Who needs an iPad Mini when you can have an even better full-size iPad? Apple surprised us with the announcement of a fourth-generation iPad with a fast A6X processor, support for more wireless carriers, and an HD camera on front for video chat.

Apple claims the new A6X chip will double CPU and graphics power. On top of that, the new iPad will feature a better front-facing camera for video calls, faster WiFi, and the new-ish Lighting connector that’s smaller and featured on the iPhone 5.

“The competition wasn’t even close to us, and now we’re just blowing past them some more,” Apple SVP Phil Schiller said at the iPad event today in San Jose, Calif.

On top of AT&T and Verizon offering LTE data, Sprint will now also be able to offer an LTE data package on the fourth-generation iPad.

The full-size iPad will remain the same price as prior generations, with $500 as the base and working its way up to $830.

Apple’s October Surprise

One, two, three, four, five, five: It’s here the sixth version of the iPhone, the iPhone 5. Tim Cook, who doubled down on secrecy, took the stage at Yerba Buena and shocked the crowd by introducing a device with a design that no one outside of Apple could have even imagined – well, at least the new iPod Nano and Touch’s designs hadn’t been spoiled by tech bloggers. Chaim is unimpressed, Harry is dying to get the five digits on his right hand around an i5, and Justin admits to having a crush on Jony Ive. We talk about the iPhone 5′s upgraded speakers, its trio of mics, the elongated screen, the sapphire lens coating and its diamond polished chamfers. Damn it has nice chamfers.

So anyone looking to get a ticket to the infamous WWDC (World Wide Developers Conference) at the Moscone Center in California is now out of luck.

The Next Web, (www.thenextweb.com) was first to break the news this morning via Twitter. Roughly around 7:30am CST. Shortly there after, Apple sold out of tickets, approximately 1 hour and 54 minutes since they were initially available.

The sad news is that very few of the West Coast Developers were awake at the time and missed the opportunity to fork out the $1600 price tag for a guaranteed seat at the conference. Apple has also implemented a “non - transferable” ticketing system to prevent those individuals selling tickets at large amounts on sites like Ebay and Craigslist.

As the logo and image states, the conference and main keynote will begin on June 11th, 2012. It is most definitely the week we all are waiting for, especially those iPhone attics dying to know what the next generation device will look like and when it will be available. Apple is rumored to debut it’s next iteration of iOS. Dubbed “iOS 6″ and all developers are excited what new API’s and other enhancements to iOS will be available.

Did you get your ticket?

Anyway, wellcome back, Steve!
