I know that wrote about my encounter with the palm reader. It was fascinating. I can’t remember if I mentioned that my step dad also had a reading done. It seemed very out of character for him but delighted me. He has been having some minor health issues of late and I really didn’t think anything of it until the other day. I asked my husband if he remembered what my step dad said on the way home after the reading (the boys went home by themselves). Well anyways the doctor told my step dad that he needs surgery again to repair another hemorrhoid. He had surgery for two in 2007. The palm reader told my step dad that she saw another surgery coming for him but that it wouldn’t be as bad as the first. Hello. 1 hemorrhoid over 2. Yep not as bad. She nailed it. My husband was quite surprised but he remembered it. Good stuff. Thought that I would share.

I’ve visited a site called < Contoveros > run by Michael J who gave

a good observation of his Zen life to my blog. (@ Mindfullness / comment )

I can see he has cultivated nice friendly community around his

relaxed heart warming blog spot.

——- And I found very interesting words in his spot which says

” Needn’t kill yourself to be like Buddha ” ——m m m ? ! ! !

Waite a moment matey, did Buddha killed his Self ?

According to the so-called Buddha’s biography (along side some historical facts)

Buddha had abandoned his status to be the Royal Prince and became a bikku

which gave a serious havoc to the linage of the Magada Kingdom etc——.

Even though it was for a quest to find the truth to save the human being,

Wasn’t that by his crazy ego ? especially to the eyes of Shakya Royals.

——————–

Here is the very interesting issue of What is the self, ego ——What is

the person’s role to be born under the Dharma.

In the Buddha’s eyes, clinging the position to be the Royal Prince while

indulging exclusive prosperity was the greed and ego infested by the

delusions, therefore it has to be get rid of it.

——–In my view, Buddha didn’t kill his self ofwhich he was born with.

He only needed to expose it which had been stashed away under the

cover of Royal robe.

The same apply to anybody as you are born to be the self by the Dharma,

but to live as the true yourself (some time called Inner-self ) you only

need to get rid of the life of unnecessary and excess ofwhich most of them

are artificial and unnatural (This is so-called Middle way ).

——————–

From the tiny thumbnail of Michael’s photo, I can see his really nice character.

Look his child like twinkling eyes and the round smiley cheeks. The shape of

ears shows his rather well-off happy life.

A man born like him wouldn’t be killed even under the bombardment of Vietcon.

Dhrma protect him to fulfill his life.

(As a family tradition, I’m pretty good to read the face and the line on the palm)

Congratulation to Michael.

How can you see children in your palm? Clues can be found on the heart line, fate line, life line a

How can you see children in your palm?

Clues can be found on the heart line, fate line, life line and marriage lines.

On the heart line, a branch toward the middle finger of Saturn, the planet of responsibility indicates a child coming into your life. This can be your birth child or a child coming into your care.

On the life line, a inner life life that begins part way down the palm can sometimes indicate a soulmate or someone very special such as a child coming into our lives. The fate line may also become doubled at this point which shows you will be extra busy. Squares around the fate line at this time indicate nesting, and time spent at home.

On the marriage lines under your little finger of Mercury there are the children lines. The marriage lines run horizontally and the children lines are vertical or diagonal branches off this line. The number of branches show how many children you will have.

Children lines joining the marriage lines

If I foster a child or work with children will that show in the palm?

Yes, the line however cuts through the marriage line. If the child line joins the marriage line, then it is your birth child.

Many faint vertical lines seen around the Mount of Mercury show you work with children.

Will it be a boy or a girl?

If the line is vertical it will be a boy and diagonal it will be a girl.

Will my child be healthy?

Look for lines attached to the marriage line. A deep line is best for good health but generally indicates an outgoing personality and a light line a shy child. If the line has a circle symbol it will drain a chid’s health 0r can indicate a difficult pregnancy. Wavy lines can indicate anxiety. Squares show guardian angels.

What will their personality and talents be like?

Symbols such as triangles on the children lines show talent for business. If the line is long and reaches up into the base of the little finger of Mercury they will be a chatterbox in touch with angels and imaginary friends. A forked child line shows multiple talents and they may change their direction later on in life.

Will I have twins?

A doubled child line that both join together and a doubling of other major lines in the palm can sometimes indicate twins.

Victor D’Altorio freed himself from his body Ann Marie Buydos wrote in a general email on Nove

Victor D’Altorio freed himself from his body Ann Marie Buydos wrote in a general email on November 12th. This is it folks–he hit the road.

He left behind no biological children, but hundreds of children that came in the form of acting students. Through the Meisner acting approach, he did not teach, but rather demanded that people drop all false pretense and stare head-on into the beautiful, scarred face of humanity. To use less actor jargon, this means to simply see that the person in front of you is crying and laughing at the same time, and then allowing yourself to have your honest reaction to that. Then in turn, they have the opportunity to see you screaming and smiling at them at the same time, and then they react. This may seem so incredibly simple (or inappropriate) as a method for acting and there certainly is more to it. However, it is the core of good acting and I daresay a healthy emotional life outside of acting.

I first heard about Victor when I decided I wanted to be an actor. I had just graduated from music school in a grueling amount of time (a little more than two and half years) and was confused as to what I really wanted to do with my life. With a sudden surplus of time on my hands I started watching a lot of movies. Then while watching Spiderman 2, I decided I wanted to be on the screen.

About a month later I received an email from the fabulous Northeast Ohio Performing Arts List. It was an email from an actor teacher from LA and Chicago named Victor D’Altorio stating that he had some openings in a class. In it was a brief, liberating description of what acting is–honesty–and quotes by Megan Mullaly, Laura Innes and Toby Schiff praising his teaching and directing skills.

In my first class I was so excited and terrified. He started with some clear demands. One: you are never late. It’s just not acceptable. Two: you do not speak at all, whatsoever during someone else’s time, furthermore you should not be speaking because you are exercising full concentration on their work. Three: write in your journal everyday and read the assigned books. Four: obey the rules of the exercise we were to spend most of our time doing, the repetition.

For those of you who don’t know what the repetition is, let me quickly state that it is an improvisational acting exercise designed to help students exercise being present in the moment. To do the exercise at it’s most basic level, what you are to do is stand face to face with a partner. Then one of you will make an honest statement about the other person that has some meaning to you. For example, it may be honest to say, “your shirt is blue” however the blueness of the shirt most likely has little importance to you. It might be a wiser choice to say, “you look like a fat fucking bitch” or “you are so extremely attractive” if either of those is how you feel. Then, the other person must take that statement, switch the second person to first and say it back to you letting whatever thoughts or emotions they have ride out on the statement. And this continues back and forth until one of you notices something else that’s extremely important to you and makes another statement and continues the process again.

Well. I think maybe you can sense my apprehension in doing an exercise like this, but you can also feel some curious, new excitement that you have the chance to step into a world where you can really say how you feel, and hear other people’s honest reaction to you.

In my first exercise, with a woman named Jack, my world changed. In between our bland comments like “you have a nice smile” and our giggling and thwarted attempt at kissing (fyi: in this exercise, things like kissing rarely happen because something usually comes up, like someone pulling away for a second, before the kiss and it can’t go uncommented), I saw a worthy, unpopular challenge placed before me. To be honest. This exercise and, frankly, living life fully requires that we don’t always have a lid on our emotions, no matter what they be. More importantly, it requires that we are paying attention. Like the wise geisha, we notice how people react to us. Honesty means we see the world as it is, and go from there.

Gosh, there’s so much more I could say about what this class is (sadly this should be a “was”) about. But instead I’ll quickly say it completely changed my life. I had an extremely gifted palm reader (he is a well-known radio presenter in Cleveland and does not do this for pay) read my palm and notice that there is an entirely different Russell living in my head that is not being expressed. I don’t think you had to be a palm reader to notice that when I was 19; I was always tripping over my own words and looked uneasy most of the time. His comment stuck with me and in Victor’s class I knew, through much hard work and a solid year’s worth time in his classes, that the person in my head would finally merge with the person on the outside.

This, Victor, was an amazing gift and I think you so, so very much. It came to pass that a couple years later, after having had some success in LA and NYC acting that I realized being just an actor was not my calling. I was drawn to acting, and Victor’s class, because I wanted to learn how to get out of my fucking head. It may seem that acting is about lying, and I agree it is, it is also just as much about telling the truth. With all the time I’d spent in my life doing heady things like astrology, calculus, classical oboe and arts administration (how does one administer the arts, really?), I had never learned how to simply tell the truth.

Now that I am making my debut as me, doing all the disparate things I do, honesty is the cornerstone of making my work palatable. I am being honest in that being a bard is my fantasy world. It is my reaction when I see the world. When I see Lady Gaga, I see the potential for bardism. When I accept that we are still killing thousands of people in the middle east with our sloppy policy, I see the potential for an honest reaction when no one is paying attention. So, as this fabulous new bard I’m trying to become, I hope I can give you a slice of the truth. As Victor said in his blog, “the truth is always far more interesting that the pretense that covers it up.” Victor, your torch of truth lives on in so many students who cherish your memory. Rest in peace.

Gender: Female
Age range: 31-35
Major Hand: Right

Thank you to Sarah B. for being the first person to give Just Your Palms a try.

After several rounds of giving video uploads a try, I’m going to have to surrender to the video gods who are just not quite up to the idea of me “video-taping” readings just yet and do this one long-form. So here goes:

General Approach to Life and Work

Sarah, your hands indicate that you are set up to take a practical approach to communicative endeavors. You have a square palm and short fingers (as compared to the length of your palms) giving you extra energy to get things done at work. You are probably a person that your bosses rely on to get things done and never have to ask themselves “Is Sarah letting this stall out on her desk?” That probably doesn’t happen much, and when it does, there’s a logical and practical reason for it.

The flip-side of being so practical is that you may run into situations where your friends perceive you as acting impulsively and not thinking things through completely prior to starting them. You probably won’t care much because your sole objective in life is to keep things moving and to take things out of the mental state and transfer them to a tangible real state.

Fingers

I already mentioned that the power of your shorter fingers allows you to be a mover and a shaker at work. This is where I’ll dive into the meaning of your individual fingers:

Of all of your fingers, your index finger is the longest, giving you the gift of gab, the ability to be a teacher, a person who likes to share resources and prefers being in the middle of the action at a party rather than quietly gabbing with a close friend or loved one in a corner.

This finger’s powers though are subdued by your shorter than normal ring finger. As a result of your shorter ring finger, my guess is that your tendency to want to be the one doing the talking or the sharing in the room is going to be tempered by this shorter finger so that, instead of wanting to stand up and lecture to a hall filled with 10,000 people, you’ll probably feel more comfortable leading a small group session in the back of the room after the main lecture finishes. Your smaller pinky finger is actually more pointed than any of the other fingers on your hand which means that you can understand, accept and process a great deal of communicated information. This probably made school easy for you. It also lends energy to all of your communication energy in your hand. Your shorter thumb displays great logic so you are blessed with the ability to think through problems when you choose to do so, but the shortness of the thumb means that you may stand back and choose to hold off on implementing if it means going against the crowd or hurting someone’s feelings or attempting to have someone submit to your will – those are all places that you probably won’t feel super comfortable going – at least not in this lifetime:).

Lines
The lines in your hands are where things get interesting for me because you have a few key differences between your hands worth mentioning but we’ll talk about more than just the differences. Overall, I take these differences to mean that you are a resilient person who doesn’t let things affect her in the long-term (too much) as compared to others who’s entire lives might have been derailed had they undergone the same event.

In general your lifeline indicates that you will live out a life that is different from the lives that your family lives or the life that your family and heritage prepared you for. On your unconscious hand (your left hand) there is a gap in the line that is not indicated on your conscious hand that seems to be hitting your life in the next 5 years and lasting for maybe 1-2 years.

What this tells me is that you are heading toward a point in your life where you will be asked to take on a life that is larger than the life that you are living now. It will feel like a break from what you are currently preparing yourself for and may be uncomfortable for you at first based on everything your family and previous life prepared you for. However, on your conscious hand, it appears that everything is hunky dory and there is not a care in the world to be worried about. Everything goes smoothly without even a bump in the road.

As far as your path through life, it appears that unconsciously you may have felt like you may not have found your life’s path until age 30. However, as far as the actions that you took in life, it looks like you stuck with a path that you were on at age 25 or so and you have stuck with it since then.

I see a few major events recorded on your unconscious hand:

1. Age 18 (or so) – it looks like this event was neither good nor bad but strengthened your energy around life itself as your line is a little bit weaker prior to the event and strengthens immediately after.

2. Age 24 (or so) – this one appears to have not had negative effects on you personally – but there may have been an act of aggression in your family or a loved one may have suffered as a result of something that occurred around this time.

3. Age 28-30 (or so) – this event, again, seems to have to do with family or a loved one suffering through a misfortune that appears to originate from within the family – this one has the longest repercussions and travels furthest across your hand.

The kicker for me is, these items don’t even show up in your conscious hand. They didn’t affect your health. They didn’t affect your path through life and they didn’t cause you any lasting consequences so it doesn’t appear that you are personally suffering too much from these events, which is a good thing for you.

Head-line wise you have a bent towards the creative side of things but not overly so but you have enough intelligence to succeed where you wish to succeed in life.

You do have business acumen and, attached to your business indicators is a line that curves out to Mars – Mars is the God of “making things.” But Mars is also the God of War. So, either you are secretly a prosecutor, or you are secretly desirous of creating a business around making things.

As far as your emotions, it looks as if your emotions run deep and you’re not afraid to wear your heart on your sleeve but this makes you a giving partner in life and love.

Overview and Recommendations

So, Sarah, I’d love to hear your thoughts on the reading and if you can fill in any gaps on what your hands are attempting to indicate but I don’t have the capacity to put words around for you as I haven’t lived your life.

In the meantime, I’d like to give you permission to do two things, based on your hands:

1. You have the logic and the acumen to make decisions on your own but you seek comfort in making decisions by running them past other people – your friends, your loved ones, and most definitely, your family. You may find that others grow impatient with you to make a decision while you are busy running everything through your laundry list of what everyone else thinks because you have almost an overdependence on others for what you should do. Trust yourself. You’ll make the right decision, and even if you don’t, all those people will still be there for you when you need advice about how to choose again.

2. Remember that, whatever life brings you in the next few years ahead, you have the power, the stamina, and the courage to accept it without it harming you in any way. I am truly amazed at your level of resiliency. Whatever comes, you’re ready for it and you have the capacity to carry on life as usual.

Sarah B., I hope this was helpful. I’d love to see your hands in another few years to see how things are shaping up for you.

In the meantime, leave me a few comments about what you think of the reading so that I can learn for future readings that come after you. If you wouldn’t mind including answers to the questions of:

1. What do you do for a living (in general)
2. What you think of the reading
3. If you think you’ll make any changes to your perspective or the way you approach things based on the reading.

See you online!

Such cooool art by DJBronx.

This is my favorite holiday ever. I remember my sis and I spent one Halloween together and we were angels. Dark and Light. She was the light one. I had to do palm readings at a party and she came with me. I loved that. Like when we were little and she was with me all the time. She also did our makeup cuz she rocks at that.

Had a really good day…..food and exercise……fab. So nice to not eat late at night. Has really made me just feel better about myself. I also confirmed some other agents and checked into Serendipity. It is this party/show thing that would be awesome to be a part of. One of my tasks is to try and get involved as a singer with them. I’ll keep you posted. Boo!

After reading a blogger’s post on face-reading yesterday, I got inspired to find out more abou

After reading a blogger’s post on face-reading yesterday, I got inspired to find out more about palm-reading which I thought is more telling of a person’s life than one’s facial features. I’ve always been a huge fan of such stuff some people call unorthodox or superstitious. When I was in secondary school, I used to buy those daily horoscope predictions and read them every day, thinking the predictions were rather accurate, though I later realized they were too generic to not be true and could apply to almost everyone. Even though I don’t subscribe to such horoscope predictions now, I still can’t resist flipping to the horoscope section of magazines to get a glimpse of what’s to come in the month. I suppose everyone of us has this innate curiosity about how our future will turn out, especially with regards to work, family and love.

So I did a quick google and came upon this site which offers a rather comprehensive guide to palm-reading. What was intended to be a short procrastination turned out into a hour-long obsession with the palm.

The results I gathered from the DIY palm-reading:

I have a defined and long life line which means a long life full of vitality and health. That’s pretty comforting to know.

My heart line starts in between the index and middle finger. This indicates a simple yet materialistic take on love? Hmm.

I don’t have a marriage line. As much and as long as I try to scrutinize my palm, I can’t find any line below the little finger. This is supposed to mean that I won’t get married.

I can’t figure out what a fork in the head line represents. Schizophrenia? I hope not.

The thing with such predictive methods is that we often believe the good and dismiss the bad. Or you get yourself paranoid knowing that your life is taking a direction opposite of what you expect. Like how I try to look at my palm over and over again to find that line below the little finger.

Thankfully, I managed to find some consolation here,

“As you progress through your life, your palm lines will form and change according to your personality and experiences. Therefore, your life determines what your palm looks like, rather than the appearance of your palm determining your life. Palm reading is not a form of fortune telling. It won’t tell you what will happen in your life, rather, it will re-tell you what has already happened.”

That explains why I can’t find a marriage line!

So, if you are feeling bored and have the time to spare, do give a shot at palm-reading!

They actually covered the “Body, Soul, and Spirit Expo” at length.

Why is it that every time I find something odd or something that I might have never noticed or given

Why is it that every time I find something odd or something that I might have never noticed or given any real thought to on my body, I think I’m about to die?
Just a few months ago, being so bored, I tried to recall how to read palms. Upon looking down at my right hands palm, since the left hands reading was not suited to my taste, I found a random spot.

“What the fuck is that?!” I exclaimed, confused and horrified that I had no previous recollection of this mole. “Did I have this yesterday?”. I’ll never know, but it hasn’t vanished as easily as it showed up.

I’ve told myself that I seriously have to get it checked out, but considering my previous debacles with stupid doctors, I rather steer clear of doctors offices or hospitals. And if you’re curious about the debacle I speak of, I had a bout of (it’s called the same thing as one of u2’s songs)edit: It’s called VERTIGO and the doctor simply poked my belly, told me I might have an inner ear infection, then suggested an acne cream for my one zit I was sporting back in those days. I swear, no joke.

So here I am, possibly handling cancer on my right palm, and I am too stupid to just go to a damn doctor to get it looked at. Perhaps it’s because i’m scared of the doctor, but I’d like to think that I’m also avoiding the fact that I also believe that I have boob cancer and DEFINITELY don’t want to get one of those mammograms where they smash the heck out of my boobs. Like flat, I think. Plus, Aaron (guy with hat) told me that if it is cancerous they have a gun thing that can just chemo my hand. And this makes me wonder: Does this chemo gun make only my right hand bald? I mean, the back, of course, since I don’t have hairy palms.

I don’t roll that way.

However, ever since my sister found out she has a cyst in her head, I’ve been pretty convinced that I have a brain tumor. I get nervous every time I get a headache. I also think that I’m gonna have a brain aneurism in my sleep.

But that, my friends, shall be spoken of on another day.

I’m not the only one that thinks they’re dying here, right?

So, I’m kicking off this new blog with a reading for, who else . . . myself.

And I have to say that I really enjoyed objectifying my own palms through the scanning and review process.

So, here’s the lowdown on the basic information that I’ll include in each reading:

Gender: Female

Right-Handed

Age range: 35-40

The Take-Aways for Deb

My palms indicate that I approach life from a practical point of view and am able to take ideas and implement them fairly easily.

Although my hands indicate timidness and shyness and some restrictions in my early years of life, currently, my palms are indicating that I enjoy life and social interactions with others to an average degree (i.e. I am neither the life of the party nor the wallflower, but find myself somewhere in the middle).

My current difficulties, as expressed by my palms are related to allergies and a generally low energy level, and some starts and stops in my career path that, for the most part, I have chosen.

Based on my palms, I would probably see the greatest enhancement in the quality of my life, as I perceive it, by considering how to improve three things:

My natural proclivity to be reticent about issues directly affecting me

Being easily swayed away from goals based on emotions or the wishes of others

My mental restlessness which often leads to frustration with day-to-day monotony

What follows below is a more granular look at the basic traits that I, the owner of this blog, have that might make me a bit different from the “average” human being.

An Aside: One additional thing of note . . . my pale palms indicate a natural bent towards introspection. This, paired with my bent for communication and aptitude for writing, is a clear match-up with the nature of another blog I manage at Just a Change where I share ideas for personal and professional change – you’re invited to check that out as well.

The Itemization

Square Palms

I have, overall, a practical, fairly balanced approach to life. Square palms mean that I am able to move comfortably between the mental and real-world impact of thoughts and ideas.

Spatulate Palms

Palms are broader at the top than they are at the base, making me a mentally restless individual.

Pale Coloring

Pale palms indicate introspection and introversion.

Short Fingers

I move a bit more quickly to implement than the average person.

Square Fingers

Square fingers enable me to handle details well. The rounded tips on square fingers indicate that I prefer to work in tranquility to function at my best.

Short Pinky

I retain information well when it is communicated to me, but my short pinky means that I tend not to communicate my needs well in return. The fingers low setting on the hands also indicates that I may feel inferior to others and choose to withhold from expressing myself, intensifying this trait.

Short Thumb

I may tend to get swayed away from my goals based on the wishes of others and generally do not enjoy exerting my will over other people.

Line Color

With thin shallow lines, my energy levels for pursuing life’s various activities may be lower than others and I may require more sleep than others to recover from waking life.

Life Line

My Life Line arcs out meaning that I am extroverted enough to overcome my natural introversion. In addition, the lines diverging towards the bottom of the wrist at the end of the line indicate a love of travel.

Heart Line

I’m able communicate fairly well in my relationships but I do carry some emotional scar tissue around with me which could make me needy at times.

Head Line

A curved head line indicates that I can be creative and that I am willing to think along untraditional lines. I have what appears to be a fork on my head line (although the lines aren’t clearly attached), typically the mark of a writer.

Fate Line

A fate line that stops and starts as it moves up the hand indicates career and course changes throughout life. These have been protected changes, where one change smoothly took over for the next, but I will probably not achieve career satisfaction until into my mid-40’s, based on the indications in my palms.

Finger Spacing

Having pinky fingers spaced away from my other fingers indicates that I am comfortable implementing and taking action without assistance even though my other finger spacing might indicate that I would prefer to have conceptual approval prior to taking action.

The eyes may be the window to the soul, but there is no doubt that the hands are the windows to heal

The eyes may be the window to the soul, but there is no doubt that the hands are the windows to health.

When I was a teenager, naively contemplating career paths, I spent some time ’shadowing’ (read – “getting in the way of”) my mum, who was working at a GP surgery (Family Practice for my American readers) at the time. I vividly remember the fascination I felt watching her perform a kind of voodoo witchcraft. Every patient, seemingly regardless of complaint or condition, had teir hands examined. Watching my mother pouring over these confused individuals’ palms and nails, I couldn’t help but feel she was simply giving a mystical palm reading.

Now (as every good medical student soon learns), I understand that hands hold a multitude of clues about an individual’s health. In fact, it become so ingrained as one of the first steps of the routine examination, that you almost ‘palm read’ as a reflex. The hands can tell you about the heart, lungs, joints, blood, liver, skin, and almost every organ in between. There are markings that would indicate a potentially fatal infection of the heart, that could allow you to consider alcoholic liver disease, or tell you that their blood isn’t properly oxygenated. And there is certainly nothing esoteric about noticing tar staining from cigarette smoking, and extrapolating that they might have any of the hundreds of conditions caused by smoking!

Whether palm readers use some of the signs doctors do to predict life and health in an individual is anyone’s guess, but it certainly wouldn’t surprise me!

Until next time,

Jo
