Anyways during the April 13,14 and 15, ozine fest was held on Sm megamall megatrade hall for those days, it was a fun con to be precise since we also get to display figures there.

I haven’t been going around much during the event itself because I was busy with the indie artist booth selling pins,stickers drawings and whatnot, good thing tho that the booths were near the display area so I could drop by if I wanted to.

Ozine, and Team Onii-Chan was able to deliver last December 28-29 a figure-centric event. You don’t see this happening much in the Philippines as most conventions that cater to Japanese sub-culture enthusiasts focuses more on cosplay, or general anime stuff.

As I mentioned, I got around 100 pics so expect a lot of figures. All the figures presented during the convention all came from the members of Team Onii-Chan. Through their generosity they were able to give con-goers a large and respectable figure exhibit. The only thing that limited them I think was the number of tables, otherwise there would be a lot more figures ^^

I wouldn’t be able to name every figure, but I’m sure if you ask in the comment box someone will answer the question eventually.

The girls from Highschool of the Dead. I’m a big sucker for zombie flicks and I believe they’re the best ninjas ever. They stink, they make a lot of noises, and yet they can catch people by surprise.

I’ve decided to just take a collective picture of some of the nendoroids. If I went out of my way and took a picture of each and every single figure, I would be swamped. Any suggestions on how to upload pics in wordpress as fast as the system in figure.fm?

A bunch of Madoka nendoroids from different timelines and one Homura hell bent in protecting them all. We even have a detective Madoka (that’s actually Sharro from Milky Holmes ^^). My friend just recently gave me a Homura Nendoroid for Christmas and I’ll review it soon.

Said Homura-donater holding a 1/1 Kyubey figure. Kyubey is probably the cutest thing to have when you are working as a human resource personel (aka people who hire people for work).

On a sidenote, I heard some HR people would place different figures in their office (an anime one, maybe a batman figure, a sculpture or something) to try and see which figure will the applicant first comment on.

Time to move on to the Type Moon Section (particularly Fate/Stay Night). What we have here is Saber Alter from the Heaven’s feel route

Regular Saber. I swear she’s turning into a Barbie Doll second only to Miku with all the “new stuff” she’s getting (summer ver, red, bride, with that motorcycle, figma in a suit, etc)

Saber Lily with and without her armor. Hmmm something’s wrong with this one’s nose. Might be the lighting @_@ I’ve dismantled a Saber Lily figure once, I still haven’t gotten around as to what to do with it.

Tohsaka Rin’s figure from Unlimited Blade Works route. She’s probably one of my favorites in the entire fate storyline, first place at the moment is Fox-eared Caster ^^

Saber, Rider and Rin in maid outfits as seen in Fate/Hollow Ataraxia. I hope we get to see an anime adaptation of this. You get to see who Lancer’s real master, more interactions with the servants and masters, plus the 8^th servant, Avenger along with Kirei’s daughter, Caren.

Time for some Black Rock Shooter, this one being Dead Master. Hmmm the character designs in the anime series are kind of different now. Is this some ploy to get a new line of figures as well? ^^

Strength

My favorite character in this series has got to be Black Gold Saw! I’m also digging Chariot’s design in the series, but we’ll see.

I did a review of the BRS without the jacket and it was given away as a prize of a charity event back then (link). Personally, I like the one with the jacket.

I still prefer the other one with the jacket, but this one is nice too. This shouldn’t be called anime ver anymore due to the upcoming series this season. More like an OVA ver ^^

This white rock shooter must be a hassle to keep clean. Dust can easily settle and stick to paint and you can see it even more if it’s white paint.

I’ll probably be talking less here since I don’t know all the people in the cosplay community here and the characters they are portraying, so forgive me for the lack of of textual substance this time around ^^

Though the costumes are already expensive, the wigs cost a lot as well ranging from P1,800 to 3,000.

Yes there were people who actually complained about the flatness of our BRS here XD

Now that’s light skinned! I wonder what sort of make-up was used here. Any idea?

Has anyone tried cosplaying here? I myself haven’t tried cosplaying as I have yet to find a character whom I’d want to spend a LOT of money to cosplay as. But by November I guess I’ll try to cosplay in Singapore just for the occasion (if I do find the luxury of money XP)

Up next, figures XD

Better late than never I guess. Occupying two convention centers, Ozinefest was held April 8-10 within the premises of Megamall in the Ortigas Area. We pretty much one day that was casual laden, while Saturday and Sunday were dedicated for the Blazblue CS1 tournament and the Marvel vs Capcom 3 tournament. Both tourneys had a high turnout, and we had to turn down some people who came in late or because the 64-man limit was already fully occupied.

We can’t really claim that everyone here was OUR crowd, but if you can spot the people looking to the right side (from your perspective that is) and in front, chances are those are the guys who came to play and fight =D

Really crowded. We do thank the people who participated and played with complete strangers in the spirit of fun. If we can only provide everyone with chairs, we’d do so T__T. Probably our next purchase for events such as these would be a projector for better viewing

Due to the lack of dividers, we had to use a make-shift one using plastic rope and two tripods. Dividers helped as it gave the players some breathing space and it gave us, the BBPH staff, some peace of mind when it comes to the security of our belongings.

Currently I’m taking up a bit of Super Street Fighter 4, but I haven’t gone indepth since I am waiting for the Arcade Edition to come out. Anyone here playing?

Used to play with the guy on the right there (Dralnu) since my college days in Marvel vs Capcom 2. Played a mean MSP too. Can’t believe that this event somehow got me in contact with friends whom I’ve lost touch with.

MvC3 players from Northmall. The man wearing an olive colored (is that the right color? Hahaha) won the tournament for MvC3. Thanks for coming you guys! We’ll try to make another MvC3 tournament soon.

Another player who if I am not mistaken is one of the organizers for the June 4 MvC3 tournament. I can’t give his name, that would defy the purpose of the mask no? hahaha

Various cosplayers, big and small, also tried out the games in our booth. Sadly I only have these pictures to show, but there were a lot more cosplayers who passed by to test the games, which was amusing to watch.

I have to thank the logistics staff, marshals and volunteers for being able to grit their teeths and just go with flow as they managed the tourney software, called out people’s names, assembled the ps3s and brought them to the site, and more!. This tourney wouldn’t be possible without your support!

At the end of the day, everyone who helped out were allowed to play free games until the site closed. Some people played the PS3, specifically Blazblue CS1

Others were busy enjoying themselves with Blazblue CS2. Has everyone tried the game already?

This, empty seats, was a RARE sight during that day. Usually the units would be fully occupied by players and marshals to oversee matches or to make sure no controller gets lost or “borrowed without asking for permission” ^^

I was once again the Voice Over for a major anime event…Coming soon, TOYCON 2008 and GO! Negosyo.. Well it was my first anime convention…and WOW.. culture shock from the get-go. All in all it was fun.
