According to the market research firm Marketdata Enterpises Inc., Americans spend $55 billion a year on weight loss. Be it in the form of diet books, exercise equipment, health club memberships, pre-packaged meal plans or the ever elusive “magic pill” millions of Americans are trying anything to live a healthy lifestyle. And most are missing the mark, even those who appear perfectly healthy.

Why you may ask? The answer is both simple and complex. The quick and easy answer is greed. The corporations that produce those over-the-counter appetite suppressants and metabolism enhancers like hoodia, benzoyl peroxide and green tea extract prey on the same characteristic that causes most instances of obesity to begin with, sloth.

They know there is great profit to be made in selling the “magic pill” to those Americans who are convinced they can expel that spare tire without having to give up their precious drive-thru combos and channel surfing marathons. They also know (despite what they claim) that their products do not work; they’ve read the Mayo Clinic’s comprehensive study just like I have.

Those consumers are a lost cause but there are millions more out there that have been proactive by exercising, counting calories and reducing saturated fats. Their resting heart rate is under 70, their triglycerides are within acceptable parameters and their LDL’s are under 150. Yet they can’t seem to get rid of that fat roll. What gives?

This is the complex part. To write a blog post that explains all of the things wrong with our modern food system would actually constitute a book. Therefore I have collected some video information that may help you learn that truth that our government has conspired to keep from us all in the name of the simple answer, greed.  Both Bushes, Clinton and yes, even Obama have apointed Monsanto cronies to government posts that make policy for food safety.  The track record for all is heinous.

One of the lies is that skinny equals healthy.  What good are those six pack abs if your body is riddled with cancer or your circulatory system is invaded by aplastic anemia?  Oh yeah, so you can live longer and spend more of your life savings on pharmaceuticals that don’t cure anything.

Okay, now NUEZ DE LA INDIA might be the strangest product, but I must say that in my experience, NUEZ DE LA INDIA it works very similarly to a product in the United States called ORLISTAT. It Also goes by the brand name ALLI, promoted by the famous singer, Wynona Judd. Although, NUEZ DE LA INDIA does not promote any oily discharges or anything embarrassing–those of you who have used ORLISTAT know what I’m talking about.

Don’t expect any fancy packaging or celebrity spokesperson for this product because NUEZ DE LA INDIA is still sold in a very natural organic form.  That makes it kind of strange.  NUEZ DE LA INDIA looks like a cross between a pumkin seed and a macadamia nut.  You get twelve (12)  nuts  in a package.

Now,  to use NUEZ DE LA INDIA, you feel like some kind of ancient medicine man or shaman.  You cut one of the twelve NUEZ DE LA INDIA nuts into four parts. and use the back of a spoon, (if you’re a really fancy foodie, you can use a pestal).   If you don’t know what a pestal is, don’t worry.

Before you go to bed, you take one of the tiny pieces that you cut and boil it in water like a tea.  Then you drink the tea and go to sleep.  The next day, you will feel a bit lighter and you will have…ahem….bowel movements and more bowel movements…as NUEZ DE LA INDIA flushes fat and toxin out of your body.  I have to note that NUEZ DE LA INDIA makes this an easy process.  There is no cramping or discomfort at all.  Unless you do like I did, which I will tell you from personal experinence DO NOT TAKE MORE THAN ONE FOURTH OF THE SEED PER DAY!!!!!!  It will not be pleasant and it’s not necessary.

Orlistat, the active component of alli, has been more extensively studied than any other drug approved for treatment of obesity. Over 30,000 individuals have participated in more than 100 clinical research studies. These studies have measured tests of liver function and have not indicated that orlistat is associated with adverse effects on the liver. In fact, medical doctors who specialize in liver disease have used orlistat for treatment of several types of liver disease. “Fatty liver disease”, accumulation of excessive fat in the liver is very common in overweight individuals. Liver specialists have tested orlistat for treatment of fatty liver and preliminary results from about a dozen studies suggest that orlistat decreases fat accumulation in the liver and improves chemical tests of liver function. Extremely rarely, several different types of liver problems have occurred when individuals have taken orlistat but, currently, there is no specific information indicating that orlistat has been related to these liver problems. There are several reasons that overweight persons could develop liver problems while on a weight-loss diet. Most overweight people have excessive fat in the liver; when they lose weight there often are mild, temporary changes in liver function. Overweight persons are a high risk for gallstones and when they lose weight they commonly form new gallstones. Use of weight loss herbal remedies, other drugs, or alcohol could contribute to liver problems. Fat blocking drugs have become a favourite with a lot of people seeking effortless weight loss. Apparently the Food and Drug Administration has started investigating Alli and Xenical, which are two popular weight loss drugs. Alli is an over the counter weight loss drug which is approved by the FDA. Xenical on the other hand is a prescription strength version of the fat blocking drug with twice the potency of Alli. Both drugs  apparently facilitate weight loss by inhibiting the intestine’s ability to absorb fat.

The FDA has since received 32 reports of serious liver damage that may be linked to Orlistat, the active ingredient in both Xenical and Alli.

I did a search to find out the side effects of orlistat based drugs and this is what was on the medicine.net website;

The most common side effects of orlistat are oily spotting on underwear, flatulence, urgent bowel movements, fatty or oily stools, increased number of bowel movements, abdominal pain or discomfort, and inability to control stool (incontinence).

Is it really worth it to suffer all these side effects and put one’s health at risk? It never ceases to amaze me at what great lengths people will go to achieve quick weight loss. Is the discomfort and embarrassment of staining one’s underwear and even clothes worth it?

Unfortunately, in this age of the remote control, people will always be looking for quick fixes for weight loss. This is one of the reasons that drug companies invest so much in finding the magic pill that can provide weight loss effortlessly. Unfortunately such a magic pill does not exist and I really doubt that modern science will ever be able to find such a magic pill.

Weight gain is a lifestyle problem that cannot be cured with a pill. Its a lifestyle problem because it is affected by such a wide array of factors such as nutrition, exercise, hormones, mental health, stress, sleep and a host of other factors. A drug or a quick fix can only address the problem temporarily. As soon as the effect of the quick fix wears off, weight usually creeps back because the underlying problem was never addressed.

In order for your body to change, you have to change in your mind first. Your body is like a car. It needs some level of maintenance. We cannot be so irresponsible as to deny our bodies the maintenance required for it to operate optimally. Do not ever resort to drugs as a solution for your weight loss challenge. If you are going to try and lose weight, once and for all lose it correctly.

Lose weight correctly and look forward to better health and not worry about the side effects of a drug. Easily sustain the weight that you have lost and not put it back as soon as the effect of the drug wears off. The secret of healthy and sustainable weight loss is accepting the fact that achieving and maintaining a beautiful body requires both effort and time. The day one accepts this, the battle against the bulge would already be half won. This is the single biggest obstacle in the way of many people. And besides that, if there was a magic pill for weight loss, Oprah would have found it by now.

Farmaco che può essere venduto senza ricetta. Ma l’obesità non è un problema che il paziente può risolvere da solo.

Orlistat senza ricetta da quest’anno
L’orlistat è un principio attivo che ostacola l’assorbimento dei grassi nell’intestino: questi sono espulsi attraverso la feci e così l’apporto calorico diminuisce. Si usa per combattere l’obesità e fino a oggi è stato venduto solo con ricetta medica (nome commerciale Xenical). All’inizio del 2009 l’Emea (agenzia europea per i medicinali) ha autorizzato la vendita dell’orlistat anche senza ricetta, come farmaco da banco, purché con dosaggio dimezzato.

Ci siamo opposti a livello europeo
Una decisione stupefacente, alla quale ci siamo opposti attraverso il Beuc, l’organizzazione di consumatori europea di cui facciamo parte. L’Orlistat non ha alcuna delle caratteristiche che devono caratterizzare i farmaci da banco: l’obesità non è un problema che il paziente può gestire da solo, né è un disturbo passeggero.

Questo farmaco comporta effetti indesiderati anche gravi e deve comunque essere inserito in una dieta corretta e adottando uno stile di vita non sedentario. Venderlo liberamente significa suggerire che contro l’obesità basti prendere una pillola, senza cambiare abitudini: il che è profondamente sbagliato.

Per non parlare della possibilità di abusi, specialmente da parte delle giovanissime ossessionate dalla linea.
