Americans are no strangers to the Italian firearms maker Benelli. SWAT teams armed forces units are

Americans are no strangers to the Italian firearms maker Benelli. SWAT teams armed forces units are very familiar with the semi-automatic shotgun from Benelli, as are any number of hunters in the States, especially bird hunters who flock to the Super Black Eagle.

But it’s not only the shotguns produced by Benelli that turn heads half a world away. The Benelli MR1 Tactical rifle is making a line of its own converts to the Italian manufacturer. But Benelli is bringing over some of the unique engineering of its shotguns to the tactical rifle, including the auto regulating gas-operated system (ARGO). The MR1 is a .223 semi-automatic rifle.

As this article about the MR1 points out, not everyone is stoked to go down the tactical rifle road. The reputation for fouling in the AR-style guns is not a secret. And others are turned off by the assault-style design of tactical weapons. But the Benelli MR1 offers a marriage between tactical and traditional with a design that isn’t overtly military, nor is it made to look like it belongs in a leather case on the side of a horse.

But looks aside, what the MR1 has to offer is a shooting experience that is heightened based on its superior design features. One of those features is the ARGO system’s exhaust gas redirection that self-cleans the steel piston. The piston operates the rotating bolt, which means there is less chance of fouling with the ARGO system.

The MR1 has a 16-inch barrel with a 1:9 RH twist. The gun comes with a five-round mag, but of course you can find mags with much higher capacities that will fit perfectly, and most of which function perfectly. One reviewer had issues with a Brownells mag, which only had one feed failure in his test. The finish is black synthetic. It weighs just less than eight pounds (without the scope and unloaded).

Those who want to keep a pristine gun might take issue with the tendency of this gun to acquire damage due to spent casing ejecting and deflecting off the bolt or the metal above the chamber.

Outlaw Bidder carries a variety of Benelli products. Visit the site frequently as the stock is always rotating.

Purists who believe the 1911 should be chambered for the .45 only should look away now. The Colt Delta Elite takes all the design elements of the M1911 pistol but puts a little more punch into it with the 10mm round.

Colt utilizes the “commander” hammer in this gun and has a double recoil spring that helps give a stiffer response to the sharper recoil of the big 10mm round. The Delta Elite was first designed in both blued and steel versions but now settles on steel only. Regardless of its finish, there is no mistaking the design of the 1911 and its classic features, all of which are in this gun.

According to this guns.com review, everything in the design of the Delta Elite is the same as the standard 1911. And like the other 1911, it’s not going to be the friendliest conceal carry weapon. If you’re not privy to the recoil of big-bore guns, this is also going to put the ouch on you at the range. Having said that, you’ll find reviews where 66-year-old women weighing 100 pounds will manage the recoil while keeping tight groups at 30 feet. Another issue that might dissuade some shooters is a lack of 10mm ammunition in some parts of the country. Aside from these distractions, those who want a reliable sidearm on a hunt or a sidearm that can take down some bigger game, this has proven to be a good fit.

There are variants of which you should be aware. Colt designed the Gold Cup Ten and the Match 10 for competition shooting. The Ten Forty was designed in the early 1990s offering dual caliber – .40 and 10mm. One model offered black grips with a spur hammer. The gun being produced by Colt today has high profile sights with dots, standard safety lock and grip safety, and a lowered ejection port. Barrel length is five inches. The magazine capacity is eight rounds. The receiver material is stainless steel, as is the receiver. Overall length is 8.5 inches, and the weight is around 35 ounces.

Look for the Delta Elite and other fine pistols at Outlaw Bidder, the only penny auction site with a federal firearms license. Take some time to look through the site’s blog for a variety of informative articles on handguns, rifles, shotguns, knives, and accessories.

This petite marvel, called the Nano, has the profile of a soap bar left in the shower for a couple of weeks, according a recent review in thetruthaboutguns.com.

The Nano has also drawn comments regarding its similarities to the baby Glock, including the trigger, which has some referring to this gun as the baby Beretta. However, the triggers are quite different despite the aesthetics. The Nano’s trigger is not a two-stage pull, rather it is a DAO trigger. Where the Glock utilizes a push release, the Nano is keen on the roll release, which finds favor with most shooters because of its smoother pull. Despite the smooth pull, some reviewers take a couple of boxes of ammo before they’ve grown accustomed to it, but once they settle into it, the trigger is a delight.

The Nano is the right size for pocket carry. Most wouldn’t recommend carrying without a holster, but because of the DAO trigger, an exception is made in the case of the Nano. And due to the sleek and smooth outer design of the Nano, there’s nothing to snag as it’s put into or pulled out of a pocket.

For many Nano owners, there is no break-in period with the Nano. It will fire perfectly straight out of the box. For most users, this is the case, but you will find reviews where one or two failure to eject issues pop up in the first 300 rounds. Users enjoy the solid feel of the Nano and its natural-pointing ergonomics that lead to more accurate shooting. Some Nano users prefer to switch out the sights for night sights. Sights can be switched out with a 1.3mm hex wrench, according to Beretta.

The gun is 5.63 inches in length and weighs just over 17 ounces. The sight radius is 4.92 inches and the barrel length is 3.07 inches. It’s over width is .90 inches and the height is 4.17 inches. The sights are low-profile, 3-dot. The grip is made of technolpolymer and frame is stainless steel. The magazine holds six rounds, but many Nano enthusiasts are anxiously awaiting Beretta’s release of higher-capacity mags.

Micro-guns like the Nano are up for auction at Outlaw Bidder, the only online penny auction site that has a federal firearms license.
Lewis Machine & Tool Company (LMT) began bringing quality weaponry to military, law enforcement,

Lewis Machine & Tool Company (LMT) began bringing quality weaponry to military, law enforcement, and government agencies in 1980. The mission of the company is to “deliver precision machined parts, weapon systems, assemblies and engineering services” to customers. Based in Milan, Il., LMT designs and develops small arms systems, subsystems and components. Utilizing a five-axis grinder, LMT produces their own tools to create quality arms.

Guns.com recently ran an article detailing the new line from LMT that they are calling the LM8 Platform. The platform, as of now, consists of two rifles: the LM8 MWS and the LM8 MRP.

What’s new with the LM8 Platform? The biggest change from the company’s standard AR platform is the free-floating handguard, which is lightweight and narrow.

The LM8 handguard has a 12 o’clock rail that extends the length of the handguard. There are also removable mounts at three, six, and nine o’clock. The LM8 rail segments come in four-rail (1 3/8”), six-rail (2 1/8”), eight-rail (2 15/16”), and 10-rail (3 ¾”).

Reviewers are impressed with the new LM8 5.56 tactical, with its flexibility in being offered in either direct-gas impingement or short-stroke gas piston operating rod platform.

The LM8 MRP (monolithic rail platform) is engineered with the LMT Defender lower, SOPMOD butt stock, and a standard trigger group. The upper receiver has a 16-inches long, chromed lined, barrel with a twist rate of 1:7. The LM8 Platform is a semi-auto bolt carrier group with a tactical charging handle assembly.

The LM8 MWS (modular weapon system) is engineered with an LM308 MWS lower and same butt stock and trigger set up as the MRP. The barrels for the MWS come in either a 1:10 twist or 1:11.35 twist. This model also has a semi-auto bolt carrier group and a tactical charging handle assembly.

The retail on the MRP is around $2,030. The MWS suggested retail is closer to $3,000. Both come with a sling, an operator’s manual, tactical adjustable rear and front sights, one 20-round magazine, two push button swivels, four rail segments, and a torque wrench.

If don’t want to pay that much, try looking for LMT products online at Outlaw Bidder, equipped with a federal firearms license and plenty of guns on which to bid. Outlaw Bidder has an extensive and ever-growing site with reviews of various small arms weapons, including various types of Desert Eagle handguns, tactical shotguns, optics, and tactical rifles.

Those who know the Desert Eagle as the behemoth .50 caliber that has mule-kick recoil might be a lit

Those who know the Desert Eagle as the behemoth .50 caliber that has mule-kick recoil might be a little taken aback to see the name inscribed on a micro gun. The Micro Desert Eagle was originally designed so small that it was not legal to bring it into the U.S. (designed and manufactured in Europe). According to this guns.com article, the rights were bought by Magnum Research, which made some changes to the design so that it could be legally acquired in the states.

The Micro is a .380 with a 2.2-inch barrel. Due to the barrel length, the ammo fired from this gun will not live up to the fps on the box. But where muzzle energy is lost, compactness is gained. With an overall length of 4.5 inches, this tiny gun will fit in the palm of most hands. Those who feel the need to always be packing heat might consider this a perfect pocket gun. Clothing that won’t conceal a compact .40 caliber or 9mm in a holster will have no problem swapping out for the .380 Micro.

The Micro has a gas-delayed blowback system that utilizes to ports in front of the chamber that direct the gasses up and forward, which helps delay the slide. A standard design would require heavier springs and a heavier slide, but the gas-delayed blowback helps save on size and weight. With an empty mag, the Micro Desert Eagle weighs just under 14 ounces, which for a micro is not the lightest out there, but the little extra weight helps control recoil.

The trigger on this gun might be a deal-breaker for some, especially those with larger hands. It’s double action-only and has a pull weight between eight and 10 pounds. Rapid and accurate firing of this pistol is probably not going to happen for the inexperienced shooter.

The slide on the Micro Desert Eagle has a similar shape to its giant brother, and it’s nickel Teflon-finished. Everything on the gun is smooth, which makes it perfect for pocket carry. The sights are smooth too and are actually a permanent part of the slide (rear sights).

Some shooters have reported rounds not cycling like they are meant to cycle. But a firm grip and a stiff hold should solve that problem. Those with oversized hands might not be fans of the Micro Eagle, or any micro gun for that matter.

The gun retails for less than $450, and can sometimes be found for around $350. But you might be able to get it for pennies at Outlaw Bidder.
Hopefully, you’ll be casting a vote for your choice of President this November. And hopefully, it’s

Hopefully, you’ll be casting a vote for your choice of President this November. And hopefully, it’s a vote that is informed. Whether you vote the party line or on the issues, one that’s likely to hit home to frequenters of this site is the candidate’s stance on gun control.

You’ve likely been hammered with information and in many cases, misinformation, about what a candidate believes and doesn’t believe. There has been and continues to be much speculation about the future of our Second Amendment right to bear arms under President Barack Obama. The fear has helped boost gun sales considerably.

Does this sound familiar: Obama wants to take your guns and Mitt Romney is the NRA’s dream candidate? It’s not quite accurate. Romney will blast Obama on his stance on gun control, but Obama has been a complete disappointment to gun control advocates.

Romney’s past hasn’t always been NRA friendly – in 1994, he said his views did not “line up with the NRA.” He has since taken a more pro-gun stance and is a lifetime member of the NRA.

FactCheck.org ran an article in 2008 that outlines how Obama’s stance on gun control can be so far maligned. FactCheck is a non-partisan site that has been inaccurately associated with gun control advocates, but the site’s parent company has donated millions of dollars to conservative causes, so take that criticism with a grain of salt.

In the interest of becoming more informed, consider a recent article on NPR’s website that outlines where the candidates stand on issues that the NRA has pushed.

GOA (Gun Owners of America) has bought into it, citing Obama as a “radical anti-gun President.” But they’re not so sure about Romney either as he “likes to talk the pro-gun talk, he has not always walked the walk.”

Gun control and politics make for terrible bedfellows. Democrats know better than to push that agenda. That could be the reason Obama has stayed mostly quiet on the issue. Obama said on the campaign trail in September 2008 in Pennsylvania to a crowd that “If you’ve got a gun in your house, I’m not taking it … even if I want to take them away, I don’t have votes in Congress.” He’s done nothing in his first term to make anyone believe that he will take any radical gun control action.

If you want to exercise your Second Amendment rights and acquire a gun, consider giving Outlaw Bidder a chance. The penny auction site has a federal firearms license and offers a variety of guns, from tactical shotguns and rifles to handguns and all the accessories. Check the site for information about which gun fits you best. Perhaps the Kimber Solo will be as popular with you as it was for the American Rifleman, which gave it the handgun of the year award in 2012.

Glock requested a new ammo load that could produce the knockdown power of a .45 ACP, but in a shorte

Glock requested a new ammo load that could produce the knockdown power of a .45 ACP, but in a shorter form that could fit in guns made more compactly. Thus came the .45 G.A.P. (Glock Automatic Pistol).

The Glock 38 is a compact gun that utilizes the .45 G.A.P., which can fire 230-grain ammo, just like the standard .45. For those who want a compact gun that packs more heat than the .9mm or the .40, the Glock 38 is probably a good place to look.

The 4.02 inch barrels fits neatly in a compact gun only 6.85 inches long, 1.18 inches wide, and five inches high. The trigger pull is rated at around 5.5 pounds. The gun has an eight round clip, but there are 10-round clips available for this model.

As this article in Guns and Ammo points out, consumers of handguns meant for concealed carry face the small gun/small cartridge dilemma – it’s small enough to effectively conceal but it isn’t offering a large enough round. On the other hand, larger calibers generally come in larger frames, making it more difficult to conceal. The reviewer in the article was able to deliver five-rounds at 50 feet in a two-inch grouping.

The Glock 38 compact solves that issue. An even smaller version is available in the Glock 39 model, which comes in the similar dimension as the “baby Glock” 26 subcompact model.

The compact models similar in size to the Glock 38 include the popular Glock 19 9mm and the .40 caliber Glock 23. Glock claims that the Glock 38 is popular with plainclothes police officers and military defenders. Glock accessories for the Glock 38 include the Glock Tactical Light (GTL 21 and GTL 22), which also includes a laser. The GTL 10 (sans laser) is also compatible with the Glock 38.

Glock, arguably the most popular handgun on the market today, will likely be a staple on Outlaw Bidder’s penny auction site that deals in guns and gun accessories, from small caliber handguns to large caliber rifles.

Taking shots while looking precisely down your sights is not always an option. While not all gun enthusiasts are sold on the “retention position” as a valid shooting position, in some personal defense situations there is an argument to make for employing a laser on your home defense handgun allowing you to acquire your target.

Without night sights, drawing a bead on your target in the darkest hours of the night is next to impossible. As this article in Guns & Ammo concludes, lasers let you put your muzzle toward the threat without any thought on looking down your sights.

There are many laser options out there, many of which are a light/laser combo. Here are a few to check out:

The guide-rod laser by LaserMax actually replaces the guide rod in your gun, giving you a laser that requires no zeroing. As long as the laser is in the space where your rod used to be, it will always be on target. With the laser internally mounted, there is still room on your rail for the light of your choice, should you choose to install one.

The Surefire X400 is a rail-mounted laser with a light as well. The non-adjustable light is powerful with an ambidextrous activation lever. The laser is adjustable for windage and elevation by the simple turn of a few screws.

The LaserLyte RL-XD is a different beast than the rail-mounted lights. This one mounts at the rear sight, which has to be removed. The laser is activated with a button mounted near the rear sight. The laser modes include steady and pulsating.

The Crimson Trace LG320 is a grip laser that requires more installation than the easily mountable rail lasers. Because it has a low profile, the LG320 is a good option for those who want a laser on their conceal carry handguns.

The Viridian C5L laser/light combo distinguishes itself from other rail-mounted lasers with its green beam (most others are red). The C5L emits a bright beam that is visible in the daylight. The laser has six modes that include pulsating and strobe for both light and laser. It also is adjustable for windage and elevation.

There are so many variables to consider when choosing which handgun to use for your next hunting tri

There are so many variables to consider when choosing which handgun to use for your next hunting trip. Hunting handguns come in barrel lengths longer than a foot, bolt action, revolver, semi-automatic, scoped, or tripod ready. Some are single shot while others might have a clip capable of holding eight or more rounds.

The most obvious variable to consider is the size of the game you intend to bring down. Small game hunters are well served with a .22. But a .22 won’t work (nor is it legal) on larger game. But herein lies another problem – going to a bigger bore means there will be more recoil to deal with. Note to beginners: stay away from the 454 Casull and the .50 caliber.

Cost is a consideration too – if you’re going to hunt with this gun you need plenty of target practice, which can get expensive fast with the bigger bore ammo.

As Gary Smith mentions in his article in Handgun Hunter Magazine, most self-defense shooting is measured in feet, whereas hunting is measured in yards, which means finding a gun that is reliable and accurate for longer ranges is extremely important.

For a whitetail deer or similar-sized game that can be taken at 100 yards or less, Mr. Smith recommends a 44 revolver. And despite its Dirty Harry reputation as the biggest, meanest handgun ever made, the recoil of a 44 revolver is manageable.

But for similar-sized game that is taken at longer distances, say up to 200 yards, a 7-30 Waters has the power to reach out and bring down deer-sized game, although with considerably more recoil than the 44. It’s also quite a popular hunting handgun and is usually pictured with a scope mounted.

For more dangerous game, like black bear, the .44 Magnum has the take down power, as does the .445 SuperMag. Black bears can hit speeds of 35 mph, and they can reach weights of up to 500 pounds. Going into the brush in search of the Ursus Americanus requires you to be properly armed with a round that will drop the beast.

Kimber Manufacturing specializes in handguns in the1911 platform, guns that have become popular with

Kimber Manufacturing specializes in handguns in the1911 platform, guns that have become popular with America’s Olympic shooting team as well as law enforcement agencies and Special Operations Command. Founded in 1979 in Oregon, Kimber was first known for its solid .22 rifles. But soon, the company started producing the pistols for which it is known.

The Aegis is a 1911 pistol that is chambered for the 9mm Luger. The ultra Aegis II is the subcompact model. There is also the compact Pro Aegis II, and a full-sized model called the Custom Aegis II. Kimber refined the Aegis to be more concealable by making the grips thinner and cutting back on long-held favorite 1911 characteristics like its hammer spur. Further efforts to make the gun more sleek include filing down the thumb safety and the magazine release. There are no sharp edges to the Aegis, which makes it more comfortable to carry and draw. The Kimber Aegis is an attractive gun, with its wood grips, nickel frame and matte-black slide.

Bob Boyd mentioned in his article on the Kiber Pro Aegis II that the gun is “far from a run-of-the-mill 1911.” The Kimber has a four-inch barrel with standard-sized (length) grips. The only difference with the grips on the subcompact is the circumference is smaller due to a thinner rosewood panel on either side. The look might seem imbalanced, but is actually perfectly balanced for shooting.

Kimber says the Pro II model is built for people with “small hands and who prefer light recoil.” The Pro II is built in the custom shop with a “Carry Melt” treatment that rounds out all the edges. The finish is self-lubricating (KimPro II finish) and resistant to moisture. The Pro II also employs a match-grade trigger with a pull weight between four and five pounds.

Kimber’s lowered and flared ejection port is designed into the Pro II, as are a polished breech face that assists in ejection and feeding. The gun weighs 28 ounces, unloaded, and has a nine-round clip capacity. Its total length is right at 7.7 inches.

Bravo Company USA produced excellent parts and accessories for the AR15 and M4 tactical rifles for years. The offshoot of that company, Bravo Company Manufacturing, is producing excellent arms like the BCM Recce-14 5.56 NATO.

The Recce-14, according to a review in Tactical-Life, is of professional grade weaponry. BCM employs a mid-length gas system that helps to bring the gas pressure down. By moving the gas port on the 16-inch barrel forward to a position that one would normally find on a 20-inch barrel, helps bring the gun to more military-grade configuration.

According to the Tactical-Life review, all BCM parts will meet or exceed the standards of military specifications. This includes the barrel steel, receiver extensions, gas keys, and bolts. The bolts and barrels are tested to meet the M197 load, which is an extremely hard-hitting load associated with aviation-grade rounds.

The testing of the BCM materials includes a magnetic particle inspection that will show any flaws in the metal.

The Recce-14 uses a 14.5 inch barrel with 1:7 rifling. There is also a BCM Recce-16, which of course, uses a 16-inch barrel. Everything about the guns is military-grade, except for the fact that they are semi-auto instead of burst or full-auto. The guns used a Troy TRX Battlerail system that covers the gas block completely. The lower rail can handle any number of accessories as can the flattop rail. The bolt is shot peened, HPT tested, and MPI inspected. The receivers are machined from aluminum forgings, the gas key is chrome lined.

According to the BCM website, the Recce-14 has a permanently mounted PWS FSC556 compensator. It has an M4 feed ramp, flat top receiver and barrel extension, a T0marked upper receiver, and independent certified military spec 11595E barrel steel. The 5.56 NATO M4 is also able to take .223 caliber Remington commercial rounds. The butt stock has six positions, and the front rail can take a front grip as well as other accessories.

Outlaw Bidder is a federally licensed firearm dealer that sells its guns in auctions online. Keep an eye on the site for the Recce-14 and any number of other tactical M4, AR15, or sniper-style rifles, as well as shotguns, and a slew of handguns. Confused on what gun will fit your fancy?

Say what you will about the look of a Glock, but few can deny the outstanding performance of these pistols. Probably due to its popularity with law enforcement agencies all over the U.S., the Glock 17 is the best selling in the Glock line.

Some, including this reviewer, believe the Glock 17 is the best gun for people with large hands, due to the full-sized dimensions of the 17. Another perk for the large size of the gun is that its clip can hold 17 rounds. Of course, larger clips are available that extend beyond the base of the grip, but they aren’t the most practical.

Like other Glocks, the 17 is engineered to offer a firing process that is relatively smooth. Its 9mm round that won’t offer a lot of recoil, and less recoil equates to tighter groupings when the shooting gets fast.

The Glock 17 isn’t picky about what ammo you send down its barrel. Unlike other guns, almost any load will take a similar trajectory down the range. It will fire hot, too. People have documented their 1,000-round tests with the Glock and prove that it won’t misfire even as it becomes smoking hot.

Youtube is full of videos of gun enthusiasts burying their Glocks for a year in the yard by the side of their homes, and then firing it without fail, or submersing it in a murky swamp and cycling a magazine flawlessly through it. This leads to the reliability factor of a Glock. It has been tested again and again and put through improbable extremities that result in the Glock performing every time. And because the Glock 17 is also popular with law enforcement in countries outside of the U.S., it’s undergone a global testing routine.

With the generation 4 edition of the Glock 17, more grip add-ons are available to help conform to the palms of different shooters. It keeps its rail under the barrel for lights and lasers, and it has a dual recoil spring. The generation 4 Glock 17 also has a slightly different magazine release than the previous models.

Look for the Glock 17 at Outlaw Bidder, our penny auction site could be your one-stop shop for guns and accessories.
Stag Arms Model 6 Super Varminter Rifle is an AR15-style marketed toward hunters. Due to the accurac

Stag Arms Model 6 Super Varminter Rifle is an AR15-style marketed toward hunters. Due to the accuracy of this gun, it won’t be hard to sell hunters on it, even those who aren’t enamored with the AR platform.

As this review notes, the company is a fairly new provider of AR-style guns having only been in the scene since 2003. They fell into quick favor with left-handed shooters as they developed a lefty AR-style platform. But they’ve developed a manufacturing process that is efficient and focused on quality. Stag gets its parts through parent company Continental Machine and Took, which has been producing AR-style parts for four decades.

The manufacturing process has helped produce a fine gun in the Varminter, on which Stag places a ½ MOA guarantee. Stag isn’t afraid to put some weight behind this rifle – at 9.7 pounds without a scope and unloaded, it’s a heavy-duty gun that helps absorb recoil and keep the muzzle from rising.

The Varminter is chambered for 5.56 NATO (though it will shoot commercial .223 ammo) and has a stainless steel, free-floating, 24-inch barrel. A sound suppressor attached to the end of the barrel gives it a few more inches that can result in more fine-tuned accuracy. For those in the prairie dog fields, the suppressor also helps reduce the chance of spooking the little critters. Using a 1:8 twist rate in the rifling, the Varminter is able to utilize heavy-grained loads of up to 77 for long-range use. One review notes consistent accuracy at 500-plus yards.

The hand guard is aluminum as is the flattop receiver, on which you can mount scopes and other optics. This gun is made to reach out and touch targets at long-range, so tactical optics, such as red dot sights or reflex sights will probably not be popular fits for this gun.

One review of the gun took an off-the-shelf Varminter, fed with inexpensive ammunition, and delivered three shots within a ½ MOA at 100 yards. Using different grains of ammo and of different quality, the shooter was able to replicate the ½ MOA grouping time and time again.

Outlaw Bidder is equipped with a federal firearms license and can carry the Varminter and many other tactical and hunting weapons that are popular today. Not sure which gun is right for you? Check out Outlaw Bidder where you’ll find many product descriptions and articles handguns, scopes, tactical rifles, even tactical .22 rifles that are hot on the market today.

The American Rifleman gave high marks to the striker-fired single-action Kimber solo – they made it their handgun of the year for 2012.

Marketed toward the conceal-carry crowd, the Kimber Solo is all metal, aside from the composite grip plates. It has some of the popular features of the legendary 1911, including its ergonomics and “natural pointability, “ as Gun Digest highlights.

The Kimber Solo is the culmination of years of work toward improving a concealable 9mm. And concealable it is, reaching 3.9 inches tall, 5.5 inches long, and barely less than one inch thick. And despite its all aluminum frame and a 2.7-inch stainless steel barrel and slide, the Kimber Solo weighs-in at only 17 ounces.

The chambering device is fairly standard for a semi-auto weapon, but its just made smaller for better concealment. But what is different about the Kimber that you won’t find with other handguns in its class is the trigger system. The striker-fired single-action employs no pivoting hammer. Kimber engineered the striker to conserve on space in the action.

Gun enthusiasts are immediately attracted to the design of the Kimber Solo with its nod toward the 1911-checkered grips, as well as the exaggerated tang pocket and a couple of 1911’s safety features. Its sleek, all-metal design in either black anodized or silver finish elicits a second look from the enamored gun enthusiast. Part of that attraction can be blamed on the patented KimPro II finish, which is self-lubricating and resistant to moisture and salt. While some make comparisons to the M1911, others believe it resembles the small Colt 1903 or 1908.

Kimber prefers that its customers use only premium quality ammo in the Solo, with heavy bullets at 124 grains or better. The only perceivable drawback to the Kimber Solo is that it is recommended that the recoil spring be changed out after every 1,000 rounds. Aside from a trigger pull weight of seven pounds, there isn’t much else to complain about with this gun.

Retailing for around $750, the Kimber Solo comes in fixed front and rear, three-dot, and dovetail mounted sights.

Outlaw Bidder, is adept in finding quality weapons like the Kimber for its online auctions. Unique to some of the other penny auction sites, Outlaw Bidder has a federal firearms license and a site full of information where shoppers can bone-up on the latest and greatest in tactical rifles and shotguns, legendary pistols, and accessories.

The traditional view of a good sniper rifle or prairie varmint gun is that of the bolt-action variet

The traditional view of a good sniper rifle or prairie varmint gun is that of the bolt-action variety. Rock River Arms is helping to change that image with its AR-style rifle that law enforcement are starting to rely upon as their primary sharpshooter weapon of choice.

ARs aren’t just for tactical play – they’re finding their way into the field on hunting expeditions, as well as competition shoots and home defense. Outdoor Life’s recent review of the Rock River Arms Varmint A4 said the gun has “prairie dogs quaking in their burrow.”

The AR isn’t quite to the point where safari guides are recommending them for big game, but ARs like Rock River Arms’ offering is proving to be a reliable choice for their accuracy and ability to place multiple rounds in a tight grouping in a matter of seconds.

Those who find ARs to be too bulky and uncomfortable to carry will likely be pleased with the Varmint A4 that Rock River Arms has dressed down for the field. The A4 employs engineering that is proven to increase accuracy, including using a free-floating barrel, and a barrel that is both high quality and heavy, which is proven to improve performance.

If its weight that makes a gun more accurate, the A4 has it. While other ARs might come in around seven to eight pounds, the A4 is tipping the scales at around 10 pounds. A good portion of that weight is in the 24-inch barrel, which is crafted out of stainless steel. It also gives the rifle weight-forward balance, which reduces muzzle rise and keeps the sights on target. While the weight-forward feel could be considered a drawback in the standing position, the A4 is actually meant to be fired from its bipod attached to the handguard.

Rock River Arms uses quality parts at a retail price that surprises some reviewers. Perhaps this attention to quality is why the gun is able to deliver shots within one-inch groups at 100 yards. Shooters attest that while taking shots at long targets, the recoil is dampened enough that they are able to see their shots land on target, time and time again.

Outlaw Bidder has an array of weaponry up for auction, including varmint guns like the A4. Their site also offers information on various weapons, such as .22 Uzi semi-autos, to Desert Eagle handguns.

Players, if they aren’t watching their bids, can pay more in bids than what the product they are trying to win can be bought at retail price for. While the clock might click down to zero with the final price at $32 on a product worth $500, the game only works for the auction site if consumers bought and played enough bids to cover the cost, and then some, of the product up for auction.

Consumers who don’t pay wisely are crying foul. Better Business Bureaus, in the wake of a rise in the popularity of these penny auction sites, are fielding a new variety of complaints from consumers.

But sometimes, it’s the unscrupulous developers who have established sites that aren’t on the up-and-up. Last year in Atlanta, a consumer protections group announced that a penny auction site that had failed on many occasions to send the products to auction winners, agreed in a settlement to cease operations and refund up to $200,000 back to consumers as restitution.

Any smart consumer won’t enter into a penny auction without having done their research on the sites at which they plan on bidding, and they won’t enter into auctions without knowledge of their own budget and what they can afford to invest on any given auction.

Doing a simple Google search will turn up articles like these that can help point you in the right direction on how to bid successfully. But those who are new to the penny auction arena can trust Outlaw Bidder for their weaponry needs.

Outlaw Bidder, actually gives a portion of its profits to charities. It’s credibility is under the close watch of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives as Outlaw Bidder is the only penny auction site with a federal firearms license and must maintain strict records of its business proceedings. The site offers its own brand of advice on how to be successful at penny auctions. They also give advice on a variety of rifles and handguns, from the legendary 1911 to the tactical shotguns.

FunBidders is your number one source for exciting auction shopping and absolutely unbelievable deals on brand new, brand name products, every day!

FunBidders offers an easy and thrilling innovation on online shopping called penny auctions where you can get thousands of dollars of items at up to 94% off MSRP. The savings are built into the system so you can take advantage of them again and again. We help you even further with regular bonuses and incentives shared on our blog, twitter stream, and Facebook page. FunBidders’ greatest delight is when you win and save, so jump in and join the community.

FunBidders is NOT Gambling

Many people are misinformed about penny auction sites like FunBidders and consider it a form of gambling. That could not be further from the truth. We are a fun and exciting way for consumers to get a bargain on high quality consumer goods.
We’d like to take a few minutes now to explain exactly what separates us from online poker and gambling sites.

Skill and strategy are required in order to win an auction – When you gamble, you are playing a game of chance set up in favor of the house. That’s why casinos can continue to make money even if they have some big winners. In fact, casinos do everything they can to eliminate any skills-based winning. This is why card counters are ejected from blackjack tables. FunBidders is different. Our users develop strategies that work for them again and again. That’s why most people tend to win more auctions over time. It’s not a matter of luck; it’s a matter of finding the right skill set that works for you. Coming to FunBidders is not like playing a hand of poker. It’s much more similar to learning how to master the game of chess.

FunBidders does not employ any special rules or strategies that “favor the house” in their Auctions – Instead, the only variables are of other customers taking part in the auction. When you are bidding against a less experienced member, a seasoned FunBidders customer will certainly have the upper hand.

Real gambling depends on the inclusion of a random element that is beyond the control of any of the players – That’s why most casino games involve dice, cards or spinning wheels – all of which add an exterior random element to the game. No such element is included in any FunBidders auction. Instead it is more like a sporting event, with people competing against each other on a level playing field.

FunBidders can be best compared to traditional offline auctions – When any major auction house stages an auction, they insist that anyone who wants to participate pay an entrance fee. They do so to make sure that only serious bidders participate in the auction process. They also allow the auction to last as long as people are willing to continue bidding, exactly like we do at FunBidders. This type of auction system has been used for centuries because it creates a fair competitive environment. Without membership fees or extended time limits, auctions would become similar to a sweepstakes or lottery. Because only qualified paid members can participate and the auction is allowed to continue indefinitely, the element of chance has been eliminated and replaced by dedication and skill. FunBidders is set up so that our system is compliant with federal, state, and local laws.

Legally, penny auctions are considered part of the American competitive tradition – A team of legal researchers have determined what exactly constitutes gambling from a legal standpoint. Instead of quoting their legalese, we’d like to summarize it in plain English: To be considered gambling, winning must be based on chance. While there is an element of chance in any activity, as long as skill is the primary method of winning, then it is not gambling. In fact, courts have ruled that skill-based competitions, such as hole-in-one contests, basketball games and horseshoes are part of the great American tradition. They have also ruled that paying a membership fee in order to compete is no different than the entrance fees charged by every major auction house in the world.

We have a “Buy it Now” option that allows you to apply the bids you’ve used on an auction to discount the price of an item - In other words, your bids continue to retain value, and you can use ALL the bids on auctions you did not win to get a reduction in the retail price of the product. Just try that at a casino.

The product mix you choose to list on your site can drive traffic, convert browsers into customers,

The product mix you choose to list on your site can drive traffic, convert browsers into customers, encourage competition and be your greatest advertising tool….or it could be the opposite of all that. What you decide to list and when it’s listed/ending greatly impacts the success rate of an auction. New sites listing less auctions will want to post during peak hours. Starting with a few gift cards and one or two nicer items per night has worked well for us.

Product Mix

Choosing the latest and greatest items to hit the market seems like a sound strategy and usually works if you stick with it. On days we list iPads, iPhones, Kindles or any other Apple item, our sales are higher than normal. I’m not suggesting if you close an iPad daily you’re going to succeed. What I am suggesting is to list the right products for your user base. If you’re getting 20 page views a day and converting one of those into a customer, tossing an iPad into the mix isn’t going to bring in too many more users. Adding something like an iPod Shuffle may help conversions though.

Base your listings on your bid sales and traffic. The idea is to list some semi-attractive items around one attractive item. Sorting products by popularity on large sites like Amazon or Buy can tell you what items are popular at the current time. Try to find items that are on special or look more valuable than they are. You are extremely likely to take losses for a while. Think of these as advertising expenses. Be prepared for it.

Try to list as many penny auctions as your user base will support. As your base grows so can the number and quality of your penny auctions. $15-$25 gift cards are a great start with an item or two worth less than $20 thrown in.

Until next time.

The terms of service (TOS) document is the user’s guidelines and the site’s insurance policy. This document will inform users of their rights and detail how you will handle disputes. It will serve as an overall roadmap to acceptable behavior on the site. The TOS will be a living, breathing entity that will be revised, re-revised and then revised again. Even though the TOS will be ever evolving, the terms must be followed strictly. Whatever the TOS states at the time of an incident MUST BE FOLLOWED.

Hopefully you understand how important the TOS are to your site.

Without a doubt the TOS will be one of the most time consuming tasks when starting a penny auction site. If it’s not, you didn’t do it right or copied another site’s TOS. Borrowing, I use that term loosely, another site’s TOS can work and give you a framework to build within. These will still need to be revised to fit your site’s needs. Writing your own quickly will sink you. If a consumer feels cheated you can count on a chargeback in the penny auction business. If it’s not covered in the TOS, a consumer will feel cheated, yep, chargeback.

DOs:

Review other site’s TOS.

Spend the time to create a comprehensive TOS.

Evolve. Revise your TOS as new issues are brought to your attention.

Follow the TOS every time.

Listen to your users.

List win limits prominently.

DONTs

Allow users to influence your TOS in a negative way.

Go against your TOS. Don’t give a break to any user. It ruins the credibility of the TOS.

Confuse users with legal jargin. Make your TOS easy to understand.

Use your TOS as a sales tool. Don’t link to bid packages or use promotional language when writing your TOS.

Until next time,

Thankfully, using bots or shill bidders was never an issue for us. It was never discussed and everyone knew that if we were going to create a penny auction marketplace, it was going to be fair.

Unfortunately, bots and shill bidders exist in the penny auction arena. I’ve seen a site with traffic ranking around 20 US visitors a day closing auctions every 5 minutes. There were some gift cards and small items but they were closing auctions for laptops, iPads, HDTVs and other high-end goods. Most of these auctions were closing without winners and the 30-40 that had winners had different winners. With about 20 people a day visiting this site, this is suspect. Not surprisingly, this site was tagged as a scam site on the forums.

Another instance was an email conversation with a penny auction proprietor. A user posed as an interested buyer/investor. A series of email exchanges loosened up the site owner enough that he candidly boasted about running a site for months without shipping a single product. His bots had won all the auctions.

Small sites that use bots and shill bidders will drive customers away. Experienced penny auction participants will spot bots a mile a way. They will not hesitate to share their feelings with the penny auction community too. They also use tools like traffic stats and bidding patterns to ferret out scam sites.

Larger sites would be much more difficult to catch.

There’s little advice to give on the subject. New sites can be lucrative to penny auction bidders due to decreased competition but they are also more susceptible to illicit tactics. So be careful. Watch a site before buying bids, really watch. Take a few days to watch auctions close. Check the sentiment on penny auction forums.

Until next time,

Synopsis

This blog will detail the business and personal side of starting a penny auction site. I will post any information that seems relevant. I will do my best to answer any questions anyone has.

Backstory

My company held two top level domains for the penny auction industry. These were sold together. The purchaser was a busy home builder looking to diversify his revenue streams. After spending monies to develop and launch the site, he realized it wasn’t something he wanted to be invested in. The company I work for took the domains back and refunded the purchaser.

We weren’t new to auction or e-commerce sites but the penny auction concept is slightly different. We brought a lot of experience to the equation but the whole thing was kind of thrust upon us. Also, the domain names were our greatest asset as they were TOP level. The domains?

PennyAuction.com and PennyAuctions.com

Beginning

On or about December 10th, 2010, we were in the penny auction business.

So many decisions to make on Day 1. Too many to list here in this first post but I will address as many as possible over the life of this blog. Tonight I will address one of the most important questions.

Question # 1

Go big or start small?

I chose to start with this question because it was the most discussed issue we faced. Every person in the meetings had their own approach to the listing schedule.

The decision to list tons of auctions without bidders or list only a couple of auctions a day to build a following can break a company. If you don’t think so, you can review the list of failed penny auction sites that went belly up within their first 60 days. If you have serious capital, you have options. If you don’t have capital you will need to spend more time exploring your options.

My recommendation now? If you have capital I would suggest developing a “ramp up” schedule based on your marketing capabilities. Low on funds? Develop a penny auction related site and see if you can build traffic. If you can drive traffic you can move on to a penny auction site and still have value with the related site.

We decided to build a launch schedule based on our site development. There were many things we wanted done to the site prior to ramping up auctions. Currently we’re about 2 months in. We’re listing 4-5 auctions a day with 90% ending in a loss. We listed a lot of gift cards at first but progressed to electronics quickly. I will keep you updated on how everything works out.

I don’t want to make any of these too long so I’m going to cut this one off here soon. Below are some of the things I would like to discuss over the coming weeks.

Bots and shill bids. Complaints. Terms of use. Product mix. Merchant account for penny auction site. Forums. Social marketing. Paid marketing. Customer turnover. Auction scripts. Site functionality and user tools.

That should be enough to keep us busy a while.

Hello,

My name is Phillip Bennett. Welcome to my network marketing blog. I’m from Orlando Florida, and I’ve been involved in MLM for a total of 20 years. I’m now a member of MyBidShack Penny Auction, which is the most powerful, efficient, and effective network marketing business ever invented. But before I tell you about it, let me tell you how I ended up as a part of this groundbreaking new business.

I’m a 53 year old auto-mechanic, turning wrenches for 35 years. Don’t get me wrong, this industry has been kind , allowing me to put food on the table and paying my bills. Yet so far I haven’t been able to save a dime. I have been looking for the past 20 years for a solution to supplement my small income. I joined Amway, Kare, sold phone cards for MLM, played the domain game, dropshipping for profit and even ebay. But I am still at the same starting point. Then came along MyBidShack Penny Auction, putting together multiple streams of income in one neat package. I wished I had this Penny Auction System years ago, before I shelled out those thousands of dollars. Only now have I started dreaming again with a new kind of excitement. Even though I have barely slept in 28 days, going over this system and getting it set up, I feel wonderful. Maybe now I would be able to take that long awaited vacation and finally hang up my wrenches..

So that’s my journey through the world of MLM. Its been challenging and rewarding, but I’ve learned so much and I’m excited to now be apart of the best system in the industry, MyBidShack Penny Auction. Please check back for the next entry in my blog.

One of the greatest parts about this system is that the Registration is absolutely 100% FREE! Check out the site here to find out more:

Can you imagine sharing a piece of the profits of the major Penny Auction sites? Websites like Swoop

Can you imagine sharing a piece of the profits of the major Penny Auction sites? Websites like Swoopo, Beezid, Bidray and others letting you share in their enormous profits? Here is what PennyAuctionWatch.com had to say. “Swoopo [the largest Penny Auction site] made a profit on revenue of $32 million just last year. Swoopo came to the US in September of last year and they’ve been around since 2005 in the European market. They have over 2 million members on their US site…and an Alexa traffic ranking (8,124) that I’m sure many penny auction/e-business owners would covet!”

Have you ever stopped to wonder how these major Penny Auction websites make all their money and are build their success? They have no need for flashy, expensive advertising. They don’t need it because people are actually coming to these sites and having fun and are sharing this information with people they know.

The prestigious business website Forbes.com said recently “On-line auctioning is hot. … It’s competitive shopping, and Web users are a competitive bunch.”

The penny auction is not a regular auction. As a matter of fact people regularly are getting from 65% to 95% off the retail price. The name penny auction comes from the fact that the bid starts at one penny, and moves up one penny at a time. When a bid is placed, an additional 10 to 30 seconds is added to the bid timer. Penny auctions are new and are all the rage in Europe right now. They are virtually unknown in America at this point. We are introducing it and allowing you the opportunity to earn from the enormous profits being generated.

GoGoHub, the leader in Local Online Classified Advertising is introducing a NEW “penny auction concept.” Everyone who buys a bidpack on their new penny auction site called MyBidShack, has a share or Piece of the Profits. Everyone who sponsors another person and they purchase a bidpack will get extra Pieces of the Profits. A portion of that money goes into a big pool every month. And everyone, will get their share of the pool! There’s even a level that will allow you to make as much as $100,000 a month over and over, as many times as you choose.

This can mean real, life-changing money to you and your family. With GoGoHub, your success is not taken lightly, and they welcome you to the next phase of their Internet Revolution, My Bid Shack Penny Auction. www.pab.mybidshack.com
