Soo, hier it is I just wanna to compare the videos of qualification round for the World Cup 2010 ^^

Soo, hier it is I just wanna to compare the videos of qualification round for the World Cup 2010 ^^ Some of them are wore than I though some are better, but dont speek too much, let’s take a look for it

At first there was a TWPS video… I just thought : “Yeah, it can be good, such spinners like BaoO or Rex.. It must be good!”. And I wasn’t wrong. The most spinners showed us really great level. But there are some negatives, too. I was very suprised as I’ve seen the combo from C.Y.W. It was IMO soo bad for that collab. Then it comes! It burns! Evolution, known as “skilling machine” (bust, midbak 1,5 world record and 2nd place in FL TA…) did such a great combo! Those busts at the beginning or stylish elements like “ayatori trick” and the ending were really nice to see. x1312 was nice ,too. Those hybrids were nice ,but the “climax” of the combo was definietly the finisher. A little bit lucky but high skilled. Rex! It was IMO the combo of collab. Soo good with a MX He just did it so well as it were nothing for him… And the ending, just “kaboom”! Frog and minziam… We can see, that they are not so experianced.. But I dont know the spinning of those both spinners so I will let it. The last three combos were from Joey, TK Spin and BaoO. All of them have shown a good spinning, especially BaoO with his great “wiper passages”. The editing wasn’t that amazing like the spinning, but it can come through.

Opinion of someone other: (Banza from GPC) : “The TWPS has showed us IMO a very very nice collab. The editing was artless but such editing is good editing. Just without needless elements. The music fit to spinning but there was one thing, which wasn’t that nice. I mean the picture at 1 : 04 … It was kinda needless.
The second spinner was incredible! I loved also the combos from Joey and Rex, because they spun und light SC mods and it was amazing! The spinner, who was IMO not that good , was frog with his camera and angle. The spinning from him was also bad :/“

Oh dear GPC ! At the beginning I just want to say that the editing has shocked me. I required much more from Gefühl than that, sorry :/ Now to spinning.. The beggining was very strong, done by Minwoo. As a second best penspinner in the world he has to show us a very high level. Yeah he just did it. The combo was quite interesting and the part like “Counter Index Around [s 0,5]? ~ spider spin rev [s 0,5] ? ~ Spreads (bla bla!) ” was godlike That style killed me … <3 Then Product. I guess it was his best combo or just best combo I have ever seen from him. IMO he had a style and did nice parts in his combo, not bad. Now we are coming to BBR. As I expected from him : 2p1h combo. Really nice , skilled but that style… I dont really like it. Nice part with FL TA’s cont. and finally strong ending. Pretty nice! As next -> taichi1082. Nice beginning with a Neobak ~ WristAround ,but I think that he just wanted to do so much “kaboom-parts” that it was too much.. Sorry, but it lookd pretty unnatural. Very skilled, style was good but I missed some good linkings. Steffen… Very strong beginning (Hai tua ~ Handbust) but then? Hmm it looked like anit – taichi… A lot of spam. The last 2 combos depend on style. Thumbskiller and Lekunga, two men, who have so muuuch style! Thumbskiller did well with Pinkybak 1,5 ~ Pinkybak and that Inverse Shadow Part. I love that combo. Lekunga was also nice and he improoved his ending (FL TA Release cont x3)! Pretty nice GPC!

Opinion of someone other (Zevi from SPC) : ” My opinion is pretty similar to Lawliet’s except for Lekunga. I just have to say that I dont like his style … Steffen’s and taichi’s styles aren’t sooo beautiful ,too. the combos from them had a couple of hard elements, but if the style doesn’t satisfy me then the combo has to be very very very hard. To editing : I found the idea with the flag not that bad, but what I missed was the “wow-effect”. Some 3D in editing would be nice, because they are spectacular. P.S. I missed also The Kook and Kazeem , who didn’t give his clip .. T_T“

Yes, yes. Ladies and gentlemen! The THPSC. Ya, it was in any case a collab from which I expected a lot. At the beginning I have to say something about the editing. It was made by Supawit127 and I think it wasn’t that bad. I mean it was of course from Andrew Cramer site, but he did it not bad. Ok that was about editing… Now we are coming to spinning. Tigeroat has shown us a great combo with super wipers. I really like it, but I think he can do it better ;] .Then tonnam ,wow you know I was really suprised. Nice pinkybaks 1,5 release and spread at the end. All in all it was a good stylish combo. The next player is pr3mz . I can say only that he has typical THSPC style like Dongza or TheLegend. The combo wasn’t bad, but it was definietly not the level of THPSC. TheLegend was awesome, I mean he just used a lot of the slots like 24 or 13. His wiper at the end was incredible! Dongza as always. I think it was standart combo for him except from that awesome ending The pen fits not so good to him IMO ;/ . THe combo from GZSakuraz looks a bit sloppy at the beginning so the “first look” of that combo wasn’t that good. The rest really stylish with nice ending (love ya that SWEET DROP ). Supawit! Omg, the beginning just kicked me from my chair.. 4 busts cont. release! Then some “supawit-like xD” spreads and an awesome ending, grats! The next one was Spinnerpeem! That was very suprising. He just did something other than always. Some nice linkings, some nice baks and that was! I expected more from him, but such a change isn’t bad for him 2 last players : 3DTPS and BaiMai.. For both of them : no words to describe, just a masterpiece!

Opinion of someone other (Dongza from THPSC) :

[Genesis] UncleD’ong , ลุงโด่ง おじさんドン says:

The editor must be “3D”, but he have some problem. We have to change the editor to Supawit127, Baimai and make the collab in 1 – 2 days before the DL.

_________________

As last sentence, as a credo for all collaborations I can just quote Spinnerpeem :

[.:: Peem ::.] メ GCG says:

Yeah I like all countries

As next : SPC, FPSB and KPSA!

*BurntIre*
It was another quiet night in front of the computer. I was sitting there, typing happily, when a movement out in the darkness caught my eye. I stood and leaned over the computer to get a better look out the window. Nothing. How curious. Well, maybe it was just the dog. So I sat back down and smiled as I continued reading everyone’s posts on SetApartLife.
A sound–like someone tripped over something. A hushed voice. Then silence. Now, my dog may be smart, but not smart enough to talk like a human! Someone–something–was out there.
I logged out of my account and crept to the back door that led out to the deck. I flipped on the light switch, but the bulb must’ve burned out. I swung the screen door open and stepped out. Nothing. I almost turned to go back inside, but something made me go out into the yard. I had just reached the tireswing when a figure jumped out from behind the tree, waving wildly.
I shrieked.
“Hey, it’s just me,” the shadowy figure spoke.
“Huh?”
“PinkQT–you know from the forum.”
“PinkQT?” I repeated. “What on earth–how did you find me? What are you doing here?”
“Whoa, one question at a time.” PinkQT leaned against the tree. “You thought we were just joking, didn’t you?”
“Joking?” I must’ve looked stupid with my mouth open.
“Yeah.”
Two more figures stepped out.
I gasped. “Who are they??”
“Elisabeth and Linz,” PinkQT answered with a grin.
“Uhh…” I swayed. “This is not happening.”
“It’s happening,” laughed Linz. “We said we’d come, didn’t we?”
I stammered “But–I didn’t think–”
“It was easy,” Elisabeth said, brushing her arms off. “I knew right where to come.”
“Uh-huh,” said Linz. “That’s why we ended up in that backyard over on W. 2nd Street.”
Elisabeth glared.
“Come on,” PinkQT said, “we’ve got more places to go.”
“Go?”
“I wish you’d stop repeating everything we say,” Elisabeth rolled her eyes.
“Sorry.”
“Yup,” PinkQT replied. “We’re going to find as many members as we can–unless Elisabeth fails us.”
Elisabeth snorted and linked arms with Linz and me. “Trust is the key.”
“Right. I trusted you right into a puppy pile–”
“Who next?” Linz asked as we walked off into the darkness.

Linz
“I say we go to Texas to find Song and HAHA!” *BurntIre* said.
“Ha,” pinkQT said dryly. “The only reason you want to go to Texas is to find Dov. I told you I wasn’t interested in that.”
“Not so,” replied *BurntIre*, a little too quickly. “I’m not talking about HIM anymore, remember? Besides, there are a lot of members in Texas. Have you looked at the memberlist lately? Lily Among Thorns, Mars Hill… lots of people.”
“While we’re here, I say we should go visit Danillo88 and Samuel,” Elisabeth said. “We could see the cute little boy in real life, and stop and pick up some cute things for him along the way. I love shopping for babies.”
“Well…?” asked pinkQT.
“Perfect,” I said. “Let’s go. Do you know how to get there, Breathless Lizard?”
“Of course I do,” she said, a bit indignantly. “Trust me, remember?”
“Right. Trust you not to lead us astray,” I said. Then, I turned and winked at the others, patting my pocket where the map I had bought at the convenience store was just barely visible.
“So, which way?” asked *BurntIre*
“North for awhile, and then westish a little,” replied Elisabeth confidently. “I’ll let you know as we go. My sense of direction is super, guys. Don’t worry, I’ll get us there.”

And so it was that the four of us set out in a North-westish direction. (We hoped, anyway.)

*BurntIre*
“I haven’t seen one cactus,” I muttered. “We’re probably still in Kansas!”
“Ohhh,” PinkQT began to sing, “we’re off to see the Wizard! The wonderful Wizard of Oz!”
“OK, Lis,” Linz sighed, “tell us where we are.”
Elisabeth squinted up at the sky. “Right where we should be!”
“Any closer to Wan–I mean, Song and HAHA?” I said.
“We’re getting there. You can’t expect to walk across half the US in just a few hours can you?” Elisabeth huffed.
PinkQT pointed to a house with a light in the second story. “Let’s try up there.”
“They live in an apartment,” Linz pointed out.
I exclaimed, “Maybe it’s Wan–Hill.”
“Wan Hill?” PinkQT giggled.
“She must get tired of being called Mars Hill,” I retorted. “So… Wan Hill.”
“Alright,” Elisabeth said gaily, “Let’s go see Wan Hill!”
We scrambled over the fence and crawled through the backyard.
“Do they have a dog?” PinkQT hissed.
“I don’t know,” Linz answered. “Why?”
“I keep thinking of W. 2nd Street.”
“Shh!” Elisabeth hushed. “They might hear us!”
I rose to my knees. “How on earth are we getting there?”
“Maybe we could climb on the garage roof,” suggested PinkQT. She tiptoed to the garage, climbed on a garbage can, and on to the roof. “Simple!”
“I’m afraid of height,” I muttered, but managed to scoot myself up.
We edged ourselves closer to the window with the light on inside.
“Can you see anything?” Elisabeth whispered.
PinkQT shook her head. “I have to get closer.”
I peered over her shoulder. “It’s a female.”
PinkQT rolled her eyes at me. “Well Wannabe sure wouldn’t be wearing his hair in a ponytail! I don’t think…” She shot Elisabeth a look.
Elisabeth smiled and shook her head.
Suddenly the ponytailed female turned around. Her jaw dropped.
“It’s OK, it’s OK!” PinkQT said quickly. “It’s just PinkQT from SetApartLife. And BurntIre, Linz, and Elisabeth.”
I sighed, “You’re probably not Wan–Mars Hill.”
“No, I’m His Polished Arrow.”
Linz laughed. “Nice to meet you, Tex!”
Elisabeth shook her head. “I don’t know what happened… hey, want to join us? We’re headed for Texas.”
“Sure.” HPA stepped out her window. “I’ve always wanted to see Texas.”
“The people too,” PinkQT grinned at me.
We slid off the roof and allowed the darkness to hide us from sight.

“I know where I’m going,” Elisabeth said for the tenth time.
“Sure,” PinkQT muttered.
Linz turned her back and quietly unfolded her map.
“Can you tell where we are?” HPA whispered.
“No,” Linz whispered back. “I guess we’ll have to just keep on following her.”
“Down this street,” Elisabeth called. “See all those apartments?”
“What in the world?” I said. “Guys look over here…”
They followed me over to the other side of the street where a figure lay sprawled across a bench.
HPA leaned down. “He looks familiar.”
“BOO!”
HPA jumped back and screeched.
“Ha, got you going there!” The young man slapped his knee and rocked back and forth with laughter. He suddenly became serious. “You don’t happen to have a Mt. Dew, do you?”
Linz rolled her eyes. “SuedeKnight.”

“SuedeKnight!” HPA said. “Elisabeth! SuedeKnight lives in Wisconsin. Wisconsin! We are in WISCONSIN!”
“So?” Elisabeth said, unconcerned. “They have great cheese here!”
“So… Wisconsin is practically in the total opposite place as Texas!” *BurntIre* wailed. “We’ll NEVER get to Wan – um, Song and HAHA’s!”
“HAHA!” SuedeKnight added. “You forgot the HAHA!”
“Obviously, Elisabeth, you flunked geography.” HPA remarked dryly.
“No, guys, listen. I know what I’m doing. Really. All we have to do is walk back along this street, and then when we get to that big highway, we’ll follow it.”
I checked my map. This actually seemed like a good plan. We couldn’t get too lost if we were following a major highway, right?
“Sounds like a plan,” SuedeKnight said. “Let’s go.”

We trudged along in silence for awhile, and then HPA voiced the same thought I was having. “I’m starving.”
“Me too,” said pinkQT
“You should have brought Donut Dude with you,” *BurntIre* pointed out. “I could use a powdered donut right now.”
“I could use a Mountain Dew,” SuedeKnight said. “In fact, I think I could use an AMP.”
“It’s cool, guys. There’s a gas station right up the road,” Elisabeth said. “I remember seeing it on our way in.”

*BurntIre*
The dimly lit gas station sat alone on the side of the road. A lone pickup truck was parked by the door.
“Spooky,” HPA shivered.
“Yeah,” I said. “You know, I could go another hour or so without eating–”
“Well, I can’t go another hour or so without a Mt. Dew!” protested Suede.
“OK, then.” Elisabeth pushed him forward. “You go first.”
“Me? Why me?”
“Because you’re a guy. Our warrior poet, you know?”
Suede muttered something under his breath, but obediently opened the door.
A bell jingled.
The man behind the counter looked up. He resembled the giant from Jack and the Beanstalk. Huge arms. Full beard. Glittery eyes.
“Sir,” Suede squeaked. “Do you sell pop?”
“What kind of a place do you think this is, eh? I mean what would a gas station be without pop, eh?”
“Eh?” I repeated with a frown. “We must be closer to the border than I thought.”
Linz was already examining her map, turning it this way and that.
“In the back,” the man continued.
The rest of us went down various aisles.
“Powdered donuts over here!” PinkQT called.
“Thanks,” I said.
“Ah, you got any other money?” the man was asking Suede. “We don’t take American.”
“You don’t take American?” Suede sputtered, can in hand. “The last time I checked Wisconsin was still a state.”
“Wisconsin, eh?” The man made a noise that sounded like a chuckle. “This is Canada.”
I froze.
PinkQT gasped.
Linz whipped out her map.
Elisabeth’s mouth opened and closed.
HPA slumped against the candy rack.
“Canada!” I wailed. “Now we’ll never get to Wannabe!”
“Or Wan Hill,” PinkQT added. She gave Elisabeth a dark look.
“We… must’ve made a wrong turn,” Elisabeth said weakly.
Suede mused, “I don’t even have my passport on me.”
“Thank you, mister,” Linz sighed. “I guess that Mt. Dew will have to wait another hour.”
The bell above the door jingled.
“Hi, Pat!” a girl’s voice called. “I just put ten liters in.” She paused. “Hi, there.”
HPA looked the girl up and down. “Kris?”
The girl’s left eyebrow lifted. “How did you know my name?”
HPA’s face lit up. “Hey, guys, it’s Kris! I’m His Polished Arrow–you know, from the forum? It’s a good thing you posted that picture of yourself.”
“Wow,” said Kris, “I never expected to meet any of you here!”
“Neither did we,” PinkQT muttered.
“You’ll have to give me your names–”
“Linz.”
“Elisabeth.”
“BurntIre”
“SuedeKnight, HAHA!”
Kris gave him a puzzled look.
“PinkQT. We were headed for Texas, but SOMEHOW we ended up in Wisconsin, and then here.”
“Texas, huh?”
“Yeah,” I nodded. “Want to tag along?”
“That might be fun… sure!”
Arms linked–Suede walked behind us–we headed back down the highway.

His Polished Arrow
“Come on, Burnt Ire! We’ll never make it to Texas if you keep trudging behind!” Pink QT admonished.
“Sorry, guys; my feet are killing me! I shouldn’t have worn these flip flops.” Burnt Ire stopped and looked down at her worn flip flops in disgust.
“Well, I think I saw a billboard for a shopping mall back there. Maybe they’ll have a shoe store,” I suggested.
“Yeah, and maybe they’ll have Mountain Dew!!!” Suede Knight’s voice rose excitedly.
We walked on in the direction indicated by a brightly lit sign that promised an “exhilarating shopping experience”. As we finally approached the shopping mall, Linz pointed out a mall directory near the entrance. Everyone examined the directory until we found what we were looking for.
“Hey, look! They have a Payless!” Elisabeth exclaimed.
“And a food court; don’t forget the food court!” Suede added.
“Good, let’s go! I think I’ve put too many miles on these shoes,” Burnt Ire said with a grin.
Kris, Linz and Suede headed for the food court while the rest of us went into the Payless shoe store. After browsing through the store for about 20 minutes, Kris, Linz and Suede came to join us. I noticed they were empty handed.
“What happened to getting a Mountain Dew?” I asked.
“We couldn’t find any in the whole place!” Suede was flabbergasted.
“Yeah, I guess they just don’t believe in serving a drink with that much caffeine here.” Kris laughed.
“I think these shoes will work…” Burnt Ire held out a pair for us to examine.
“Oh, are you sure you don’t want to try these on?” Elisabeth came over carrying at least five more shoe boxes piled precariously in her arms.
“I think I only need one pair of shoes,” Burnt Ire giggled.
“Uhh, be careful, there, Elisabeth…those boxes don’t look like they’re going to stay stacked like that!” Linz warned. But alas, her warning came too late. Elisabeth stumbled into the next aisle right into a short girl with thick brown hair and beautiful gray blue eyes. Shoes flew in every direction.
“Ack! I’m sorry!” Elisabeth apologized to the girl who was rubbing her elbow from the collision.
“That’s okay…it was just an accident,” the girl replied. “Are you okay?”
All of us came rushing around the corner to see if we could be of assistance.
“That’s what you get for trying to carry so many shoes at once!” Pink QT scolded.
“Hey, let’s get these shoes cleaned out of the aisle. Burnt Ire already has a pair picked out…I’m ready to hit the road. I need some caffeine like now!” Suede Knight started directing the shoe clean up.
“Burnt Ire?” The short girl with blue eyes questioned, raising one eyebrow.
“Well that’s not really my name,” Burnt Ire replied. “That’s just what my friends here called me. It’s my screen name on this really cool forum called…”
“SetApartLife!” The girl finished.
“Hey, how’d you know?” I asked.
“I’m on that forum, too!” the girl exclaimed. “I’m HisReverentArcaneDaughter…and who are all of you?”
Kris quickly introduced everyone and explained, “We’re on our way to Texas to find some of the other forum members. Care to come along?”
“Okay! That sounds exciting! But we’d better get these shoes cleaned up first,” HRAD answered.
“Woohoo! Let us be going from this place then.” I said.
It took just a minute or two to clean up the shoe mess with all hands helping. Soon we had purchased a pair of shoes for Burnt Ire and we were on our way back to the highway.

*BurntIre*
“Are we even headed in the right direction?” HRAD asked.
“Of course!” Elisabeth declared. “You just have to trust me on this.”
Suede snorted. “And they say MEN are direction-challenged.”
“Let’s check out that house over there,” Kris suggested. “The one with a light on in the kitchen.”
“Maybe they’ll have Mt. Dew,” Suede said hopefully.
PinkQT whispered to Linz, “Men DO only have one thing on their minds.”
“Hold it.” I held up a hand. “Who’s going to open their door to a bunch of trampish-looking folks like us?”
“She has a point,” HPA said after a moment of silence. “I sure wouldn’t. Maybe only one of us should knock. How about HRAD? She doesn’t look like she crawled through somebody’s backyard.”
PinkQT grunted.
“I’ll go too,” I said. “It might not be a sweet dear lady behind that door.”
“OK,” HRAD nodded.
“Don’t forget to ask for a Mt. Dew!” Suede hissed.
I generously let HRAD knock.
The back door opened, revealing a pretty young woman.
“Yes? Can I help you?”
“Do you have a Mt. Dew?”
The sound of Suede’s voice made me jerk. “You were supposed to wait–”
“Stay right where you are.”
HRAD sucked in her breath.
The girl was holding a pan over her head, ready to chuck it at the first person who moved.
Elisabeth came up behind us. “It’s OK,” she said. “We’re not robbers or anything…”
The pan moved threateningly.
“Good move, Suede,” PinkQT said.
“Suede?” The pan lowered. “As in SuedeKnight?”
I glanced up at him. “My, but you do get around.”
“Are you all from the forum?”
Linz stepped up. “Yes, we are. I’m Linz.”
“PurpleKryptonyte. Sorry about–” She giggled and placed the pan on the counter. “I didn’t quite know what to expect.”
Kris laughed. “Suede does look a little… questionable. I’m Kris–a fellow Canadian.”
“What are you all doing here? And at this time of night?”
“We’re trying to get to Texas,” HPA explained. “You wouldn’t believe how many members we keep running into. Do you want to come along?”
“Hey, it sounds exciting! OK.”
“Do you have a Mt. Dew?” Suede tried.
“Nope, sorry,” PurpleKryptonite shook her head. “Would Coke work?”
“Coke!” Suede gagged. “Let’s get going before I pass out from lack of Mt. Dew…”

I waited for Linz to crawl up next to me. “What’s your map say?”
Linz pulled the now-tattered paper from her back pocket. “Well, I don’t think we’re in Canada anymore. As we once again followed Elisabeth’s lead we were all startled when my phone started ringing with an electronic sounding version of “YMCA”.
I giggled, “Sorry guys, that’s my dad, could you hang on a second?”
As I answered the phone I could hear the rest of our little group talking and sitting down for a rest. After talking to Dad for a few minutes I put my hand over the mouthpiece “Hey Elisabeth!”
Elisabeth turned to look at me, “Yeah?”
“Do you know where we are for sure?”
“Welllll,” she sighed. “No, not really.”
“Okay.” I resumed my phone conversation. “Nope, we’re pretty much lost.”
“Great!” Suede piped up, “I might collapse soon, you all know I’m too old for this!!”
“Hey guys!!!” I turned back to face them, excited, “Dad said that there is a tracker in my phone and he can use my number and find our location from the internet!!”
Everyone cheered. After waiting a few minutes I had some more good news. “He said that we are in Minnesota and he is actually quite near here with his semi. Do y’all want a quick ride?”
“Yes!” Everyone was in complete unison.
“Hey now, everybody calm down!” said HPA. Silence reigned for a few minutes.
BurtIre started giggling. “Sorry guys, I am getting tired and when I get tired I get hysterical.”
“Me too!” chimed in Kris, HRAD, QT, and Linz.
Suede looked around wildly. “Oh no, you mean, I am the only male surrounded by hysterical females?!”
“I wouldn’t be to sure about that,” rang out a male voice from behind them.
Kris dove for the ground. QT screamed, Suede jumped to his feet, ready to defend the girls like a proper warrior-poet. Linz whipped out her map to use as a weapon.
“Wait a minute guys, it’s me, Peter.” said the voice
“Peter?” questioned Suede.
“You know vigilance009 from Eric and Leslie? I have been following you for awhile now. Not hard with all the noise you are making.” While speaking, Peter steps out of the shadows.
“Peter, my man. You can help me keep all these hysterical woman under control.” Suede told him with evident relief in his voice.

*Dov’s narrative*
You all sat on the side of the road, boredly waiting to be picked up by Pink’s daddy. The crickets chirrup, the wind in the trees softly rushes…and all but Peter loudly snore.
*BurntIre* is startled awake by the roar and rattle of a diesel engine. She looks up to see a semi pulling up next to them.
Pink sees a familiar head stick out of the window, and holler, “Hey, everybody. I finally found you. You guys know how easy it is to get lost up here?”
To which everyone except Lizardbreath responds with a resounding, “Yes!”
In the shadows, Lizardbreath simply mutters a doleful “hrumph.”
Once inside (the good Lord knows how you all fit in the cab) you all wanted to know where PinkQT’s Dad was going.
“Well, this may be a bit of a detour for you all, but I’m actually going to New Zealand.”
Peter, always the practical one, asks, “How are you going to get there in a truck?”
Mr. PinkQT’s Dad replied, “It’s a work of fiction, son. For the sake of believability, we’ll say this is an amphibious car. Now please stop questioning the plot line. Use your imagination.”
So you all rode merrily along toward NZ.

“I’m squished,” HRAD said. “We’re packed in the sleeper of this semi like sardines in a can.”
“‘Cept Pink,” Kris said. “She’s lucky to be riding up front.”
“I’m glad we don’t have to depend on Elisabeth’s directions, at least for a little while,” *BurntIre* said.
“I’m just glad I finally got my Mt. Dew at the Flying J,” Sir Suede said.
I looked around at my companions. Most of us were sitting Indian-style on the twin bed, some of us were on the floor between the seats and the bed, and HPA found herself a spot in the small closet behind the passenger seat. “I’m just glad we can get a ride. My feet were starting to hurt,” I said.
“I don’t know about you,” said ~PurpleKryptonyte~ “but I’m going to try to get a little shut-eye. I only got a half-hour or so while we were waiting for Mr. QT.”
We agreed it would be best to rest while we could, and where it would be slightly more comfortable than stretching out on the ground. So, despite the voices coming over the CB radio, we all fell asleep.
We were startled awake by the truck coming to a sudden, jerky stop. “What in the world?” Mr. QT exclaimed. “Why are they walking along the highway?”
“Who? Where?” pinkQT asked her dad.
“Over there,” he replied. “Dressed in dark clothes – you can hardly see them. They almost walked out in front of me.” He rolled down his window. “Hey!” he shouted. “What are you doing? Who are you?”
“Sorry, sir,” a male voice replied. “We heard some friends of ours were headed this way, and we were hoping to meet up with them. Have you by any chance seen a group of 10 or so people? I think they’re headed west.”
Peter poked his head out between the seats. “You mean us?” he called. “From setapartlife?”
“Yes! It’s them,” the other person with the young man said. “It’s us! Reserved4one and faithful2thecall!”
“Climb in,” pinkQT said. “We’re headed for New Zealand.”
“How are we going to get to New Zealand in the truck?” Reserved asked, bewildered.
“You’ll see,” was all Mr.QT said.
We shifted positions to make room for two more in the truck.
“Hope your dad has a motor home somewhere down the line,” said Kris.

PinkQT
The thirteen of us in my dad’s truck were getting a little bit cramped, despite the fact that the cab was larger than normal sized ones. I was getting a little bit hyper after my short rest. “Does anyone want to thumb wrestle? Someone else can sit up front!!!”
SuedeKnight volunteered, “I’ll sit up front, someone is bound to knock over my mountain dew back here!”
So we switched places. As I settled into my new seat a familiar tune came onto the radio.
“Hey,” my dad suddenly said, “By the second verse everyone had better sing along!! This is called ‘Ducky-ducky Doo’.”
“Aw, come on Dad, the girls sing that constantly at home, can’t we skip it this time?”
“Nope..here goes: I’ve got a cute little duck, you’ve got a little duck too, you hug your little duck, I’ll hug my little duck too. Duck, duck, ducky ducky duck…..” I rolled my eyes and laughed. “Come on guys, we might as well sing it with him.”
In almost no time at all everyone knew the words and was singing along. When the song finished, everyone was awake and laughing.
“That was kinda fun!” BurntIre said. “I’ll remember that song for the rest of my life!”
I refused to be sidetracked “Come on guys, I am bored! Who dares to thumb wrestle me?”
Linz looked at me. “I guess I will.”
A thumb wrestle tournament quickly ensued. Suddenly amidst the cheering and loudness from the back Dad spoke up, “Hey guys, I hate to break up the fun. But I have a surprise for you.”
Everyone quieted down and looked up front.
“We’re at our next stopping point.”
Everyone poured out of the truck and started stretching their legs.
Once again Dad called for attention. “Look to your left.” Everyone faced the direction he pointed and gasped. There was a large cruise ship at dock, across the front of it was a large banner “Welcome Setapart Forum Members”.
“This is how y’all are going to get to New Zealand.”
Everyone started talking at once.
“Dad you rock!!” I quickly gave him a hug. All too soon it was time to leave.
“Nice meeting you Mr.QT!” vigilance009 said.
Everyone shook Dad’s hand before boarding. Once we left dock, we all waved from the guardrail of the ship until he was a speck in the distance across the waves.

Metal Gear Solid -Philanthropy is a movie based on the well known video game franchise. The cool thing about this movie is that it is not a Hollywood-style production; It is a movie made out of the passion of some fans, non profit and for no budget.

I was happily surprised by the result. Impressive if you ask me for a no-budget flick. At least it is setting the standard for the rumored ‘official’ movie.

This is part 1 of 4 a part series for Transgender Awareness Month. The following pieces will explor

This is part 1 of 4 a part series for Transgender Awareness Month. The following pieces will explore the realms of the gender binary in Western society through the experiences of three individuals.

It’s March of 2006. Kayla Horn stares at her closet anxiously. Biting her nails down past the ends of her fingers, they bleed. Her closet is daunting.

Two sets of clothes reside in the closet, a side for men’s, and a side for women’s; she’s sharing it with someone else. Horn cannot wait until she is able to take all of those men’s clothes out of that closet and toss them out, so that man is out of her life forever.

In April 2006, Horn began living full time as a woman. That man she threw out of her life is actually the body that she was born into, a body she knows she doesn’t belong in.

“It was such a relief for me to get rid of the clothes,” says Horn. “It was a relief to come home and see nothing but clothes for me in that closet.”

Horn got to a point in 2005 where she could no longer live in a male gender role. She couldn’t wear male clothes, it wasn’t who she was. She knew she needed to transition and live full time as a woman.

“Full time is living in the gender that you know that you are,” she says.

Naturally, this meant taking all of those masculine clothes and throwing them out. Wearing make-up. Accepting the good and bad that comes with moving through this society as a woman. This also meant recognizing the ways in which women, and trans women, might be marginalized in this society.

“It terrifies me to think that there are people out there that would hurt me because I was born this way,” she says. “This isn’t a mental condition, it’s a medical condition.”

Finding understanding was hard. From a very young age she knew, but growing up in the American mid-west, Nebraska, left no room to express her feminine qualities with a male body. She remained closeted for a very long time, and it wasn’t until she moved to Colorado in the early 1990s that she was able to untangle the complex web of her masculine social conditioning, like unraveling a flowered cable-knit sweater of her true identity of being a woman.

At first, she began to cross-dress in secret. After not being able to hide her true self from her wife at the time any longer, she revealed it. She began doing outreach with the local chapter of Tau Sigma Kappa—a cross-dressing support group, but it wasn’t until she met a post-op transsexual woman, Jenny Jackson, that she realized that she was more than a cross-dresser.

“You’re a girl,” Jackson said to her. “And you need to find a therapist.” Horn needed to figure herself out before losing her mind in a world that said male body parts equals a masculine mind.

She began with therapy, which was not so successful. The therapists couldn’t understand the difference between a transvestite, a cross-dresser and a transsexual. She was not a man dressing up as a woman, a cross-dresser. She was a woman in a male body. She’d always felt this way.

Then, support from the Lambda Community Center of Fort Collins directed her towards help, and towards people she could relate to, who could understand her struggle.

This is when she made her decision to transition.

“I began to reflect and realize that I’d been living a lie for over 30 years,” she says. “I didn’t want to see the whiskers, I didn’t want to see him. I wanted to see me.”

She laments on her nail-biting habits. Since beginning to transition, including going through hormone therapy, her nails are perfect, manicured, un-bitten.

She’s been on hormones for almost four years.

It made her emotional, moody. The hormone therapy also gave her a feeling of walking on clouds. Her fat distribution changed, her receding hairline was reduced, her skin softened. Her physical body began to more closely match her gender, her mind, her true identity.

“I can be me. I’ve always been this way. I don’t have to cover it up,” says Horn. “Ultimately, it’s freedom to express myself as myself, and to show all the beauty that’s inside of me. I don’t have to keep any of it locked away, hidden, or closeted. I don’t have to do that anymore.”

Horn reflects on the case of Josie, the seven year-old transgender male-to-female child, whose story hit headlines in 2007.

The structures and institutions in which transgender children and youth move through do not know how to accommodate for them and leaves many obstacles to be overcome, as is the case with Josie and her parents’ decision to have her homeschooled.

However, Horn says that she feels that there is hope for the younger generation because they are more open to gender fluidity. She notices that her two daughters and their friends are a lot more open to exploring their gender identity and are not stuck inside of society’s assigned gender roles.

“It’s kind of like a butterfly being in a cocoon and then coming out,” she says.

Part 1 Part 2 Part 3 Part 4
