This fire-engine red wall color was already painted when moving in. Though someday I would like to tone it down, it’s grown on me as I’ve decorated. The only new items I purchased was the vibrant peacock painting (one of my favorite finds!) and the small turquoise plate (upper right-hand photo) – a combined total of $34 for the whole room! When grouping wall arrangements, follow simple spacial and color matching guidelines: no more than 3 times the frame width between each picture; and pull colors from the main piece(s) to create continuity. Then, when decorating tabletops and surfaces, use the same accents. For instance, in this room I use several small blue & white chotchkies, like the blue & white plates I have hanging. This pulls the entire room together, even if there are many colors represented. One other hint, before nailing umpteen (as my mother would say) holes in the wall, lay your arrangement out on the floor until you are happy with the layout. Change pieces in and out…play with it…be daring, and most of all have fun!

I LOVE that this is a demo cast, that I get to keep and show off at show’s! Thank you to Tamara at Daisy Days for the inspiration! After being stuck for hours on a design, and completely wiping it out, this is what happened:

If you are looking to have your cast decorated in this way, it would be $130. (Extra cost for feathers and special ribbon).

Bhavna had long wanted to paint a peacock but it could certainly not have been a conventional peacock!! It had to be unique and so she decided upon a metallic look to make her beautiful bird come alive! The colour for the main body of the bird is a simulated copper while the eyes on the feathers are a very complimentary green.

If you look closely each and every single feather, the oval around the eyes all have been painstakingly painted with individual dots! This took almost more than a month but as you can see Bhavna’s efforts have paid off

The one thing that had concerned her the most was that her peacock had to have a really alluring eyes, with innocence and she kept telling everybody that she was not happy with the eye, we thought the eye was just perfect, so what do you think ? Does the eye look alluring enough? Do drop a line and maybe Bhavna can be persuaded otherwise !
