As we say nowadays “OMG OMG PLZ! PLZZZZZ!!!!!”

We’ve seen LucasArts dig into its classic franchises lately with The Secret of Monkey Island: Special Edition remake and Telltale Games’ Tales of Monkey Island expanding on the series universe. Even before that you have the two new seasons of Sam & Max episodic games.

Now add the hints in the Monkey Island remake, namely the semi hidden Purple Tentacle shadow which could indicate (or not) a similar remake of Day of the Tentacle, and it clearly looks like LucasArts is into a revival period. Day of the Tentacle would be amazing news of course but what really gets me super excited is the possibility of an X-Wing series remake!

G4’s Patrick Klepek interviewed Darrel Rodriguez, President of LucasArts, and asked him about the possibility of an X-Wing game coming in the future. The great response he got was “We don’t have any announcements now, but stay tuned, we will soon”.

Yay for vague teasing! But I want it! oh I want it so. I’ve actually been looking on eBay to buy the games in the series recently but we all know how fun it is to run DOS games on modern computers and I think a space shooter would highly benefit from updated textures, in a sense much more than an adventure game which is much slower paced and doesn’t feature as much animation.

In any case be sure I’ll keep you posted!

Henry Hatsworth In The Puzzling Adventure keeps getting more and more love. This time by MTV Multiplayer where previewer Patrick Klepek gushes:

…it’s one of the most creative uses of the DS hardware that I’ve seen. … May Be My Most Anticipated DS Game Ever… I want more nooooooow. …

Yowzas! We also now understand how the puzzles on the bootm screen are related to the traditional platforming on top.

Essentially, when you defeat an enemy up top, it becomes part of the puzzle below. You must clear them off the grid before they reach the top again, or else they re-enter the platforming section.

Yikes!
