He aqui los posters mas interesantes de las peliculas que espero con ansias, todavia no hay niguno de Harry Potter and the deathly hallows part I, pero me conformo con los de Alicia en el pais de las maravillas y Avatar, no les pierdan la pista a estos proximos clasicos!

Tras de que la cinta Salt estuviera mucho tiempo sin dar señales de vida, se nos da a conocer el primer póster de la misma, en donde vemos a una Angelina Jolie con una apariencia mucho más joven y fresca, obviamente producto del photoshop. La cinta es una dramatización de un caso real, en donde una agente de la CIA es acusada de traición, aunque en el film, ella escapa para tratar de limpiar su nombre. Más de uno espera ver de vuelta a esta mujer en la pantalla, así que seguramente se tratará de un éxito de taquilla.

The Quiet American (2002)

The Quiet American is a film based on the Graham Greene novel of the same name and his characters here have some shades of the characters in his novella-turned-screenplay, The Third Man. In many ways The Quiet American is as true to Greene’s literary work as The Third Man is, and I would even say that it is as good as the The Third Man is within the medium of film. Perhaps it is just that the quality of our present audience has diminished? This is the second film adaptation of Greene’s The Quiet American. This version is as daring as the novel is in retrospect and it is without question light years away from the propagandist elements presented in the shameful 1958 version. Unfortunately the Quiet American was quiet at the box office and failed miserably. More shame, as it is in my humble view one of the best films in the last ten years.

Thomas Fowler (Caine) with Phoung (Do Thi Hai Yen)

The film is set in Saigon in the early 1950s. It takes place right at the end of the First Indochina War but, like the novel, its political snaps are not at the forefront because they are not necessarily intentional, they are assumed. That is probably because only someone lost in the fog of patriotism would dispute them as facts. But the Quiet American is actually a love story. It is about and narrated by, Thomas Fowler (Michael Caine), a British journalist at the twilight of his life hanging onto his youth by falling for a young Vietnamese girl named Phuong. Enter his contrast; Alden Pyle (Brendan Fraser), a naive but educated young American who falls for Phuong and offers her what he sees within his strong moral code as a far better life. That same moral code is tested considerably but to Director Phillip Noyce’s credit, I never see Pyle as a villain and likewise to Fraser’s credit, as he plays Pyle as if he could proudly be him fifty years ago. Unlike Greene’s novel, the film’s ending is more politically charged, but I bought into it and it meshed well with the film overall. I don’t want to reveal more than that for those who haven’t read the novel or seen the movie but it is a fantastic film full of absolutely outstanding performances. The film almost stands in opposition of the 1958 version but in doing so, it is far more consistent with Greene’s novel.

Brendan Fraser as Alden Pyle

It is important to note that the performance of Michael Caine is one of the best I’d seen in years (he was nominated for an Oscar but lost to Adrien Brody for his work in The Pianist). Caine bounds about in this kind of half-alive state from scene to scene, but downplays it just enough that we believe him as a survivor. He is such an amazing actor that easily slips under one’s radar by putting together such simple and restrained performances. He is rarely melodramatic and has never been picky about screenplays, but for me his performances remind me more of real life than almost anyone. Brendan Fraser is also great for many of the same reasons and he also happens to play a cartoon buffoon in nine out of ten roles he chooses. So what? In a rare feature role within a great film, Fraser is absolutely perfect.

Finally, this is a beautifully shot film and was done so on location in Vietnam. Not a common occurrence for sure, and Noyce is kind to soak it in for us. There is something about this film that gives me hope, not in love or war, but in big business filmmaking for taking such a fair and worldly view on a tale worth telling in the cinema once again. On the other hand, was anyone really watching?

Demorou mas finalmente foi divulgado o trailer do longa de ação com Angelina Jolie. O trailer na verdade tinha caído na internet terça-feira, mas por motivos legais a Columbia conseguiu tira-los do youtube a afins.

A trama gira em torno de Evelyn Salt (Angelina Jolie), uma oficial da CIA que é acusada por um desertor de ser uma agente dupla russa, precisando a todo o custo de provar o contrário para conseguir mostrar a sua inocência. Me lembrou muito Identidade Bourne, e achei aquela parte da máscara meio ridícula (Missão Impossível 2…).

Columbia Pictures has revealed the teaser trailer for Salt, the action-thriller directed by Phillip Noyce and starring Angelina Jolie, Liev Schreiber and Chiwetel Ejiofor.

O filme Salt, do diretor Phillip Noyce (Geração Roubada) é um dos projetos mais polêmicos desse ano. Primeiro a produção quase não saiu do papel, depois o astro do filme Tom Cruise desistiu do longa e no seu lugar entrou a deusa Angelina Jolie.

Agora foi divulgado o primeiro e eletrizante trailer de Salt, pelo jeito a troca de Cruise por Jolie não poderia ser melhor. A atriz que interpreta uma agente da CIA, que realmente parece  uma versão feminina de Jason Bourne, mas com aquele olhar e personalidade única da atriz. Na trama Jolie é uma oficial da CIA conhecida pelo nome de Salt, que está investigando um atentado contra o presidente dos EUA. Um suspeito russo revela durante um interrogatório que existe um espião dentro da agência e que Salt é a espiã dentro da CIA. Salt agora tem que provar que não é culpada e proteger sua família.

Angelina Jolie já provou seu talento para filmes de ação em Tomb Raider e depois arrasou em Sr. e Sra. Smith e pelo trailer Salt promete ser mais um bom filme de ação e espionagem.

O roteiro foi escrito por Kurt Wimmer (Ultravioleta), o elenco conta com Liev Schreiber e Chiwetel Ejiofor.

Salt estreia em 23 de julho de 2010 nos EUA.

Adaptando al gran Greene

No hace falta haber leído la novela de Graham Greene en la que está basada esta adaptación de Philip Noyce para saber que nos hallamos ante una fidedigna traslación a la gran pantalla. Basta conocer las más elementales señas de identidad narrativas del brillante literato inglés (su concisión, su callada capacidad de sugerencia, de inducción de grandes acontecimientos, en definitiva su sobrado dominio de la técnica narrativa) para identificarlas en las imágenes de esta The Quiet American. De hecho, la leí poco después de ver la película, y, amén de disfrutarla y sufrir como se disfruta y sufre con el grueso de bibliografía, pude adverar que en efecto Noyce atinó la sintonía.

Ingredientes

De hecho, también identificamos a Greene en el tono y contenido de la voz en off en primera persona –en este caso, de Thomas (Michael Caine)-, servidumbre, tan palpable desde que la escuchamos en el prólogo de la película, que en realidad le otorga al filme buena parte de su  belleza y su mérito. Porque, no nos engañemos, si puedes adaptar a un clásico del tamaño de Greene, lo único que precisas es un buen guionista capaz de extraer un libreto estructurado (Christopher Hampton lo logra, con una adaptación mucho mejor, por ejemplo, que la que hizo y tantos laureles le valió sobre la novela de Chaderlos de Laclos Les dangereuses liaisons), un equipo de producción que pueda darle empaque al encourage (existe un esmerado diseño de producción y de vestuario, que la película agradece), y, claro, un artesano esforzado y talentoso que sepa dirigir los actores y mantener el ritmo de la trama. Noyce, sin duda, lo es.

Apocalypse near

Al espectador le queda entonces la grata experiencia de asistir a esa historia de amor a dos bandas en la que la femme fatale no lo es, sino que es todo lo contrario, en la que los sentimientos más íntimos tienen su reflejo en los actos más despiadados o en las cavilaciones más complejas, y todo ello (que se arranca el maestro Greene y nos transmite la película) a partir de un telón de fondo de indudable turbiedad, como es el Saigón de los años cincuenta, previa la descolonización de Francia y la división entre norte y sur, y cuando el intervencionismo americano empezaba a amenazar, tímido, con el uso de la fuerza, esa guerra que el cine tan bien nos ha explicado.

With DISTRICT 9 set to hit theaters on August 14  - and I cannot wait – there’s a continued trend I’m noticing recently (well, technically there are two involved with District – the other would be naming the movie something with the number nine in it. Including the animated movie 9, produced by Tim Burton and Timur Bekmambetov; NINE, starring Daniel Day-Lewis, a multitude of amazing women and directed by Rob Marshall (CHICAGO); and then the 2007 movie starring Ryan Reynolds, THE NINES.) with movies being filmed in – and about – South Africa.

Philip Noyce has had a history of political or ideological thrillers. Whether it’s his “couple sailing are tormented by a castaway they pick up” thrillers of DEAD CALM; or the foray into the espionage thrillers with Jack Ryan, PATRIOT GAMES and A CLEAR AND PRESENT DANGER and then there’s the more recent movies like THE QUIET AMERICAN about America’s early mis-adventures in Vietnam. But, it’s this Australian’s movie about South African, Aparteid-era terrorism and racial prejudices, CATCH A FIRE, that I’m going to talk about tonight.

The movie stars Derek Luke (an American actor, born in New Jersey) playing a South African man, named Patrick Chamusso, struggling to keep a job at a local factory. When said factory is one day attacked, a local government agent is brought in and questions Luke’s character. After being tortured and having his wife and family put through the same rigors, Patrick eventually says that he will confess to a crime he didn’t do. While this might make the agent, played here by Tim Robbins, happy; eventually Patrick is released. The downside is, this leads him directly to signing up for a terrorist organization. There’s eventually a showdown that does lead to Chamusso, being captured and arrested. It might seem improper to give away a part of the ending like that; but the thing is, this story is true.

The real Chamusso was arrested and sentenced to 24 years in prison. He is released early because of the abolition of Apartheid and the eventual election of Nelson Mandela as President. Chamusso, who gets remarried, started an orphanage that houses over 80 kids.

There is a great commentary by Noyce, who tells some of the story about how this kind of mis-treatment of citizens, would – and still does lead to released prisoners to join the same militias that they’ve been accused of being a part of. The movie is very touching, for it’s true story and how this man saw the error of his ways and saw that he could only redeem himself by forgiving his captors – a philosophy, that seemingly was pushed by Mandela.

Second is a movie, that is fictional except for the message behind it, of the world’s acceptance and exploitation of the diamonds mined in Africa. The movie, as well as these jewels are known as a BLOOD DIAMOND. The movie, directed by Edward Zwick, stars Leonardo DiCaprio, Djimon Hounsou and Jennifer Connelly, as a trio that are trying to save a family; while also trying to find such a diamond.

The movie starts with Hounsou, telling his son that he needs to go to school and showing us that Hounsou’s character, Solomon Vandy. Vandy, who after a raid by an attack by a local militia is taken prisoner and to a river, where he is forced to mine for diamonds. He happens upon a large diamond right at the same time when the militia is attacked by the government. He manages to hide the diamond – while soon being caught by the leader, named Captain Poison. Everyone is taken to jail, where Captain Poison then screams to everyone that Vandy has a diamond and that he’ll pay to get it from him. Just so happens that along with all of these men is another, a man who was caught smuggling diamonds into Sierra Leone (where the movie takes place, even though it was filmed in South Africa – see how it fits into what I’m talking about?). This man, Danny Archer (DiCaprio), is a former member of a military group led by Arnold Vosloo’s Colonel Coetzee. HE also overhears the yelling about Solomon having a diamond, and upon his release has it set up for Vandy to also be let out of jail.

Where Connelly comes in, is as a journalist, who is trying to get a story from the perspective of the mercenaries who keep the blood diamond trade flowing. So, she continues to prod Archer, who when she learns about Vandy’s story, they set off all using one of the other to get what they want. She helps Vandy find his family; in exchange for then telling Archer where the giant pink diamond are and Archer then telling Connelly’s character – Maddy Bowen – everything he knows.

Zwick creates a wonderful and action packed story, with a conclusion that sadly only really comes in the movies. we then get a denouement that tells us about the real conflict diamond trade. Also, this is the movie that DiCaprio was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Actor for in 2007.

Last, is the movie by actual South African filmmaker, Gavin Hood – who recently directed the not as great Summer movie, X-MEN ORIGINS: WOLVERINE – about a young thug who steals a car one day only to then find that there is a baby in the back seat. TSOTSI, the name of the movie and of the boy – played wonderfully by Presley Chweneyagae – is a tense tale of a young man who gets in over his head with gangs, a baby and of interpersonal relationships. Tsotsi is a runaway, and after spending time growing up in large concrete construction pipes, he uses some of his friends to form a small gang, that pull robberies and in one case leads to a man being murdered.

One night while out, he shoots a woman and takes her car. The woman survives and with the help of the police get word out about the baby. Quickly realizing that he’s not personally up to the task of taking care of this infant – and yet not wanting to give it up – he forces a woman from his neighborhood to help feed the baby; since she has one of her own, she must know how to do it. Eventually Tsotsi’s friends have to pull another job, and wind up back at the same house that he had shot the woman in front of. Once inside, they tie up the husband to the woman (and father of the baby) and loot the place – with Tsotsi grabbing things to help take care of the baby.

The performances are all pretty great in the movie, mostly featuring unknown actors, including the star, Presley Chweneyagae. But, also features African entertainer Zola, and actor Ian Roberts. It was also nominated for an Academy Award, for best Foreign Language Film – and won! – and led to the writer/director to more high-profile (if not more successful, see previously mentioned Summer movie) gigs, along with the “War on Terror”-themed movie, RENDITION, starring Reese Witherspoon and Jake Gyllenhaal.

DISTRICT 9, a movie by writer/director Neill Blomkamp and produced by Peter (LORD OF THE RINGS trilogy) Jackson, is about a group of alien refugees whose ship arrives floating over Johannesburg, South Africa. The aliens are then corralled into a ghetto of sorts – called District 9 – is sort of an allegory for Apartheid-era of the country. It’s based off a short that Blomkamp had made, previously.

I can’t wait to see it.

A star-studded Hollywood blockbuster about Mary Queen of Scots has been axed.

The £30 million movie, which had Scarlett Johansson playing the doomed Scottish queen, was due to start filming this year with the support of First Minister Alex Salmond.

Hollywood star Scarlett Johansson had already agreed to play the lead in the project, which was due to start filming in Scotland and Ireland later this year.

Australian director Phillip Noyce explained that the film’s demise was a result of the current economic climate.

He said: “Mary Queen of Scots was being financed by a company, Capitol Films, that essentially went broke – the film isn’t happening.”

Noyce, who has previously headed such successful films as Clear and Present Danger and The Bone Collector, visited Scotland several times in the past year to scout locations for Mary Queen of Scots.

First Minister Alex Salmond, a keen supporter of the project, offered to let the director film on location at Edinburgh Castle, where in 1556 Mary gave birth to her son, the future James VI of Scotland and later James I of England.

It was hoped that the film would boost Scottish tourism, attracting visitors to such key locations as Holyrood Palace, the site of Mary’s marriage in 1565, and Linlithgow Palace, where she was born in 1542.

Celia Stevenson, director of inward investment for Scottish Screen, said that losing the film was a blow.

She said: “It’s a tragedy when film projects are suspended.

“I am sure the movie would have been hugely popular but this financial climate proved to be too much for it.”

“What I can say is that the film will definitely be made at some point in the future.”

Phillip Noyce (Patriot Games, The Saint) is set to direct Samuel Jackson in a tale that centers on an American fugitive trying to protect his family who’s drawn into a world of murderers, kidnappers and corrupt cops in South Africa. Jackson would play a good detective who goes by the moniker of Disaster Zondi. Kelly Masterson (Before the Devil Knows You’re Dead) is penning the adaptation of Roger Smith’s novel. Noyce is currently directing Angelina Jolie in the Kurt Wimmer-penned Salt.

Phillip Noyce dirigirá el thriller indie Mixed Blood, que cuenta ya con Samuel L. Jackson como co-protagonista. La película sigue la huída de un preso que tendrá que tomar una serie de violentas decisiones para poder proteger a su familia, actos que atraen la atención de asesinos, secuestradores, policías corruptos y un honrado detective al que dará vida Jackson. El guión se basa en la novela de mismo título que Roger Smith escribió el año pasado. El rodaje comenzará durante los primeros días de 2.010.

Hoy es 26 de mayo de 2009. Día del homenaje al Periodismo y al Cine en la butacaempresarial, teniendo siempre en cuenta, claro está, que se concibe al Periodismo como forma mayoritaria de comunicación social de las empresas informativas. En este día tan especial voy a hacer una mini-recopilación de obras (no hay sitio para hablar de todas) cinematográficas que tienen un mismo denominador común: el Periodismo.

Como observareis más adelante, no han sido pocas las películas (y hay más…) que han tratado el tema o que han tenido como protagonista a un informador. La información se presentará en el siguiente orden: título, año, director y breve descripción, y estará dividida en siete etapas, que son las siguientes:

1. Hasta 1950:

• El reportero del diablo - 1929 – Billy Wilder – Peripecias de un periodista y su ayudante tras la pista de unos gangsters que han secuestrado a unas jóvenes americanas en Berlín. El periodista las libera y enamora a la protagonista y escribe el reportaje del año.
• Ciudadano Kane – 1940 - Orson Welles – La biografía del magnate de un medio de comunicación (William Randolph Hearst), interpretado por Orson Welles. Muestra el gran poder que puede llegar a acumular una sola persona y cómo lo puede utilizar.
• La llama sagrada - 1943 - George Cukor -Spencer Tracy interpreta a un notable periodista que quiere rendir un tributo a un respetado y admirado patriota muerto en un accidente de coche. Hepburn es la viuda del fallecido sobre el que Tracy quiere escribir.

2. 1951-1960:

• El gran carnaval – 1951 – Billy Wilder – Un reportero sin escrúpulos (Kirk Douglas), mantiene a un hombre atrapado en una mina para alargar el éxito de su exclusiva. Su primer título fue «Ace in the Hole». Está basada en un hecho similar sucedido años antes en EEUU.
• Historias de la radio - 1955 – José Luis Saenz de Heredia- Años cincuenta en España, tres historias cuyo hilo conductor es la radio y la programación de la época.
• Enséñame a querer - 1958 - George Seaton – Confrontación de dos visiones del periodismo: el aprendido oficialmente y el de la «escuela del mundo real».

3. 1960-1970:

• Corredor sin retorno - 1963 – Samuel Fuller – Describe los abusos en las instituciones psiquiátricas a través de un caso de periodismo sensacionalista, en que el reportero de turno se hace pasar por loco, con las previsibles consecuencias.
• A sangre fría - 1967 - Richard Brook- Basada en la novela homónima de Truman Capote, es el reportaje periodístico llevado a la pantalla de un terrible crimen en el que fue asesinada una familia.

4. Década 1970:

• Primera Plana - 1974 – Billy Wilder - Tercera adaptación de la obra de teatro El gran reportaje de Ben Hetch y Charles McArthur. Sátira en torno al mundo del periodismo y la prensa sensacionalista. Los protagonistas, dos periodistas (Jack Lemmon y Walter Matthau) y un condenado a muerte que se escapa la noche de su ejecución.
• Todos los hombres del presidente – 1976 - Allan Pakula - Robert Redfod y Dustin Hofman interpretan a los periodistas que descubrieron y el periódico que publicó, el escándalo que obligó a dimitir a Nixon como presidente, el watergate.
• Superman – 1977 – Richard Donner – Cuando no ejerce de superhombre, la vida profesional de Carl Kent es la de periodista, en una redacción en la que trabaja también su novia y sus amigos más cercanos.
• La verdad sobre el caso Savolta – 1979 - Antonio Drove - Un escritor anarquista intenta demoler la empresa de Savolta con sus publicaciones en la Barcelona de los años 1917 a 1923, entra las luchas entre obreros y patronos, huelgas, Semana Trágica, etc.

5. Década 1980:

• Rojos – 1981 - Warren Beatty - Con tres Oscar en 1981. Biografía de John Reed, periodista fundador del partido comunista norteamericano, quién observó la revolución rusa de 1917 y logró un gran éxito con su libro «Ten days that shook the world».
• Días de radio - 1986 - Woody Allen – La influencia de la radio en una familia norteamericana de la posguerra.
• Al filo de la noticia – 1987 - James L. Brooks – La vida en una cadena de cadena de televisión de Washington, en la que una realizadora vive obsesionada por controlar todo lo que sucede.

6. Década 1990:

• El informe pelícano – 1993 - Alan J. Pakula – Basada en una novela de John Grisham. Una joven que elaborado un informe sobre los asesinatos de unos jueces es amenazada. Aterrorizada, decide confiar en un periodista.
• Territorio comanche – 1997 - Gerardo Herrero – Basada en una novela-reportaje de Arturo Pérez Reverte, cuenta la dura vida de unos reporteros en el conflicto yugoslavo.
• Mad city – 1997 - Costa-Gavras – Un periodista televisivo (Dustin Hoffman) que atraviesa un mal momento profesional encuentra la historia que puede recuperar su prestigio: el guarda jurado de un Museo (John Travolta) que para recuperar su empleo mantiene como rehenes a un grupo de niños. Excepcional película para tratar la «fabricación» y manipulación de la noticia en directo. Una feroz crítica de la falta de ética en los medios de comunicación.

7. Desde 2000:

• El americano impasible – 2002 - Phillip Noyce - Basado en la obra homónima de Graham Greene. Un veterano corresponsal inglés en Vietnam va descubriendo las intenciones de un agente norteamericano encargado de desestabilizar el país.
• Buenas noches y buena suerte – 2005 - George Clooney – El relato del pulso periodístico real que mantuvieron un medio de comunicación y el temible senador McCarthy durante la famosa «caza de brujas» de comunistas es un brillante alegato a favor del periodismo valiente y contra los excesos del poder formulados en nombre de la libertad.
• Leones por corderos – 2007 - Robert Redford – Cuenta la historia de varios individuos en distintas situaciones personales al finalizar la guerra de Afganistán, una de ellas la de un político que intenta tejer una de las últimas «estrategias exhaustivas» alrededor de una periodista de una agencia de noticias.

He aquí algunas de las más importantes e interesantes de cada etapa. Espero que os sirvan si alguna vez debéis poner en relación la profesión periodística y el cine.

The buzz today in Hollywod is that the only female in the Top 10 Box Office stars of America, Ms. Angelina Jolie, wants to be a High Arts Coroner.

Jolie has had meeting with author, Patricia Cornwell, to turn her bestselling book series on Kay Scarpetta, an Opera Loving medical examiner, into a film series.

Jolie will star in the films and she’s teaming up with Fox 200 and Cornwell to make the deal happen. I think that’s smart, having watched how The Twilight Kids and also how Matt Damon are rocking it starring in films that have a proven book audience and market, Jolie has decided that a book series is the way to go for her too.

Nice one Angelina, a good transition that gives some stability and regularity to raising a growing family of six Jolie-Pitt celebu-tots.

Variety reports that: ‘There are 16 Scarpetta novels, meaning a franchise is hoped for, but this film won’t be tied to a specific Cornwell mystery title. Much the way that Jason Bourne morphed into an action hero in plots not rigidly locked into the Robert Ludlum book series, the opera-loving coroner Scarpetta will be the lead in a suspense thriller in the vein of “The Silence of the Lambs” and “Seven.”

Deal is a mega-marriage, with Jolie one of the most bankable female movie stars, and Cornwell one of the biggest selling female authors in the world. Cornwell, whose latest installment “Scarpetta” was published last December by Putnam, last year made a deal with Lifetime Television to adapt two non-Scarpetta novels, “At Risk” and “The Front.”

Jolie is one busy working Momma, here’s what else she has on the boil: ‘Jolie is starring in the Phillip Noyce-directed “Salt” for Columbia Pictures. She will reprise the voice for her Tigress character in “Kung Fu Panda” sequel and she awaits a script for a “Wanted” sequel that would potentially re-team her with director Timur Bekmambetov and James McAvoy at Universal.

And now the real question is, while Angelina is set for a lucrative movie career, what is her man, Brad Pitt going to do while Angie looks so fab in a potential blockbuster new series and body of work? Trong buổi chụp hình quảng bá cho bộ phim Salt –- bắt đầu bấm máy tại New York hôm 3/3 – người đẹp 33 tuổi đội hai kiểu tóc giả, một đen và một vàng. Cả hai đều dài mượt và có mái bằng, ngang lông mày. Trong bộ tóc giả màu đen, nữ diễn viên trông rất cá tính và mạnh mẽ, trong khi bộ tóc giả màu vàng khiến cô trở nên dịu dàng và sexy.

Các nhà làm phim cho biết, bí ẩn tâm điểm của bộ phim là danh tính thực sự của Evelyn Salt. Nhà sản xuất Lorenzo di Bonaventura tiết lộ: “Cô ấy là một nhân vật mà bạn chưa từng biết. Người ta không thể suy đoán là cô ấy có giả danh hay không”.

Ban đầu bộ phim được đặt tên là Edwin A. Salt và dự định Tom Cruise sẽ vào vai chính. Tuy nhiên, kịch bản đã được viết lại khi Angelina bày tỏ sự quan tâm. Bộ phim cũng được đặt lại tên là Evelyn A. Salt nhưng sau đó các nhà sản xuất rút gọn là Salt.

Minh tinh Hollywood cùng người tình Brad Pitt và 6 đứa con sẽ chuyển đến sống ở ngôi biệt thự trị giá 60 triệu USD tại Gold Coast, Long Island, New York trong suốt thời gian cô đóng phim.

Dinh cơ trên mặt nước có bể bơi, một vịnh nhỏ riêng biệt, bến đậu tàu, phòng tập thể dục, cửa hàng cắt tóc, thang máy… Điền sản rộng 200 nghìn mét vuông có 25 phòng, gồm 8 phòng ngủ và 12 phòng tắm.

The one good thing about this Monday is that my cell phone works! I would say – people, call me. But that would cost you your tuition money and left leg.

Started class today. It’s awkward. No one talks. Did I mention I hate some college kids? Others, okay. Most, I don’t care for. But we did watch an old-school Nicole Kidman flick, Dead Calm, as well as an arthouse Phillip Noyce, Backroads.

However, the best part of it all was at 6:20 that evening – aka, the screening time for Australia!!

Yes, I’ve seen it already back home. Yes, I think it is glory in all forms. Yes, I still want Baz Lurhmann to be my best friend. And yes, Hugh Jackman doesn’t hurt.

But my second screening of the epic-fest that is Lurhmann’s love song to Oz really revealed so much more meaning. Interesting was that the movie was prefaced with a disclaimer informing indigenous Australians or Straits Island peoples that their ancestors would be referenced in the film – a sign of respect. Historical references, intertextuality, references to other Australian films, race relation issues, and more.

It was…it made me cry. Again.
