Dacă Sirona şi Photine fură acceptate de către toţi comesenii cu seninătate, nu la fel de lin au decurs raporturile dintre Vrăjitor şi Sior. Prinţul, dintru început, se insinuă cam agresiv spre Alizee, lăudându-i volumele de versuri, cu anumite rezerve faţă de personajul Mario[2], care-i părea odios.

Sfidat, bărbatul schimbă o privire imperceptibilă cu Oriana. Cearcănele acesteia deveniseră, din terifiante, abisale, iar rânjetul tenebros se preschimbă într-o încuviinţare sinistră. Cum toţi aşteptau ca Vrăjitorul să facă o demonstraţie, tuturor celorlalţi le scăpară aceste mici detalii. Incinta deveni cenuşie, străbătută de licăriri anormal de bizare. Pilgrimage of the Heart: Tiahuanaco – Winter Solstice

Last year I was in Bolivia at the time of the southern hemisphere Winter Solstice.  I was fortunate to connect with a sweet Aymaran guide, Marisol, a present day descendant of the ancient, powerful and influential pre-Incan civilization of Tiahuanaco. Her family still lives in the town of Tiwanaku, close to the ruins of the temples that are still at the heart of the spiritual life of the Andes, and which are the prime place of the Solstice celebrations of Bolivia.

Although it is a pretty unimposing site, the ruins at Tiahuanaco are extensive and, for me, one of the most profound places that I have been to in South America.  The Tiahuanacan temples were literally buried by the invading Spaniards in the 17^th Century, as if by burying them they could obliterate the beliefs of the people.  Some of the temples were dismantled and the stones that built them used to erect buildings, including a church, in Tiwanaku.  Today, much of the site has still to be unearthed, and you need your imagination to explore how impressive this place once would have been with its seven-tier temples underpinned with extraordinarily complicated water channels.  Tiahuanaco was constructed in the Altiplano of the Andes on the site of a very powerful leyline which runs from there through Lake Titicaca and its spiritual centers, the Isla del Sol and the Isla del Luna, up through Peru [close to Cusco] and – should you wish to follow its path further north – on to Mt. Shasta in the United States. 

I’d planned my trip to Bolivia last year to coincide with the Winter Solstice celebrations, heading back to La Paz after a month on the road so that I could be present.  The altitude is high, and the temperature is cold there at that time of year.  On the morning of the Solstice, at my pre-dawn collection time, the atmosphere was very crisp and there was freezing fog and a beautiful hoare frost on the grasses that lined the road.  Marisol and I climbed into the car that was to take us to the sacred site of Tiahuanaco, and off we set. 

It generally takes well under an hour to get to Tiahuanaco from the center of La Paz, one of the largest cities in Bolivia and the highest at 13,000’.  We’d left extra time, anticipating that there’d be plenty of traffic that morning.  We snaked up the steep hill that leads out of the city up onto the Altiplano a thousand feet above.  As we left El Alto, the poorer part of town above the city, hundreds of Andean people were climbing into small taxis and rusty vans, making their way on the one road out to the solstice site.  The caravan of pilgrims traveling to celebrate this major day in the Andean calendar was well underway, horns blaring, cars crammed to overflowing with families, and vendors selling food for the journey to the anonymous outstretched hands emerging from the passenger windows of departing vehicles.  The road was busy, the driving careless, the visibility almost nil, and as we crawled along, it became clear that our car’s heater was not working.  I wasn’t so worried about the temperature in the car, although it was freezing inside, but the windscreen was becoming patterned by frozen flakes of condensation, and they were all starting to join together, and, in addition, the further we traveled, the thicker the fog.  The road ahead was all but invisible and in these dark spooky conditions cars loomed into view alarmingly, and the drive stopped being a formality and took on the feel of a ghostly journey, maybe to oblivion!  And then, Surprise! Surprise! the driver sprayed water onto the windscreen!!!  Instantly we were blinded as it froze fast and thickly.  He was all set to drive on, head out of the window, but Marisol and I weren’t up for it.  The road was dangerous enough already.  After some strong language from us in the back, he pulled over and started to clear the frozen windscreen by hand.  Time was rushing on, and it looked possible that we might miss the dawn, and the most important part of the celebrations.  It felt like a close haul, and it was certainly tense, but we got there. We leapt out of the car into the throngs of people converging on the main temples, and wove forward to find ourselves a ‘spot’ near the ceremonial site. 

Andean people from all over Bolivia journey to Tiahuanaco for the Winter Solstice, and their number is swelled by a small number of tourists, mostly backpackers, who want to be part of this special occasion.  In the early morning gloom it was hard to see the colorful ponchos, or the distinctive details in the hats of the Bolivian people that mark them as coming from one region or another.   Marisol and I ducked left and found a place close to ropes cordoning off the site within the Kalasasaya Temple where the ceremony was to take place.  Here, Aymaran priests accepted the people’s dispachos, offerings wrapped tightly in bundles of paper containing the bearer’s wishes, spelled out in small symbolic wax tablets and in other substances gathered together with items to bring good health and luck for the coming year.  It is from this spot too that the assembled priests spoke the blessings that greet this day, which co-incidentally also marks the start of the Aymaran New Year. 

The inky black early morning was starting to lighten, and only then did I notice that the area reserved for the priests and the elite was also surrounded by armed guards.  The sight of them felt so alien in this place.  Seconds later approaching twin lights shone full at us in the sky.  My early morning imagination said ‘UFO!’, but the thrum of rotating blades brought me back to reality.  It was a helicopter!  The crowd chattered excitedly and a band struck up as it landed.  Enthusiastic shouts of ‘Evo’ echoed through the temple as their President, Evo Morales, the first indigenous president of Bolivia, walked from the helicopter and, with his armed escort, passed one of the famous standing monoliths of Kalasasaya on his way to be greeted by the assembled Priests and Elders.  At least the presence of the soldiers was now clear to me, and they lost all of the disturbing connotations that I’d given them, and suddenly they were nearly invisible in a crowd that, in truth, consisted almost entirely of celebrants.  Some had been drinking heartily all night long, and the smell of alcohol and the sight of tottering locals added to the early morning atmosphere.

Not long after the band fell silent, the priests started to speak in their local tongue, and the light of dawn slowly started to illuminate the whole plain.  The first soft tones that preceded the rising sun back-lit the eastern hills, one side of the geographical cradle in which Tiahuanaco lies.  We all turned to face the spot where the sun would first greet us.  Just before it appeared above the horizon the crowd became silent, and as light coursed over the lip of the hill we raised our hands and, with palms facing its soft luminous disk, listened to the priests as they spoke the traditional blessings.  It was a truly great moment and for me the first time I viscerally understood why the veneration of the sun was at the center of the Andean cultures.  One minute I stood there frozen to my core, and in the next, as the sun rose and its tendrils reached out across the land towards me, I was enlivened by its warmth.  I felt life force rush through me, and the sun’s blessing became a heart-felt thing.  After each prayer the priests recited we, the crowd, raised our hands high, palms facing the sun, and as one said – JALLALLA! – a wish for the gift of balance to the world.  The vibration of our invocation coursed through us, through the land, and the blessing felt real and embodied.  In a matter of minutes it was done.  Wiracocha, the creator of all things, the Sun God, had risen to bestow his blessing on the new day and the Aymaran New Year. 

The ceremonial fire was lit in the center of the temple, and having offered his dispacho, Evo left with his guards, and the ceremony continued with a mad rush towards the priests from all those who wanted to leave their own offerings.  Marisol gave me a piece of Palo Santo wood, one of the sacred woods of the Andes, and I combined this with coca leaves and some water – which I had brought in the place of alcohol, the traditional offering – to make my own dispacho to the spirits blessing me on this day.  I joined the scrambling crowds of people who were scaling the earthen altar.  We placed our dispachos in the fire burning on top of it, and watched as our offered prayers were borne heavenward on the early morning wind. 

There was no waiting around.  The local people moved away quickly once they had left their offerings, and almost all of the tourists did too.  They left behind them a sacred site that looked disheveled, bearing testament to the huge all-night party that had just taken place.  All the guardians of the site, including Marisol’s uncle, were set to work clearing up debris, and removing the chairs that had been placed in the ceremonial area for the local dignitaries attending the celebrations.  As their work started I wondered around the area absorbing the sights, sounds and smells of the day.  Wiracocha’s stone – the huge, flat ceremonial stone towards the back of the temple before which the Sun Gate once stood – was covered in coca leaves that were slowly blowing away.  They were stopped only from lifting off in the breeze now cutting across the Altiplano by the alcohol that had been sprinkled on and around the stone by people honoring this creator being.  One of the big table-like stones – which earlier had been covered in a poncho onto which men and women tossed and picked coca leaves, which they then chewed as they chatted nearby – now looked strangely naked as it was revealed as part of one of the ancient Tiahuanacan altars of Kalasasaya.  In the background a plume of smoke from the burnt dispachos rose from the battered edges of the now deserted altar in the center of the ruins.

I’d spent time in the temple complex on several occasions both on this visit and previous ones, but on this day as the guardians cleared the site, it was possible to explore, experience, and to wander without being marshaled.  There are thought to be six temples at Tiahuanaco, though it is still possible that not all have been mapped.  Their purpose is not totally known today, but Marisol told me that in her culture they are believed to be places of veneration to Wiracocha and initiation into the Light.  I headed out of the main temple to the back of this sacred site, where a small temple, Kantatallita, was only now being explored by the archeologists. This tiny temple is said to have been for women.  On that Winter Solstice day no-one was there, and, in its unordered state, the little ruined temple resembled nothing more impressive than a hotch-potch of scattered stones.  Standing out amongst them was a single decorated door lintel, and a large, almost square, carefully defined and slightly indented stone, nearly 6’ wide.  The guide books describe it as a sort of maquet, a scaled plan for a much larger temple.  This didn’t seem to be the case to me, and as I stood there my thought was that this was the initiation stone of this temple, and so I asked Marisol if she would have any objections if I lay down in it, as that was what my intuition told me to do.  As a guide, and an Aymaran custodian of these temples, I wanted to be certain that I would not be offending her.  I explained why I wanted to do this, and she agreed.  I feel sure that she felt my love and deep respect for both her culture and this sacred place.  I lay down, closed my eyes, silently called on the spiritual guardians of the Temple, and relaxed.  Almost immediately the consciousness of the stone activated, and I had the sensation that I was sitting in a chair, and being lifted up the sides of a pyramid – not unlike the structures of the other 7-tiered temples at Tiahuanaco.  As I reached each new level, the degree of light within my cells brightened and increased until, near the top, I transformed from a being in matter to being a ball of pure unlimited light.  It was an extraordinarily powerful initiation, and, though it felt much longer, it all happened within a matter of minutes.  I thanked the stone, and came out, and invited Marisol to see what it revealed to her.  She too had a journey with light, seeing different colors the longer she laid there.  It was a new experience for her, and I was glad that we could share it together.   

Next we went back to the main temple, now all but deserted, to make our own offerings of thanks to Wiracocha.  In turn we circumambulated the stone in the ancient, time honored way of respect, making our offerings of thanks with coca leaves, Palo Santo wood, and water.  I called in the creatures that guard the Four Directions of the Andean compass, the Jaguar [or Puma], the Snake, the Condor and the Hummingbird, and with each direction spoke to them too.  As I finished I turned into the middle to face the stone.  My heart was wide open with gratitude for all the experiences of the morning, and as I silently stood, I saw a golden figure rising out of the stone, like a hologram – of this world and not – Wiracocha himself.  I was moved to tears.  As Marisol offered her respects she was forced to step back a little by the intense heat she felt coming off the stone.  And yet the stone was cool to the touch, and the day still chilly!

Not long after that we set off, but instead of going back to the City we headed into the nearby town of Tiwanaku to enjoy the festivals of dance that accompany the New Year’s celebrations.  I was one of only very few tourists in a town square that seemed to explode with color and sound as troops of dancers from many different regions, all clad in bright costumes, paraded around the square to the sounds of Andean pipes and drums.  A bank of local elders and dignitaries watched them from one quadrant; other people sat facing each other in the center of the cobble-stoned square, across long cloths set up like banqueting tables. They chatted as they ate their lunch, a mixture of colorful potatoes and dried fish scattered, like some exotic feast, between them.  We smiled at each other, each in our different ways enjoying the bounty of the day. 

I slowly took it all in, and as I stood there felt again my love of the Andean people.  I am drawn to the Andes and have traveled often to places along its spine, from Ecuador, through Peru and Bolivia, to Chile and Argentina, and on to Antarctica, exploring the land and connecting with their cultures.  I am always struck by our similarities, the unifying elements that we all have in our beliefs, myths, and stories, and in the wisdom that each one of our ‘tribes’ seeks to instill in their people.  It seems to me that wherever you are from, it all comes down to Love, Service, and Wisdom.  In the Andes this is expressed as Munay, Llancay, and Llachay.   To live life well is to master these three things, whatever lineage or religion you are from, wherever in the world you were raised.  These things together create balance – Jallalla!!!

Surat Transit dihitung dari seseorang nama lahir lengkap dan merupakan prediktor paling rinci peristiwa unik bagi seorang individu. Barack Obama amp s Transit surat tetap sama dari hari ulang tahunnya pada bulan Agustus hingga Agustus tidak ada perubahan dramatis selama waktu ini.

Dia Jati Diri Bangsa memiliki surat transit amp E amp yang menandai waktu Mengembalikan Jati Diri Bangsa dari perilaku memberontak Dia berjuang untuk kebebasan. Seperti untuk makmur saya pikir ini adalah saat yang tepat untuk dapat membangun identitas nasional dan pengenalan nama tetapi saya Jati Diri Bangsa tidak yakin bahwa mendapatkan nominasi dalam kartu untuknya. Mengembalikan Jati Diri

Kesimpulan

Dalam penjumlahan meskipun Barack Obama amp s Grafik berikut menunjukkan karier meningkat saya tidak berpikir bahwa hal itu menunjukkan perubahan-perubahan drastis dalam waktu Mengembalikan Jati Diri dekat Mengembalikan Jati Diri Bangsa saya akan mengharapkan untuk melihat dalam calon presiden. Saya kira itu jauh lebih mungkin bahwa pembangunan jangka panjang karirnya ditandai mungkin peran Wakil Presiden di tiket Demokrat. Ini akan lebih cocok dengan bagan terus-menerus membangun-up ke kantor yang lebih tinggi di jalan.

CAPITOLUL XV  - SLUJBĂ INGRATĂ

Alizee şi Vrăjitorul consimţiră cam cu jumătate de gură să pogoare-n ascunzişurile Sar’a’labei, mai mult cedând insistenţelor celorlalţi. Perspectiva vizitării unui arest le trezea amândurora amintiri nu dintre cele mai plăcute, însă, luaţi de val, cedară.

- În definitiv – se încurajă Alizee -, trebuie să ne mai confruntăm şi cu viaţa reală, spre a nu deveni cu totul livreşti. Aşa am cunoscut odată un tip…

- Mă rog, să lăsăm… – propuse Vrăjitorul, nefiind limpede ce l-a determinat să-i reteze cuvântul colegei sale de convorbiri literare.

Elfa cea roşcată da’ vopsită se arătă preocupată de-un alt aspect:

- Noi mergem acolo aşa… cu mâinile goale?

- Eu am o bâtă, iar Our are toporişca… – spuse Oriana, vrăjitoarea cu cearcăne terifiante şi cu rânjet tenebros.

- Şi ce-o să facem acolo cu bâta? Jucăm oină? Eu mă refeream la mită… – puse roşcata lucrurile într-o lumină decentă.

„Care dacă-i domnu’ Onix în tură, cea mai bună monetă de schimb ai fi tu, paraşuto!” – gândi Migreta, adăugând cu glas:

- Vai, Doamna Directoare, cum vă gândiţi Dumneavoastră la toate, care eu la toţi le-am zis cât…

- Da, bine, ştiu! – îi reteză Elfa discursul.

Se scotociră toţi şi reuşiră să adune câteva lame de bărbierit, câteva lame de gumă, o sticluţă cu parfum de firmă, un clasor cu timbre, trei CD-uri cu muzică de felurite genuri şi câteva tricouri chinezeşti.

- Le ajunge! – decise Oriana. În definitiv, sunt nişte primitivi…

Pregătirile fiind încheiate, micul grup o porni în temerara acţiune, călăuzit de Our. Intrarea în coridorul ce ducea la beciuri se făcea din curtea unui Magazin de rarităţi. Păşind în prăvălie, rămaseră uimiţi cu toţii de aspectul eclectic şi, totodată, bizar al încăperii. Exemplare din cele mai neobişnuite obiecte stăteau în devălmăşie. Într-un ungher, colivii cu animale necunoscute şi borcane cu fetuşi din întreaga Galaxie. Puzderie de cărţi pecetluite zăceau, prăfuite, în rafturi. Vrăjitorul întrebă pe-o femeie sfrijită care, dintre laţele cânepii, privea cu un ochi roşu şi unul albastru:

- Americani inteligenţi aveţi?

- Domnule – răspunse femeia cu un glas ironic -, e magazin de rarităţi, nu de imposibilităţi…

Promiţând să revină, întregul grup trecu în curtea din spatele prăvăliei, unde se afla intrarea în tunel.

- Cum de-ai descoperit curtea asta? – se minună Alizee.

- Scotoceam prin magazin – răspunse Our -, când, dintr-o dată, mi-a trebuit să fac pişi…

Oriana se plesni cu palma peste frunte, mai tare decât ar fi fost necesar şi, din gesticulaţie, dădu de înţeles că ar fi mai bine să-şi vadă cu toţii de drum.

Tunelul, deşi funest în felul său, nu era năclăit de pasta încărcată de tristeţe ce se scurgea în alte galerii şi, cel puţin la început, aerul era doar stătut, nu şi pestilenţial. Înaintau cu fereală, Elfa rămânând ultima şi doar din vreme-n vreme iţindu-şi urechile cu smocuri verzi de după spinarea Orianei. Our, în timp ce-i călăuzea, se simţi dator să explice:

- Zidurile tunelului sunt alcătuite din şiruri de cărămidă galbenă, lucrare la care au trudit generaţii de oropsiţi ai sorţii. Aici, unde lumina aştrilor nu pătrunde niciodată, unde până şi apa este, cel mai adesea, un vis irealizabil, mii ori, poate, milioane de ostracizaţi, înfruntând privaţiuni de nedescris…

- Tu ne călăuzeşti, sau scrii romane? – îl întrebă Oriana pe un ton răstit. S-a trezit literatul din tine!… Vrei să ne adormi pe toţi în toiul misiunii?

Alizee opină că nu trebuie descurajate tinerele talente, însă vrăjitoarea decretă:

- Our nu-i defel tânăr, e doar mic! Cât despre talent…

Din fericire, nu se mai iscară alte neînţelegeri, deoarece grupul ajunse la uşa secretă prin care se pătrundea în arest. Fură izbiţi pe dată de mirosul cunoscut deja din veşmintele piticului, ca şi de priveliştea grupului de felieni care zăceau, posomorâţi, în cuşcă. Elfa cea şleampătă fusese lăsată în sală, având însărcinarea să cureţe nişte rădăcinoase comparabile cu guliile. Cu capul pe masă, domnul plutonier-major Onix adormise din nou.

- Kayux! – gemu Migreta, zărindu-şi iubitul într-un hal fără de hal.

- Şşşt! – făcu Oriana. Să-i scoatem pe ăştia din cuşcă şi să ne cărăbănim!…

Într-o linişte aproape desăvârşită, Vrăjitorul desfăcu lacătul, folosind o magie învăţată pe pământ, în timpul unei şederi în Penitenciarul din Timişoara. Cum ceilalţi membri ai grupului nu prea aveau de lucru, făceau semne din mână, asemenea agenţilor de circulaţie, indicând prizonierilor pe unde s-o tulească. Ultima părăsi încăperea Elfa cea roşcată care, împiedicându-se de-o găleată, dezlănţui un zgomot asurzitor.

Domnul plutonier-major Onix tresări şi, privind buimac, omise amănuntul că prizonierii au dispărut, având ochi doar pentru pasiunea sa:

- Elfa cea roscată! Ai venit?…

Nedorind să converseze, Elfa se strecură prin uşa secretă după ceilalţi.

Domnul plutonier se ridică, strigând:

- Nu mă părăsi din nou! Ce rău ţi-am făcut? De ce te porţi astfel?…

Dând să fugă după fascinantul chip, domnul plutonier-major se întinse pe pardoseală cât era de lung, deoarece, în vreme ce arestaţii erau eliberaţi, Our găsi de cuviinţă să-i lege şireturile bocancilor între ele, petrecându-le şi pe după un picior al mesei. Lovind cu pumnii în cărămizile slinoase, domnul Onix urlă rugător:

- Luaţi-mă şi pe mine! M-am săturat să fiu un lacheu netrebnic, în slujba unui tiran, şi să-mi petrec o treime din viaţă în împuţiciunea asta de beci! Vă rog, aşteptaţi-mă!…

Fireşte, nimeni nu intenţiona să facă acest lucru.

CAPITOLUL XII  – ARTA OGLINZILOR

- Ia cu mâna, că nu te muşcă! – îl îndemnă domnul plutonier-major Onix pe felianul Kayux. Că tot voi v-aţi căcat…

Dacă, în lumea terestră, despre un closet sordid intelectualii spun că este pestilenţial, iar poporul de rând zice că pute ca dracu’, aici, în beciurile Sar’a’labei, e imposibil de a găsi un termen adecvat pentru a descrie duhoarea atroce din latrină. Varietatea de specii ori rase care se perinda prin arest făcea ca izul feluritelor tipuri de excremente să se combine în cel mai abominabil compus.

- Aşa… Adună şi de lângă perete! Că, la vorbit necuviinţe în birturi eşti priceput! Aici, bă, cetăţeanul se apreciază după cum munceşte, nu după cum vorbeşte!…

Mândru de a fi găsit la momentul oportun această lozincă educativă, domnul plutonier-major îl mai stimulă pe arestat cu un picior în cur.

…

În timp ce Kayux era supus la umilinţe inimaginabile, în hanul Lucrătorul ostenit vrăjitoarea Oriana pregăti câteva oglinzi, rânduindu-le către cele şase puncte cardinale, după cum socoteau locuitorii acelei planete.

- Faci vraja cu oglinzi? – se interesă Elfa cea roşcată da’ vopsită.

- Cu specule! – răbufni Oriana.

- Mă rog, cu specule…

Oriana nu mai spuse nimic, concentrându-se asupra oglinzilor (speculelor). Părea că orice legătură a sa cu lumea înconjurătoare se tăiase, rămânând ca o stană insensibilă. Un timp, Elfa privi în tăcere, pătrunsă de taina întregii lucrări. Apoi, observând că oglinzile nu le reflectă imaginea, nu se mai putu abţine să nu întrebe:

- De ce nu ne vedem chipurile în og… în specule? Aşa trebuie?…

Vrăjitoarea cu cearcăne tenebroase izbucni:

- De unde pizda mă-si vrei să ştiu?! Sunt murdare ca naiba! Our! Our!…

Piticul, cum se află ulterior, ieşise de capul lui prin cetate, nebănuind că va fi solicitat tocmai acum. În ajun, îi reproşase Orianei că, în ultimele sale lucrări, renunţase aproape cu desăvârşire la descrieri, iar vrăjitoarea îl făcu „bou sfertodoct”, adăugând şi alte expresii jignitoare, astfel că legătura lor se răcise oarecum. În plus, pe Our îl indispunea în mod evident şi prezenţa Elfei, din pricină că aceasta îl ignora. Singură Alizee nu deranja pe nimeni, deoarece, de la o vreme, îşi luase o odaie separată, în care-şi petrecea cea mai mare parte a timpului, prinsă în dezbateri literare cu Vrăjitorul. Posibil că cei doi polemizau adeseori, întrucât periodic se stârneau mici cutremure, suficiente pentru a da fiori de groază la tot cartierul.

- Our, futu-te-n cur!… – izbuti Oriana o rimă involuntară. Las’ că vezi tu ce-o să capeţi!…

- Dar, pentru vrăjuri, trebuie ca… speculele să fie lustruite? – îndrăzni Elfa.

- Probabil! De unde vrei să ştiu eu? N-am făcut niciodată vraja cu oglinzi! Eu scriu şi gătesc ciuperci, ce tot vreţi de la mine? Dacă am cearcăne, gata, credeţi că zbor pe mătură! Cearcănele terifiante sunt urmarea nopţilor petrecute la comp, iar rânjetul tenebros vine de la ţigareta ţinută-n colţul gurii… În rest, am eu tenul mai închis şi mi-am vopsit părul! Aia nu înseamnă că-s vreo voodoo sau dracu’ mai ştie ce credeţi voi!… Că mi-au ajuns până peste cap insinuările voastre!

Elfa amuţi, surprinsă peste măsură de această izbucnire nervoasă. Un ciocănit timid în uşă le făcu pe cele două femei să tresară. De dincolo, se auzi glasul mieros al Migretei:

- Doamna Directoare, aţi reuşit?…

Fu rândul Elfei să explodeze:

- Ce tot vrei? Eu nu sunt Doamna Directoare cu tine! Şi n-am nicio obligaţie faţă de tine sau de Kayux al tău! Adică, de câte ori nu-i vine uneia ciclul, eu trebuie să cobor în beciurile Sar’a’labei!… Ce să zic?…

Pe această replică, reveni din hoinărelile sale şi piticul Our care, fără a mai reuşi să intuiască momentul tensionat, porni să grăiască surescitat:

- Am găsit un coridor care duce direct la beciurile Sar’a’labei! Da’ pute acolo!…

Cum ceva din putoarea descrisă se impregnă şi-n veşmintele piticului, femeile îşi făcură o anume idee despre suferinţele lui Kayux.

- Vezi? – pufni Oriana, adresându-se Migretei. Dacă am merge să-l scoatem pe nătărăul tău de acolo, aşa am mirosi şi noi după aia! Cine l-a pus să ajungă-n arest? De ce nu şi-a văzut de treabă? Că, degeaba nu l-au dus ei acolo…

Neavând replică, Migreta începu să plângă. Revenindu-şi oarecum, porni să implore:

- Doamna Oriana, vă rog mult să nu-l lăsaţi acolo, care o să vă fac curat toată viaţa şi-o să vă lustruiesc oglinzile!…

- Speculele, toanto! – strigă Elfa cea roşcată, deprinsă între timp cu acest termen mai pretenţios.

După alte momente tensionate, cei patru, încercaţi şi de-o firească curiozitate, deciseră să meargă pe calea descoperită de Our, cu unele rezerve:

- Eu merg, dacă vor veni cu noi şi Alizee cu Vrăjitorul! – decise Elfa.

- Bine, vin şi eu… – hotărî Oriana. Da’, dacă-mi vine să vomit, vă zic de-acum că eu mă-ntorc!…
