much too long since i’ve been here…and now off the birded wings of thanksgiving eve…i bring you. me.

this whole adam lambert thing. hm. i was watching the american music awards and thought they were alright. really enjoyed a lot of the performances…i grew up on tori amos, pj harvey and bjork, so honestly lady gaga sparks no interest in me whatsoever…the overly dramatic live shows (of which i’ve seen on awards shows) leaves just a whole host of dramatics and not enough sound pleasure for me. i liked jay z and alicia keys, whitney houston’s slow comeback…not feeling green day and wish they could go back to the rare beauty of their earlier punk…the album ‘dookie.’ i wish kings of leon would have performed. liked the eminem performance and i think that carrie underwood is a very talented artist…odd that taylor swift won so many and didn’t show up because of rehearsal in london but who am i? the thing that gets me the most and is getting the most publicity is american idol, adam lambert’s (a very gorgeous young man…btw) performance. i consider myself open minded however for me it was entirely out of place, way too over the top and repulsive. i really don’t wanna see oral sex simulation during a dick clark american music awards broadcast. silly me? he’s apparently unapologetic about it…and wants to equate it to janet jackson’s (who was incredibly awesome) crotch grab on a male dancer. or wants to equate it the mads and britney kiss…well, adam the networks didn’t air your kiss. and ok, janet did like six songs in a row…it was quick and she wasn’t really like…sexualizing her 1 second much as 3 minutes of his performance. lambert held a dude’s head to his crotch and continued to move his pelvis with the dude’s head. not only that he tugged between the legs of a female dancer, repeatedly…i wasn’t sure if something was supposed to pop out or what. it was too much. even for me…it was way too much. the saddest thing however is that if lambert had been akon or 50 cent or lil wayne or little richard. we have insane double standards in this country. take the janet and justin superbowl show…the media and we (not i) went crazy. you would have thought janet jackson murdered someone or had sex on air…her nip popped out. we see the nip as infants. big freakin deal. he nor she ever licked or fondled the nip…it just showed up for like a half second. you also would have thought justin timberlake was on mars during the performance, he was the garment revealer or ripper…the press hate fest focused on jackson…but justin…he was right there. insert any ethnic entertainer gay or straight…fines and talking heads would be going crazier than the electronics line will be at wal-mart tomorrow morning. we have such a bias way of thinking in this country and it’s quite sad…but true as metallica would say.

and as much as i promise i won’t watch ‘dancing with the stars’ ever again…i watch only to see it repeat a catastrophe. there’s no way that donny osmond was a better dancer than mya or kelly osborne…so i wish they’d stop letting the producers dictate the results. also, lil kim was absolutely robbed last year…mya and her top performing all season self was robbed as well. i’d feel much better if kelly osborne would have won…oh well.

The second, Wale – Diary ft. Marsha Ambrosius (Acoustic)

“Diary” is an acoustic version of one of my favorite tracks off Attention Deficit produced by The Sleepwalkers. After a few listens I think I’m feeling this version more. Wale’s lyrics and Marsha’s vocals are enough, and in this case simple sounds better. Great track.

And the third, Dirty Money – Angels (Remix) ft. Lupe Fiasco

Lupe is the third emcee to get on this track. First Ricky Ross, then a better verse from Raekwon. But this time it gets even better again. Lupe is truly a poet! I usually don’t care for remixes like this because I prefer original production and what not. But Lupe does this track justice.

How he manages to get models like Lily Cole and Daisy Lowe to bare all for a calendar is a mystery to me, but then again he is Terry Richardson…

Diddy’s stream of band fallouts is continuing as Day 26 formally announces that they’ve left his Bad Boy record label. While Diddy embarks on new territory with his recent signing to Interscope, his brain child of Quanell, Willie, Brian and Mike will do the same. The group has moved from Diddy’s emblem to Atlantic Records. By doing so, hopefully they’ll be able to salvage their career before their demise a la Danity Kane.

While their days with Bad Boy were numbered from the start, Willie is adamant that there’s no bad blood between the group and the powers that be. He told TheBoombox,

“Bad Boy is always our family, but we’re with Atlantic right now…we really want to get people focused on the artistry, on the music. I think a lot of people lost it with the entertainment of the show. So now, we really want to show people what we’re all about, that we do our thing whether it’s on stage, in the studio, writing and producing — we do it all.”

The group isn’t looking to put an album out until sometime next year, but in the meantime, ladies can invest in their women’s shoe line. Released in September, Eight2Six shoes coincided with the groups single, “Your Heels.” The line’s first product was the “Swagga Heel” featured in three different colors and priced at $99.99.

What is it about the politics of fashion that makes the up-and-coming  tyrant want to coordinate  his “look”  with those of his  predecessors in history?
This is a theory laden style that, although understated, clearly manages to convey to the world a sense of  dysfunction, murderous pathology, economic failure, incompetence, paranoia, deprivation, and ultimate social calamity.
The  feeling of absolute authority, heretofore conveyed exclusively by drab green quasi-military outfits and ill-fitting suits, has evolved into a preference for drab green quasi-military fatigues, poorly made suits.
Some recent attempts define  individual  menace have been driven by the gray Primark jacket (available in the bazaars of Istanbul) and red warm-up suits, but they remain outside of the historical mainstream.
Let’s begin with the poor relations over there across the Urals…old Yosif Vissarionovich Dzugashvili…or Joseph Steel, or Joe Stalin to you…looking good in  his blood spatter resistant over-shirt, old Joe established a style that would prove hard to resist for  future despots with an eye toward governance through murder and intimidation.

The idea of fashion was certainly not lost on chairman Mao…he even incorporated it into his “cultural revolution.” Whether struggling on the long march, appearing in public with his little red book, at the office reviewing lists of counter-revolutionaries, or just lounging around the hut penning more disingenuous philosophy, his take on Stalin’s ensemble with the matching hat was never inappropriate.

There was a time, apart our previous three, when tyranny embraced fashion. With the initial support of a functioning economy,
dysfunction, murderous pathology, incompetence, paranoia, deprivation, and ultimate social calamity adopted a style of proto-military regalia that would ultimately serve as a template for late twentieth century South American and African lunatics.

Here we can see the source of their jealous drab green deconstructions… mass murder looks smart in this coat and tie, accessorized with a clever hat and important papers carried in the left hand…..a fashion statement not lost on forward thinking despots of the future….

Limits on space require that we must skip over those many murdering lesser despots whose murderous extermination campaigns remain publicly recorded at less than six million.

Fashion suddenly takes a turn with the arrival of the North Korean “chairman of the hidden gulag,” ….in more ways than one…

Here we see the traditional blood spatter resistant fatigue fabric over-shirt boldly replaced by the blood spatter resistant gray jacket. This bold combination somehow simultaneously suggests a playful concept for the future of despotic fashion while acknowledging its gritty functional tradition. This combination will not be ignored by the up-and-coming despot with an eye for style.

And here we have it….true evolution in despotic fashion… suddenly, over an open neck shirt, a characterless gray jacket provides bright new alternatives to shop worn wardrobes of old. A simple gray jacket which can now openly say to the world, “I’m deranged and planning to significantly re-proportion human ethnicity.”

We here at tyrannyoffashion.com realize that beyond an invitation to a UN General Assembly rant, the occasion for more formal dress may arise.  In such cases we could do worse than recommend the crummy blue suit.

P. Diddy ignores the crisis and continues to spoil himself as he used us. The Hip-hop mogul spent 3 million dollars for the party held at the Hotel Plaza in New York for his 40 years anniversary.

P. Diddy had 500 of his best friends trying to cope with the rivers of champagne and Ciroc vodka that flowed at the party. From the night’s special guests we mention Jay-Z, Bono, Nelly and Denzel Washington.

All the fuss cost Diddy no less than 3 million dollars, the rapper paying $ 30,000 just to decorate the space where the party took place.

“It was an amazing party and Diddy was in great shape,” said one of the guests at the party”.

I think the end of the world is near.  It makes me sad, but I think this is it.  What else could explain the absolute shit that is on TV these days.  Celebrity Rehab, Sex Rehab, Paris Hilton’s BFF, Tila Tequila and fuck, even P. Diddy, or whatever the fuck his name is, has a “reality” show.  It’s all friggin crap.  Hogan know’s best, the Hills, people with 8 kids, 16 kids, 32 kids, geez.  What makes this Tv?  It’s like being at the circus watching the freak-shows. 

Right now on showcase there are 2 men in thongs tied together by a harness in the 69 position and they are pounding the shit out of each other’s ass cheeks.  UGH.  Then the guy drools on the other guys leg.  UGH.  It’s as bad as watching poker on TV.  (turned off after 20 more seconds).

It’s no wonder I just stick to sports, Grey’s Anatomy, Ugly Betty, and a ton of cooking shoes and news.

Please, someone come up with something original!!!

Earlier this week I promised you to keep you updated on 123 Bummings! Exploits.  Well, I will not disappoint.

Earlier this year, Iona Tombola, rhythm guitarist/bassist/vocalist of 123 Bumming! started to get a Cheryl Cole type yearning.  No, she didn’t attack anyone.  She started hanging out with some of the main players in the hip hop/rap scene.  Not a week went past when she wasn’t spotted hanging out with members of the dark underbelly of the scene.  One night she’d be partying with Rob n’ Raz, John Barnes, and 2 Unlimited then next night, The Rebel MC and the Vengaboys in P-Diddy’s floating night club ‘Diddi-rama’.  Before long she was whisked away to Hillside in LA to record a track with ‘the Hip-Hop’s’ main player: Dane Bowers,  who produced this track. 

Do not fear, Bumming! fans, for Iona demanded that she play all the instruments on the track, to maintain artistic integrity.   Lead guitar and bass are all c/o Ms Tombola who also adopts her rap persona: MC Lizzy Duke.

For out foreign fans, a bit of terminology:

Sean “Diddy” Combs turned the big 4-0 and celebrated at the ritzy Plaza Hotel in New York City on Thursday (Nov. 19). The star-studded event drew the likes of Jay-Z, Bono, Young Jeezy, Nelly, Estelle, Cassie, Rick Ross, Lupe Fiasco, Martha Stewart (hmm..yes I guess she lost her GPS), and Kim Kardashian. Trey Songz and the legendary Al Green performed.

The stars were out last night at Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs’ Birthday Celebration Presented by Ciroc Vodka at The Grand Ballroom at The Plaza Hotel on November 20, 2009 in New York City.

It was billed as the “party of the century” to celebrate the four decades of the hip-hop artists life. The  the theme of the party was a “fantasy dreamland”, and by all reports and papparrazi photos, it definitely lived up to the hype.

Diddy planned the party with famed event planner Bronson Van Wyck. Bentley Meeker, the “Wizard of Light”  set the mood with the lighting.

 A few names of the guest who attended the party  included  Queen Latifah, Russell Simmons, Spike Lee, Zac Posen, Lil’ Kim ,Kim Kardashian, Nelly,Tyrese Gibson,Jermaine Dupree, Martha Stewart, Media executive Lorne Michael’s, The Black Eyed Peas,Ice T and his wife,….but no Shyne?

Where is Shyne you ask…well Shyne was deported to his home country of Belize, after spending 10 years in prison for allegedly shooting up a club, after a confrontation was started by Sean Combs at a club he brought Jennifer Lopez and Shyne too.

Shyne was assisted by his father Belizean Prime Minister Dean Barrow.

A quote from Boombox.com reports that…While his immigration status is still under review, Shyne, born Jamal Barrow, must return to Belize despite the fact that his mother lives in New York, where he grew up.

Prime Minister Barrow petitioned the help of Harvard Law Professor Charles Ogletree to assist in the matter of keeping his son in the states. “All the lawyers who were dealing with his immigration problems, they are totally off the case now,” said Shyne’s uncle, Michael Finnegan. “He [Ogletree] has stepped in totally, he was given permission to deal with the situation in all its aspects,” he said…

Sean Comb’s has come forth to state that Shyne has and has always had his full support, and if there is anything that Shyne need from him, like his assistance to get back to the States, that the whole Bad Boy camp will be at his disposal.

Well, MTV.com reports that Shyne contends that Combs’ support is exactly what landed him in jail!

 He says that since his trial lawyers — Murray Richman and Ian Niles — were indirectly on the Bad Boy payroll, they worked halfheartedly in defending him, so that Combs would look innocent.

The lawyers reject this characterization of their work, and contend they did everything to defend Shyne.

“How do you call a witness to testify against your comrade?” wonders Shyne, who called Myers’ testimony more damaging than any witness the prosecution called. “That don’t make no sense. I’m telling you this woman is lying and you’re saying, ‘Eh, you know, well, she’s helping me.’ But I’m facing 25 years and you’re looking at probation…

Charise Myers, a Club New York security guard who said she fell on top of Sean Combs during the melee. Myers also gave an account of seeing Shyne get into an altercation with Matthew “Scar” Allen — who was determined to be the antagonist in the incident — and then firing shots in the air first…

It was obvious that they were selling me [out] in order to appease [Diddy]. There was a dual loyalty there.”

“I wasn’t built like that,” he says about his decision not to “snitch.” “I’m designed a different type of way, and this is not ‘hood philosophy. You don’t sacrifice anybody in order to spare yourself. You just don’t do that.” 

Sounds like what I know to be honorable, not only on the streets, but life in general.

I wasn’t there, I have only read the transcripts from the court case, and that is what I base my opinion on, and if I was a betting man and my life depended on it…I am riding with Shyne.

Hopefully Sean Combs’ can help Shyne get back to work here in the USA,….he certainly knows all the right people to make that happen.
