As a prominent member of the Episcopal Church, George converted to Catholicism at age eighty and is a daily communicant.

There are important lessons to be learned from the behavior of trees. Along the beach road most limbs are now leafless — leaves, nuts and flowers blown off by tempestuous winds. Immediately after the hurricane the trees look as if it were mid-winter. Now green sprouts appear — a second springtime! Think of the trees, too, during the hurricane — how they bend with each gust, complying mostly but not breaking. Two lessons for us: Be resilient, bend with the wind, and then after the storm begin a new life.

Los problemas de pasarse a Full Frame

Hace tiempo estuvimos hablando de los dos tamaños de sensor en las cámaras réflex digitales (al menos en lo que a Nikon se refiere, aunque esta distinción también se da en Canon o en Sony por ejemplo). En general, los modelos tope de gama de estas marcas son los que van equipados con sensores de tamaño completo (también denominados Full Frame o directamente FF) que tienen las mismas dimensiones que un negativo fotográfico de 35mm, mientras que las inferiores llevan sensores de tipo APS-C que poseen unas medidas más reducidas como podéis apreciar en la siguiente imagen.

Pues bien, ya sabemos que el mundo de la electrónica de consumo siempre va de arriba a abajo, y poco a poco los modelos de cámaras equipadas con sensores de tamaño completo se van extendiendo por las gamas de los fabricantes. En el caso de Nikon, ya no sólo las D3, D3s y D3x van equipadas con estos sensores, sino que la D700 también lo lleva, siendo bastante más barata (aunque lo mejor sería decir “menos cara”) que sus hermanas mayores.

Algo más que una simple diferencia de precio

Como os digo, si vemos el catálogo completo de Nikon vamos a ver que la diferencia de precio entre una D300s (el tope de gama actual en sensor DX) y una D700 (que en esencia es una D300 con sensor FX) no es demasiado elevada; o al menos es lo suficientemente reducida como para hacernos dudar si no merecerá la pena dar directamente el salto a Full Frame. En concreto, la primera sale por unos 1300 euros y la segunda por aproximadamente 2000. Y aunque esos setecientos euros son una pasta se miren por donde se miren, hay muchos usuarios que aplican lo de “caballo grande ande o no ande” y acaban optando por la D700 sin saber muy bien qué es lo que buscan en una cámara.

Los sensores Full Frame tienen mayor rango dinámico, mejoran la relación señal / ruido a sensibilidades elevadas, tienen una definición muy buena, los angulares mantienen intacta su distancia focal… pero también llevan aparejadas una serie de desventajas en las que algunas personas no pensaron cuando se deshicieron de su cámara APS-C para pasarse al sensor FF.

Estamos de acuerdo en que la diferencia de precio entre una cámara APS-C tope de gama y una FF tal vez no sea demasiado elevada; pero el verdadero gasto vendrá a la hora de “calzar” dicha cámara con las ópticas adecuadas: en términos generales las ópticas para FF son mucho más caras que en APS-C, pesan y abultan mucho más y, lo que es peor, nos va a dar la sensación de que no nos acercan lo suficiente al motivo a fotografiar.

El factor de recorte

Técnicamente, al no haber factor de recorte, un objetivo de 200mm en una cámara Full Frame es un 200mm, no hay más. En APS-C ese 200mm cerraría su ángulo de visión para dar el equivalente a un 300mm en Nikon (1,5x) o 320mm en Canon (1,6x); algo que adoran los amantes de los animales salvajes y las competiciones deportivas. Sin embargo, en FF para “acercarnos” al sujeto como en nuestra anterior cámara APS-C tendremos que comprar un 300mm “de verdad” con las consecuencias que esto implica para el bolsillo y la espalda.

Vamos a ver esto empleando como ejemplo dos teleobjetivos fijos con características técnicas similares (AF-S, VR y f/2.8) montados sobre cámaras Nikon:

Teleobjetivo Nikkor 300 mm f/2.8 ED-IF AF-S VR

Dimensiones: 268 x 124 mm
Peso: 2850 gr
Precio aproximado: 5000 euros

Teleobjetivo Nikkor 400 mm f/2.8 G ED AF-S VR

Dimensiones: 368 x 159 mm
Peso: 4620 gr
Precio aproximado: 8000 euros

Como podéis ver, el teleobjetivo de 400mm pesa y cuesta prácticamente el doble que el de 300mm y además es 10 cm más largo. Y la cosa es que en términos de ángulo de visión, el 300mm montado sobre una cámara DX equivaldrá a un 450mm, por lo que ni siquiera con el 400mm montado en nuestra cámara FX podremos acercarnos tanto al motivo a fotografiar. Esto va a dar lugar al síndrome “no estoy lo bastante cerca” que ha afectado a numerosos usuarios que han dado el salto a Full Frame y se han encontrado con un 200mm se queda corto para fotografiar ese gorrión que saldrá volando si damos un paso más.

Además, hay otro “problema” añadido: la gente que pretende encontrar un objetivo todoterreno para FF como los 18-200 que hay en formato APS-C con los que se puede ir a pasar el día con la cámara a cuestas sin mayor problema lo llevan claro. Para conseguir esas distancias focales en FF apenas hay opciones; y de hecho casi lo único que hay en ese sentido es el Canon EF 28-300mm f/3.5-5.6L IS USM que cuesta 2500 euros, pesa 1,7 Kg y es un mostrenco que abulta como un 70-200 f/2.8. Vamos, ideal para ir de excursión a la montaña con la cámara colgada del cuello.

Los objetivos de focal variable para cámaras con sensor de 35mm rara vez alcanzan relaciones de zoom más allá de 3x o como mucho 4x. Ópticas como 14-24 (1,7x), 35-70 (2x), 24-85 (3,5x) ó 70-300 (4,3x) son lo habitual; mientras que en DX es muy común encontrar en el mercado zooms de rango focal 18-135 (7,5x), 18-200 (11,1x) e incluso un 18-270 (15x) fabricado por Tamron.

Conclusión

No hay duda de que una cámara Full Frame da una calidad de imagen impresionante, pero eso no quiere decir que las cámaras con sensor APS-C no tengan su público. De hecho, en el caso de que os gusten las fotografías de naturaleza así como retratar eventos en los que no nos queda más remedio que estar alejados del sujeto principal (partidos de tenis, mítines políticos, aviones despegando…) tenéis en el factor de recorte a un buen aliado, ya que para conseguir distancias focales semejantes en una cámara Full Frame vais a necesitar dos cosas: ser millonarios y estar bastante fuertes.

Evidentemente no seré yo el que os desaconseje la compra de una cámara FF “porque sí”, ya que son una verdadera maravilla visual y allá cada uno lo que haga con su dinero; pero sí que os diré que meditéis muy bien si realmente le vais a poder sacar todo el partido posible. Tened en cuenta que en el mundillo de las cámaras réflex son las ópticas y no la cámara las que marcan el límite entre las fotografías que podréis o no podréis hacer; y en Full Frame el dinero que hay que pagar por elevar ese límite aumenta considerablemente.

Op Ed: Rio 2016 Olympics Certain Seven Years Ago

This week’s election of a host city for the 2015 Pan American Games brings back memories of the contest for the 2007 Pan Ams in which Rio de Janeiro beat the bid from San Antonio, Texas. Plenty of lessons that the U.S. didn’t learn from that defeat that might have helped Chicago –such as don’t pick basketball Olympian David Robinson for your team.

The vote by the Pan American Sports Organization General Assembly August 24, 2002 it turns out, clearly foreshadowed the Rio de Janeiro victory for the 2016 Olympics and as well reasons for Chicago’s demise.

We’ve written frequently about the continuity of leadership that helped propel the Rio Olympic forward and the disconnects that have plagued the U.S. For Rio, the story goes back to 2002 with the 2007 Pan Ams bid.

The bid was led by Carlos Nuzman, IOC member, president of the Brazilian Olympic Committee – and one and the same leader for the Rio Olympic bid seven years later. At his side, Carlos Roberto Osorio, Nuzman’s deputy for the 2007 Pan Am bid who reprised the role for the 2016 Olympics bid.

The dynamic duo were not alone – other staff from Rio and the Brazilian Olympic Committee also made the seven year journey from Pan Am bid to Olympics bid, a consistency no other bid in the 2016 race could match.

The Brazilians dealt with a setback in 2004 when the IOC rejected a Rio bid for 2012 in the early going. The IOC made it clear that Rio lacked the experience of a Pan American Games.

That was cured in July 2007, with IOC President Jacques Rogge and dozens of other IOC members on hand to witness one of the better Pan Am Games in the 50 years of the event. The timing could not have been more perfect for the Brazilians. The deadline to apply to the IOC for the 2016 Olympics came just days after the close of the 2007 Pan Ams.

Now flip back the pages in the history book to the chapter for the U.S. Olympic Committee, circa 2002.

Wracked that year by a series of leadership crises, this was the nadir of an era in which the USOC truly earned its reputation as dysfunctional.

The USOC President who addressed the PASO Assembly in Mexico City on behalf of the San Antonio bid was Marty Mankamyer. A real estate agent who served on the USOC board and was elected president just weeks before the Pan Am vote, she had no international experience.

Mankamyer was called to fill the breach when Sandy Baldwin resigned as USOC president, brought down by falsified academic credentials on her resume. When Baldwin left the USOC, she was forced to resign a seat on the IOC to which she had been elected just months before in her capacity as USOC President. It’s a seat the U.S. has never reclaimed.

Besides a revolving door for USOC Presidents, the USOC was also dealing with CEO changes. In 2002 Lloyd Ward held the job, the second corporate hot shot in a row hired for the post without a background in the world of the Olympics – or sport, for that matter. Ward’s style and inability to connect with the national governing bodies or other stakeholders in the U.S. Olympic Movement doomed his tenure before he resigned under pressure from the U.S. Congress in early 2003.

That was the year reforms for the USOC were put into place, the rules that govern the USOC today, meant to cure governance problems.

As the USOC now searches for its seventh CEO of the decade, one wonders whether much has changed at the USOC.

The naming of Peter Ueberroth as chair of the reformed USOC in 2004 seemed to provide a lift internationally. But a year later, the U.S. lost the New York bid for the 2012 Olympics. While the New York bid suffered a blow when government leaders killed plans for an Olympic Stadium, relations between the bid and the Ueberroth led USOC were often acrimonious.

Still, under Ueberroth the USOC seemed to settle down. A new international relations staff seemed to revitalize the outreach of the USOC.

But then – almost predictably — the revolving door at the USOC started spinning again last year, badly-timed with the last phase of the Chicago bid for the 2016 Olympics. The continuity represented by Ueberroth vanished as he left as chair. His successor, Larry Probst, from the corporate world, came without any Olympics background.

In March, with six months to go before the IOC 2016 vote, the Probst-led USOC Board of Directors dumped CEO Jim Scherr and elevated Stephanie Streeter to the post, for reasons never made clear. It was a maladroit move that only the USOC could deliver. Streeter, like Probst, an unknown to the Olympics with a corporate background, replaced Scherr, an Olympian, who had done much in his five years to convince Olympic Movement stakeholders that some stability had returned to the USOC.

While trumpeting the change as best for the USOC, for the Chicago bid it maybe was the worst that could happen. Once again the USOC had found a way to unplug itself from the Olympic Movement at exactly the time it needed to lend its credibility to a valiant bid from a U.S. city. In 2002 the disconnect may have cost San Antonio; in 2009 the victim was Chicago.

This week Probst and Streeter head to Guadalajara to attend their first Pan Am General Assembly. While it’s a bit late for Chicago, Probst appears to realize that the future of the next U.S. bid is at stake with what he does today – and it may be as many as 25 years before that bid happens. And maybe after observing the spoils of the Pan American Games enjoyed by Rio, USOC leaders might think more highly of a Pan Am bid, instead of dismissing the event.

As someone who is said to be knowledgeable about the qualities of fine wine, Probst must certainly understand the toils that must take place in the vineyard years before a vintage is ready for the bottle.

One other lesson for a future U.S. bid to learn from the San Antonio and Chicago campaigns: don’t invite Olympian and NBA star David Robinson. Robinson, it turns out, is the only direct link between the two bids, appearing for both in the final hours of their campaigns.

As dashing as the two-meter+ Robinson looked in a cowboy hat, the then San Antonio Spurs All Star could not help Pan Am bid seven years ago at the PASO general assembly in Mexico City.

Now retired from the NBA, the three-time Olympian was back in the U.S. bid business last month in Copenhagen as a member of the athlete delegation supporting the Chicago bid. Working the lobby of the IOC hotel, Robinson and his sizable charm was still not enough to put a win in the U.S. column.

En el marco de las 2ª Jornadas Micológicas de Castellón, programadas para este fin de semana, ayer viernes día 30 de octubre fuimos invitados a una salida al monte de los alrededores del Pico de Penyagolosa para comprobar sobre el propio terreno de forma práctica las distintas clases de setas que crecen en el paraje.

En un espléndido día soleado, casi impropio de esta época anual, a la llegada el Santuario de Sant Joan de Penyagolosa nos repartimos los asistentes formando varios grupos reducidos que, acertadamente guiados por un entendido maestro, íbamos observando y diferenciando las setas que encontrábamos nuestro paso y recolectando las comestibles. A mi me tocó por suerte estar incluido en el Equipo “R” que con un lazo rojo de robellón, fuimos acompañados por la Srta. Dª. María Antonia Agut Monferrer de Adzaneta del Maestrazgo, la mejor profesora que cualquier alumno pueda imaginar tener para aprender en la vida y que con sus amplísimos conocimientos, iba explicando las cualidades de cada uno de los ejemplares encontrados a nuestro paso.

De regreso, repusimos fuerzas en el Restaurante Casa Ramón de Adzaneta del Maestrazgo deleitando nuestros paladares con excelentísimos manjares, cual mejor, a base de setas, desde las ensaladas a los postres, para finalizar con una magistral explicación práctica, regalo personal de Dª. María Antonia Agut Monferrer sobre las características de cada tipo de las setas recolectadas.

Para CHA, esta iniciativa ha logrado sensibilizar a la sociedad y es preciso que ahora sea el Congreso el que escuche las reivindicaciones y pare la propuesta del Gobierno de España para modificar la actual Ley de Extranjería.

“La intención de introducir en la Ley de Extranjería aspectos de la llamada “Directiva europea de la Vergüenza” es una barbaridad que no puede ser consentida” – explica José Manuel Latorre, Secretario de Política Social de CHA – “hemos colaborado con la Marcha a su paso por las comarcas de Ribera Baja, área metropolitana de Zaragoza, Valdejalón y Comunidad de Calatayud y queremos mandar también nuestro respaldo a los compañeros ahora que están en Madrid para que sus reivindicaciones sean escuchadas en el Congreso”.

Wine Harvest Weekend - Paso Robles, CA Oct 16-18

Last weekend I had the opportunity to go to Paso Robles,CA for Wine Harvest weekend. Although I had been to Napa and Sanoma wine tasting in the past, I had yet made it to central coast. We left on Friday afternoon with the hopes of beating some of the traffic out of L.A. The entire drive I bugged Steve to research wineries on the way because I wanted to wine taste right away and couldn’t wait until tomorrow to start the adventure. We made a stop in Solvang, CA which is the cutest little danish town and like nothing I had ever seen. It looked like a town Disney would create in Epcot center. We didn’t have much time before tasting rooms closed so we hurried and made it into Presidio just in time. This was such a cute place. They had a lot of knickknacks for sale, but I was focused on one thing. Tasting the wine. It was $5 for 5 tastings which is pretty standard throughout the county. Because it has been a week since I have been here, I don’t remember too much. The staff was extremely knowledgeable and helpful and they even gave us some Paso Robles suggestions.

I ended up buying a bottle of Syrah for about $25. I will definitely write more about the bottle once I get around to opening it. I brought home 13 bottles from the weekend so it may take a while. Instead of going through my entire trip, I will let the wine tell the story. Since I purchased wine at about every winery, I will walk you through the tastings and the wine when I open each bottle – so look forward to that ( I am).

From Presidio, we headed back on the road and made our second stop at Jockos Steakhouse. This place came highly recommended and although I didn’t know what to expect, I definitely wasn’t expecting what I got. When I walked into this very local towny bar/restaurant, I knew I wasn’t in LA anymore. We sat at the bar for a few minutes and heard the rantings and suggestions of a local towny who was very familiar with wine county. We made it to our seats and were immediately served with a cup of salsa, crackers and eventually a pickle plate. Weird … right? However weird, it was good. I ordered the Spencer (i recommend) which came perfectly medium and with a baked potato and some of the best garlic bread. Steve and I were both way too stuffed to receive the complimentary dessert. This was a very surprisingly quality meal especially for the very low price of about $23 a person.

I then had to work through my ridiculous food coma and drive the rest of the way to Paso Robles where we would begin celebrating Harvest Wine Weekend. We stayed at the Adelaide inn which I will admit was the only recommended hotel that still had openings and wasn’t over $200 a night. We were pleasantly surprised with the impeccably clean and modern interior of the rooms considering the opening lobby was a bit similar to the “bates motel”. The motel was also in a great location right by a lot of restaurants and Margie’s Diner which had a great breakfast and incredibly large portions. I would definitely stay here again.

We started our journey of wine tasting at about 11:00 on Saturday. We made it to 5 wineries in Paso on Saturday, ate dinner downtown and then went to two more wineries on Sunday morning on our way out. To cap off the trip we stopped into two wineries in San Luis Obispo before we headed back to L.A. Again, I will go into greater detail about the experience as I open and enjoy each bottle. The weekend was amazing and although we were a little worried that the Harvest Wine Weekend would bring in enormous crowds and deter from a good tasting experience – that was not the case. Every winery had unique offerings, special pours and food to compliment the wine. I loved every second of it and I can’t wait to go back.

Un bebé resultó ileso después de que un tren le pasó por encima

El niño de seis meses cayó en la vía junto al coche por un descuido de su madre cuando esperaba en una estación del metro de Melbourne, informó el viernes la prensa australiana.

El incidente, ocurrido el jueves, fue grabado por una de las cámaras de la estación. Las imágenes muestran cómo la madre se sienta en una silla a esperar el tren y percibe demasiado tarde que el coche empezó a rodar.

La madre se levanta velozmente para frenar el coche-cuna, pero éste cae al borde de la vía pocos segundos antes de que el tren entra en la estación.

El bebe sufrió una contusión leve en la cabeza, y el coche terminó a 30 de metros de distancia del lugar en el que cayó.

Tutorial HDR

Buenos/as días, tardes, noches, madrugas o mañanas de resaca

A lo que vamos, hace un tiempo ya (tampoco mucho xD) dije que iba a hacer un tutorial del efecto o la técnica de fotografía conocida como HDR, y aquí está.

Gracias a esta técnica se pueden conseguir tomas como estas:

Si nos ponemos a pensar, nos damos cuenta de que con una sola toma es imposible poder captar tantos tonos, tantas luces y sombras…y ahí es donde entra el HDR. El HDR se define como un alto rango dinámico. La técnica consiste en usar dos o más fotografías de la cual formar una sola. Así podremos coger los tonos que queramos de una zona de una imagen u otra, y combinarlos. EMPEZAMOS!

El programa que voy a utilizar para el tutorial (y que uso frecuentemente para mis trabajos) es el Photomatix Pro, uno de los mejores que hay para realizar estas fotografías. Pero antes de meternos con el hay que tener las imágenes, ¿si o no? Existen dos posibilidades principales para montar un HDR:

Realizar al menos dos imágenes con diferente exposición. Esto se puede lograr de forma automática (en algunas cámaras) o de forma manual realizando una toma, cambiando el valor de exposición, realizando otra toma…etc (si no sabes como hacer esto mira el manual de tu cámara). Es recomendable si se hace a través de este método usar un trípode para que no se mueva la toma, ya que complica el proceso posterior de creación del HDR (aunque tampoco es fundamental, yo nunca uso trípode y solo que hay que ser un poco cuidadoso de no mover la cámara si cambias manualmente)
El otro método es capturando una sola toma en formato RAW, de la que posteriormente sacaremos diferentes fotos con diferentes exposiciones. Voy a explicar el tutorial haciéndolo de esta forma, pues tiene más pasos, y el primer método está abarcado también. Por eso, si quieres hacerlo con varias tomas puedes saltarte varias de las primeras partes del tutorial.

Partiendo del archivo en RAW (que tiene una extensión CR2), tendremos que usar un software que nos permita modificar los valores de la imagen y así obtener las ya famosas varias tomas con diferentes exposiciones. Yo uso Digital Photo Professional, que me venía con la cámara y cumple las funciones que necesito a la perfección.

Una vez ahí (si usáis este programa, que hay varios…) abrimos la imagen, y modificamos los parámetros que veréis en la imagen inferior, y guardaremos tomas con diferentes valores de exposición. Así tendremos de una foto varias. ¿Cuantas? Depende de la toma original, hay que saber valorar cuantos cambios de tonalidades se pueden llegar a tener (cielo azul, nubes, montaña, rio y césped en primer plano, por ejemplo, así tendríamos 5)

Yo para esta toma voy a usar 5, me parecen suficientes para mostrar todo en detalle. Aquí es donde empezamos con el Photomatix. Como vais a ver la foto usada hasta ahora como fichero no va a corresponder con las que veáis abajo, hice un cambio pues se apreciaba mejor el proceso con otra foto. Abrimos el Photomatix y clicamos en el botón que aparece en la captura con el cursor:

Ahí seleccionamos las imágenes que queremos usar para el HDR, tal como aquí:

Como veis lo siguiente es pura lógica, darle a Ok jaja. En la ventana que os saldrá tenéis varias opciones. En la primera pone "Alinear imágenes”, donde podremos seleccionar entre dos opciones. Para los que han obtenido de una imagen en formato RAW, seleccionar “By correcting horizontal and sertical shifts” (Dejar la casilla “Don’t crop” desmarcada); así simplemente pondrá las imágenes alienando los bordes, nada más. Para aquellos que han hecho varias tomas por separado marcar la otra opción, que lo que hará será alinear los objetos de la foto.

En la segunda opción solo la deben marcar si se crea la HDR a partir de varias imágenes que se tomaron por separado. Esto intentará reducir los efectos fantasmas, por así decirlo, y es que aparezcan varias veces lo mismo en el HDR definitivo, pues puede haber una persona pasando por una calle (por ejemplo) en la que estamos capturando imágenes, y si hacemos 3 fotos aparecería tres veces, de esta forma no ocurrirá. Luego elegimos si lo que aparece moviéndose son cosas en primer plano (como personas), o en segundo plano (como pueden ser hojas, u olas en el agua).

Y la tercera opción no la toquéis.

Pulsamos Ok, como no . En la siguiente pantalla tendremos que pulsar Tone mapping para poder ver como quedaría la toma, y el panel de opciones donde modificaremos datos.

En este panel solo queda que probéis cada opción y modifiquéis los parámetros dejando la imagen a vuestro gusto. No voy a explicar cada opción porque es mejor que las vayáis descubriendo. Una vez la tengáis darle a Process y ya tendréis vuestra imagen HDR.

Vais a File y le dais a guardar la imagen.

Espero que os sea útil, no me haya liado mucho explicándolo y que no os queden muchas dudas. Si fuera así preguntándomelo.

Telefónica duplica la velocidad ADSL, ¡ya era hora!

Telefónica duplica la velocidad ADSL sin coste adicional según cuenta hoy El Economista, y que llegará para antes de fin de año, doblando así la velocidad de conexión de todos sus clientes de ADSL y manteniendo el precio actual de cuota.

La verdad es que si la maniobra resulta ser cierta, Telefónica estaría dando un buen paso, ya que la continua perdida de clientes que está sufriendo a mano de operadores alternativos, viene principalmente dada por las ofertas de alta velocidad y precios reducidos que éstos ofrecen.

Una cosa que no acaba de convencerme, es que no se detalla en qué consiste esta duplicación, ya que la última vez que Telefónica hizo un anuncio así, sólo se limitó a doblar la velocidad teórica de bajada, y además mantuvo los 320 Kbps durante 4 años.

Para poder duplicar los 6 megas de bajada que ofrece actualmente,Telefónica tendría que hacer uso de la tecnología VDSL2, pero eso supondría un coste bastante alto en la sustitución de router de sus clientes, ya que casi ningún router actual de los que distribuye, soporta dicha tecnología.

Por otro lado, el diario económico anuncia que Telefónica quiere lanzar al mercado antes de navidades, un paquete que oferta ADSL 50 megas de bajada, aunque creo que dicha oferta no estará disponible para todos por motivos de disponibilidad geográfica.

Campusz Fesztivál.

2009 július 22-26ig adott otthont a debreceni Nagyerdő a Campusz fesztiválnak. Valószínűleg azért érintem a témát mert én is ott voltam… Nehéz lenne megfogalmazni milyennek is láttam számomra nem volt meg az igazi fesztivál hangulat mivel hajnalban haza tudtam menni saját ágyamban aludtam értelmes kaját ettem, meleg vízben fürödtem és teljesen minden fajta komfort megvolt az életembe. Nah hát nézzük napok szerint mit és hogyan…

Az elsőnap:
A koncertek sora aznap számomra egyik ismerősömék koncertjével indult…utána megjelentem természetesen Subscribe-on ahol iszonyatosan jó volt a pogó (fesztivál utan csodálkoztam is hogy mért fáj mindenem meg mért vok tele kék zöld foltokkal), ez után elmentünk valamerre már nem igazán emlékszem rég volt, nah mind1 volt még aznap ladánybene 27 ami eléggé lazulós party zene. Ezek közben természetesen tetemes mennyiségű sört megittunk egyik kedves barátommal és más fajta alkohol is legurult a torkunkon úgy hogy az éjfélkor kezdődő Dévényi Tibi bácsin ismerösök tömegével összefutva együtt tomboltunk a retro zenére… haza út érdekes volt át estem egy padon, meg ilyenek… de mindent összevetve elég jó volt az elsö nap is…

Második nap – Péntek:
Ezen a napon egyik kedves hölgy nemű ismerősömmel tettem látogatást a fesztiválra, nah hát ez mókás volt folytattuk a tegnapit ittunk persze egy keveset és és és ITT SZERETTEM meg az Irrie Maffiát akkor jó bulit csináltak… utána nem tudom mi volt de drágalátos ismerősöm kicsit túl kapta a piától:D így hát ásványvíz kajált … nah mind1 elkerültem Depresszió koncertre ahol valamelyik okos rocker olyat rúgott rám acélbetkóssal hogy azt hittem össze esek, a következö koncert a Brains volt amelynek egész jó zenéje van mindent összevetve…itt a hazaúton semmi nem történt mert kocsival mentünk haza, jah de annyi ahogy beszálltunk mert értünk jöttek nem mentünk 1 utcányit máris igazoltattak minket a rend bátor őrei…

Harmadik nap szombat:
Nah erről a napról azt kell tudni hogy ezt vártam a Campusz fesztiválon a legjobban… Skafunderz (ami számomra egy rossz ómen sose tudom utána mi is történik) Kaukázus (linkelek is egy vagy több számot majd a post végén) PASO , Tankcsapda és Mystery Gang… két barátommal indultunk el nah már most ez azért volt mókás mert az odafele út se zajlott zökenő mentessen nem akartak minket felengedni a villamosra mondván a villamos vezető hogy részegek vagyunk és hogy nyitva van a sörünk , nah mind1 az a lényeg megérkeztünk ott voltunk jól éreztük magunkat a villamos vezetőnek meg ez legyen a legnagyobb öröme az életben kívánom innen neki. háhá

A Kaukázus megint kitett magáért mivel pont akkor kezdett el szakadni az eső így a sátorban mozdulni se lehetett áhh nagyon jó volt . Bár pár zenekedvelő idősebb egyén kicsit furán nézett rám mikor az alkoholtól megveszve… a dalszöveget a torkom szakadtából ahogy bírtam az együttessel énekeltem.

Mindent összevetve nem is volt ez annyira rossz. Az egyetlen problémám vele hogy csak olyan együttesek voltak szinte (amiket szeretik is) hogy az év folyamán akár többször is fellépnek a városban. Mi sem bizonyítja jobban … hogy Szeptember 11ikén Skafunderz koncerten voltam. Előtte egy hétfői napon pedig Mystery Gangen… nah mind1 a nyárnak egy nem is rossz része volt.

The Paso Robles (CA) wine region is known for its red wines – especially red blends. Although it’s not online (at least not yet), the October ’09 Wine Enthusiast issue has an excellent article about this region, its wines, and some ratings.

With 150+ wineries in the area, I did my share of online research to develop a trip strategy – plus I had suggestions from Caitlin Pianetta (Pianetta Winery, who we met in Cincinnati earlier this year), and from the Adelaide Inn staff (where we stayed) – so we had plenty to keep us busy during a 3-day stay. Unfortunately, I discovered the Daily Wine Dispatch after returning home.

Since Paso wineries specialize in red wines, expect to see many more reds than whites. Most wineries will have viognier, chardonnay, muscat, or white blends. Paso whites are generally unoaked andrefreshing with possibly a note of crispness, thus easy to drink.

Paso reds are allover the map with zinfandel, cabernet sauvignon, syrah, and petite syrah leading the way – although cabernet franc, tempranillo, sangiovese, petite verdot, and others are abound. Given the number of red varietals grown in this area, no wonder Paso winemakers excel with blends, including Meritage, Rhone, and Bordeaux styles.

As with any wine region, tasters will encounter wineries they may not know plus wines from known wineries that are only sold at the winery – thus one reason to do your pre-trip homework and be aware of what is available in your home stores.

El congosto del Ventamillo dona accés a la Vall de Benasque. Ja només per això és digne de figurar en un bloc on s’aconsellen sortides en família. Però, a més, el congost en si, val una detinguda visita. Aprofiteu per pujar de Lleida, cap a Graus i d’aquesta bellíssima població aragonesa cap a Castejon de Sos i Benasque. Feu-ho pel Ventamillo abans que una legió de camions obrin una nova carretera i la ruta perdi tot el seu encant. Encara podreu disfrutar d’una natura en estat decimonònic. D’una carretera estreta que s’adapta a les formes de la muntanya i que no permet presses. Corbes tancades, sense visibilitat. Llocs on amb feines i treballs passen dos cotxes. Llocs on la penya es tanca damunt vostre. Una ruta que ressegueix el riu Èssera, límpid, cristal·lí. Amb racons d’una bellessa quasi lírica, on l’aigua demana a crits que pareu el vehicle i baixeu a donar-vos un bon bany. D’aquí a molt poc temps, sense cap mena de dubte, volaran la roca per obrir una sèrie de túnels i el Congost del Ventamillo quedarà quiet i oblidat. Millor per les aus i els animalons. Millor pels conductors que podran còrrer més i amb més seguretat. Però els veritables viatgers, que ja hem perdut els Collegats i el Terradets, anyorarem per sempre els revolts i els punts de vista inigualables. Anyorarem el conduir lent i pausat disfrutant de les verticals parets, recobertes de vegetació, que no deixen passar la llum del sol. Anyorarem les raconades idíliques i fresques on parar el motor i posar els peus i la panxa, si cal, en remull. I els jocs dels infants que tiren pedres al riu i diuen, ohhh!!!, a cada nova sorpresa que la natura ens depara. Aneu-hi ara que encara hi sou a temps. I el premi, a més del congosto, serà la Vall de Benasque, al final d’aquesta muralla imponent, al darrera d’aquesta porta sublim. Benasque, el Pirineu en estat pur, els cims altius i les valls verdes. Allotgeu-vos a La Solana, a Benasque mateix. Familiar, bonic i bé de preu. S’hi menja de fábula. O a Casa Ciria, un luxe, o al final del Vall, a los Llanos del Hospital, natura salvatge, un racó càlid de món.

El desfiladero del Ventamillo da acceso a la Val de Benasque. Ya sólo por eso es digno de figurar en un bloque donde se aconsejan salidas en familia. Pero, además, el desfiladero en sí, merece una detenida visita. Aproveche para subir de Lérida, hacia Graus y de esta bellísima población aragonesa hacia Castejon de Sos y Benasque. Hágalo por Ventamillo antes que una legión de camiones abran una nueva carretera y la ruta pierda todo su encanto. Todavía podrá disfrutar de una naturaleza en estado decimonónico. Por una carretera estrecha que se adapta a las formas de la montaña y que no permite prisas. Curvas cerradas, sin visibilidad. Lugares donde con penas y trabajos pasan dos coches. Lugares donde la peña se cierra sobre si. Una ruta que recorre el río Ésera, límpido, cristalino. Con rincones de una belleza casi lírica, donde el agua pide a gritos que se pare el vehículo y bajarse a darse un buen baño. Dentro de muy poco tiempo, sin duda, volarán la roca para abrir una serie de túneles y el Congosto del Ventamillo quedará quieto y olvidado. Mejor para las aves y los animalitos. Mejor para los conductores que podrán correr más y con más seguridad. Pero los verdaderos viajeros, los que ya hemos perdido Collegats y Terradets, hecharemos a faltar para siempre las curvas y los puntos de vista inigualables. El conducir lento y pausado disfrutando de las verticales paredes, recubiertas de vegetación, que no dejan pasar la luz del sol. Los rincones idílicos y frescos donde parar el motor y poner los pies y la barriga, si es necesario, en remojo. Y los juegos de los niños que tiran piedras al río y dicen, ohhh!, a cada nueva sorpresa que la naturaleza nos depara. Id ahora que todavía estais a tiempo. Y el premio, además del desfiladero, será la Val de Benasque, al final de esta muralla imponente, detrás de esta puerta sublime. Benasque, el Pirineo en estado puro, las cimas y los valles verdes. Alojaros en Benasque en La Solana, donde también comeréis muy bien, o en Casa Ciria. O al final del valle, en los Llanos del Hospital.
