It undeniably proves both your identity and your citizenshipDue to the Western Hemisphere Travel Initiative a passport or other valid WHTIcompliant document is now required of American citizens who plan to travel by land sea or air to Canada Mexico Bermuda or the Caribbean region The new passport card can only be used for land and sea travel to these locationsTravel VisaThe second most common foreign entry requirement is a travel visa Most travelers believe that a visa gives them the right to enter the country for which they obtained a visa The truth is that a visa only gives you permission to arrive at the portofentry There an authorized official will analyze your entry documents to make sure they are correct It is the official who will grant you permission to enter or notNot all countries require US citizens to obtain a visa in order to visit Some countries grant visas upon arrival at the portofentry Visas are granted according to the purpose of your trip The different types include tourist visas business visas study visas work visas transit visas crew visas and resident visasThe easiest to get is a visa for tourism The usual requirements include a valid passport many countries require at least six months validity passportstyle photos completed application form and payment The other types of visas have additional requirementsOther Entry RequirementsWhile additional foreign entry requirements are not very common they are mentioned here so that you may be aware of them These entry requirements are usually demanded of countries where conflict or other serious problems exist If you believe your destination is such a place you should verify the exact foreign entry requirementsAdditional requirements might include an immunization record This is often requested of foreign consular services when you claim on your visa application that you have recently traveled to areas infected with yellow fever cholera or other such diseases The United States does not require immunizations for you to returnSome countries require AIDSHIV testing This requirement was much more common just ten years ago Less and less countries are demanding AIDSHIV testing as an entry requirement It is usually only required of applicants who plan to remain for an extended period of time For example Cuba requires AIDSHIV testing from students on scholarship and India requires it from resident visa applicantsAll countries have entry and exit requirements Some are stricter than other No matter your destination you will do yourself a favor by knowing and obtaining the foreign entry requirements for the country or countries you plan to visit

With the effects of climate change being felt around the world the Maldives could end up being underwater and might not even exist by 2100 according to the Maldives housing and environment minister Mohamed Aslam To highlight the problems faced by his country and the people who live there the charismatic president of the Maldives Mohamed Nasheed staged an underwater cabinet meeting in October 2009 President Nasheed and his government are planning to make the Maldives carbon neutral by 2020 not only to help slow down the affect that climate change is having on the Maldives but also to push the rest of the world into action to prevent environmental disasters across the world Resorts are being encouraged to adopt ecofriendly carbon neutral technology and practices and the people of Male the capital of the Maldives are being encouraged to walk cycle or drive clean energy vehicles Ferry companies are being encouraged to use cleaner fuels and there are wind farms being built to help the country meet all its energy needs Resorts are also taking it upon themselves to find new ways to use renewable sources for energy and to cut down on their carbon footprint The resort of Soneva Fushi has invested in solar power and has been experimenting in using cold sea water from 300 metres down to cool rooms instead of using power hungry air conditioning They are also using a special oven to turn waste wood into charcoal or biochar which they use in gardening as it improves soil productivity and is a carbon neutral process For the country to keep promoting Maldives holidays might seem an oxymoron when you are trying to create a carbon neutral country but tourism accounts for 28 of its GDP and the project to create a carbon neutral Maldives could cost an estimated 1bn to implement Other alternatives such as artificial islands and research into coral reefs that could help protect the islands will cost large sums of money too so tourism will still have to play a vital part in this countrys uncertain future

And they were more than happy to help us with what vehicles to choose Through correspondence with them through their website wwwbridgendmotorhomescouk we were able to decide which vehicles we would lease At first we wanted to get one motorhome for all eleven of us but when we got there our friends at the Bridgend motorhomes decided to lend us another one at minimal cost so we were able to get two motorhome vehicles for the price of oneWe rented the 2005 Reg Burstner from them which was one of the biggest in the lot and they lent us the 1998 Reg eldis motorhome for a song Once they found out that my parents would be coming the owners of the Bridgend motorhomes actually went with us for our week long excursion and had my parents ride with them It was a great site to see three huge motorhomes running through the country roads It almost seemed like a caravan of sorts In fact some people did stop by and asked if we were on a tour or an exhibition or somethingSince we had locals with us on tour we were exposed to some of the best sites that are off the tourist grid in the UK Evenings were spent cooking meals together as we would cook our own special meals for the lot The kids being kids had fun whatever they were doing wherever they have been The nice walks along the countryside enabled my wife and I to spend quality time and enjoying the country air that green patches of land that could be seen for miles and milesWe spent our last night at the leisure park of the Bridgend motor homes The owners invited us for a dinner in the town And when we arrived at the pub we were greeted by their employees who took time and effort to cook some of their specialties like kidney pies and bangers There was even a lady Madlyn if I remember who baked some of the best custard pies I have ever tastedIn the end I actually bought the motorhome from them to be used as an investment whether it be rented or sold I am happy to say that from that small investment I believe I have made a lifelong friendship with them The motorhome is just a bonus but from what I gather from our recent emails I may get my return of investment sooner than I think

Its estimated that there were between 200 and 300 Australian Aboriginal languages at the time of first European contact though there are now only about 70 left throughout the continent Traditions and respect for ancient civilizations live on alongside a largely urbanized modernday Australia one of the most conventionally recognisable elements of Australia culture is a love for sport Cricket and football are subjects of heated and patriotic passion its certainly a sight to behold and a wonderful thing to feel part ofMusic is an important part of the culture especially that of the aborigines and living with the locals youll doubtless get the chance to have a go It really is a continent full of new and exciting experiences from swimming with dolphins on the Adelaide coast to getting involved in with the Bangarra Dance Theatre in Sydney Harbour living and working in Australia gives you a taste of another worldEducational standardBeing a massively popular travel destination and following a period of economic growth in the 1990s Australias education system is topnotch Composed of a mixture of public schools private schools and institutions it has amongst the highest participation rates in the world with 31 of the adult population completing higher education and a 99 literacy rate A hugely varied culture means there isnt a specific national language but Australian English is the most widely spoken so its important for speakers of other languages to master the basicsThe Australian Government and various education and training providers have combined their efforts to establish the AIEF Australian International Education Foundation The purpose of the foundation is to promote the high standard of education training and research opportunities Australia has to offer to foreign students and immigrants while also keeping standards high and encouraging more students to study here both good things for TEFL teachersTeaching opportunitiesWith the high educational standard and bundles of fantastic travel opportunities Australia is just as exciting for people wishing to learn English as those wanting to teach it The most popular areas for English language teachers are Sydney Perth Brisbane Cairns and Melbourne where students are mostly European and the cities have larger populations New South Wales is particularly good if you want to offer private tuitionThe strict immigration requirements mean that the majority of your students will be hoping to find employment after the completion of their other studies Australia is also a popular immigration destination and a large number of pupils may be immigrants from nonEnglish speaking countries in Asia South America and EuropePlacements are usually fairly casual running for an average of 13 weeks and usually paying between A2400 and A4600 per month depending on your qualifications and experience To obtain a visa as a teacher you will need a 12month Working Holiday Visa available to 1830 year olds from the UK Ireland Canada the USA and several other countries Small private schools may take on TEFLqualified teachers but bigger schools will require an ELICOS English Language Intensive Courses for Overseas Students certificate or CELTA qualification and most schools will also require a university degreeFacilitiesThe standard and cost of living are quite high in Australia so living on your own is expensive Though the cost is on a par with most Western countries the cities are pricey and a small flat or townhouse can cost anything from A200300 per week while living in shared accommodation can be as little as A100 each week Sharing is usually the best option and most accommodation is of a high standard sharing a room can dramatically cut costs but if you dont want to sacrifice your space a room on a guesthouse a homestay or a hostel might be best Hostels are found in most cities and offer cheaper rates with all the things youll need at hand and homestays can give you the chance to really become part of the Australian way of life

EU nationals will generally only require a valid passport and will receive a 90 day visa on arrival

EU nationals will generally only require a valid passport and will receive a 90 day visa on arrival Eastern European nationals are will probably only be entitled to 30 day visas but this doesnt apply everywhere so check with your consulate before you book yourself a placePaid WorkTo stay on the right side of the law working and earning money abroad will definitely require a working holiday visa Some countries can be quite strict so its a good idea to do your research The working holiday scheme in Japan will only accept British Citizens up to the age of 25 for 12 months at a time while South Africa requires British citizens to be currently studying and recent graduates to work for up to a 12 month period EU Citizens working in the EU wont require a visa but staying longer than a few months may require a residence permit Either way youll need a passport valid for 6 months after your stayTypes of visasA few months is a short period of time but if youre looking at travelling or working in one country for 3 months or longer the fact is you will need a visa The company arranging your trip can help you with specific advice and can tell you what sort of visa application youll need but they cant send it for you nor can they pay the fees will be up to you Its always better to be prepared so here are a few more details about the types of visa availableTourist visaYour visa will be only for the country you are travelling in so if you want to go elsewhere make sure you meet the entry requirements Pay close attention to the validity when applying making sure that it will last the length of your trip You can only be in a country while the visa is valid In some countries it is possible to extend your visa but it can be tricky so ensure you have the embassys number in your phoneIts illegal to work on a tourist visa and consequences can range from fines to imprisonment so its not a good idea to get your visas muddled up So remember when applying paid work requires some kind of work visaWorking holiday visaNecessary to legally earn money whether its teaching English abroad for a few months or working as a journalist for a few years Be warned several countries have age restrictions So while its OK to be a 38yearold working in the USA the age restriction in Australia is 1830 so taking a late career break may be a little trickierShorter visits will be easier to organise but if youre planning to make a career out of working abroad the vetting process will be much more in depth you may also need to renew your visa each year until you reach the limit of hoe many years you can stayBusiness visaIf youre travelling this is something youre unlikely to come across Business visas are required for to stay overseas on a businessrelated matter This is usually a short stay to attend a conference training session to conduct business or business negotiations with an in country organization It all sounds very official and only applies if your trip relates to the company you already work for

And there arent many holidays where the travel and accommodation is rolled into one 4 Back to nature Staying in a hotel is all very well but its hardly getting back to nature Customers returning from their motorhome hire in Ireland campingcar location en Irlande always comment on the sunsets views and flora and fauna that they have seen on their travels often having stayed in their camper right in the middle of the picturepostcard landscape 5 Luxurious camping Not everyone likes the idea of roughing it however and many customers have expressed their enjoyment of the luxuriousness of a campervan as opposed to camping Even hotellovers are impressed by the cooking sleeping shower and toilet facilities in a Celtic Campervan 6 Familyfriendly The littlest of Celtic Campervans customers are often the most gleeful on return from their trip and theyre always accompanied by happy and relaxed parents too grateful that constantly being on the go meant that the kids were never bored 7 Off the beaten track Feedback shows that discovering your own hidden gem whether thats a pub or a picnic stop a village or a view is one of the favourite things about discovering the world around you on a campervan holiday 8 Beauty of Ireland While customers have hired Celtic Campervans to travel all over Europe its people that have hired motorhomes in Ireland campingcars in Irlandethat have waxed lyrical the most about the beauty of the country they have discovered road by road village by village city by city 9 Great for sport Many customers have hired a motorhome from Celtic Campervans in order to take part in a sport from organised triathlons to surfing holidays They love the fact that they can fit all sorts of sporting equipment in the campervan without sacrificing comfort and can drive right up to the surf or other sporting location 10 Get lost It may seem strange but a lot of Celtic Campervans customers return with happy memories of getting lost while on their travels While the maps provided with the motorhomes mean they can never go too far off track some of the best finds have been by accident according to customers And with so many people using Sat Nav for the rest of the year being able to rely purely on whim while on holiday is fantastically freeing These are just some of the reasons that people love a Celtic Campervans motorhome holiday To find out what yours will be visit wwwcelticcampervanscom and book your trip

The addon policies cover for accidental damage to park property that may occur during a stay at the holiday camp but they also cover more usual eventualities that you would expect from UK travel insurance cover such as cancellation protection and illness requiring hospitalisation during the holidayTellingly one of the eventualities covered is if redundancy prevents you from being able to pay for your holiday It is also amusing that the holiday parks insurance for travelling in the UK mentions a scenario where extreme weather stops holidaymakers from reaching their destination With the effect of global warming becoming increasingly perceptible and with localised flooding in areas of Britain again this summer perhaps this contingency is not so laughableAlthough the cover offered by the holiday parks seems good travellers should bear in mind that you can get the same single trip cover for half the price from companies that specialise in UK travel insurance There are even deals online that beat offers made by the post office and major supermarket chainsIt is also worth considering that an annual policy could work out cheaper if you take multiple trips within one year with all those weekends away covered too And a UK travel insurance policy from some providers will also cover you for travelling to Ireland or the Channel Isles It seems insurance companies are less particular than the Scottish Police about where you travel within the UK
