I’m not a copywriter. I’m not a blogger.

I’m no novelist, nor poet, nor songwriter…

I’m merely a writer.

Or perhaps, more to wit, especially a writer.

I don’t clock out. I don’t take it for granted.

I don’t write because they tell me to. I write because I have to.

Because it’s more than what I do—it’s who I am.

I try to transcend the cliche, the obvious.

Go ahead and draw a line in the sand, I’ll cross it eventually—I refuse to accept the limits of what’s been done. Life is more than just a copy/paste of the past.

I’m as flexible as a Russian gymnast—I’m more than any one style.

I’m more than just funny—comedic. I’m not always a sentimental baby, and not every word must burn.

We’re built to process more than the surface emotion.

Sometimes it’s not a matter of what you want.

Sometimes it’s a matter of what you didn’t know you needed.

My motive isn’t always clear, and I don’t write for everyone.

I write for you, and it’s true:

The pen is mightier than the sword.

Anyone can throw a punch or pull a trigger, but action merely garners reaction.

Words can do so much more.

Someday, some folks might just realize what they’re missing.

What they missed.

What they didn’t know they needed.

As for right now, I can only write now.

Zeal: Afflatus of Success

What moves a person into determination is the zeal itself. It drives a person into action…so anyone who believes in zeal triumphs even on the most painstaking and brain-scattering tribulations or treacherous adversities.

The toughest façade of every goal or ambition lies on a solid desire and action towards one’s realization. Really, zeal is of no doubt because it is a manifested equator of progress towards success due to its convincing and mandating power to trailblaze the path of a settled task, plan, goal, and ambition. Zeal is considerably the firebrand of life…it is important and lucid that it must be fueled with refined optimism – an action with positive point of views.

Some disregard zeal an asset for they are too reluctant to compete and struggle. Scads consider zeal is trivial and dispensable because they are fickle because they believe on what-come-may luck and it is a bane for them; their reason is that zeal is a sort of boo. Now, all of them who believe that zeal is a messy pot turns booby and will be futile in the end. Why and how comes? It is because they lack the knowledge that zeal is the dream’s pre-requisite towards realization. Many err on believing that zeal is dispensable but in reality, it is indispensable.

How can person gain zeal? The answer goes this way: it starts in the personal encouragement of one’s family members, the encouragement of friends, classmate, and colleagues, who can tickle the interest of the individual. The interest tickled will eventually empower the person to aspire. From that interest, it will develop the individual’s doctrine, values, and self-concept that will serve as the collective purpose that a person may be committed. Finally, the result for that formulated commitment will be a vibrant zeal…a subliming action to act for a cause!

Anyone who dreams for success must be inspired with zeal; for zeal is forever the stem of success from the life’s dawn to grim reaper.

It’s been a week since I posted anything so I forced myself to do a quick sketch of someone today.

I am in a sketching phase. And especially scenes, not things or objects. Scenes like buildings and architecture, streets, les places, small shops. I don’t think I’m particularly good at these type of “scenes”, but I’m having fun!   I sometimes feel I will never be a proper artist. I  feel too much  like a changeling for I have too many phases. Maybe it is the winter.  Or the atmosphere in the streets, the lights coming from buildings, the reflection of streetlamps…how can I work alone in my atelier when there is the smell of coffee and hot chocolate in the bars, the intimate talks around candles, the festivity of people with shopping bags in the streets, the  creeping deeper into your woolen hat and coat…

I know, I know.  What happened to Inking The Paper a daily writing blog?  Well I could use the excuse I ran out of supplies, but that would be a lie.  I really need to just discipline myself to write daily and use the computer to do so.  I like and enjoy writing long hand in a journal.  There is something to the pen in hand, the motion of the wrist, and the ink flowing over paper that, well; works for me.  Then there is the retyping on the computer to publish.  Yada, yada, yada.

I am endeavoring to begin again.  I hope my followers will bear with me while I get my bearings.  Dividing up the time between journaling, working on stories, and gathering data for new ideas, not to mention other duties is tricky.  Once upon a time I was quite organized and a decent multi-tasker.  What happened?  Just when I need those skills the most.  Poof!  They disappear.   I am working on getting those skills back along with a few other things.  I know it is an up hill battle.  Via moving on and upward!

Yesterday was again very busy… Sandeep from Childrens Future India (CFI) came with the car to our hotel in Mumbai; Pen next… Of course we all + the luggage, didn’t fit into the car. We tried a million variations and everybody shifted place several times. Luggage up and down from the top of the car. The ususal India hullabaloo… End of story: Sandeep had to take a taxi with our luggage… hmmmmm. And we haven’t started shopping yet!!

But we arrived in CFI’s office only an hour after schedule and I met Dr Deshmuk who runs the CFI office in Raigad, and whom I met in Oslo some weeks ago. We were greeted with the usual flower garlands and then the rush started; presentations, tour of the office etc, before going out to meet my new sponsored child Seema and her family. They live in a small village, aprox 20 family members in the house. After a while I realised we were not only  people in the house, but two oxens as well…The family is very poor, Seema has three sisters and a brother. Father is not able to work because of something is wrong with his foot. The mother was so tiny I can’t understand she has been able to give birth to five children. Afterwards we visited Seema’s village school where we were placed on the ususal plastic chairs up front….

But what made the biggest impression on us, was the visit we made to a young widow with three children. Her brother had helped her buy a small house and CFI recently helped her get a door for the house so she would feel more secure. Widows in India lives a poor life. Her small house was without electricity and furniture, only some kitchen utensils and one kerosene lamp. We gave the soscial workers money so that the family could get groceries for approx 6 months. We were all very quiet when we left, the visit had made a great impact on us.

We had lunch at the CFI office, and afterwards we visited a small hospital. The head doctor came from the slums, she was once a poor child, sponsored from Norway through CFI. Now she is a doctor…

We all felt extremely tired when we set out for Pune, but traffic was not too bad so we reached before 8 pm. We felt drenched, and full of impressions. Food and Kingfisher was the only solution………
