Its the moment that we, as a worker been waiting for….. Yiipppiiee…..

After 4 hours of work, we need to recharge our energy ; not only physically but also our mind. During lunch time, we gain our energy. Regardless the menu or the venue, most important thing is that we let go all the things that connect to our work. Paper work, notebook radiation, phone calls, notes… etc..etc…

Just spending an hour time, having lunch, have a chit chat with colleagues, sufficient enough to make us more refresh….

From the article i read, it is said that better to have lunch outside your working area in order to get a  different air, difference nuance,  so our refreshment will work out. It is best to get out your workplace & go to green area such as park. But in Jakarta, its hard to find such place…  Many of workers come out their office & go to Malls;  for lunch or just  window shopping.

For you who can not go anywhere, just be satisfy  in your office canteen, but please.. not to make a work-thing conversation . It will disturb your relax time…

So… its your choice… having your lunch at the office, park or Mall?

As long as it will recharge your energy & your mind….

IT’S SO OVERWHELMING!

Let’s do a little recap. Sunday night Monica, Larry, Ian, – the cutest baby boy on earth - and Lily the dog, were suddenly displaced by a fire. Our volunteer Fire Department along with several surrounding community volunteer fire departments, EMS and local police saved the little house on Main Street from total destruction.  

With the help of the Red Cross, Monica was able to get her medications for the night. Monica has M.S., and has already been through a lot. Our local grocery store, The Village Market was on hand to help her get some groceries for the night. A big thank you to Judy and Bobbie! MacGyver and Billy Bob secured the house and covered the holes in the roof, since it had started to rain, and has rained everyday since the fire. Miss Laney watched over Lily and Chris, the best baby sitter in the world, gladly took baby Ian to her house away from all the commotion. ( and Sophia made things a little better on Tuesday)

Monica, Larry, Ian and Lily were able to go to Tami’s. (Monica’s Mom’s home.)  Which was a blessing since Tami is move out-of-state in the next two weeks. Funny how things happen! It gives her and Monica sometime together. Things always seem better when Mom is near and I’m a firm believer in, “everything happens for a reason”.

In the past three days, Monica has contacted the insurance company – State Farm - who quickly got a restoration company, Servpro, to go in and remove items that might be salvageable. They cleaned some emergencies cloths for them, and she should be hearing from a contractor with in the next few days. She is a little overwhelmed with all the paper work and running that is involved, but she has had a lot of support for close friends and family. Which is so important when you are faced with a life changing event.

I know Monica, Larry and the baby will make it through all of this. She is a strong little girl! I can see so many new and wonderful opportunities for her. Yesterday, while she sat at my table she told me that one thing she has already learned is that she will no long put importance on gathering useless items. Her hoarding days are over, she said. That is a lesson for us all! It’s not about what you have. Family, friends and life is much more important. There will be so many things she learns from this and so many things she will  be able to share.

Everything happens for a reason. Monica is perfecting her glass of lemonade and with every sip…..it will get better!

We’ve all heard the ramblings over the years from Wutang members about getting short changed by the RZA. Most notably Rae, Ghost and Ugod but Rza wasnt the only one holding back c.r.e.a.m. (pause).

Pretty good right? How did you feel about his De La Diss after not getting paid for said track? Classic!

I originally heard the songs in reverse order not knowing why Ghost was spitting so much venom. I believe Kel Dogs broke it down for me or was it Tenz?

Anyway,  this time Pretty Tony got his doe! He won his lawsuit against the Rza and got paid for back royalties. $158,255.18 at that. It sucks to hear about internal WU lawSUits, but at least they are still able to work together. Cash Rules!!

New job.. day 2.  I officially need coffee to stay awake… and I got hungry this morning.

I think I need to start bringing my own coffee from home and buy a bunch of breakfast foods so I don’t have to spend so much money on a coffee/breakfast habit.

I’m at my desk.. doing so much computer work.. reading all this paperwork.. preparing myself mentally to do a lot of writing and updating.. yikes!

Working.. hard.. hard.. hard..

Gonna try to control the clutter at my desk.. I’m determined not to make it a total disaster!

It’s not easy getting ready to move to a completely different country, but I made my mind this time and there is no looking back, no wrong reasons and no excuses. I am going no matter what and will work hard on it. To make it more drastic, I will make a vow of abstinence until I finish those first 4 years. God I know that will be hard but no distractions allowed. It’s our future.

First thing I did was think what I would want to study, love computer but I’m no nerd yet still I would like to know more about it. So far the best study for me is IT and will enhance it after I finish the 4 years.

Now I have in mind what I want to study I had to chose the city.  Any one will be ok with me but so far I have a family member in Tilburg, so hold on tight. Tilburg here I come. Hope me and my brother can handle each other.

With the option in schools and the city now work on the finance. Not easy and a lot of paper work.

And the future looks even brighter: Massachusetts’ Bristol Community College just launched an organic agriculture certificate program that will begin this fall to address an estimated need for 50 million organic farmers in the next 20 years. As of a few years ago, there were a mere 2 million organic farmers in the United States.

But composting, growing in harmony with Mother Nature and keeping the fields free of chemical pesticides and fertilizers is only one facet of the life of an organic farmer. There’s also the paperwork. Lots of it.

Por un día dejaremos aparcados los videojuegos o el Dvd y nos dedicaremos junto a nuestros Peter Panes a cultivar el arte de las manualidades. Para esta aventura solo necesitaremos unas tijeras, una mesa y ganas de pasar un rato de lo más entretenido.

¿Quién en su niñez no ha jugado alguna vez a vestir a sus muñecas o muñecos preferidos con trajes de papel con esos recortables donde se podían combinar multitud de vestidos, zapatos y complementos, para crear un estilo propio?, ¡cuánta gente del mundo de la moda habrá tenido como base aquellos recortables!.

Este pasatiempo tan simple y viejo como la vida misma,  ha ido cayendo en el olvido debido a la variedad de juegos y juguetes que todos los años nos ofrecen y nos meten por los ojos los medios publicitarios, cada vez menos ingeniosos y manuales.

Hoy comentamos un recortable nuevo, original y diferente que la empresa Imaginarium encargó al ilustrador maño Alberto Gamón y que fiel a su estilo geométrico nos presenta un cuaderno con dos figuras  a  las que  consigue imprimir un toque de amabilidad y dulzura, además  de seis trajes para recortar, con todo lujo de  detalles.

Paper Work, título de este cuaderno, es un recortable de oficios, un clásico actualizado que da mucho juego, con una cuidada presentación, donde 2 muñecos de silueta similar y actitudes diferentes, deberán intercambiarse 6 trajes recortables de oficios: buzo, leñador, esquiador, futbolista, fotógrafo y cartero, que encajan a la perfección en cualquiera de las dos figuras. Los muñecos vienen ya troquelados para facilitar el corte.

A partir de ahora los más pequeños nos demostrarán su habilidad con las tijeras, su imaginación para combinar trajes y su capacidad para inventarse una historía donde los protagonistas sean un buzo, un cartero, o el portero de un equipo de futbol de los años 50.

I have to say, Office Space is one of those movies that is so funny because it is almost 100% true.  Most people in the corporate world probably live in a cube farm/jungle… (please post other names in the comments if you have them).  Most people have had many experiences with to much paper work (tps reports) and not doing it perfectly the first time.  What is the deal with companies creating so much paper work for themselves to do?  I don’t understand that, why do we create reports, then create cover letters then create memos that go along with the reports?  Should the report be sufficient?  This may be particularly bad in the aircraft industry working with the FAA and the NTSB not to mention a handful of others acronym agencies and organizations but I would imagine that it is a wide spread occurrence throughout the nation.  Why do we create so much paper work that the companies must higher entire groups of people who’s sole responsibility is to check the paper work or route it (paper trail people)?  If companies want to cut costs, figure out a way to streamline the paper work and remove the hassle.

Companies layoff the technical people that are doing the grunt work while they hang on to the paper trail people, which really doesn’t make sense since the people who do the grunt work and create the original reports and no longer their which translates to less work for the paper trail people.  Seems a little counter-intuitive to me.

On top of all of this, Peter points out the the Bob’s that he has far more than one boss.  Isn’t that the truth!  In most cases they aren’t all “direct” bosses, they are higher levels of management.  Many large companies are extremely top heavy, there are some many layers of management that no one really knows what half of the titles mean or where they fall in the hierarchy.  The sad part is that many CEO’s, presidents, senior vice-presidents, vice-presidents, directors and so on are all highly compensated positions so now only is the management hierarchy top heavy but the pay scale is top heavy.  It’s no wonder many companies are finally starting to topple.

Don’t get me wrong, I am very happy to have a job and I really enjoy the work I do!  I just feel that there are a lot of inefficiencies in the way American companies do business.  Let’s hope this economic recession will trim some of the fat and help streamline companies so they are able to efficiently do their best to satisfy their customers.
