Inca ma mai opresc vecini pe strada sa ma salute si sa ma intrebe de sanatate.

Aveam chioscul pe strada pe care locuiam si clientii mei erau toti vecinii din cartier. Aveam si 3 angajati pe care ii plateam bine, pe care ii respectam ca si cum ar fi fost membrii ai familiei mele. Nu aveam cine stie ce profit dar familia mea si inca 3 familii aveau existenta asigurata.

Asta este povestea mea, domnule Basescu. Dumneavoastra prin hotararile infexibile m-ati condamnat la saracie.

Marion Koogler McNay Art Museum

Marion Koogler McNay Art Museum is an excellent museum and a real gem in San Antonio.  The art collection is outstanding and the grounds are very beautiful. Unlike a lot of other museums it is a perfect size – I got through the collection in about an hour and a half and the whole grounds in two. This museum is known as the first modern art museum in Texas.  Founded by Marion K. McNay, an heiress, collector, artist, and patron in so many ways, I not only love the museum itself but also the story of its founder. San Antonio is second largest city in the united states of Texas and most popular for its sightseeing, attractions, destinations, nightlife, and accommodation listing like cheap hotels. There is a lot to do in this city include fine art museums, historical missions and plenty of amusement parks in addition to great dining, drinking and hotels in san antonio.

In the not too distant past, I would complain about how little time that I had. There were seemingly constant demands on my time and while I got to do fun and interesting things once or twice a week, I still complained about there not being more to it. One day it finally occurred to me that this is what life is all about – and it’s good! I resolved that I would quit hiding away because frankly… life is in the living of it! Since I had that “epiphany of sorts” I have been really excited about my life, family, friends and each day.

I got caught into the trap of thinking that “it’s gotta be better than this.” and I think lots of us get that idea without any real basis of why we even think that way. It sometimes (“sometimes” is an understatement probably) seems that we are looking for something that will amplify or hype up our lives in some way – not realizing that what we are living more times than not is pretty good. It is in fact, life. The general population’s approach to life reminds me of the scripture above. I won’t really get into the conversation of “drinking” but it does bring up an interesting  point in my mind particularly regarding people who drink and why – even casually. Stay with me and I’ll loop it all together.

I would go out on a limb and say that there are very few people who actually drink because they enjoy the taste of alcohol. There may be some wines or other drinks that can arguably be considered tasty, but I would venture to say that the taste doesn’t necessarily make people want to reach for it like it’s a glass of Kool-Aid. Lots of times for the flavored drinks, they would taste better without the alcohol. So in my mind drinking is really a means to an end. It’s chasing a feeling. That might be a tough thing to admit for some, but it’s true.

“I need a drink” is not an uncommon mantra for those who’ve had a rough day. Why? Because it’s chasing a feeling that the drink brings of escaping from stress thru little inhibition or relaxation. It’s sometimes “liquid courage” when reaching for more guts to do something feared. People turn to drinks before (and while) going out to party and have a good time because of the euphoric feeling it brings and even the alibi for excuse the next day when doing something out of the ordinary. And perhaps way too common is having to be “tipsy” for sex or to get in the mood. All of these are examples of buying into havng to have the heightened state to enjoy life.

This same concept applies to every area of our lives, beyond alcohol. We are looking for some heightened form of what life should be from everywhere without really understanding what life is supposed to be like. We look for it with drama in relationships because we think if there’s no drama then something must be wrong. We’re always looking for the next best job, when at the moment the one we have is good. Married people checking outside their marriage comparing what someone else told them it should be. It’s like the scripture above – where there is no revelation of life, the option is “turning to wine.” It’s turning to an alternative substance to generate what you’re after.

Because we lack revelation of what life is supposed to deliver to us. We always assume there is something more to it. And maybe there’s nothing more to it except the lie that there’s something more to it. We become “feeling/exhiliration addicts.” Things have to be on “TEN” to feel like we enjoy life. It creates such discontent the more we pursue the “intoxicants” of the world the less fulfillment we get out of life. We never check it to do life God’s way or even enjoy and make the most of every opportunity we have.

Stop “drinking the wine.” Stop believing that just because we have access to the choices of the world’s wine that you have to partake. The world says “There’s something you’re missing that will make it better.” The world is deceiving you to a point of depression when you can’t the fulfillment you seek in the wrong place.

Wine tries to make what God created better but it’s a simulated intoxicated version. We tend to exalt the intoxicated version and try to put it above what God created. And that leads us to living the intoxicated life. We think that our situations are an exception so we have a right to search for an alternative. But here’s news for you, most of the problems in our life exist in the realm of normal. And you’ve fallen for the okie-doke thinking otherwise.

 Embrace Life as it is.  Get High on Life, the one you have. Life is Enjoyed in the Living of It.

I could just tweet this but I thought I would share this here. Yesterday I was down in the stacks pulling books to send out.  Around the perimeter of the main stacks we have a series of small study rooms that students love to use for lots of reasons (although I won’t go into detail here) which we call “the cages,” because some of them have wire covering the area where a window would normally be.  While I was pulling books yesterday, just before lunch, I could hear snoring coming from the cages.  And not just an occasional soft sound, this was a consistent and loud snore.  I didn’t investigate where it was actually coming from but I’m sure that person wasn’t making the students around them happy.  And, it gives a whole new meaning to the phrase ‘user experience.’

Hi, I thought I would put in a quick post letting you know what has been going on with me.  So, let’s see if I can do this without boring you too much. 

It has been really busy this semester.  And when I say really busy, I mean really busy.  Several of us in the library have remarked on the overall activity level this semester.  Since the start of the semester, there has not been any significant lull in the amount of activity.  We typically have a few really busy weeks at the beginning of the semester and then it calms down a bit.  No such luck this semester.  I our primary instruction librarians have had full schedules this semester, I’m not sure they have had any time to even breathe.  It has been flat out in interlibrary loan as well.  I have been keeping track of questions that come through my office, one day two weeks ago I had twenty questions.  Yes, I said twenty, just in my office alone, this was not at the reference desk.  I have yet to calculate the number of interlibrary loan transactions for October but my initial guess is the numbers are going to be high.  If only I had the time to pull the statistics together.  My days are basically filled with processing requests, packing up books, copying and scanning articles, checking in materials, and fielding questions.  When not doing those things I am typically at a meeting of some sort or other.  Overall, there has been little to no time for anything extra.  I leave every evening with piles of stuff that are waiting for me when I come back the next morning.  As for overdue notices from other libraries . . . I’m waiting for them to start sending me hate mail or send over their library brute squad.  I wish I just had the time to tell them I’m not ignoring them.  Hmm, maybe this week . . .

(I’m not even going to start on the contiuing doctor appointments I’ve had.  Can you say “At least one a week?”)

And of course on top of that I am trying to keep up on the literature.  I’m actually glad, even though it has only been a short time so far, for my article review project.  It is one of the few constants in my erratic schedule these days.  Not sure what I will do this week, but I’ve got my eyes peeled.  Stay tuned!

While the name may be misleading, you may have noticed I don’t do a whole lot about whiskey. Its not that I don’t love it. I do! And just to show you how much, I felt it extremely important to attend the Pittsburgh Whiskey and Fine Spirits Festival this past weekend. A whirlwind of whiskey, rum, gin, tequila, even absinthe.

To get a good representation or the multitude of liquors, My Man and I made a goal of trying 20 liquors within the three hour limit. It seems a little crazy, but trust me, we made good use of the dump buckets. Well, I made a good use of the dump buckets. My Man is a trooper, even through the worst of the bunch.

Here we go..

First off, we started with a classic: Jameson.

So, here we are with some of the highest quality liquors, so I go for the Gold. A good first choice! A turpentine smell, tasting of oak, smoke, tangy and smooth. My Man said it tasted of “salt spray,” to which I agreed. I said it had a vegetal aftertaste. He did not agree.

Next we tried the Feckin Irish Whiskey.

Even though the t-shirt was appreciated (hear that, Jameson?), the whiskey did not live up. While smelling of maple syrup and brown sugar, the mouth did not match. Mostly I tasted wheat and bile. Moving on to Tomatin.

The Tomatin Highland scotch whiskey 15 year ripped my mouth apart. Lemon pith and turpentine. Seriously, it hurt.

Rebel Reserve. Who can resist that name? Smoke and brown sugar and the nose and mouth with flowers and herbs. My Man pointed out it tasted like carnations (ain’t he swell?) and I definitely agree. Not bad, not great. Staying loyal to the fun name.

Moving to a new fine spirit. A love of my life, a component to the favorite mixed drink. Tequila. Patron Reposado. Perhaps one of the finest tequilas I’ve had. It tasted of salt and pepper and fresh grass. Very delicious.

A comparison must be had. A friend recommended the El Mayor as one of the best tequilas he’s ever had. In the interest of tequila fairness, we tried the reposado as well. More salt, pepper and some lemon and lime. It was fine, but really… no comparison.

Yes. I’m a sucker for awesome names. Don’t pretend you aren’t! And the pink hair sells it. The Kraken Spiced Rum: Sweet with hints of vanilla and spice. It was pretty alcoholy. When they said its made to mix, they were right. Much better with coke and pretty enjoyable!

So, the next guy from Philadelphia Distilling promised me an interview, so you don’t get his dashing picture yet. He makes three of wonderful liquors, all in Pennsylvania, and I dutifully tried two. The first? Bluecoat gin!

It deserves an exclamation point! Evergreen, tons of juniper, a splash of citrus and extremely smooth. I’m in love.

The Vieux Carre absinthe. Well, seriously. I’ve only tried about 3 or 4. So here are my not so expert opinions. I tasted citrus, liquorish and.. Kraft Mac & Cheese. Who doesn’t love Mac and Cheese? Pretty good, would have actually liked less water added in (here’s how you prepare absinthe).

Back to the Whiskey Festival basics. Macallan 18.

Subtle peat, grapefruit, milk chocolate and caramel. Lovely and what you would expect out of a quality scotch.

Yes…. Its still going. As far as I can tell, we are on track for 20. And, as there are 10 spirits tried here, I write this blog, so I will break for sleep and write up the rest tomorrow.

Viele fragten sich, was mit mir ist und warum ich immer weniger schrieb. Dies sehe ich an der Vielzahl der Nachrichten, die mich erreichten. Bei mir hat sich einiges getan; So zog ich wieder zurück nach Santiago in die Dominikanische Republik und überarbeitete zusammen mit Michaela vom Wunderwaldverlag „EL PATRÓN – Höllische Seilschaften im Paradies“. Mein Fehler war es, das Buch in die Hände einer Lektorin zu legen ohne ihre Arbeit nachzuprüfen. Mein Fehler – ist aber passiert und so kam ein sehr fehlerhaftes Buch auf den Markt. Die 3.Auflage, die nun im Buchhandel steht kann allerdings getrost gekauft werden. Wie schon erwähnt, wohne ich wieder in Santiago de los Caballeros. Immer wieder zog es mich zurück. Durch eine gewisse Fügung und einigen Zufällen sah ich nun den richtigen Zeitpunkt für gekommen, um hier wieder Fuß zu fassen. Die Rahmenbedingungen stimmten und nun bin ich wieder hier. Ich bin hier freiberuflich im Übersetzungs-, Schreib- und Telefonservice für deutsche Unternehmen tätig. Wenn ihr also in dieser Hinsicht meine Hilfe braucht, so schreibt mir einfach!

Los “20 días por año” es un tema algo confuso para los empresarios y para los trabajadores… hay quienes dicen que, cuando despides a un trabajador, se deben pagar y quienes no… este tema es casi casi un mito y hay que desmentirlo.

Hace unos días un cliente (que por cierto, no es Donald Trump) me llamó algo alarmado ya que tenía un problema con un empleado y había decidido despedirlo.  Con su contador, sacó el número que le correspondía pagar como liquidación.  El empresario le informó al empleado que hasta la quincena tendría trabajo.

Resulta que un conocido del trabajador es contador y le dio éste un cálculo de liquidación con un número superior al que había obtenido el empresario de su contador.  En este cálculo se incluían los famosísimos 20 días por año. Pero… que dice la ley?

La Indemnización Constitucional.

El artículo 123, apartado A, fracción XXII, de la Constitución establece que el patrono que despida a un obrero sin causa justificada o por haber ingresado a una asociación o sindicato, o por haber tomado parte en una huelga lícita, estará obligado, a elección del trabajador, a cumplir el contrato o a indemnizarlo con el importe de tres meses de salario. Adicionalmente se establece que la ley determinará los casos en que el patrono podrá ser eximido de la obligación de cumplir el contrato, mediante el pago de una indemnización.

Con lo anterior queda claro que el patrón que despida injustificadamente a un trabajador tendrá la obligación de pagar 3 meses de salario como indemnización.  Esto ya lo sabíamos todos.

La Indemnización Legal.

Por su parte, el artículo 162 de la Ley Federal del Trabajo establece, entre otras cosas, que los trabajadores de planta tienen derecho a una prima de antigüedad que consistirá en el importe de 12 días de salario por cada año de servicios y que para determinar el monto del salario, se estará a lo dispuesto en los artículos 485 y 486.  Por su parte el 486 establece que para determinar las indemnizaciones a que se refiere dicho título de la ley, si el salario que percibe el trabajador excede del doble del salario mínimo del área geográfica de aplicación a que corresponda el lugar de prestación del trabajo, se considerará esa cantidad como salario máximo.  Es decir, el salario para calcular los 12 días por año están topados (punto a favor para el empresario).

Además, el artículo mencionado también establece que la prima de antigüedad se pagará a los trabajadores que se separen voluntariamente siempre que hayan cumplido 15 años de servicios, por lo menos.

Hasta aquí, tenemos que el empresario que despida injustificadamente a un trabajador tiene la obligación de pagar 3 meses de sueldo y 12 días por año (topados).

Ahora Si, los Famosos 20 Día por Año.

La Ley Federal del Trabajo establece, en su artículo 49, entre otras cosas, que el patrón quedará eximido de la obligación de reinstalar al trabajador, mediante el pago de las indemnizaciones que se determinan en el artículo 50 cuando se trate de trabajadores que tengan una antigüedad menor de un año, cuando se compruebe ante la Junta de Conciliación y Arbitraje que el trabajador, por razón del trabajo que desempeña o por las características de sus labores, está en contacto directo y permanente con patrón y la Junta estime que no es posible el desarrollo normal de la relación de trabajo, cuando se trate de trabajadores de confianza, cuando se trate del servicio doméstico y tratándose de trabajadores eventuales.

Por su parte, el artículo 50 establece que las indemnizaciones a que se refiere el artículo 49 consistirán:

a) Si la relación de trabajo fue por tiempo determinado menor de un año, en una cantidad igual al importe de los salarios de la mitad del tiempo de servicios prestados;

b) si la relación de trabajo fue por tiempo determinado pero excediera de un año, en una cantidad igual al importe de los salarios de 6 meses por el primer año y de 20 días por cada uno de los años siguientes en que hubiese prestado sus servicios y;

c) Si la relación de trabajo fue por tiempo indeterminado, la indemnización consistirá en 20 días de salario por cada uno de los años de servicios prestados.

Entonces, se tienen que pagar o no?

Aquí lo más importante a tener en cuenta es que será obligación de pagar las indemnizaciones del artículo 50 SOLAMENTE si el patrón decide no reinstalar al trabajador PERO para que el patrón tenga la obligación de reinstalarlo, el trabajador tiene que haber demandado al patrón y ganado la demanda.

En conclusión, para el patrón no es obligación pagar los 20 días por año cuando se despide injustificadamente ya que el pago de dicha indemnización está sujeta a que el trabajador gane la demanda laboral que intente en contra de su ex – patrón.

El mito es falso.

Laugh For Sight 4

,a waitress, at another restaurant told us that they have good food and she told us that the one thing we had to try was their chicken soup. It’s a Cuban Restaurant, more of a lunch place, all the employees speaking Spanish to each other but perfect English to the customers. Naturally the Chicken soup is the starter, loaded with chunked moist white meat with potatoes, noodles and carrots in a broth like a garbanzo bean soup (however there are no beans in this soup), it was as good as we had been told, simmered long and slow to bring out all the tender goodness. Next up, Dixie got the Ropa Vieja, tender shredded beef, marinated, seasoned, and slow cooked, this is even better than any Restaurant in Ybor City in Tampa. It comes with enough yellow rice and black beans and fried sweet plantains to fill up the hungriest human. I tried the lunch special of chicken and yellow rice, this is a HUGE plate full of delicious chicken and yellow rice and it is GOOD it arrived just warm not hot. Dixie is craving sweet so she orders the flan, it’s coated with super sweet caramalized glaze, it was the creamy finish to what was to have beeen just a light lunch for us, so much for good intentions. We are headed to the boat races now and the KW7 are at the Navy Pier The Outer Mole is what they call it. There are concessions, so they have beer and food for sale, Thank God. I’m not a big race fan, watching boats go round and round gets a little boring, if I was driving it would be a whole different story. After the final race we go to the pits where the “Stihl” Boat team has invited us for drinks, we kill a few beers and then thank them for their hospitality and its off to The Conch Republic

for Mojitos, and appetizers courtesy of Glenn and Charlene. We are getting a little tired so Dixie and I take off to the campground but stop off at Publix for a loaf of bread and some cheese for a light snack/dinner and star gazing since it is such a nice clear night. It’s Saturday

I’m up early and do a 2 mile walk, write my blog and do some reviews on Anthony Bourdain contest. Dixie has been wanting to try B.O. Fish Wagon

and so we are off to eat lunch there. It doesn’t matter what side you enter from, this place is my kind of dump. It was a 8×12 food trailor that has had tin roofs added onto it until it is a menagerie of roof styles and leaks. But enough about the almost building. You wait in line, and place your order,pay cash as credit cards are not accepted, for fish,shrimp or conch sandwiches and add what ever side that you want, get a cold beer and find a table and clean it off yourself and wait for your fresh tasty fish to arrive.Today grouper(fried only) or Dolfin,we get it blackened and a side of hand cut fries. Both sandwiches served on soft loaf bread, their own homemade key lime sauce, lettuce and tomato.A hunk of grouper dusted with corn meal breading and the dolfin blackened. Nothing not to like here. If you want ambience go some place else, this place is about plain old good tasting fish and if you don’t like it they don’t care. While we are there Glenn calls up and they are back from fishing and let us know that they will pick us up for a boat ride, on the way to us the Super boat “Aquamania” flips and they are the first boat on site, as they are approaching the capsized boat they see the rescue hellicopter dropping divers to get the people out, everybody looks OK but there’s a million bucks down the drain. So they pick us up and we’re cruising around looking at all of the go fast boats in for the race and poker run. There’s a 37′ with 5 that’s right 5 -350 HP engines,

 absolutley amazing. We see 2 wet people with life jackets on coming in on another rescue boat, another boat “All Jacked Up”

has flipped also. We decide to watch them pump the water out of the boats and haul them out of the water.

 We head back to the condo and clean up the boat and then head back to the campground to get ready for the night out. First off we are off to the 94′ Yacht for appetizers and drinks on the boat “Judy Ann” owned by the Stihl Guy.

i don’t generally drink tequilla.  while its mostly ’cause i’m not allowed to… it is also because i don’t particularly love the taste. I whipped this up for the first time a few weeks ago just for something to do with the shot and a half of margarita mix i’ve had on the shelf since Burningman TWO YEARS ago. Now this drink isn’t amazing because i was so terribly clever to think of mixing these three things together. Its amazing because of how goddammn delicious it is. Its the kind of drink you make, set on the table, and then are surprised to see empty just a minute or two later and then you realize you’ve been sipping at it non-stop since you sat down. and then you realize you’ve had 5 of them… and then you wake up behind a quickeemart in Tuscon.

Pama pomegranate liqueur
Jose Cuervo golden margarita (with gran marnier)
Shake over ice
serve up
win.

I included the brands, just to capture this tastiness exactly. using Pama for the pomegranate liqueur is pretty important for this one, as this type of liqueur has a wide variety of flavors. instead of the margarita mix, one could simply use slightly more tequila,  sour mix, fresh lime and a splash of gran marnier.

Criza egal vanzari mai mici egal venituri mai reduse egal cheltuieli mai greu de sustinut egal taieri de costuri. Acestea din urma se pot realiza prin disponibilizari sau reduceri salariale, renegocieri cu furnizori de produse sau spatii inchiriate, externalizarea unor activitati, eficientizarea altora, reducerea consumului si variantele pot face subiectul unui articol intreg separat. Care sunt insa cele mai sigure metode de a da gres?

De la varful piramidei in jos, cererea sau impunerea unei schimbari in cadrul firmei in sensul reducerii costurilor dar fara ca top managementul insusi sa-si schimbe atitudinea. Asa se intampla cand entuziasmul ideii este mai mare decat planificarea la rece a masurilor necesare, cand masurile de moment sunt implementate fara o analiza prealabila, fara o re-planificare a activitatilor in conditiile date de redimensionarea resurselor disponibile si fara ca masurile sa fie acceptate si adoptate de membrii echipei. Este ca si cum ar merge intr-o directie necunoscuta.

Urmeaza lipsa de incredere dintre management si angajatii din pozitiile de executie fapt ce duce la subminarea activitatilor firmei. Deseori managerii considera ca deciziile nu se discuta si trec peste prezentarea masurilor si pregatirea angajatilor in vederea implementarii lor iar acestia din urma considera ca managerii stiu mai bine ce se va intampla cu compania dar in mod intentionat evita comunicarea cu angajatii. Rezulta un butoi de pulbere si o lipsa de determinare.

Ca in orice activitate, un om este numit responsabil de implementarea unui program de masuri de reducere a costurilor. Drumul spre esec este pavat cu bune intentii. Ce folos daca cel responsabil nu are experienta unor momente similare sau nu are expertiza acestui tip de activitati sau capacitatea de a prevedea efectele masurilor? Prea multe firme dau gres in acest fel.

Patronii cu dare de mana prefera alte metode. Angajeaza consultanti care sunt foarte bine pregatiti teoretic dar la nivel practic stau mai rau decat proprii angajati care cel putin cunosc resorturile care au facut compania sa prospere sau sa decada. Cei mai buni dintre consultanti au in spate aproape o viata in care si-au desavarsit metodele de lucru proprii, implementate cu succes de-a lungul timpului in diverse proiecte. Dar mai sunt ele valabile intr-o perioada de criza? Pot fi adaptate programele pe termen lung pe care le promoveaza consultantii la masuri corective rapide?

In plus taierea masiva a costurilor dintr-o parte poate insemna privarea de resurse in alta parte asa incat activitatea firmei are de suferit inca si mai mult. Increderea este zdruncinata de lipsa unor perspective pozitive reale asa incat drumul spre faliment devine cu sens unic.

I’m so proud of myself. I have completed a lot of stuff off my checklist already. So far I have:

Turned in my lab report, Finished my writing entrance essays for the Post-Bachelor’s program I wanna go to, Sent my essays to be edited by a staff member (I’m gonna send it to some other but I don’t know who yet), and Submitted my work schedule for Winter. I also got my Genetics homework done early and I got 5% higher the second time I did it than the first. Not bad. I’m finally acting like school is in session because I was on summer break still for the first 6 weeks of this quarter. I get the feeling I am not going to fail Genetics. I have never failed any class in my LIFE, except gym one marking period but never again. I hope I pass because my schedule will be sweet if I do.

OMG! My grandmother just emailed me. Totally out of the blue. How did she get my email? First, my cousin, now this? Must be my lucky week. She said we should go to dinner! YES! FREE FOOD! I love grandmas. Good thing I have like 4. Some people don’t even have one…but thanks to a lot of lovin’ in my family, I have four. I used to have six but two have died since then. People always think I’m lying about that but I’m not. Who lies about how many grandmas they have. I used to have this friend who thought I said grandma madd cute. We aren’t friends any more because we got into this HUGE fight back in the day. We’re cordial now. You know, facebook friends…but back then she would always make me say grandma like twice a day. Apparently, I say it funny and if I tried to say it properly she would get mad. Weird. I have lost some good friends over the years. Oh well.

Next weekend is going to be my boyfriend’s roommates birthday. This is good news but I kinda wish it was not. Like his birthday is on pay day and he wants to go to PF Changs or Cheesecake Factory. I have not ordered his birthday gift yet and he also wants to have a drunken get-together Saturday. I want to participate in the festivities. He claims he is gonna have Patron and Moet all night. I would like to try Moet. I’ve never had it but finals are next week on T and R and F and I have to work on M and W. Maybe that is why I been bustin out this work like this. Hopefully I can get my 10-page paper turned in by R night and I can study for my finals all week. That way I don’t have to study too much on M W F. Awww I wanna get drunk! I have only been drunk like a couple times and I didn’t throw up. It was super fun. I don’t get too drunk. I just sip until I walk a little funny. After that I cut myself off.

I need to get As on all these finals to even make an impression on my failing grades so that my teachers will feel sorry for me and give me Ds. I just hope this works out. I really need these classes to walk that stage in May. I can’t let the family down.

Pour le clin d’oeil macabre, le couturier Hugo Boss habillait les SS… Héritage un peu trash à porter, surtout quand on a préférer ne pas changer de nom de marque. Pour y voir plus clair, voici un point de vue Né Kid sur la question :

Et il avait l’outrecuidance d’employer des tournures de phrases trop complexes pour lui ; un peu comme cet écrivain qu’Eugénie avait eu l’occasion de lire un ou deux ans auparavant, le lecteur voyait bien qu’il essayait du mieux qu’il pouvait de donner du style à son récit, mais ce dernier était par trop maladroit et surtout, bien trop prétentieux. Ne devient pas un auteur classique qui veut. Elle avait cependant lu le livre jusqu’au bout, se gaussant intérieurement à presque chaque page, certaine qu’elle pouvait faire mieux si on lui donnait un mois ou deux.

« Je “connais la situation”… Que voulez-vous dire exactement ?

—    Notre Roy s’ennuie, royalement. »

Etait-ce là de l’humour, ou de la simple maladresse ?

« C’est pourquoi il nous faut absolument trouver une chose, la plus infime soit-elle, pour le divertir un peu en attendant son anniversaire dans un mois. Vous auriez quelques idées, par hasard ?

Elle savait bien qu’il finirait bien par reparler de manière ordinaire pour lui. Et cela ne prenait généralement pas plus de temps.

« Monsieur, je ne comprends pas pourquoi vous prenez conseil auprès de moi, je ne suis qu’une secrétaire. Et je ne sais pas si je serais à même de supporter les responsabilités qu’incombe une telle tâche. Contrairement à vous, Monsieur, je ne sais pas si j’ai les épaules assez larges pour une telle chose. »

Le mélange de ce discours soigné, d’une petite expression populaire de son niveau et de cette flagornerie fortement ironique était un vrai délice. Cette conversation avait clairement égayé sa matinée.

« Ecoutez Eugé, je ne demande pas conseil, je demande des idées. Si vous n’êtes pas capable de voir la différence, je me suis trompé sur votre cas, et vais aller voir vos collègues probablement plus doués que vous pour prendre de telles décisions. »

Du chantage maintenant ? Très bien, il savait jouer et avait touché une corde sensible, car il savait comme elle qu’en demandant une telle chose à ses collègues, ils – mais surtout elle – allaient au devant de très nombreux ennuis.

« Je vois, se ravisa-t-elle. Vous souhaiteriez quelque chose de très différent de ce qui est prévu pour son anniversaire, ou plutôt une mise en bouche pour celui-ci ? »

Après tout, elle aussi pouvait se permettre de ne pas formuler ses questions dans les règles de l’art et faire comme tout le monde. Surtout quand elle devait se forcer à participer à d’inintéressantes activités.

« Monsieur, vous désirez vous entretenir avec moi ? »

Le plus je reste polie et courtoise, le mieux cela se passera, ma petite Eugénie, pensa-t-elle violemment. Ses derniers temps, elle négligeait de faire attention à ce qu’on ne la vît pas en présence de sa nouvelle amie sous-terrienne. Avoir de telles fréquentations ici était mal vu, bien qu’elles ne fussent pas interdites. C’était un peu comme pactiser avec l’ennemi qui n’en était officiellement pas un, ou se rabaisser à parler à des personnes « incapables de gérer politiquement notre monde moderne ». Elle haïssait, non, exécrait Patron encore plus qu’à l’ordinaire lorsqu’il proférait ce genre de paroles. Chaque jour, elle devait combattre d’incroyables pulsions de violence, de destruction, de mis en pièce de cet individu, au physique type du petit supérieur en manque d’autorité. Bien propre sur lui, jeune et dynamique, il avait l’avenir devant lui, il aurait pu profiter de sa jeunesse pour à vivre tranquillement au lieu de polluer de sa présence l’environnement de travail de ses collègues. Petit, les yeux hagards, il vous défigurait sans cesse, sans la moindre gêne, jusqu’à ce que, fatigué de ces enfantillages, vous détournassiez les yeux, signe évident pour lui d’une immense victoire psychologique. Elle en aurait presque pitié s’il ne lui rendait pas la vie plus pénible qu’elle ne l’était, mais non, elle le détestait, tout simplement. Il lui arrivait parfois, se laissant aller à quelques rêveries, de s’imaginer emporter Patron sous le bras jusqu’à la côte, pénétrer ce lieu hautement sécurisé qu’était le gouffre de l’oubli sans que personne ne la remarquât, et y jeter là son paquet encombrant, un rire diabolique aux lèvres. Puis, de retour au bureau, tous ses collègues incompétents la remercieraient dans un tonnerre d’applaudissements, et son supérieur direct le plus haut, le Ministre lui-même, la nommerait chef du service à la place de Patron, lui expliquant que jamais il n’avait réussi à trouver un prétexte valable pour le limoger. Alors, rien que par sa présence à cette fonction et par son sens évident de la pédagogie, même ses collègues deviendraient de bon fonctionnaires et ainsi, le service fonctionnerait à la perfection. Sa façon mal inspirée de s’habiller, son regard, son langage, son léger surpoids non assumé, sa chevelure trop bien rangée, ses petits doigts bien manucurés, tout en lui donnait de l’urticaire à « Eugé », comme il avait pris l’habitude de l’appeler. Mais quel toupet ! s’exclama-t-elle la première fois qu’elle reçut ce diminutif, sa position hiérarchique n’a pas à m’imposer un semblant de relation amicale avec lui. Le pire était qu’elle adorait que ses amis raccourcissent ainsi son prénom.

« Vous n’êtes pas sans savoir la situation actuelle, n’est-il pas ? »
