ME!!! After weeks of my friends, family and fans voting for me and promoting myself and grinding extremely hard for the last year, I won the Boston Music Award for R&B act of the year. I had really tough competition including my brother Louie and I was honestly just excited to be amongst him and the other nominees like Lee Wilson, Jesse Dee and Masspike Miles. Right now I am  filled with so many intense emotions about this it is pretty overwhelming. My dad gave up the opportunity to tour the world when my mother became pregnant with my brother many years ago and if he could go back he would still make the same choice, to stay with my mom. Because of this, he looks to us to fulfill his unfinished dream and I see myself doing that for him in the near future which is unbelievable. I have so many people to thank and you know who you are but most importantly my friends and family and fans and especially my street team……We have only just begun

Meredith Baxter, who starred on the successful television series “Family Ties” became Mario’s target on Tuesday of this week when he posted photos of Meredith with her girlfriend Nancy.

This is nothing new for Mario, he forced Neil Patrick Harris and Lance Bass to out themselves as well.

nd now Meredith was forced to publicly announced her sexuality because the rag-gossip media cannot be controlled, yet.

“I am a lesbian and it was a later-in-life recognition,” she told Matt Lauer on TODAY.  “Some people would say, well, you’re living a lie and, you know, the truth is – not at all.  This has only been for the past seven years.”

Meredith who is 62, was not ready to do this, and yet was forced because of the public tabloid chatter.   “I’ve always lived a very private life,” said the actress, who’s never even had a publicist.

“I did not want some tabloid to take the story and make it up — I wanted it to be in my own words,” she told Lauer.

Meredith has now had to explain her relationship with men, which says was complicated and took her decades to understand why.

In 1966 she married her first husband, Robert Lewis Bush, and they divorced five years later; she married her second husband David Birney in 1974, and they divorced in 1989; she married her third husband, Michael Blodgett, in 1995, and they divorced in 2000.

She explained that she deliberately chose to be with men with whom she clashed, so that she could blame them for the end of the relationship.“It never occurred to me to think, oh, [the problem is] me,”she said.

Then, seven years ago, she had a relationship with a woman and concluded that she was homosexual.  Suddenly, things seemed to make sense.

“I got involved with someone I never expected to get involved with, and it was that kind of awakening,” she said. “I never fought it because it was like, oh, I understand why I had the issues I had early in life. I had a great deal of difficulty connecting with men in relationships.”

Meredith has been with her girlfriend, Nancy, a contractor who she met through mutual friends, for the past four years.  Because Nancy is openly lesbian, their relationship has not been kept a closely guarded secret.

“I had to reach a level of comfort because it wasn’t fair to push her back into secrecy,” she said. “We live very out lives in Los Angeles.”

When “Family Ties” ended, Meredith went on to direct and star in several TV movies, winning a daytime Emmy award in 1993 for portraying a lesbian mom in the CBS School Break Special, “Other Mothers.”

These days, she’s taken on a few roles, including promoting her skin care line,Meredith Baxter Simple Works.

She is also a public speaker and advocate, traveling the country discussing her personal battles with breast cancer and alcoholism.

Now that she is coming out, she also sees herself as an advocate for gay rights.

“This is a political act, even though that’s not what it feels like to me,” she said. “If anyone knows someone who’s gay or lesbian … they’re less likely to vote against them to take away their rights. I can be that lesbian you know now…”

Meredith, who starred as Michael J. Fox’s mother on the hit ’80s television show, confirmed the news to Matt Lauer on Wednesday’s “Today.”

I guess I wanted to… say that I’m a lesbian,” Meredith revealed on the NBC morning program. “It was a later-in-life recognition of that fact.”

Meredith, 62, has been living life as a lesbian for seven years and confirmed to Matt that she has been involved in a relationship for four years with contractor Nancy Locke. But it was only after becoming involved with another woman that Meredith realized why her three marriages to men didn’t work out.

I got involved with someone I never expected to get involved with and it was that kind of awakening and I never fought it because it was like, ‘Oh! I understand why I had the issues I had early in my life,’” Meredith said. “I had a great deal of difficulty connecting with men in relationships… Sometimes, I assumed I was a bad picker, which I was indeed, but I also was involved with people who made me think, ‘Oh, they’re the problem,’ because there were problems with the people I chose. It never occurred to me to think, ‘Oh, it’s me.’”

Meredith told Matt that sharing the news of her sexuality with her children, who range in age 25-42, was a lot easier than she expected.

The actress also revealed that her television family co-stars are aware she is gay.

“All my pals in ‘Family Ties’ know,” she said. “They all knew [when we had a reunion on 'Today' two years ago]. We all had dinners together and [TV husband], Michael Gross and his wife and Nancy and I go out, we’ve gone out many times. It’s all OK.”

Meredith said she and Nancy “live very out lives in Los Angeles” and the actress even went on a cruise with 1,200 lesbians not too long ago. But as for why she is speaking out now, Meredith said, in part, it was to share her story in her own words before a tabloid could put their spin on her life.

The idea was simple: Set up a bar to attract gay men and then use it to distribute information on AIDS/HIV prevention.

The media loved the idea – but all the attention kept the gay men away.

“They (gay men) refused to show up at the opening for fear of media exposure and potential discrimination,” said Zhang Jianbo, the bar’s founder and a local AIDS doctor in Dali, Yunnan province.

The bar, partially funded by the Dali Health Bureau in collaboration with two local anti-AIDS NGOs that Zhang heads, was meant to facilitate outreach efforts targeting groups facing a high HIV risk, particularly gay men.

Its opening was set for yesterday, World AIDS Day.

Zhang said intense media attention surprised him a lot.

“Had I known it, I would not have told the media,” he said.

Though there are gay bars in major cities in China, which experts estimate has 30 million homosexuals, including 20 million gay men, the one in Dali was dubbed “China’s first government-funded bar for AIDS control” and instantly got widespread media coverage.

“It’s understandable,” said Luke Zhao, executive editor of Beijing-based Gay Spot magazine. “Factors like government endorsement and support, gay men, HIV/AIDS, naturally made the gay bar so attractive to the press and the general public,” he told China Daily yesterday.

“As a long-term medical worker in HIV/AIDS prevention and control, I know how hard it is for us to reach these groups to promote self-protection messages like safe sex,” Zhang said.

He managed to establish contacts with more than 1,500 local gay men.

“To sustain and build more of that, I thought of opening a bar for regular get-togethers with them,” Zhang said.

“We could teach them about HIV/AIDS and how to protect themselves from it,” he said.

Now no one knows what will happen to a bar with no visitors or even a name.

“But it is at least a good signal that the government is beginning to pay attention to gay people as a vulnerable group facing HIV/AIDS and their health,” Zhao said.

The HIV/AIDS prevalence among gay men averages 6 percent in the country and same-sex transmission accounted for about one-third of new HIV infections last year, official tallies showed.

Miss California - Carrie Prejean

So by now everyone has heard about the Perez Hilton/Carrie Prejean scandal.  There are three issues at work here.

1. Asking the question.
2. The answer.
3. The response to the answer.

Firstly, asking this question.  Let’s say Perez Hilton asked this “what are your personal beliefs on abortion?”  I think we would all agree that question is in appropriate.  Simularly, asking if same sex marriage should be legalized in all 50 states is also a very polorizing, highly opinion based question.  If I was Miss CA, I would have smiled, waived, and said “world peace.”

Second, the answer was actually pretty good.  She said she loves that we live in a land where people can choose.  Ok, I guess people can sort of choose because they could move to one of the states that allow same sex marriage… I do agree that same sex couples really don’t have much of a right to choose right now.  I personally think that’s a shame as we live in a country that really is supposed to be free.  Please see my previous posts on same sex marriage. So granted, that part of the answer was not spot on since the freedom for same sex couples is pretty limited right now.  None the less, she at least aknowledged that there are some options.

Then, since it was an opinion question, she gave her opinion: that marriage in her opinion was between a

man and a woman.  She did even say “I don’t want to offend anyone out there.”  She did not say anything negative about homosexual people, for all we know she has many homosexual friends.  She just commented on her personal opinion regarding marriage (which is the same opinion of Barack Obama, by the way) as she was requested to do.  I don’t see any fault there.

Thirdly the response.  This is where everyone finally is beginning to see what I have been saying for years.  Perez Hilton is nuts, crude, rude, and worse for society than MTV (and that’s saying a lot).  KEEP IN MIND, MY OPINION OF PEREZ HILTON HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH HIS SEXUAL ORIENTATION.  If he was straight, or asexual I would think exactly the same of him.  He’s a blog version of the worst types of tabloid magazine.  I think his site is a plague on culture in the same way celebrity magazines are, and in the same way MTV is.  His actions are not shocking to me at all, unfortunately.

I say this – for every minute that people want to spend reading tabloid blogs or magazines, remember the people who are dying of thirst in other countries and spend some time thinking about them, perhaps donating some money.  I’m telling you, these celebrities are a terrible distraction from very significant things that are happening in the world.  Real people need our help.

JLo falls onstage...then pops up and keeps it moving

Last night,Dick Clark and ABC television hosted the annual American Music Awards, where all kind of crazy and cool happenings went on,and Lady Gaga and Adam Lambert still stood out.

I like it how every year some new act feels the need to shock and push the limits of the public morals to the breaking point, and this year the winner for that category is Adam Lambert.

Adam,the runner-up for last seasons American Idol competition,decided to out do Katy Perry who kissed a girl, or at least had a hit record about it, by kissing a guy on stage.

And, as if that was not enough to get his point across, he then grabbed a male dancer, and had him kiss,…or do something like that, to his crotch. Many guys have done this on stage before,except with women.

I think the best one was that awards show on Spike TV hosted by Jamie Foxx,when he grabbed Halle Berry’s nice behind and laid a good kiss on her…remember that.

 La Reina del Sur (2002)

En “La Reina del Sur”, este autor nos muestra, con la maestría que acostumbra, que sus exploraciones de la realidad pueden convertirse en la ficción más sorprendente. Que sólo alguien como él puede crear un personaje literario que trasciende esa realidad para convertirse en héroe. Pero esta vez el héroe es una mujer: Teresa Mendoza. Una mujer sola que crea un imperio de la nada en un mundo de hombres duros, el del narcotráfico. La película se comenzó a rodar en 2009 pero el realizador Jonathan Jakubowicz renunció al proyecto de llevar al cine esta novela como consecuencia de la situación de violencia que impera en algunos puntos de México.

I’ve never liked the bitch and this is the final nail in the coffin. It seems like lately my blog is turning into spewing hate on awful wannabe celebrities. I didn’t intend for it to be that way but its turning out to be such because of how terrible some self appointed celebrities are.

Her disgusting hooker outfit and gravelly voiced screaming should be enough to make anyone cringe. Then she decides she wants to strip.

She banned 1000 users for speaking their mind and telling her that she’s an idiot. If you can’t fight em, block em, I guess. She’s obviously not one who has a way with words. She calls anyone who stands up to her a pussy, but she’s being one herself for blocking people so shamelessly for calling her out on her ridiculous behavior.

She thinks she’s a singer! But then again, what young Filipina girl doesn’t? I saw her supposed “music” myspace years ago and her music is ridiculous.

She claims toward the beginning of the video that her “hood” growing up was so hard to live in. Yeah, poor Tila. I’m sure Daly City was real hard to deal with. Wannabe stripper. I hate ever commenting on anything remotely racist, because I am not and never have been racist, but the Filipino culture has a well known stereotype for stealing others’ personas and cultures, whether it be ghetto, preppy, or what have you. She’s just another addition to that stereotype.

I could go on and on with reasons to hate her, from her over publicized “bisexuality” to her claiming to be a singer and entertainer, to the world of fame excess and trash she lives in, to the biggest question of all, WHO TOLD THIS BITCH SHE WAS FAMOUS?

I don’t see why I or anyone else should even care about Tila Tequila. She’s worthless and she needs to take that gun of hers and blow her brains out. She is a disgusting excuse for a human being.

If this alien-headed gravelly voiced midget spray-tanned surgically enhanced bitch thinks she’s a worthy human being she deserves to get knocked upside the head again to beat some sense into her. Good riddance if she dies young. Peace. Love Nico

El sueño de Carod es hacer del español un idioma de minorías. No es casual, que ya zonas no tan limítrofes con cataluña se quieran acoger a la influencia idiomática catalana para gozar de unos presupuestos sensiblemente más abultados, como ya está ocurriendo en municipios aragoneses, que se ven tentados a plegarse al catalán para recibir nuevos presupuestos, ayudas para el catalán, más dinero para la escuela, un negocio de rótulos para el cuñado del alcalde, y la protección de una mafia institucional que trae negocio y se lleva tu alma. Pérez Díaz “Carod” es un enemigo político real. Un catalán de chichinabo, pero un enemigo real. Lo mismo que Otegui, el día que decida escenificar el rechazo a la violencia. Ambos gustan, por cierto, de rodearse de terroristas.

Diego Perez, vocalist for Las Vegas progressive hardcore band Eyes Like Diamonds, winds up in jail:
“Expired plates ended up turning into Diego getting locked up. Hawthorne nevada sheriffs are completely in the wrong and we have footage to prove it! we will have this up as soon as we get home. We need anyone and everyones help to put together bail out money. We will post a paypal button accepting donations even its only 2 dollars. we’re extremely bummed and will do everything in our power to make it to oregon. updates soon.”
I’m sure this isn’t going to help with funding their recordings in Oregon, but I’m sure they’ll figure out something!
