I promised new post yesterday, but my internet was facing some problems, but finally here’s my first post of the day.

Since lately I am talking a lot about my childhood “cartoons” (which later I understood are actually animes), I think it was time to mention Digimon Adventure and Digimon Adventure 02 openings. Just like in other post, The videos I am sharing are the spanish latin versions of the openings, but what I’ll do is that I’ll translate the verses I will be using, in my own words,  in order to them to mean exactly the same as the spanish version (because in the english versions must of the time the lyrics aren’t the exact translation so the meaning changes).

In lasts posts that I wrote about openings or OST of animes I explain which version I prefer and why, so this won’t be the exception. To start, my favorite opening is actually “The Biggest Dreamer” from Digimon Tamers and I invite you to read my post about it. Then, well I like both of the Digimon Adventures’ opening the same, but honestly, in this particular case, I prefer the spanish version, and I have two reasons for saying this: 1. The english version isn’t bad at all but I think it ends up being too monotone (and well, it was the same song for both seasons) and 2. I’m sorry but when I grew up these where the openings I listened to so well nostalgic just don’t let me be neutral in this particular case. However, the spanish version are waaaay too corny for me.

Ok, so now I would like to explain that since I think these songs are corny, I won’t talk about the entire song, just some verses of each song (and that’s kind of the reason why I didn’t write two posts, one for each opening).

First, the opening for Digimon Adventure “Butterfly”. (I don’t know what you think but I think it looks pretty awesome the rhythm of the song while the kids are spinning and falling)

In this song, my favorite parts are the last two stanzas. In the first of them, I like the two first verses:

“Si tu lo deseas puedes volar, solo tienes que confiar mucho en ti” – lame translation: “If your really wish it you may be able to fly (or it could be “if you really dream of it you may be able to fly”) you only need to truly believe in yourself”. Mmm so, it speaks for itself right? Just believe that you are able of doing anything and you would do it.

Then, the second and last stanza:

“Si tu lo deseas puedes volar, si tu quieres el cielo alcanzar y las estrellas tocar…” – “If you really wish it you may be able to fly, if you really want to reach the sky and reach and touch the stars…” After theses verses the song ends with a long “DIIIGIIIMOOOOON” nevertheless I’m sure everybody gets the idea of what it means and how should it end. So this are actually my favorite verses because it wraps the idea of the last stanza while it adds the possibility of reaching the impossible, of reaching the sky and the stars, and for me, in this case, stars could actually mean dreams and goals, to really achieve anything you dream for. Another reason why I like this stanza is that at the same time the lyrics say this, the video shows T.K and Angemon, and well, when I was younger, the idea of having my own powerful angel that would save me and protect me when I needed and that won’t let me loose my faith was just amazing.

Next, Digimon Adventure 02′s opening “Target”. Again, you may read the lyrics in here. Well, the first thing I like about this song, is that it starts explaining that it’s continuing Digimon Adventure. The exact words are: “Volvemos a empezar, la historia se escribirá de nuevo” – “We start all over again, the story now would be rewritten” and at least for me it’s kind of cool that in this way, both seasons join together.

Then, at the second stanza in the last two verses it says “Llevamos adentro un héroe dormido, levántalo” – “We carry a hero inside of us, wake him up”. The idea is pretty obvious, is the same the last song explains that we actually are able of doing everything we want to, we just need to understand and wake up that hidden power that sometimes is still sleeping inside of us and can’t wake up because of our pessimism.

The last stanza, which is a longer than the rest, is the chorus and the end of the opening. I will be separating it in different ideas:

1. “Atravesemos con decisión, hasta un lejano confín” – ” With determination let us go through until we reach a far away corner”. If we want to achieve a goal, we have to face the entire road for achieving it with determination and all our will, and when it talks about a far away corner or border is like saying until you reach the end of the rainbow, which actually you won’t be able to do but surely it would keep you growing and giving your best.

2. “Difil será sin ceder, mirando fijo sin desfallecer” – “It would be difficult but don’t give up, keep looking focus and you won’t fail” There’s no much I can add, just never give up and for eluding failure you just need to keep a focus mind and don’t lose the road.

3. “Que los latidos del corazón, quemen su pecho con ardor” – “Let the heartbeats burn your chest with fervor”. For me, It  means that what must guide your way should be the heart, and to put every heartbeat on your actions, to transform a heartbeat to a step closer to your dream. Thinking about this in a perfectionist perspective, I think we should rethink if whatever we do is worth all the heartbeats and time we spend on it; sometimes I sacrifice time with my family and friends for work, and sadly the reality is that someday, my heart would just stop pumping, so, all the time I spend in the work was worth it? Brings second thoughts right?

4. “Aquel mañana que se olvido, volvamos todos a recuperar, en la batalla que va iniciar” – “That tomorrow we all forgot, we are going to get back, in the battle that’s about to begin”. You all may know that “tomorrow” is a way of saying the future people dream about, that moment in which we’ll forget, survive and solve all the problems of the “today”, so in this case it’s saying that we would regain the hope and faith in finally achieving that “utopia”, however we won’t just get it magically, but we would need to fight for it, and it’s not a one person’s fight, WE ALL have to participate (and just to be sure I’m not giving any wrong idea, I don’t mean to participate in a violent war or anything like that, I mean in the peaceful way with our hearts – see? talking about corny songs makes me start saying corny stuff….)

So, a summary would be that what I like about Digimon openings is that they don’t only say “dream”, but tell you “fight for your dreams”. They always have this fighting for achieving goals messages with transmit a positive and motivating feeling, so now  I understand why every time I heard them I end up believe that in the future I would have to save the word and the good ones always defeat the bad guys.

very obviously large part of India’s populace, esply the men are impaired by ingrained patriarchy, misogyny and the dump of macho bull; these are the guys ogling, groping, molesting and worse, oft perps of domestic violence; damaging public property during protests; littering, ‘scratching’ & spitting openly…..

Now, any form of commerce or commercial art – not overseen, ‘regulated’ effectively, honestly – can make lots of profits by pandering to, gratifying these corrupted machoman instincts. It can be in the form of a product advert, film song or scene, or the whole film itself to selling cars!…… In effect these unethical ‘products’ & proposals legitimize the lewd & depraved thinking, including on women, and the control seeking, oft violent & criminal behavior therein.

That’s what the ‘Fevicol se’ “song” does, and sure enough this otherwise well composed ‘Item No’, and its ‘Lyrics’,  with great moves by Kareena got hugely popular, and helped in increasing the film’s overall buzz and then revenues, in the process, making lots of money for everybody involved, from Producers to Sponsors.

Apart from glaring lack of self regulation, other disheartening aspects of this “song” are that it was a prominent part of a film created by an important ‘Bollywood’ film family, and the “song” was sponsored by a leader of Indian Industry via a top Advertising Co, with brilliant creatives, writers; all of whom, for commercial self interests, were in denial of lyrics’ so obvious inappropriate, regressive thought process in the form of words, which in effect encourages the pathetic stereotype of treating women as objects.

That said, right since its inception 100 years ago, the Indian Film Industry, legitimately funded ‘Bollywood’ & others have done more than their bit for Equality and Empowerment, making it cool in many films and creating awareness, changing attitudes outside of films too.

Over the past few years, and particularly since Delhi Rape and subsequent protests the Industry have become more sensitive to these critical Women and Gender issues. For instance Priyanka Chopra recently insisted on first perusing and approving the lyrics of her ‘Item No’ in a big Film, a move applauded by all activists, including Shabana Azmi (with whom the actor had had a disagreement over the subject earlier).

Though they have brought about a lot of it, mostly good, Social Change is not the Indian Film Makers’ job, but alongside Integrity of work needs to be always paramount: regulated by self or/and otherwise, the Indian Film Fraternity, and their associates (in funding, promotion, distribution, exhibition…) can do more in ensuring that no aspect of their Art are compromised, exploited for seeking unethical, illegit popularity and profits.

Not exactly sure what I was trying to achieve in that, but a couple of my old blogs were named “the alpha blogg” because of the supreme creature in the blogg family who made their name in the aquatic life of a submerged temple in Torvus Forest, cough I mean Torvus BOG cough.
Well it turned into a bog after the whole planet of Aether got screwed over the attempt and success of the hazardous and dangerous shadow race known as the ing and they pulled out the light from the temples built by the Luminoth race, which was corrupted and taken to an echo world of almost duplication except the fact that it has been darkened and a poisonous atmosphere is present, possessed and violent creatures roam as ings guard corrupted and darkened doppelgänger temples.

And it’s the only fucking game I haven’t finished, and it’s the only fucking disc that got scratched out of the Metroid Prime Series I own (well It’s my uncles but I kind just you know… Have them)

Such a beautiful, disturbing, scary and depressing game.
Not only being completely alone (which I have not much problem with) but the dark aether features warped constricted and depressed versions of the original aether not only in music soundtracking but visuals, creatures, and just the feeling of walking through the darkness and creepyness of the world just made it 10x worse, the creatures were a nuisance (the dark creatures were worse) and it was such a freakin chore finding everything while having to watch my back for random ings and space pirates materialising.

Seriously?

Just shoot me.

But games like Metroid Prime (especially 1 and what I’m talking about number 2: echoes), Metroid: Zero Mission/: Other M, Abe’s Oddysee/Exodus Portal/2, and Braid, just freaking crazy frustrating and maddening but are my favourite few games in the world for the puzzling manner that it’s more about the mystery of a weird demented world than just your usual shoot em up or normal puzzle game.
And I’m so thankful for them.
It helped with my imagination, my vocab, artistically, my ear for OSTs, puzzle solving, logical and leftfield thinking.
It’s something you have to think twice or even five+ times to figure that stuff out, and you just want to throw the game console/tv/computer through a wall but you just need to finish that damn game.

I hope you have something from childhood to take with you forever.
To influence you in many ways.
Because my leftfield gaming experience sure as hell did.

Mig og kæresten tog en tapas aften (igen) igår vi elsker det, og det er så hyggeligt at man kan sidde og spise, snakke og rigtig hygge en hel aften! Det er et yderst populært koncept herhjemme lige pt, og mmm det er lækkert! Vi valgte at bruge oliven i forskellige afskygninger, feta, hele hvidløg, tomater, rød peberfrugt, emmentaler ost, tørret spansk tapas skinke/salami/chorizo, vindruer, pate, aioli, syltede agurker, pesto, olivenolie, ciabatta brød og små ristede stykker brød man kan vælger hvad som helst. Jeg elsker personligt at det er så lækkert at der er en masse at vælge imellem..

Me and my boyfriend had a tapas evening (again) yesterday we love it and it’s so nice to sit and eat, talk and really enjoy a great evening! It is an extremely popular concept in our home right now. mmm it’s delicious! We chose to use olives in various guises, feta, whole garlic, tomatoes, red peppers, Emmental cheese, dried Spanish tapas ham / salami / chorizo, grapes, pate, aioli, pickles, pesto, oliveoil, ciabatta bread and roasted small pieces of bread you can choose anything. I personally love the fact that there is it is alot to choose from in different dishes..
