As a “Nikon Girl” and photo geek, this is probably the funniest thing I’ve seen in a long, long time. I’m sure any photographer would agree–the Nikon vs Canon divide really isn’t that different than the Montague vs Capulet divide. I’m so loyal to Nikon, and not really by choice. It’s true, his 70-200 lens really wouldn’t fit in my Nikon body (ha, ha). I really wish we could all just learn to share. How nice would it be if we lived in a world where his 70-200 telephoto lens could fit into any body–Nikon or Canon (or hell, maybe even Pentax). It would certainly make life a lot easier. I’d be able to share lenses with all of my friends, and I’d forget about this devastating divide. We’d all just be one friendly photographic family.

I came across the Pentax K-x last week and thought it was worth a mention.  Not only is it packed with some nice features such as a 12megapixal sensor, but it also shoots 720p video, a feature being seen on more DSLR bodies.  What really made this camera stand out was the bright Red finish.  Yeah, maybe I am a little geeky for liking this, but I think the camera looks sharp.  In fact I would love to get one of these in my hands for some real world testing.  Unfortunately it looks like only the kit lens 18-55mm comes in the matching red finish, leaving you to fill in with normal black for the rest of your zoom range.  The kit is also available in navy, black and white.
