The Football Conference Limited issues the following statement in relation to Chester City FC, as of 3rd December 2009….

The Football Conference and the Football League have been working together to reach a decision over the release of discretionary payments in favour of Chester City FC, thereby retaining the integrity of both competitions and enabling legal undertakings and orders were met by the Club. As part of a commitment made by Chester City FC towards settling these matters, Chester City FC agreed to make up any potential shortfall between the funding due and football creditors. The Club has, therefore, lodged a payment of £36,600 with the Football Conference. Upon clearance of such payment and release of that funding, the threat of expulsion from membership will be withdrawn.

Brian Lee, Chairman of the Football Conference states: “Together with my fellow Directors and staff at the Football Conference; and with our other football partners, particularly the Football League and the PFA, everyone has worked tirelessly to save Chester City FC from expulsion. The Club’s recent history should send a warning signal to every club. He added: “In anticipation a satisfactory conclusion will be reached, we are hopeful those who have supported the club through such difficult times, especially the fans on the terraces, appreciate the position we as a competition faced in dealing with this situation. We wish all those currently connected with Chester City FC will ensure the club deal promptly with all matters of financial prudence in the future and our combined efforts will not have been in vain.”

Bookmakers have suspended betting on City’s match against Eastbourne tomorrow after news leaked that Chester may have to field a weakened team. Rumours have been circling that Chester City players have refused to play over a pay row, whilst these reports are not confirmed, it has lead bookmakers to suspend betting on the fixture as word spread on a number of forums.

The news has spread fast with many fans in the know lumping on Eastbourne Borough to win at a handsome price of 2/1. Even Chester City fans on the Deva Chat forum have got involved as well as punters around the world on the OLBG forum. It echoes similarities to Weymouth last season when the they could not afford to pay the players wages. The players then left and found other clubs leaving the club to field a youth side which subsequently lead to heavy defeats.

Latest figures on BetFair show that £31,000 has been traded on the Chester City Vs Eastbourne match compared to the £833 traded on Ebbsfleet United Vs Mansfield Town. It is thought that up to £2 million may have been gambled on this fixture through the many internet websites and high-street bookmaker shops. The crunch deadline for Chester City to pay their football debts is now just three days away with worried fans no nearer to knowing the club’s fate.

Worse than that, they are being kept in the dark. Despite repeated efforts from the media, no-one was able to to contact anyone at the club to confirm whether or not the outstanding money will be paid. And as D-day approaches, there are real fears the Blues will now be thrown out of the Football Conference.

Fans’ groups, other clubs, officials from the Football League and Conference plus the PFA were all willing to discuss the club’s crisis. But City officials wouldn’t answer the phone – or even come to the door when reporters called at the Deva Stadium.

I’ve thought of doing this for a while, but really I haven’t had anything interesting to write about. Over the last few days, however, I’ve been spamming facebook with links to and commentary about current events. I think I can find a better soapbox here. Hopefully, that’s gonna be the interesting part. The rest of the posts here will be a little more self serving.

I’m a sophomore cadet in Air Force ROTC. Five days ago, I had a conversation with the Commandant of Cadets, who said in very nice terms that while my test scores and ROTC performance were good, I stood no chance of being selected to continue into the upperclass years if I did not improve my Physical Fitness Assessment (PFA) scores. My most recent score was 69/100. I need 75/100 to be even considered, and 80 to be more competetive. Basically, the gist of the conversation was “Run, Fat Boy, Run!”, which will remain the title of the blog until I pass the PFA or a better name is proposed.

After the meeting, I resolved to begin working out every day. I haven’t hit the track or the gym once since then. Lack of motivation? Yes.

So, as egocentric as it sounds, I’m going to be writing periodic posts about my workouts, results, improvements, and the like. For those uninitiated, the PFA consists of a 1.5 mile run, 1 minute of pushups, 1 of situps, and a body composition score (basically a measurement of your gut). My most recent score was 12:45 run, 35 situps, 8 (cringe) pushups. The most obvious area for improvement is the pushups, because the score scale slides. 20 pushups would get me 7 points out of 10 available, and after that each pushup is only worth like .2 points or less.

So, the journey begins tomorrow, with a 5 mile run interspersed with flutter kicks, pushups, and crunches. I’ve got six weeks before the next PFA, which, I am told, stands for Pure Fun Awesomeness. Wish me luck.

Pentru ca primesc destul de multe intrebari in particular (inclusiv pe mail, de la cititori ai blogului) legate de posibilitatile de a face o munca suplimentar, pe langa serviciu, pentru ceva bani in plus, m-am gandit sa incep prin a va oferi cateva sfaturi legate de modul in care intram in legalitate si obtinem autorizari de functionare, atunci cand vrem sa intreprindem o activitate comerciala.

Cea mai simpla metoda este sa te autorizezi ca Persoana Fizica Autorizata (PFA), pentru ca aceasta, spre deosebire de o societate comerciala, are mai putine controale de la FISC si evidenta mai putina de tinut, singura grija fiind sa faca o activitate care sa ii aduca profit, iar din acel profit sa plateasca impozitul de 16% anual.

Asadar, pentru a va autoriza ca PFA trebuie sa va adresati ONRC (Registrul Comertului) din localitatea in care domiciliati. Taxele totale sunt in jurul a 180 RON (include certificatul constatator, taxele de verificare si inregistrare denumire, taxa de inmatriculare, transmiterea declaratiilor catre autoritati, etc.), iar la final, dupa ce primiti toate autorizarile, va mai trebuie o stampila (aprox. 30 RON), facturier si chitantier (aprox. 15 RON) si un registru de control (25 RON). Procedura este destul de simpla si dureaza in total maxim o saptamana.

De mentionat este ca anul acesta cheltuielile cu benzina nu se incadreaza la rubrica “cheltuieli deductibile” si nu pot fi scazute din venituri, insa puteti face un contract de comodat intre masina voastra (proprietate personala) si PFA-ul vostru, avand astfel posibilitatea de a deduce cheltuielile cu intretinerea masinii. De asemenea, in anumite limite, exista posibilitatea de a contribui la fondurile de pensii facultative (fiind cheltuiala deductibila) sau de a plati prime de asigurare.

Documentele de care aveti nevoie pentru a va autoriza, sunt:

1. Cererea de inregistrare;

2. Dovada verificarii disponibilitatii si rezervarii firmei (original);

3. Carte de identitate original si copie;

4.Documente care atesta drepturile de folosinta asupra sediului profesional/punctelor de lucru cu semnaturi de la vecinii domiciliului in care se fixeaza sediul social;

5. Specimenul de semnatura al persoanei fizice autorizate (original);

6. Informatiile din cazierul fiscal;

7. Declaratia-tip pe propria raspundere care sa ateste indeplinirea conditiilor legale de functionare prevazute de legislatia speciala din domeniul sanitar, sanitar-veterinar, protectiei mediului si protectiei muncii.

8. Dovezile privind plata taxelor/tarifelor legale: taxele de registru.

9. In functie de domeniul de activitate ales, o diploma care sa ateste certificarea in respectivul domeniu.

Stanley secure their future

There was some great news for Accrington Stanley today as it was announced that the club had finally paid off their £308,000 debt to the tax man and that their future is now secure.

Stanley’s saviour came in the form of local businessman and shareholder Ilyas Khan who, as reported in previous posts, offered to pay off the remaining £212,000 shortfall along with help from the PFA after the club were granted a seven day adjournment by the High Court last week.

In doing so, Khan has become non-executive chairman at the Crown Ground and former vice-chairman Peter Marsden, who resigned from his role after failing to convince directors to accept Khan’s original offer, is Stanley’s new club president.

Changes in the boardroom will go some way to appeasing those who had urged Chairman David O’Neil and Chief Executive Rob Heyes to stand down in light of recent events at the club. Khan meanwhile has thanked fans for their support and has promised a reign of transparency in the future.

It took a while, but finally Accrington Stanley are safe. The doom and gloom surrounding the club has gone and now manager John Coleman and his players can get back to doing what they do best, playing football!

Marlon King who plays for Premier League club Wigan Athletic for has been found guilty of sexual assault and causing actual bodily harm. He was sacked by the club and sentenced for 18 months in prison. Marlon, father of three was celebrating his wife’s pregnancy and scoring a winning goal at Revue Bar in London’s Soho district when he groped Miss Emily Carr, a 20-year old university student who had the misfortune of being in the same club as the arrogant striker.  Emily, a slightly built girl recoiled from King’s touch and asked him to not to touch her. The 35,000-a-week footballer, started shouting “Don’t you know who I am, I’m a millionaire love… you are not even in my league” and then he took one step backward and smashed her in the face with a clenched fist, breaking her nose with the blow. Miss Carr said,”It was like being hit with a brick in the face. My friend who saw it said King took a step back and delivered the punch like a boxer in the ring – with full force.”

It was an act of sickeningly brutal, unprovoked violence against a slightly built girl and this wasn’t the first time for the 39-year old Marlon King. He has a lengthy criminal record(a total of 13 convictions!) which dates back to when he was only 19 and  includes dishonesty, assault, theft, criminal damage, drink-driving, receiving a stolen £30,000 BMW  and violence against women. In 2003, King was convicted of common assaults on two women whom he chased through Soho with a belt wrapped round his fist, one of whom he punched in the face in another unprovoked violent reaction. In 2006, he was convicted of threatening behaviour after slapping a woman on the head and bottom and then spitting at her for which he was fined £800. Small change for someone like him!

And this time, he has once again scarred a girl physically and mentally for life. Emily Carr has called for him to be banned from the game for life.  She said that King’s lawyers had been moaning about their client losing £1 million in earning, while she said she had lost her face! What I don’t understand is, why was this man playing in the top league and getting paid millions for what can only be called average footballing skill in the first place? Why would any club, even consider getting such a person on their team. I know people make mistakes and should be given a second chance in life but those people need to work hard to deserve the second chance.

The Professional Footballers’ Association’s chief executive, Gordon Taylor has said that the PFA will support Marlon King and that everyone makes mistakes and they are sure he’ll overcome his problems and that they will support him to get his life and career back. I think this is absolute rubbish. First of all, which career is Gordon Taylor, talking about? Marlon King certainly is not a footballer. He is a liar and a thief  who also plays football. He is a danger to women and is in denial of his violence. He still claims that he is a victim of mistaken identity and will appeal the sentence. Is this the sort of man PFA wants to help and support?!  Secondly, at what cost are we thinking about giving this person a second chance… a person who’s had his share of second chances given to him already. Millions of children and youngsters, all over the world look up to footballers and aspire to be like them. They dream of having the money, the lifestyle, gorgeous women, the glamour, the fame, the excitement and the fanfare which a successful career in football brings with it. Do we want them to learn that they can get away with such brutal acts… that they can break a girl’s nose, spit on another, steal and lie, all because they can hit a football somewhat well?

Arsene Wenger, the manager of Arsenal FC has said “When he has paid his sentence, of course you would consider sigining someone like that.” At what cost Mr. Wenger?  You can’t polish a turd. King doesn’t deserve another chance in football. He has already had a chance too many… 13 chances too many. It’s time to kick out such bullies out of  football.

Uma semana preenchida por ideias desconexas, dispersas, e sem grande lógica, que me deixaram um pouco à deriva.
Verdade, verdade, é que ocupei os neurónios com stress por causa do 24 Hour Comics que chega já no dia 3 de Outubro (Sábado) e no qual tenho todas as intenções de participar, mas que me está a escapar pelos dedos, como manteiga derretida. É que não tenho nenhuma ideia que me cative e para fazer algo tão exigente, eu preciso mesmo de algo que me motive, para não acontecer o que aconteceu no ano passado, em que fiz tudo tão em cima do joelho e acabei por ter uma história com um bom início, um meio medíocre e um final desastradamente mal conseguido. Foi uma excelente experiência, mas não planeio repetir os mesmos erros de novata.
Está certo que a ideia do 24 Hour Comics é mesmo fazer uma banda desenhada (do principio ao fim) de 24 páginas em 24 horas, mas o mínimo de preparo é, não só desejável, como aconselhável. Saber o que pretendo fazer e como lá pretendo chegar, é a melhor forma de chegar “viva” ao final desta odisseia.
Mas e o que é que isto tem a ver com escrita?
Não muito, convenhamos, mas tem algo, como o guião que eu estou a tentar imaginar e não consigo. Só me saem ideias descabidas ou demasiado difíceis de serem concretizadas em 24 horas.
Noutras andanças, o PFA, como não podia deixar de ser, tem andado a encher-me os miolos com ideias fantásticas, especialmente para os relacionamentos entre algumas personagens. Mais propriamente a Alana e Giorgio (do “Prato Principal”, que nem sequer estavam nos meus planos para a história principal, mas que agora tomaram conta do circo. Raios? Como é que as personagens fazem isso? Invadem-nos de tal forma que é impossível ignorá-los. E o Giorgio tem sido especialmente persistente, com a sua personalidade absolutamente adorável. Há que amar um vampiro bonzinho e sedutor, não?
Mudando de tema, novamente, o “Angel Gabriel” também progrediu, mas não tanto como seria desejável. Bem … eu já me conheço bem o suficiente para saber que ia dar nisto. *suspiro* Não tenho emenda! Se não é uma coisa, é outra. Mas eu não desisto! Por isso, até para a semana.

SHAH ALAM, 10 Sept (Bernama) — Persatuan Pemain Bola Sepak Profesional Malaysia (PFA Malaysia) yang dilancarkan dengan rasmi Khamis akan berusaha memperjuang dan mempertahankan hak pemain bola sepak profesional dalam Liga Malaysia.

Setiausaha Agung PFA Malaysia Subramaniam E.R. berkata PFA Malaysia yang didaftar secara rasmi dengan Pejabat Pesuruhjaya Sukan pada 16 Julai lepas adalah badan bergabung FIFPro, Persekutuan Antarabangsa bagi pertubuhan Pemain Bola Sepak Antarabangsa yang mewakili lebih 57,000 pemain profesional dari 60 negara anggota.

“Dengan pelancaran ini, PFA Malaysia akan mewakili pemain dalam perkara-perkara berkaitan dengan bayaran gaji, penamatan kontrak di tengah musim, terma kontrak.

Lain-lain perkara yang bermanfaat kepada pemain yang turut menjadi perhatian badan itu ialah soal wakil undang-undang, hak imej pemain, penerimaan komuniti, pengiktirafan pemain, persimpangan karier, persetujuan bersama dengan FAM dan kelab mereka.

Bagaimanapun menurutnya manfaat itu akan dinikmati oleh pemain profesional yang mendaftar sebagai anggota persatuan itu sahaja.

Well, we know what fluoropolymers are, and most firms directly related to our industry do as well, but the general public may not be so familiar with such things as PTFE, FEP, PFA, and PVDF – all of which are fluoropolymers.

The purpose of this post is not to directly discuss fluorotherm’s products, but to mention the importance of educating the public about your products (and services).  There are many ways to promote products in order to increase awareness.

Consider the following:

-  Write a blog about your products.  Just as Fluorotherm writes this blog about fluoropolymers, we encourage all businesses to write about their site, products/services, and company-related information.

-  Issue newsletters.  We offer newsletters directly from our Web site and enable interested parties to stay on our mailing list to keep informed about us.

-  Hire a marketing or pr company.  Many times, small businesses are too busy to conduct important initiatives in-house.  Outsourcing to professionals ensures that objectives are addressed and addressed well by experienced professionals.

- Attend tradeshows.  Tradeshows are great to become acquainted with others in your industry and may invite the opportunity to recruit new talent to your business.

Bine, e vorba de unul singur, deocamdata, si inca invat din mers (n-am studiat asta la cursurile de PR si publicitate, asa ca mi-am luat de pe net niste articole si niste carti – iar practica ma va ajuta cel mai bine). Dar un prim pas am facut: am dat la share niste poze, am postat un filmulet pe youtube cu o selectie de imagini si am dat link-ul la status pe messenger (btw, ma gasiti pe youtube, astept sa-mi spuneti daca ma recunoasteti ). De duminica, de cand am postat clipul, urmaresc numarul de view-uri cu ardoarea unui jucator la Loto, ce sta in fata TV-ului cu pumnii inclestati, asteptand sa se strige numerele castigatoare. Vad cumva cat de greu este sa ai audienta si ce simt producatorii emisiunilor TV cand urmaresc rating-ul. Este o lupta pe viata si pe moarte, ca la bursa de valori, ca in campaniile politice – ma si vad stand pe un podium, promovandu-mi situl (si, pe viitor, siturile), aclamata de multime…
Daca e un lucru pe care vreau sa-l fac, acela este sa lucrez in PR si promovare (desigur, si in organizare de evenimente – poate imi creez propria firma pana cand se da startul la nunti in familia mea, spre exemplu). Diplomele de licenta si de masterat in PR ar trebui sa ma ajute sa pornesc la drum, iar cu “joaca” asta de-a promovarea sitului (spun “joaca” pentru ca sunt – sau ma simt ca – un fel de PFA, de liber-profesionist, fara experienta si fara autorizatie sa zic asa, dar cu initiativa si cu capacitate mare de invatare), incep sa-mi intru in mana.

PFA chief executive Gordon Taylor has revealed in an exclusive interview with ESPNsoccernet his objections to the “invasion of privacy” as the entire England squad are threatened with home drug testing before the World Cup finals.

Taylor is convinced that 30 elite players will shortly be named as part of a new set of rules for drug testing and thinks that the likelihood of these players having to record their whereabouts for 365 days in the year is on the verge of being implemented.

It would mean Fabio Capello’s entire World Cup squad being on the list, along with leading England Under-21 stars and possibly some women internationals.

Taylor told Soccernet: “UK Sport are keen to comply with WADA, the World Anti-Doping Agency, and would not just want elite players, but also Under-21 players and women on the list too. The name, “Teflon” is Dupont’s trademark name for its family of fluoropolymers.  At times, it is mistaken that DuPont’s trademark name is meant only to refer to the fluoropolymer, PTFE, when FEP and PFA also can be used under the appellation.

Though all of the fluoropolymers can be cataloged in the same family, they vary slightly in regards to thermal and mechanical properties.

PTFE and PFA have a raised temperature tolerance in comparison to FEP.

FEP and PFA are clear, yet PTFE is translucent.  FEP and PFA have better mechanical properties in comparision to PTFE.

The main differences are in regards to chemical inertness, corrosion resistance ,permeability, and FDA approval.

Nos últimos dias fiz alguma pesquisa. Tanto para o PFA como para o Angel Gabriel, pois queria mudar umas pequenas coisas e convinha que fosse historicamente correcta, ou neste caso, mitologicamente correcta.
Também estive a escrever vários capítulos iniciais para o Angel Gabriel, de formas diferentes, para tentar decidir o melhor, mas ainda não estou satisfeita, por isso vou continuar esta semana.
E como já disse num post anterior, tenho andado a ponderar sobre o NaNoWriMo deste ano, embora não demasiado porque ainda faltam dois meses.

NaNoWriMo 2009

Sim eu sei que é cedo, mas que querem? O NaNoWriMo 2009 já nada na boca de toda a gente. (pelo menos dos que participaram no anos transacto) e eu não podia deixar de fazer publicidade gratuita, até porque, como já devem ter adivinhado, eu vou fazer os possíveis e os impossíveis por participar este ano e completar a tarefa com honra.

Ainda não sei qual é a novela que vou escrever, mas as hipóteses mais certas são:
- V.I.D.A.
- Através do vidro
- No limiar da vida
- PFA (título temporário)

Estou bastante indecisa porque tinha ideias de fazer o “No limiar da vida” este ano, mas muito sinceramente estou mais inclinada para o “PFA“, cujo maior problema é mesmo o facto de ainda ter de fazer muito pesquisa antes de me sentir confortável a escrevê-lo. Caso escolha o “V.I.D.A.” é bastante provável que não chegue às 50 000 palvras (o desafio) e então irei também incluir o “Através do vidro” na equação.

Bem, ainda tenho dois meses para decidir. Daqui até lá se calhar ainda tenho outro rasgo de imaginação e acabo a escrever algo que não tem nada a ver com o referido a cima. Mas espero que não porque gostava de avançar com um destes.

O “Vermelho Sangue” e o “Alma” também fazem parte da lista, mas é muito menos provável que escolha um destes dois, não por falta de gosto, mas por estar mais virada para os quatro acima mencionados. Veremos…

Quem vai entrar no NaNoWriMo deste ano? Já sabem o que vão escrever?

Nada de muito relevante a reportar.

Na semana que passou dediquei-me um pouco ao PFA (título provisório), projecto para o qual também escrevi o pequeno conto que publiquei no domingo.
Não revelo muito sobre este projecto porque, sinceramente, ainda me falta definir muita coisa. Tenho algumas personagens, algumas tramas, mas este é um daqueles que vai dar muito trabalho e vai precisar de uma boa dose de pesquisa. É divertido, mas isto também torna o avanço um pouco lento.

Os outros projectos não avançaram esta semana. Veremos daqui para a frente.
