Clinging desperately to the last symbol of his past, he makes his home inside his luxury car. Walker, Roman and Joseph Kay originally wrote the scenario in response to the Enron debacle.

CFRB takes aim at CBC’s morning man.

On the back of the latest CHRISTIAN STANDARD magazine (Standard Publishing), there’s another in a series of little gems from New York church planter Paul Williams. For a long time, now, he’s been writing his brief column, “And So It Goes.” If I read nothing else in the magazine, I always read ASIG. Almost always, it’s bright as a scalpel and just as incisive.

In the Sept. 20 issue, he writes about flipping the channels between late-night talk show hosts, finding Conan O’Brien, David Letterman, etc. all clad in suit and tie. At the North American Christian Convention, however, at the five main sessions he attended, he saw five preachers in polo shirts or “hide-the-fat” Hawaiian shirts. “Hmmm,” sayeth Brother Williams. I quote a couple paragraphs:

“Some day archeologists will discover evidence dating back to the early 21st century. They will gather behind closed doors and puzzle together about the early days of the third millennium. What fascinating conclusions will they reach? I can see the headline: ‘Clothing Unlocks Secrets-Ancient Civilization Worshipped Comedy–Laughed at Religion.’

“I am not a curmudgeon. Really, I’m not. You can ask my kids. I am pretty sure there is no right or wrong here. But you have to admit, it is fascinating.”

“How did we get here? How did David Letterman end up doing his monologue in a suit, while I quote Scripture in a pair of Levi’s?”

I’ve asked myself that very same question, Brother.

A Demonstration of Media Hypocrisy

Political commentators for MSNBC are now accusing conservative TV and radio hosts of inciting uninformed white Americans to assassinate political leaders. The media meme suggests that the Tea Party and Town Hall protesters’ placards and rhetoric likening Brother O to Hitler is an implicit or a coded call to incite violence against him.

The anti-government, anti-Brother O sentiment expressed by some of the protesters has caused two progressive propagandists to demonstrate their overt hypocrisy. Jolly old Chris “Tingle” Matthews notified talk radio hosts that they would be held accountable for any violence that happens to Brother O. 

In Rachel’s “Mad Mad Mad” Maddow world the right-wing media and the corporate-funded anti-reform movement are invoking political assassination by deliberately and systematically using Hitler as a rhetorical weapon against Brother O and the progressive Democrats in Congress.

Mad Maddow says she’s afraid that the right-wingers don’t understand the implications of their actions and is even more afraid that they do.

If MSNBC’s Chris Tingle and the stark raving mad Maddow are really concerned for Brother O’s well being, why didn’t these political commentators alert Americans to the dangers of the Nazi slogans, Hitler placards, and vituperative language when members of leftist groups used them to demonize George W. Bush and his administration?

Better yet, how would the two peas account for their anti-Bush rhetoric had a leftist “looneytune” “fruitloop” committed a violent act against Bush? Would political commentators have held them responsible for complicity and for unleashing anti-democratic, anti-American forces in this country?

Paul Williams has pieced together a video montage exposing the blatant hypocrisy of leftists’ Chris Tingle and mad Maddow. Williams uses the audio portion of a mad Maddow interview, in which she asks Frank Schaeffer whether or not calling Brother O Hitler is an implicit call for politically motivated violence.

Williams overlays the audio portion with video snippets of demonstrations that occurred when George W. Bush was president; the end result is quite revealing.

The hypocrisy of Chris Tingle, mad Maddow, and Frank Schaeffer is rivaled only by Seth Pecksniff, a character Charles Dickens likened to a sign post, “which is always telling the way to a place, and never goes there.”

I’m posting this for no other reason than to share something that is completely pointless that I found on the interwebs.  And I think the cat kind of looks like 70’s crooner, Paul Williams.

BTW – I swear to God if someone finds my blog by searching for “Paul Williams Shirtless,” I’m shoving a pencil in my ear.  For those of you who don’t know, if I post about a male celebrity on this blog, invariably I will find that someone has discovered my blog by searching for shirtless pictures of the celebrity.

In the aftermath of Floyd Mayweather’s unanimous decision victory over Juan Manuel Marquez Saturday night, the common refrain seemed to be not how dominant Mayweather had been in the fight, but instead why he didn’t knock Marquez out, or why he had even bothered to fight the man at all.

The criticism was laughable, but, then again, the criticism often is laughable when it comes to the man who calls himself “Money”. Floyd Mayweather is the most gifted boxer in the business, and has never been pushed even close to his breaking point in a fight. Because of that, people are always left wanting more when he cruises from beginning to end, as he did Saturday night, and dismantles his opponent – who, this time, just happened to be the near-consensus No. 2 pound-for-pound fighter in the world entering the fight.

Now the questioning of the legitimacy of Marquez’s chances against Mayweather in the ring would have been valid, and many did so. Marquez was jumping up about 10 pounds higher than he’d ever fought to take on Mayweather who, despite taking about 20 months off since his last fight, had been fighting at 147 pounds for years, and had fought Oscar De La Hoya – and won – at 154 pounds. And while often the smaller man would be the faster man in a fight like this, no one in boxing is faster than Mayweather, leaving Marquez with only one thing going for him: his undeniable heart and courage in the ring, the hallmark of great Mexican fighters.

And Marquez displayed that heart against Mayweather, in a fight where he was knocked down in the second round but continued to soldier on until 12 rounds had passed and the fight ended. But instead of hailing Marquez for holding his ground for 12 rounds against a man he had no chance of beating – something many lesser men wouldn’t have done – Mayweather was instead blasted for not forcing him to quit.

For a man with as much talent as “Money”, however, these questions will not go away. Instead, he can only, and should only, do everything that he can in order to make as many of the doubters change their tune as he can. To do that, he needs to take as many big fights as he can in the next two or three years, and take on the best fighters in the welterweight division.

That means fighting the winner of November’s clash between Miguel Cotto and Manny Pacquiao. That means taking on “Sugar” Shane Mosley, a man who many have said he’s avoided through his career. That means, if he wins those two fights, being willing to take on perhaps the scariest man in boxing, the 6-foot-1 inch welterweight Paul Williams – a man who would have plenty of advantages on the 5-foot-8 Mayweather, but would truly give him the credit that he craves as being the best if he managed to win the fight.

It will remain to be seen what will happen next with Mayweather’s career, though he claims to want to fight the best, and it seems more than likely that he will be taking on either Cotto or Pacquiao next May. But, in the meantime, it shouldn’t be forgotten that he just dismantled one of the best fighters in the world after taking nearly two years off.

The “Money” is back in boxing. Now let’s see where it goes from here.

O site De Olho na Mídia reproduziu a 27/08/2009 a denúncia de Paul Williams postada em The Last Crusade a 07/08/2009 sobre o “casamento pedófilo em massa” em Gaza como “furo” mundial e nacional. Mas, a bem da verdade, antes de The Last Crusade e de De Olho na Mídia, o caso foi postado a 02/08/2009 pelo anônimo “The Eye” em Road 90 e a 04/08/2009 neste blog, com o link para o impressivo vídeo que justificou a denúncia, também postado em We Jew.

A propósito do caso em pauta, num informe postado a 04/08/2009 no site World Net Daily, porta-vozes do Hamas, entrevistados por Aaron Klein, negaram com veemência que as 450 meninas vestidas de noiva que aparecem nas imagens supostamente manipuladas do evento que a organização terrorista democraticamente eleita promoveu a 29/07/2009 fossem as verdadeiras noivas. As meninas seriam as irmãs menores das noivas, as pequenas “damas de honra”, que tradicionalmente se vestiriam daquela maneira, isto é, exatamente como as noivas.

Contudo, para refutar a suposta “calúnia”, ou seja, a manipulação das imagens do casamento em massa (evento em si mesmo monstruoso, e politizado, como se pode ver pelas bandeiras ostentadas), o Hamas precisaria apresentar as imagens das “verdadeiras” noivas que se casaram na ocasião. Nenhuma noiva adulta é vista nos arredores. Estavam escondidas das câmaras? Chegaram depois da festa? É ainda notável que as 450 noivas possuam 450 irmãs menores… De qualquer forma, o mundo aguarda ansioso o tradicional álbum de fotografias dos casais adultos do enlace massivo como definitiva contraprova das imagens das noivas-meninas que circulam na internet, nos blogs, no YouTube, chocando a todos: seria um alívio para o mundo civilizado e suas organizações humanitárias que sutentam a causa palestina saber que aquelas 450 meninas não foram abusadas por 450 milicianos do Hamas…

Por outro lado, o abuso das crianças palestinas tem sido a regra sob as sucessivas lideranças da Autoridade Palestina. Somos assolados pela quantidade de notícias assombrosas que revelam como a infância tem sido violentada pelas autoridades palestinas com o consentimento de suas famílias e a complacência das organizações de Direitos Humanos, da ONU, da UNICEF. As crianças palestinas não cessam de ser educadas para a morte, seus corações e mentes continuam, a despeito dos protestos, sendo envenenados por injeções massivas de ódio racial e de ódio político. Nem mesmo na Alemanha nazista a doutrinação das crianças foi tão penetrante.

O Intelligence and Terrorism Information Center postou recentemente imagens de um grupo de crianças de jardim de infância carregando armas de plástico, um modelo do Domo da Rocha em Jerusalém e bandeiras palestinas numa performance de “dança da vitória” sobre “cadáveres de soldados do Exército de Israel” interpretados por outras crianças, em evento organizado a 3 de junho de 2009 pela Sociedade Dar al-Huda no Rashad al-Shawa Center, em Gaza. Os familiares das crianças assistem orgulhosos à pecinha, “como uma produção escolar de Cinderella, apenas genocida”, observou Omri Ceren, do blog Mere Rhetoric, que reproduziu a notícia. Enfim, nada é impossível na “República de Salò” montada em Gaza, sob a Administração do Hamas – nem mesmo esse espantoso teatro infantil da crueldade:

Might have been the Best thing For Fighters and HBO

One of the best match-ups in recent years in the middleweight division was called off this week as WBO/WBC Middleweight champion Kelly Pavlik has had to pull out of the fight due to injury. Reports are is that he has a staff infection on his left hand that is not allowing him to prepare properly for his up-coming fight with Paul Williams.

Many dates are being thrown around as a possible rescheduling but nothing is being discussed on a serious basis. Goossen went, as far to say if Pavlik can’t go then, they will find a replacement. He doesn’t like the fact that Williams hasn’t been in action since April 2009. Goossen tried to get Sugar Shane Mosley as a replacement but the only name GBP wants headlined with Williams is Bernard Hopkins.

The Williams team say they would be interested in a Hopkins fight, but not at the weight Hopkins is asking for of 170-pounds. Goossen said he would not make his fighter go over the Super Middle Weight limit of 168-pounds.

Does Two-Pounds Really Matter?

168-170-pounds does it really matter when you’re talking about Bernard Hopkins? He’s one of the most disciplined fighters the ring has ever seen, to imagine he would have trouble losing two-pounds is a joke. Goossen Tutors better go watch film of Hopkins beating Trinidad and Pavlik before they sign this contract. In both cases, many experts felt Hopkins would never beat neither of these men who were dominating in lower weight classes, but when both moved up and challenged the walking legend they got dominated themselves. B-hop is bigger physically than Williams; punches harder, and is the best skilled fighter he’s ever faced. The only advantages Williams will have would be punch activity and youth. Coincidently the same two advantages Pavlik and Tito had going into their fight with Hopkins. No… if I was Team Williams I would send a letter thanking GBP for the compliment of thinking my fighter can go from a fight between P-4-P ranked Mosley at the welterweight division of 147-pounds to a P-4-P ranked fighter in Hopkins 23-pounds higher in weight at 170-pounds. Thanks but no thanks Paul has to many opportunities at welterweight, Jr. Middleweight, and Middleweight. No reason for him to go into his fourth division just yet.

With the Extra Time and Date HBO Might Benefit

When I first heard that the fight was postponed I felt it was the best thing that could of happened for HBO, think about it they could turn this already mouthwatering match-up with-in the boxing world, into a mega fight the whole world will await. In the next few months, HBO is going to be getting into a hot streak of fights starting with Mayweather, Arreola in September, Dawson, Pacquiao in November, and possibly Sugar Shane Mosley in December. If HBO was to show commercials of the Pavlik/Williams math-up through out these fights, plus a 24/7 before their showdown they might create a buzz that would make this fight much bigger than any expectations October 3rd scheduled match would of done. Add to this an open date on October 3rd that they could fill with an top ten middleweight versus Williams and this postponement starts to sound like the best thing that could of happened to HBO. I know what doesn’t sound good and that’s the plan of moving up a young fighter to fast against a legend twenty-three pounds higher, especially when his biggest win to date is against a Welterweight.
