Spectacular snaps in September

As we edge closer to our wonderful wedding we are filled with great excitement and anticipation. With the speed each month has left us we are so lucky to have had the support, guidance and encouragement of all suppliers and September has been no different. This month we had the most wonderful meeting with our remarkable photographer David Knight and he blew us away with every picture, idea and the enthusiasm he had. The excitement is reaching a new height.

We met David in his studio which he runs with members of his family. Both his sons are huge assets to him with Barry now shooting their wedding videos, and Conor who is assisting David as a second photographer at many of their weddings. David also has a wonderful team of girls who help organise the wedding arrangements and will be processing and selecting our photographs and designing our wedding album. It is wonderful to have such a wonderful team working with us to make our wedding day so special.

From speaking with David it was apparent that his approach to our wedding day is to create a friendly and professional relationship with us and our guests. From looking at the work that David has previously done it was evident that he has developed a very personal style of telling the story of a wedding day and portrays this in a relaxed and informal manner. David also stressed his ability to work quietly, efficiently and unobtrusively and this therefore allows everyone to enjoy our wedding.  We feel very lucky to have such a wonderful photographer who has the ability to provide us with stunning imagery that captures all the happiness and emotion that will take place on our wedding day.

As this month draws to close I eagerly anticipate the next two months with excitement nerves and happiness. It has been an amazing journey so far and with the help, guidance and support of the Radisson Hotel I am privileged to be having my Hen night there next month.  I truly anticipate and “Over indulgent October” on the horizon.

Amazing August

Wow, we have had the most amazing month and we are truly delighted with the progress we have made this month. This month has flown by and the planning has progressed well and I don’t think we could have anticipated that amount of development we would have achieved. With the time flying by it is great to have the support of our suppliers and the Radisson Blu.

We began this month by meeting with Adrian from Ejs Menswear and he provided us with exceptional service. When we arrived at Ejs I was mesmerised by the wonderful selection of suits, waistcoats etc on offer and I didn’t know where would start! Thankfully, we had wonderful guidance from Adrian and his professional eye was soon picking out suits. Adrian took our colour scheme into consideration and we were thrilled with suits that he suggested. The men will definitely look well on the day!

From here we met with Denise in the Radisson and we were thrilled to welcome her back from her maternity leave. We finalised some of our arrangements for our wonderful big day and as always we received amazing ideas, guidance and support.  We also had our menu tasting in the hotel and we were blown away with how wonderful the food was. Both myself and Tom found the food to be truly delightful and we are very excited about having such a delicious meal at our wedding. The staff at the Radisson truly are amazing and every time we are there I can’t believe how lucky we are to be having our wedding there.

We really were spoilt with amazing food in the Radisson and this wonderful treatment continued when we met with Janine Boyd form Cakewalk. Janine had an amazing assortment of cake samples and we were spoilt for choice when it came to making a decision. It was so difficult to make a choice that we decided to go with three different flavoured layers on our cake. In regard to the cake design, Janine had the most wonderful ideas and we both feel she has designed a marvellous cake for us.

In all, this moth was wonderful and could not have been achieved without the guidance and support from our suppliers and the Radisson Blu. We look forward to the excitement that the next few months will bring and we’re sure the time will fly!

Joyful July

With only 4 months left until our big day we had a surprisingly quiet month! We have been taking advantage of the summer month and relaxing as we know we will have a very busy few months ahead of us. I can imagine that August will be our month to finalise a lot of the decisions that we have made so far and I can’t wait to meet again with our suppliers. As always the suppliers are so friendly and welcoming and a joy so to work and it has been because of their wonderful support and guidance that we have been able to relax this month. During this month though, we were very happy to get the legality’s of the wedding organised and so we have given our notice to the state. We are happy to have this done and to have the papers to sign on our wedding day. We have also chosen our candles and completed our wedding course so it is great to have some of these things done.

Our next plans are definitely to make the final decisions on the flowers and I know this will be an exciting and enjoyable time especially with the help of Michael. We are also really looking forward to meeting with Janine Boyd from cakewalk again and to taste her wonderful cakes. She has such a wonderful selection that it will be very hard to decide on one for the wedding! I am also hoping to get the suits finalised for the men an am really looking forward to working with the wonderful staff of Ejs Menswear. It will be great t have the suits sorted out and I know that Ejs will be so helpful when we arrive. It will definitely be an exciting month ahead!!

This month has been very busy and very exciting especially when I got the news this month that my dress had arrived in store.  I ordered my dress in January and couldn’t wait for it to come. I have been looking at it online for the past few months and I am so happy to finally have it. My bridesmaid, mum and mother-in-law are all coming to see the dress with me at my fitting next week and I think they are all as excited as I am. Simone’s bridal shop has been so helpful and to now have my dress makes the excitement even bigger.

Now that I have my dress I can start to organise the flowers for the wedding with Feehilys Florist in Sligo. This month I met with Michael from Feehily’s florist and he was so helpful and enthusiastic about my wedding. We will be having an hour meeting next month to make finak arrangements and I am really looking forward to this. It is vital for this meeting that I have my dress and a picture of it to show Michael as he takes into consideration the style, colour etc so to choose flowers that will complement my dress the best. I think it is wonderful that Michael and Feehilys are so helpful and so good at what they do. Michael has also suggested that I bring a swap of my bridesmaid’s material so that he can also choose flowers to best suit the dress. I am so excited about our next meeting as I know that Michael will guide is through the flower picking process and that we truly will have wonderful flowers. It will definitely be an exciting month next month!!

A Marvellous Meeting in May

This month we had a wonderful meeting with Nicola from the Radisson Blu in Sligo. Arriving at the Radisson Blu for our meeting gave us an amazingly exciting feeling and many moments from the day of the competition came flooding back. As we drove up to the doors I found myself imaging our Wedding Day on the 11/11/11 and sheer excited filled me. The joy of winning the competition came over us all again and we were both so eager to meet with Nicola and make some more plans.

I was really looking forward to meeting up with Nicola to make some arrangements and as always she was extremely helpful. I began by showing Nicola the scrap book of our wedding plans that I have been keeping since we won the wedding. Nicola really enjoyed looking at the sample materials etc and it gave her a great idea of our colour scheme. From here we talked about various aspects of our big day and Nicola was helpful in guiding us through the planning process. It was amazing to get so many details organised and Nicola gave the whole process a wonderfully friendly and supportive touch. We are extremely lucky to be working with Nicola and all the staff from the Radisson Blu. From the beginning all the staff from the Radisson Blu have been so supportive and we are so lucky to be having our Wedding in this amazing hotel. The support and guidance we have received has been amazing and I can’t wait to continue my planning.

Next month I hope to meet with Feehilys Florist in Sligo and talk about our flowers for the big day and I am super excited about meeting with them. They sponsored the bouquet for the winning bride on the day of the wedding competition and I thought the bouquet was fabulous. We are so lucky to have Feehilys florist supporting us and we couldn’t imagine a better suppler for our flowers.

With only seven months left until the wedding I can’t believe how fast it is coming. The excitement of winning our wedding in the Radisson with such wonderful suppliers is still with us and every day we are so excited about our Wedding. Every time we meet with a supplier or the wonderful staff of the Radisson we count ourselves lucky to be working with such wonderful people. Our day will truly be wonderful because of the support we are getting from the Radisson and our suppliers.

Gold Ring Productions

Meeting with Mick from Gold ring productions was wonderful and he has been very supportive about our big day. We are so excited about working with Gold ring productions because thanks to them we will have our day captured through film for the rest of our lives. As Gold ring states themselves:

Because the event goes by so quickly, capturing your ceromony and reception in video will mean tour wedding will be preserved for you and your family now and more importantly for generations to come”

Working with Gold Ring Productions who are so prestigious and dedicated will mean our day will be captured in a magical and wonderful way.

Salon 2

I am also so excited about working with the award winning and renowned Salon 2 who will be doing my hair and my bridesmaid on the big day. Salon 2 has played a huge role so far and we will always have a thank you to Anthony for styling my hair like Cheryl Cole on the day in the competition. Salon 2′s commitment to progressing staff through hair cutting, hair colouring and hair care education ensures that the highest standards of hairdressing and client care is always achieved.

Our hair stylists’ creativity and expertise is reflected in the numerous national and international awards, accolades and prestigious titles Salon 2′s Artistic Team has won over the years.

With such a skilled and dedicated team, Salon 2 will be key to making my look for the wedding and I feel so privileged to have them doing my hair. I can’t wait for my trials and to see what they come up with for my big day. It is all very exciting!

Once again we have had a wonderful month of planning and it is has been a joy to see all our plans coming together. While attending the Radisson Wedding Fair we had a brilliant time meeting again with all our suppliers and making arrangements for our big day.

One of the suppliers that we met with was North West Limos and they were so helpful in helping us choose the car of our dreams for our special day. They had a wonderful choice of cars and both myself and Tom were blown away by the elegance of their cars. We knew it would be a hard choice as all three cars were stunning. The cars we got to choose from was the Chrysler 300c Stretch Limousine, the Chrysler 300c Saloon Limo in White or the Chrysler 300c Saloon Limo in black. We were thrilled to be able to choose the Chrysler 300c Saloon Limo in black and it was thanks to the wonderful people at Northwest Limos that we were able to do this.

Another Supplier that we got to make arrangements with this month was Anne Hurrell from Wedding Chair Covers which is based in Leitrim and offers a wide range of chair covers. We found Anne to be so friendly and helpful and she guided us extremely well in helping us to choose the colours for our wedding. Anne looked at my material for my bridesmaid dresses and following her wonderful guidance we picked the colours that would suit best. We also booked her fabulous Fairy light backdrop which is absolutely amazing and I am so excited about seeing the room on our wedding. We are so privileged to be working with Anne and I know she will make or wedding extremely magical.

We were also very excited about meeting again with Janine Boyd who had a wonderful display of cakes with her at the Wedding Open Fair. Janine had so many spectacular cakes that both myself and Tom were completely mesmerised and excited about choosing our wedding cake. We saw so many beautiful cakes that we couldn’t even make our decision! So we are really excited about meeting with Janine again making the decision on the cake we will have. It will be hard to make a choice because all of Janine’s cakes are fabulous!

Once again this had been a busy, exciting and enjoyable month of planning. I am truly enjoying every moment of it and feel so lucky to be working with Radisson Hotel and all our suppliers.

Since writing my last blog both myself and Tom have had a wonderful time meeting with some of the magnificent suppliers who along with the Radisson will be making our day so special. The first of the suppliers that we were lucky enough to meet with was Deja Groove and wow it is an absolute joy to be working with them. We met with David from Deja Grove in the Radisson in Sligo and we talked through some of the songs we would like for the wedding. Both myself and Tom found David to be an enthusiastic, passionate and friendly man and this made us feel even more excited about our wedding.  So far we have picked our first song, some songs that we like and in all we have a wealth of confidence in Deja Grove as they truly are a wonderful band. We really are so lucky and we can’t wait to meet with Scruffy Duffy next as he will be spectacular addition to the entertainment at our wedding.

As our preparation has continued we have been lucky enough to visit the Radisson wedding open fair where we got to see the ballroom set for a wedding. Both myself and Tom were blown away by the beauty of the room and the attention to detail that had been attended to. Anne Hurrell from Wedding Chair Covers did a fabulous job of the chair covers and I fell in love with her fabulous fairy light back drop. I am so excited about meeting with her and with her contribution she will really add a magical touch to our wedding.

This month has been a wonderfully successful time in terms of our planning and as always the Radisson Hotel have been a huge contributor to this success. We have also been in contact via email with David Knight or photographer, Janine Boyd from Cake walk, Northwest Limos and Goldring Video Production and everyone has been a wonderful support. Both myself and Tom are also very excited about attending the Radisson Wedding fair on Sunday 13^th February and we hope to meet with some more of our suppliers. Tom is really looking forward to meeting with Ejs Menswear at the fair who undoubtedly have a wonderful selection of suits and I cant wait to choose my flowers with Feehilys Florists now that Ive chosen my dress!

In all we are truly blessed with how well our planning is going and we are eternally grateful to the Radisson hotel and all the suppliers.

The Radisson Blu Hotel and Spa in Sligo is such a perfect venue for our wedding. Since getting engaged, we often looked at the Radisson Blu Hotel and dreamt of having our wedding there. Now, as we reach the first anniversary of our engagement, we can hardly believe that we are less than a year away from our dream wedding. The staff and the team at the Radisson Blu have been absolutely fantastic, making this amazing hotel even better! From the day we won the competition to meeting with our Wedding Planner, Denise, we have been delighted to have had the professional support of people who are putting so much enthusiasm and passion into our wedding that we know the day itself will be absolutely perfect.
For now, the excitement of continuing to plan our dream day continues and we are looking forward to working with all the suppliers who will be helping to make our day so special.
This is just the start of an incredibly exciting journey.
