Al Unser Jr. was arrested for drunk driving and now has been suspended from Indycar indefinitely and removed from Race Control. You don’t want to kick a person while they’re down and Al Unser Jr. has battled alcohol problems in the past. Still I don’t think anyone watching Indycar over the last few years hasn’t wondered at least once if they were drunk during the races. Turns out those thoughts may have more merit than originally believed. No word yet on who will be his replacement or if in fact he will be replaced (Race Control could go down to 2 people).
