growth. No one can do what you want to do but yourself.

I shouldn’t decline the opportunity when it comes across me just because I don’t have time. R u sure that u r gonna get it in 100% confidence?

R u sure that there is not someone who is way better than you and ready to hunt you down??? I highly doubted!!

So, I decided to take the opportunity anyhow regardless of the situation I am encountering. I can make the decision whether I want to go later if I luckily enough to get an offer..

And I will learn some many irreplaceable handy interview experiences with Nike specifically! HOW VALUABLE IT COULD BE???

Original Fake just offered a first look at their Spring Summer 2010 collection.
The collection includes nice outerwear and cut-and-sew pieces. Kaws teeth and “X” eyes are carefully integrated into certain elements of the clothes.

It has been a long long week that many things were going on like new member initiation, school work, and many other shits.

Saturday is a good day!!

After the ceremony, we all headed out to a Chinese buffet to enjoy a lil bit chilling time out there..

I could barely tell the quality of the food I consumed because I was so so so starving that I just filled my stomach with some random delis.

Another team up collab with Original Fake x CLOT. This time artist Kaws created the graphic of this collaboration between CLOT and his own Original Fake brand. The tee will be released January 2nd at Juice HK.

I’ve been looking for this particular ORIGINAL FAKE cap ever since it came out in the summertime.  I only knew of one store that sold it, which was COMMONWEALTH in Virginia Beach.  Other than that, all the other retailers that I asked didn’t get them in stock.

Anyhow, for some reason I found a certain store that had ONE LEFT in STOCK!  I was so ecstatic since it was in my size!  I wanted to get one new hat that I could bring to a tropical island in the very NEAR FUTURE.  Presenting, the latest cap to my collection.  Unfortunately for the people that I’m visiting, this hat is returning home with me. LOL  It’s a PLAIN black trucker cap with black embroidery on the front.

MY FAVORITE PART OF THE CAP is the CHOMPERS PATTERN that they subtly placed around the base of the cap.  IT’S SO AWESOME!!!  This is probably my FAVORITE cap to date!

Price tag = OUCH.  Well where I’m going make that…ARAY!

KAWS, or KAWSONE is an artist that I’ve known about and seen the work of for a long time, but haven’t really payed attention to until just recently.  Growing up in New Jersey, he got into graffiti, and turned that into a career.  Brian Donnelly went to the School of Fine Arts in New York, and studied illustration.  He likes to appropriate imagery from other sources like Disney and Nickelodeon cartoons, and use them in his super popular, limited edition sculptures and paintings.  He also has his own clothing and accessory line called Original Fake.  And his works are shown in galleries all over the world, and praised as works blurring the line between fine and commercial art, like the pop artists.  His artwork is featured on the cover of The Clipse’s newest album, Til The Casket Drops, and he’s done work with everyone from Kanye West and Lil’ Wayne to New York Magazine and Kiehl’s.  Click on the image above to link to his personal blog on his website.

Releasing Saturday, December 12th at HUF is this new KAWS Dissection Companion Keychain from Original Fake.  The Crew is a fan of Kaws, and definitely follows his artwork through his brand and the various collaborations he’s had with many folks.  We wish we had someone in SF at the HUF store to snatch this one up for us!  If anyone from the DMV is out there, holla!
