No te preocupes.

Efecto final

Transmission is my personal favorite because its very light weight and has a simple intuitive interface.

 uTorrent

The reason i choose Transmission over uTorrent is because in Transmission you have complete control over how the Torrents are added, removed, bandwidth limits etc. uTorrent definitely has these controls but i found them lacking.

The instructions that come with the FIVe3D font making utility are pretty clear overall but on OS X 10.4 it can be confusing to find which WindowSWF folder to use. Is it /Applications/Adobe Flash CS4/en/Configuration/WindowSWF/ ? Or is it /Applications/Adobe Flash CS4/Common/First Run/WindowSWF/ ?

Actually, the place to put “Make a new typography file.swf” is here: /Users/youruserhandle/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Flash CS4/en/Configuration/WindowSWF/.

I used a font called Roadkill. When the font was created, the Flash CS4 Output window said: ‘”Roadkill.as” is in the current folder.’

Since my hard drive is partitioned, it wasn’t immediately clear what was meant by “current folder” in this case. The font.fla file I used to create Roadkill.as via the font-making utility was on the 2nd partition, i.e. not on the main partition.

It turns out “current folder” meant the top most directory on the main partition on my OS X machine, right next to Users, Developer, Library, Applications, System.

After seeing the following post, many possibilities came to mind. Notes: Pretty print XML But workin

After seeing the following post, many possibilities came to mind.

Notes: Pretty print XML

But working with XMPP and SAPO Broker, I’m always copy&pasting XML from one place to the other and it would be nice to format the XML snippet sitting in the clipboard.

This pipe does the trick quite nicely:

pbpaste | xmllint –format – | pbcopy

I wrapped this into a script, called x-xml-format-clipboard and now its just one command away from gratification.

In the end I came up with a couple that I use a lot after searching the web. The possibilities are endless but these are neat for me. In Eclipse I can’t easily transform text unless I install AnyEdit which I have on other systems. But I haven’t yet on this one. So the transforms are simple:

upper to lower:

#!/bin/bash

pbpaste | tr '[:lower:]' '[:upper:]' | pbcopy

lower to upper:

#!/bin/bash<br /><br />pbpaste | tr '[:upper:]' '[:lower:]' | pbcopy<br />

remove blank lines:

#!/bin/bash<br /><br />pbpaste | grep -v '^

Every now and then I like to do a bunch of quick calcs with references back to previous calcs. I can use iPython which is really powerful tool since it’s an advanced interactive frontend to python. But this is just a neat little tip.

[awk] Command line calculator using awk « *NIX tricks

This is an update on our bash command line calculator posted a few days ago — except for the fact that this time we’ll use awk to do the calculation instead of bc. As I mentioned in that post, you may use python or ruby (irb) to do the same thing, but these tricks may be useful if you don’t ruby or python installed (bc and awk, in general, come by default in any Unix or GNU/Linux distro).

First, create (or rewrite if you used our last trick) function “?” as follows and put it in your ~/.bashrc file:
? () { awk “BEGIN{ print $* }” ;}

and make sure to reload your ~/.bashrc file (do the similar thing if you’re using any other shell). [NOTE: ZSH does not like ``?'' as a function, so you might consider replacing it with something reasonable, e.g., ``compute'']

Now, if you want to calculate an expression, do it, for example, as
$ ? “2*3+4.0*(9.9+8.1)”

and don’t forget the quotes.

1) Up to date with baseline 0.135u1 (RB)

2) Compile fix for PowerPC Linux (and BSD?) targets (sashz)

3) IA64=1 compile option changed to NOASM=1. This is the first step towards being able to build SDLMAME for ARM and other architectures we don’t explicitly support. (RB)

I almost forgot, don’t forget to download the proper version. There are Universal (non-intel) and Intel optimized (x86) versions. Make sure you download the one that will work best for you! I think this is the first time there is an Intel optimized version over here in Mac land. I used to look at that “Intel Optimized” with a gleam of envy in my eyes.

You can also check out the SDL homepage for more information and downloads. Cheers!

The mac mini is hooked up with a 22 inch LCD, so, the screen size is bigger than the macbook. If you hit on the green buttons, you’ll get iTunes turn into mini player.
5 min ago, I thought “maybe I should jailbreak my iPhone since I’m thinking of selling it”

so, I firefox pulled up blackra1n (blackrain) since I’d heard of it before, and quickly went

and 60 seconds later,

Over the period of writing this, I had opened blackra1n on the iPhone and chosen Cydia and ROCK

these completed installing,

and the super-slow Cydia, slowest of the slow, can’t say enough things slowly about how terribly slow Cydia is and how slow it continues to be.

Google released the source code for its latest project, the Chrome OS as we all know, with a demonst

Google released the source code for its latest project, the Chrome OS as we all know, with a demonstration of the current version of the Chrome OS (can be seen here). If you want to try out the OS for yourself you can do so by downloading it from here, extracting and mounting it onto your VMware.

Google Chrome OS turns out to be an OS dedicated to running one application and one application only, that is the Google Chrome browser. All other tasks are done using web apps such as Google docs, Office Web apps and so on. Thats right, there seems to be no desktop applications installed, or installable to play your music, edit your photos, or anything else for that matter, offline. But I’m assuming there will be some sort of offline support (like in gmail) for docs and other web apps and to play your music from your music library in your hard-disk. But wait! according to what Ive read, there is no offline file storage, everything is synced and stored in the cloud. In the demonstration you can see how they typed something in their version of notepad and it automatically cached onto google docs. Now im not against storing information online, i would love to be able to access all my files on anycomputer after logging in with my profile, like how it already is on gmail. I think it would complete the user experience but i think Google is taking it a bit too far.

As good as cloud computing would be, desktop apps and offline storage is a must. The netbooks that Google is planning to release next year with their final Chrome OS, has no hard disk, instead they will be using SSDs. This, my fellow readers as you would know, is a good thing because speeds would increase. Boot times apparently are going to be under 3 seconds because they have eliminated all splash screens, boot loaders and other processes that normally would take place on booting Windows,OSX, Ubuntu, or any other operating system. This is quite impressive, but what is Chrome OS offering that the above OSs don’t/cant,apart from the fast boot and instant logon to the cloud? All the mentioned operating systems are capable of running a wide range of browsers including but not limited to Google Chrome, webapps and desktop applications.I dont see the point of spending a couple of hundred in buying a brand new handicapped netbook with Chrome OS, when I can easily do everything Chrome OS has to offer plus more on any other OS

So it turns out that Chrome OS is not as interesting as thought to be. Faliure? I think not but Chrome OS does not seem to offer much at the moment, but with the developer code being out and the release date months away, Google has time to fix!
