Nick Collins suffered a career threatening neck injury last September against the Carolina Panthers and news about is status was reportedly to be released after the draft. The Packers making a decision like this before the draft indicates that they will be looking towards the future at the safety position, and will most likely draft a safety within the first three rounds.
