You’d be forgiven at the moment for thinking we were nearing the end of a decade. The interweb

You’d be forgiven at the moment for thinking we were nearing the end of a decade. The interwebs have been awash of late with more countdowns, best ofs, top tens and general reminiscences of the 2000’s then you could poke a digital stick at. Suddenly everybody is a critic, and while some of the countdowns have been insightful and thought-provoking, others have been….well, like this one. For the nostalgic, these countdowns are practically memory-heaven. But for those who don’t buy into that sort of stuff, it gets a little tiring. So, what better than to list some of the best (and worst) ‘best-of’ lists currently clogging up cyber-space?

Pitchfork: P2K

Over the past months American music site Pitchfork have taken an in-depth look at the decade in music. Way back in the dark ages of 2001 the site barely existed, but since then has grown to be one of the most formidable online music news and reviews sites on the net. Not only does P2K count down the best albums, songs and music videos, it also features a series of essays detailing some of the more interesting developments in music over the past ten years. Of particular note is the ‘Decade in Indie’ and the social history of the mp3.

Highlights
Best Album: Radiohead- Kid A
Best Song: Outkast- B.O.B.

Paste Magazine: The 25 best Album Covers

Slightly more obscure is Paste magazine’s countdown of the best album covers. It has been argued that as digital sales boom and physical CD sales decline, the quality of modern album art is going steadily downhill (as this cover would seem to prove). Regardless, Paste have put together an interesting countdown, which includes the likes of The Flaming Lips, Animal Collective, Arcade Fire and Lil Wayne. Whoever decided to award Neko Case’s Middle Cyclone cover as number 1 though needs to go back and re-take primary school art classes.

Highlights
Number 1: Neko Case- Middle Cyclone
Number 2: Animal Collective- Merriweather Post Pavilion (and rightly so)

The A.V. Club: The 30 best TV Shows

The problem with critics is often that their views on what is ‘good’ differs from the majority of the viewing public. Which is a shame, but it’s also the reason why most of the shows on the A.V. Club’s list of best TV shows of the decade have either ended or been cancelled. Still, it’s a formidable list. The top 3 (The Wire, Arrested Development and the Sopranos) are undoubtedly some of the finest productions since television’s inception, let alone in this decade. Other notable shows include Mad Men, Lost and The West Wing, just scraping in at number 30. The best part of this countdown though is the shitfight in the comments as to what constitutes a ‘decade’. Hilarious.

Highlights

News.com.au: Moment of the Decade

Oh, News.com.au. Purveyor of fine, quality journalism. Not content with simply telling Middle Australia what the best bits of the noughties were, good old Rupert has gone and encouraged everyone to name their own favourites! For anyone that’s ever read the comments to any article on the site, that should be enough to click your way on over. In case you need any more incentive though, today’s category is ‘Killers, Haters, Tools: Choose the Villian of the decade’. Apparently Kyle Sandilands and John Mayer are in the same league as Osama Bin Laden and Saddam Hussein. Who would have thought? The fun doesn’t stop there. Oh no siree, it doesn’t. For you creative types, you can even have a go at naming what the next decade should be called! An issue of utmost importance, of course. Seriously, the sooner this site becomes paid-only, the better.

Slightly more classy news outlet Times Online went all out and counted down the top 100 cinematic releases of the decade. With everything from political drama Milk to Roman-epic Gladiator to comedy Knocked Up, the list does well to cater for everyone…up until the odd choice of The Bourne Supremacy/Ultimatum at number 2 (So really it should have been the best 101 movies). And Team America World Police in the top 5? You must be joking.

In Brief
Number 1: Hidden
Number 16: Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind
Number 34: Finding Nemo
Number 64: Anchorman

Well that’s about it. Some of the best (and worst) countdowns of the best (and worst) things to happen in the noughties. Of course, a quick google search will reveal thousands more best-ofs then the ones here. But really, is there much point? When it comes down to it, who gets to decide that Franz Ferdinand is better than Hot Chip? Or that Monsters, Inc. deserves to place ahead of Pan’s Labyrinth?

Perhaps the best countdown of the decade should go to Hungry Beast. They look at the ten best years of the 2000’s. You can check that out here.

Artist Paul McCarthy describes the improvisational process and performances behind the video work Piccadilly Circus (2003). Filmed at an unoccupied London bank before being renovated by Hauser & Wirth gallery in 2002, and shot several months before the start of the Iraq War, the work features costumed players in the roles of President George W. Bush, Osama Bin Laden, and the Queen Mum (in three versions).

Paul McCarthy’s video-taped performances and provocative multimedia installations lampoon polite society, ridicule authority, and bombard the viewer with a sensory overload of often sexually-tinged, violent imagery. With irreverent wit, McCarthy often takes aim at cherished American myths and icons—Walt Disney, the Western, and even the Modern Artist—adding a touch of malice to subjects that have been traditionally revered for their innocence or purity. Whether conflating real-world political figures with fantastical characters such as Santa Claus, or treating erotic and abject content with frivolity and charm, McCarthy’s work confuses codes, mixes high and low culture, and provokes an analysis of fundamental beliefs.

McCarthy’s current exhibition of drawings WHITE SNOW is on view at Hauser & Wirth in New York through December 24th, 2009. Works in the exhibition draw upon the 19th century German folk tale ‘Snow White’ (‘Schneewittchen’) as well as its modern interpretation by Walt Disney.

Paul McCarthy is featured in the Season 5 (2009) episode Transformation of the Art:21—Art in the Twenty-First Century television series on PBS.

One American principle that I really love is that we separate church and state.Politics are not supposed to be mixed with religion. But,some folks just have trouble adhering to that fact.

Take Mayor Osby Davis of Vallejo,CA for instance. He had to issue a formal apology for the aspersions he cast on his gay constituents. The NY Times carried an article that quoted him as saying that “they’re committing sin and that sin will keep them out of heaven.”

Wow! And he is a Christian attorney.Well,he should judge not, lest he be judged.Because,in the end,we are all sinners. No man is free of all sin.

Here’s more from The Oakland Tribune:

“At least one person said he plans to call for Davis’ resignation or recall while another wants him to be censured.

Davis said Tuesday he wants the community to pull together and move forward during difficult times.

“It should go without saying, and is certainly obvious to all who know me, that my conduct, actions and decisions have demonstrated my conviction for fairness for all people and my love for this city,” Davis wrote.

Sherrie Connelly, a hospital chaplain and former Human Relations commissioner, said she was confused by Davis’ comments, but was reasonably certain Davis didn’t intend to “cause the kind of brouhaha” that was raised.

“I believe the mayor’s comments stir the soup in Vallejo in a very unfavorable way,” said Connelly, a self-described straight, 65-year-old woman.

“As elected officials, we have a responsibility to serve the entire community, not just the ones who believe as we do.”

Former planning commissioner and gay activist Charles Legalos called for action against Davis.

“I want to get an item on the City Council agenda to censure him,” Legalos said.

“His comments were completely out of line. They have no place coming from a city official.”

Legalos also expressed concern over the separation of church and state issue as it relates to the city of God remark.

“Separation of church and state is a fundamental tenet of our government, and he violated it,” Legalos said.

Davis said his prepared statement was not designed to defend his beliefs. He added that he did not feel his beliefs related to the intent of the New York Times column.

“I did not intend to use my position as mayor to espouse my beliefs,” Davis said. “I will not use my position as mayor to espouse my personal beliefs. My personal beliefs are mine and mine alone — and they will remain mine from this point on.”

Former school board candidate and openly gay priest Lou Bordisso, also quoted in the Times column, said remarks like Davis’ can lead to negative consequences.

Bordisso said Monday he’s planning a rally and news conference at 6:15 p.m. Dec. 1 in front of City Hall before the regular City Council meeting.

“There’s a lot of anger out there and people need a forum in which to express their anger and frustration,” Bordisso said.

Others expanded on Bordisso’s apprehensions.

“I believe the main point is the image of Vallejo going out to the world — this mixing politics with religion,” said Max Green, a self-described politically aware Vallejo resident. “

(Davis) is supposed to be the mayor of everyone, not just those who believe as he does.” And besides, Legalos said, Vallejo doesn’t need more negative attention.

“It’s discouraging,” he said. “The city has gained notoriety in terms of crime, bankruptcy, bad management, and to add this to it … to now be known as a city with a bigoted mayor. …” (End of Excerpt) Read the entire article here.

There are very few wars that I support as I tend to be a pacifist. I also don’t know much about foreign affairs. However, I do have some feelings about Afghanistan, and since there is no shortage of people in this country who have strong opinions about things they know little or nothing about, I have my opinion about Afghanistan and here it is.

Bernard Finel in an editorial article in the Dallas Morning News on Sunday November 22, lays out what he believes is the case for the US leaving Afghanistan.

Let me first say that one of the few wars I supported was our initial attack on Afghanistan. President George W. Bush was absolutely right to attack this country– they were harboring Osama Bin Laden, the mastermind of the 9/11 attacks and were fomenting terrorism against the US. That is one of the few things I agreed with Dubya about. I was with him right up till he started diverting resources to bomb the hell out of Iraq. That’s where he lost me on his whole war on terrorism thing because it then stopped being all about getting the 9/11 terrorists and Osama Bin Laden.

Now, however, we are still in Afghanistan and nobody seems to know what to do about it. Do we send more troops there? Throw more money and resources at it? Send more of our young people over there to die?

We are no longer in Afghanistan for the same reason we were there in the first place. Our initial reason for going there was to get Bin Laden. Now, well, nobody seems to be quite sure what our reason for being there is. Stabilize the government to ensure our safety in the region? Toss out the Taliban? Build a nation? These types of policies have worked so well for us in the past (not!)

Mind you, I find the Taliban and its policies against women to be completely and utterly heinous. I hate the Taliban and everything it stands for. What I question is if it makes sense for us as a nation to spend so much of our resources on our military operations there. There are other regimes in this world that are just as bad, if not worse, than the Taliban, but the reason we are fighting in Afghanistan and not in the Sudan is because we started out in Afghanistan for the purpose of getting the man who had attacked our country.

We shouldn’t have diverted resources from Afghanistan to Iraq. We should have poured more resources in Afghanistan when we had world opinion with us, when we had an international coalition to help us, when we had a chance to go in and win the war. But we didn’t. And now we are fighting a different war for reasons that are nebulous. Now, it is time to leave.

Afghanistan: Explain it, Mr. President

By PATRICK CUNNANE

BARACK Obama’s presidency may hinge on the future of the Afghanistan war and a sound understanding of Islamic extremists and the world in which they operate.

Extremists are global and their actors are mobile. Thus, a victory in Afghanistan doesn’t necessarily mean a victory in the war on terror against al Qaeda.

As the United States moves forward in Afghanistan, some of our reasons for being there in the first place – like al Qaeda – have moved; Osama bin Laden and Ayman al Zawahiri are believed to be hiding in the tribal areas of Pakistan, and the terror group is thought to be discussing a move to Somalia or Yemen.

Extremist groups infest broken, ungoverned places and play on the reigning misery and discontent in order to attract recruits. Unfortunately for the U.S., the Middle East is fraught with broken places.

We can’t fix all these places, and Afghanistan is proving that we may not be able to fix any of them. For nation-building and a full-scale counterinsurgency to work in Afghanistan, we likely need to discuss additional forces in terms of hundreds, not tens of thousands, of troops.

With the U.S. enmeshed in Iraq and an economic mess at home, can war-weary Americans and their legislators accept such numbers?

So our focus narrows. We must disabuse ourselves of the notion that we are fighting to win the war on terror.

EACH TIME THE president reassures us that we’ll succeed in defeating extremists, he sets himself up for failure.

Extremists will always exist. They usually reside in places like the Mideast, but they can also pop up in places like Oklahoma City and Aurora, Colo. They’re born of misery and deficiency, but they’re also physicians and sons of billionaires. They live in times of turmoil as well as periods of relative peace. They come from poverty and from privilege.

In the end, our obligation is not to do the impossible, it’s to do what we can. What we can do is commit ourselves to engage Afghanistan, alongside a credible Afghani government, for the sake of the Afghani people and for regional stability. The United States needs a renewed sense of purpose in Afghanistan.

There is a reason the United States should remain in Afghanistan. But it’s also President Obama’s duty to explain clearly to the American people what that reason is. It’s not to rid the world of evil or terrorism. Both will always exist.

PhD Timothy Conway (a critic of Sathya Sai Baba who thoroughly eulogizes, promotes and worships Mata Amritanandamayi Devi as a bona-fide Guru) cited Guruphiliac Jody Radzik on his enlightened-spirituality.org website as a notable person who endorsed him. Timothy Conway duplicated the following comments onto his website from Jody Radzik’s blogged article entitled “Conway’s Way Is No Con”:

Timothy Conway Solicited The Integrity Of Guruphiliac Webmaster On His Official Domain

“Timothy [has] got a slew of good stuff up at his Enlightened-Spirituality.org, including a nice little bit about the importance of critical thinking, the precious water and commodity that’s sorely lacking in the infernal desert of ignorance known as New Age spirituality in the West…. It’s good to see someone out there upholding the legacies of Shankara and Vivekananda, especially in these days of enlightenment pyramid scams and lame-brained channelling schemes designed to separate the psychologically needy from their dollars in exchange for a boatload of false hope and occluding nonsense about the truth of the Self. So give Enlightened-Spirituality.org a go when you’ve got a minute and the desire to cleanse your palate of all the superstitious nonsense that chokes the truth right out of spiritual culture in these times. –Jody, creator of the popular and controversial Guruphiliac blog at guruphiliac.blogspot.com.”

Timothy Conway promotes Jody Radzik (a known basher and trasher of Ammachi – Mata Amritanandamayi Ma) on his “spiritual” website. Jody Radzik’s critiques on Ammachi can be found here. As a matter of fact, Jody Radzik accused Ammachi (Mata Amritanandamayi Ma) of being:

“Greedy”

Money-hungry (or as Jody puts it, a “money-grubber”)

A “Hindu Nazi”

The “Al Qaeda Of India”

Creator of “Goonsgate”

The “Mistress Of The Hindu Right”

A “foaming-at-the-mouth radical nationalist”

Being allied with “people and goals of the radical, racist, Hindu nationalist right”

Somehow involved with “murders” of “mysterious circumstances” at her ashram

Enmeshed in an “Amma ‘Sex Scandal’”

Involved in a “Mind-Control TV Network” through Amma TV

Involved with “global domination”

Manipulative and weakening devotees minds with her “astral breast milk”

A rip off who “offer mammaries full of occluding nonsense to a world rife with infantilism”

The slurs go on and on…

As a matter of fact, Guruphiliac Jody Radzik made the following composite image of Amma (see how it is used on his blog here), merging her face with Osama Bin Laden (the image links directy to Radzik’s atman.net website: Ref):

Timothy Conway Promoted Guruphiliac Who Attacked Amma As Osama Bin Laden

This is the type of hate that Timothy Conway promotes on his “biggest and best site on spirituality”. Poor Timothy Conway. His research into the notable people he cites on his behalf is as thorough as his lamentable research into the Sai Controversy. Attempting to bolster his illustrious reputation (sarcasm implied) Timothy Conway cited Jody Radzik (a promoter of raves and illegal psychedelic drugs) on his behalf. Not only does Jody Radzik bash Ammachi, he also bashes and lies about other Gurus as well. Timothy Conway promotes a man who claims he is self-realized, needs “to be stoned ALL the time”, is Kali Ma’s “sex slave” and hears the voice of Kali Ma in his head. Nice friend you got there, Timothy.

This information is going to be very disconcerting to all the Amma devotees who can often be seen citing the following quote from Timothy Conway describing Ammachi as:

“one of the most glorious lights to appear in the history of religion. Just her stamina – embracing these millions of people one by one, day after day, without a break, all over the world-is some kind of divine gift. No mere human resources could accomplish this.”

November 27th 2007 Update: Timothy Conway contacted Gerald Joe Moreno by email and informed him that although he hesitantly posted Jody’s blurbs on his official website, he was fully aware of Jody’s attacks against Amma and her devotees. Timothy Conway defended Jody Radzik and said he is “actually very positive about her (Amma) in many contexts, and has defended her to many of his readers”. Rubbish! Timothy said he was unaware of Jody’s “Amma Bin Laden” photo (how did that escape a PhD researcher?) and removed Guruphiliac Jody Radzik’s comments from his website. Good call and nice damage-control, Timothy. Interested readers can view Timothy Conway’s comment (expressing gratitude to Jody Radzik on his Guruphiliac blog) HERE.

The Community Defence Initiative (CDI) is enthusiastically backed by Stanley McChrystal, the US general commanding Nato forces in Afghanistan. Special forces will be able to access money from a US military fund to pay for the projects. US special forces are supporting anti-Taliban militias as part of a secretive programme that experts warn could fuel long-term instability in the country. The hope is that the militias supplement the Nato and Afghan forces fighting the Taliban. But the prospect of re-empowering militias after billions of international dollars were spent after the US-led invasion in 2001 to disarm illegally armed groups alarms many experts.

Obama hope the militias will encourage an increasingly demoralized Afghan population to take a stake in the war against the Taliban. By aiding the militias, Obama and Afghan officials hope to rapidly increase the number of Afghans fighting the Taliban. That could supplement the American and Afghan forces already here, and whatever number of American troops Obama might decide to send. The growth of the anti-Taliban militias runs the risk that they could turn on one another, or against the Afghan and American governments. Militias have begun taking up arms against the Taliban in several places where insurgents have gained a foothold, including the provinces of Nangarhar and Paktia.

The US government will make a pot of $1.3bn (£790m) available for the programme. The $1.3 billion in development funds for militias and warlords adds to US spending in Afghanistan, which totals $3.6 billion per month. Good decision or Bad decision?

Warren Farrell is an icon for radical mens cells as Osama bin laden is for the violent Jihad moveme

Warren Farrell is an icon for radical mens cells as Osama bin laden is for the violent Jihad movement. References from his books can bee seen on nearly every radical mens cell in the world. In his book The Myth of Male Power, he distorts the perception of women as though they are an object to exploit and despise of if they do not submit to every demand. His literature has become the precipice of rage towards government and the erosion of basic human rights of women and children at their mercy. One of the most alarming aspects of this leader, is his promotion of incest and rape:

In penthouse magazine interview, he referred to incest as though it were a positive experience for all family members concerned:

In an article called Jihad and rape go hand in hand, the words are different, but the intent is the same:

One of the quotes of Warren Farrell, compares womens rights as though they are the war instigators:

The Al Qaeda had a similar message when France made a law against burkas to stop the subjecting of women:

In both statements, it was made out to be that those who try to promote the rights of women are the ones who are terrorists.

Vejamos:

1) New York City tem 11 letras.
2) Afeganistão tem 11 letras.
3) ‘The Pentagon’ tem 11 letras.

Ivan Gerardo Cruz - Author/Contributor of Bloggers of The Americas

A few days ago the prestigious Forbes magazine published its traditional listing of the most powerful in the world and for the second consecutive year was listed the Mexican drug trafficker from Sinaloa Cartel, the drug lord Joaquin “El Chapo” Guzman, a fact which again aroused reactions of all sides.

Perhaps for many of us it is both surprising and also outrageous that the American publication dared to qualify as powerful a terrorist who has built his fortune in the shadow of illegality and immorality. And the more incomprehensible it is to be included in a list of renowned personalities, including 65 world leaders, politicians, industrialists and bankers. But what can we do about it if it’s true. Sadly so.

A man who is able to earn between 6 and 19 billion dollars in less than 8 years, by traficking cocaine into the most powerful country in the world, must have some power. Or not? Maybe I would have placed him much higher on the list and not in the position 41. Another thing is to agree on how.

But best to disguise the power of Guzman and in order not to create critics as last year, is that Forbes had put Guzmán on a list of the richest, or in a special of the most evil and powerful, or perhaps the rich and powerful world’s most wanted, something like that … But the publication was clear and put Guzmán back on the list. Complete success.

At the time the narco business was in the hands of the Colombian drug trafficker Pablo Escobar Gavíria, who died in 1992, Gaviria also came to figure among the 30 richest and most powerful men in the world, and in Colombia they were also reactions against this, on the grounds that the list was condoning a criminal. But unfortunately he was the most powerful in Colombia and made a whole country to its knees.

Rich and powerful

It is not the same be rich and powerful. Some of these 67 characters in the FORBES list could appear on both lists, some as the most powerful man in the world, U.S. President Barack Obama, first in the list, probably will never appear in the list of the richest one hundred.

However, on the controversial list also appears the most wanted terrorist in the world. Osama Bin Laden, leader of the terrorist cell responsible for Al Qaeda and the terrorist bombing that killed more than three thousand people in the Twin Towers in New York on 11 September 2001 Bin Laden is located in 37th place, above Guzman.

Both Bin Laden as the narco lord appeared on both lists for a long time, to the chagrin of the governments of the United States and Mexico, mostly.

German Chancellor Angela Merkel, is in 15th place and is the most powerful woman. While Secretary of State Hillary Clinton is down two places. The third woman included in the list is the television host Oprah Winfrey at the 45th.

For now only three women appear in the Forbes list and just three Hispanics in addition to the Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (33).

Mexico’s Telmex tycoon Carlos Slim is sixth in the ranking and the colorful president of Venezuela, Hugo Chávez, is the last on the list (67). The other is Guzman.

Slim also joined the list of the richest being among the three richest men in the world for a couple of years and certainly Hugo Chavez, but I do not know his personal fortune, could also be in the list of 100 richest because his detractors and political enemies say they what he has stolen in Venezuela is incalculable.

This unfortunately shows that Latin America is still underdeveloped and that its leaders are too crude to assume important roles as business partners for the rest of the world. Lula da Silva may be the exception now.

Chavez’s case is clear. If Venezuela does not have the oil that the country has, the former Venezuelan military would be just like another regular president. Ordinary and without many followers. However, the oil wealth of his country, his ideas and his peculiar socialist anti-American oratory was applauded by many, have catapulted him as one of the most powerful and influential men in the world. And so we understand it all.

In an interview with the New Statesman, the fourth eldest son of the world’s most wanted man said that he “passionately wants to try to stop violence”.

Asked whether he plans to enter politics or public life, Mr bin Laden said: “I do not believe that I would be a good politician – I have a habit of speaking the truth, even when it does not serve me well. But I would like to be in a position to promote peace. I believe that the United Nations would be ideal for me.”

He said he ended contact with his father in April 2001 but that he was once asked to take up arms at a meeting with his fighters.

“His sons were in attendance, although none of us was a fighter,” he said. “He spoke of how it is a great honour to give one’s life for Islam and said anyone who wanted to give their life should put their name on a paper in the mosque.

“He never asked me to join al-Qaeda, but he did tell me I was the son chosen to carry on his work. He was disappointed when I said I was not suited to that life. I do not like disagreement or violence.”

Mr bin Laden also described his memory of the 11 September 2001 attacks in America that his father is said to have carried out.

“I had been sound asleep and was woken by my uncle yelling: ‘Look what your father has done!’,” he said.

“I went into the sitting area and my family were gathered around the television. I soon learned that America was under attack. It was a very sad day.”

“I did not agree with my uncle’s reaction. I never thought my father was capable of the carnage in America – it was too big for his small organisation.

“I cannot speak for my father’s family. This topic is too painful for us to talk about. We were all so shocked by the suffering of those poor people that, after that morning, none of us ever had a conversation about it.”

Mr bin Laden’s experiences have been documented in a book Growing Up Bin Laden, Osama’s Wife and Son take us Inside their Secret World. He coauthored the book with his mother, Najwa, and best-selling writer Jean Sasson.

In the book, which was published last month by St Martin’s Press, he describes his childhood as “sad and lonely” because of his father’s “passion for supporting the Afghan people against the Russians”.

He added: “Although my father was stern and did not hesitate to use his cane, there were good times when he stopped his war plans and played with us.

“My father could be very kindly and he was very close to his mother. I remember his face glowing with happiness when he was with her.”

A House Divided: America’s Inside Battle

There is one reason that should keep you, my fellow American, from sleeping at night: Our once great Nation, The United States of America, is on longer the industrial, military, or financial leader on the world stage. No, although we might be the only country capable of claiming “Super Power” is no longer an industrial leader, a military leader, or a financial leader on the world stage. We might be the only Superpower left on the planet…but if this is true, why do we feel so unsettled and exposed?

America is a House Divided. Although I don’t agree with certain things “Pat Buchanan,” he has his moments; in my opinion, he nailed it when he wrote:

While America was consumed this summer with quarrels over town-hall radicals, “death panels”, the “public option” and racism’s role in the plunging polls of Barack, what happens to health care is not going to change the history of the world.

What happens in Afghanistan might. [Emphasis-Mine]

Gen. Stanley McChrystal has done his duty. He has bluntly told his commander in chief what he must have in added combat troops and warned that if he does not get them, America faces “mission failure.”

Was the commander in chief listening? Probably not, but who knows? The only time that he seems to pay attention is when there’s a sound byte or photo op attached. Maybe he did listen. My respect for him went out the window the first time that I saw him not salute the flag or say the Pledge of Allegiance. He is the final military authority in the Nation, and maybe the world, and he won’t pay homage to the Nation that allowed his family to enter the country, set up their lives, and take a shot at the American dream? He fucking fulfilled it, but he won’t respect it? Of course, when 18 US Soldiers killed in Afghanistan were returned to US soil two weeks ago, Obama made a surprise trip to pay his respects. At first I was impressed, which is rare when it comes to Barack Obama; then, I realized it was all PR as we were one week away from Veteran’s Day.

Mohammad, Mastermind of 9/11

Yes, our house is in chaos; yet, we spend our precious resources on Olympic bids, Harvard professors, and ensuring we’re in the history books, while the nation suffers. Meanwhile, our soldiers fight a war against radical Islamists on two separate fronts. To Obama’s credit, he did salute the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, where it’s written: HERE RESTS IN HONORED GLORY AN AMERICAN SOLDIER KNOWN BUT TO GOD. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t blame Obama for everything, just the things in his control. His approval rating just dropped below 50%, and despite the obvious photo shoot set-ups, his PR machine is faltering. Government transparency, his gospel political promise, has been pretty much forgotten, although that may be a result of his internet accounts being hacked twice since he’s been in office.

No Pledge President

I do blame senor Obama for the Khaleed Sheik Mohammad (KSM) debacle. What kind of President decides to put KSM, a terrorist mastermind, and other 9/11 terrorists on trial in the Federal Court system? How does Eric Holder, the Attorney General, guarantee a guilty verdict and the death penalty? It’s almost like this man has never practiced law in his life, because he just offered up grounds for a mistrial, a trial that’s going to be a mockery, or the fact that this is all part of the Obama show. It’s too bad that GW didn’t kill those bastards when he had the chance. Watching Eric Holder get grilled in front of the Senate was my favorite moment of this year. Obviously coached on what to do, what to say, and how to answer questions, Holder was crushed under the obvious stupidity of his actions. The OJ Simpson trial went off the rails; what makes Holder think that he can guarantee anything, let alone a verdict at what is supposed to be a fair trial.
At least, under Bush, I never worried that he wouldn’t take the moral high-ground, all public opinion aside, he would take the correct action. (We, all of us, loved Bush and Giuliani following 9/11…Left-wing Senators and Reps. voted to attack both Iraq and Afghanistan in case you don’t remember…If you;re bitching that I’m referring to an execution as morally correct, you might as well stop reading here…you aren’t prepared for truth). Yes, killing those that killed thousands, to most of America, is usually considered a just punishment. Although most of America doesn’t read, or even understand the Bible, capital punishment is approved.

The signs are all there that the nation is coming unglued. Although the murder rate changes year-to-year, one thing is certain; murders are more brutal than ever, and are often committed without serious thought to motive. People are murdered for looking at someone funny. An Islamic Psychiatrist, MajorNidal Malik Hasan decides to conduct his own cleansing by killing 14 fellow soldiers at Fort Hood. Although shot several times and paralyzed, he lives, ostensibly, to be put to death. At least Military Justice is swift and sure. Yet, our highly trained intelligence services, and the Army, weren’t able to put things together until after the murders. Like the problems encountered prior to 9/11, none of our clandestine groups collaborated; the CIA has some information, the Army had some information, and the FBI had some information. Yet, due to pride or stupidity, they don’t speak…leaving the door open for hijacked airplanes and

Zawahiri Recent Photo

Meanwhile, Pakistan has nuclear weapons. Bet you didn’t know that…but they do. And, in Peshawar, Pakistan over the last week the government’s decreed attacks on the Taliban strongholds. Although the government’s decision was supported by the populace, it’s the people who are paying the price. The Pakistani government is now in a tenuous situation as non-combatants have become the prime targets for suicide bombers. Since these, non-Koran supported and spineless attacks began:

More than 240 people have been killed and 665 injured in the wave of attacks on Peshawar, which have included a car bombing at the provincial headquarters of the ISI intelligence agency and an attack on a popular market which killed more than 100 people last month.

The city has borne the brunt of a Taliban onslaught in retaliation for the Pakistani army’s offensive in South Waziristan, where jihadi leaders have created a safe haven for al-Qaeda militants.

All have been killed in the name of Allah. As with the aholes in the US that commit murder-suicide, it’s simply a disillusioned coward’s way out of claiming responsibility. Funny, but none of the higher-ranking Talibs seem to be that eager to meet Allah…it’s always those that are disenfranchised and disillusioned. I guess the Talib leaders don’t want paradise.

Zawahiri the Idealist

Prior to the late 1980s, there were no really no suicide bombers. For Sunnis, it was against the will of Allah. For some, “Sheikh Yusuf al-Qaradawi, has called martyrdom operations:

“the greatest of all sorts of Jihad in the Cause of Allah. A martyr operation is carried out by a person who sacrifices himself, deeming his life less value than striving in the Cause of Allah, in the cause of restoring the land and preserving the dignity. “

Yet, even in most Islamic sects, suicide is morally reprehensible and separates the Muslim from God. Radical Islamists, dealing with either fanatics or impoverished converts, have taken the Koran and corrupted it for their own purposes. Unbelievably, it was the justification of one man, Ayman al-Zawahiri, founder of al-Jihad, that pulled it off. An extremely bright surgeon trained in Cairo , Zawahiri, also known as The Teacher is the unseen force behind Jihad.

“In 1998 al-Zawahiri formally merged Egyptian Islamic Jihad into al-Qaeda. According to reports by a former al-Qaeda member, he has worked in the al-Qaeda organization since its inception and was a senior member of the group’s shura council. He is often described as a “lieutenant” to Osama bin Laden, though bin Laden’s chosen biographer has referred to him as the “real brains” of al-Qaeda. Zawahiri provided radical Muslims the ultimate jihadist’s goal: Dying for Allah. Suicide and murder, especially of innocents, are forbidden in the Koran; yet under Zawahiri’s corrupt preaching anything that goes against Muslim, or Jihad, automatically is less than Islam and Allah. Thus, voting is seen as being against Islam, and therefore Democratic nations are automatic enemies. Zawahiri, the founder of Al Jihad and Bin Laden’s founder of Al Qaeda don’t really have much in common, personally or politically.

Desperate fanatics are drawn to one another, and in this case, each man had something the other wanted: Bin Laden stole his entire “belief system” and Zawahiri basically needed the money, which, at the time their paths crossed, Bin Laden possessed. Al Jihad became a part of Al Qaeda three years prior to 9/11. The terrorist organization now had a brain with a purpose. Soon, America would feel the effects of fanatic martyrs and launch two wars that would last from 2001 to present day.

NBC News-The Masterminds of 911 are going to be tried in New York City. Imagine that? Osama Bin Lind

NBC News-The Masterminds of 911 are going to be tried in New York City. Imagine that? Osama Bin Linden must of have been captured right? After all, isn’t he the mastermind of 911, wasn’t that what we were told and wasn’t that the reason we invaded Iraq and Afghanistan? Wait, no, we’re not talking about Bin Linden, we’re talking about Khalid Sheikh Mohammed and the other four conspirators allegedly involved in 911!

But let’s forget about this deception, because this absolutely is more important, if it is a real trial, and not another orchestrated event for public consumption, then there is a possibility for the truth to come out. That is why most of the Republican Party and those Democrats, who have also turned traitor to this country, do not want any such occurrence, because they are all involved in the biggest cover up since John Kennedy’s assassination. War tribunal’s accounts are easier to manipulate and keep hidden and that is why there is so many wanting to continue with the Bush secret agenda involved in invading the Middle East.

Our country’s war footing is all based on deceit and lies. These lies have allowed Corporate America’s Military-Industrial Complex, along with their associated companies, to rape and pillage our resources leaving us in the worst recession since the Great Depression. A multi-billion dollar military-industrial complex must have an excuse to be maintained and that is hard to do when there is no formidable enemy out there today, so when one does not exist, let’s create one! In the same manner that Project Northwood existed during the Kennedy Administration (a project that Kennedy discontinued when he discovered it), a plan where “stage” American aircraft were to be high jacked by phony Cubans and shot down with U.S. citizens aboard, giving the United States an excuse to invade Cuba.

There are a lot of scenarios that might happen to halt these trials from taking place in the United States, anything from assassination to another alleged terrorist plot. I do not think there is much chance for these trials to actually take place. The traitors are many and the consequences are grave. How to keep a cover-up covered up will be too daunting for the criminals just to hang loose.

What really happen on Sept 11, 2001, how did the so-called “airliners” actually bring down the towers and Building # 7? Millions know the truth; will you be one of them?

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/culture/culturenews/6603772/Osama-bin-Ladens-son-wants-to-work-for-UN.html
