Today’s post is dedicated to school. But rather than bore you with a picture of textbooks and my mind-numbed face, I figured I’d just show you the banner from my school’s website. I attend Purpose Institute- a Bible college. While I attend CSCC as well, Purpose Institute gets more of my attention because I am getting the spiritual training I need to lead a life of ministry in today’s world.

Purpose Insitute has literally changed my life. Before it I knew little about what I really believe. But the challenging classes forced me to think deeper, study harder, and learn faster. Now I not only know what I believe, I can describe it to anyone who asks me.

Purpose Institute gave me a foundation for my relationship with God.

Today I am to talk about my “cuddle buddy.” After much thought about this I decided to be honest: I’m eighteen. I have three stuffed animals. I occasionally cuddle with them. I’m actually holding on to them because I really wanna give ‘em to my kids later on in life. So let me introduce you!

This first one is “Monkey”. I know. Such an original name! He is actually my best-friend monkey. Before my bestie moved ten hours away, I bought two monkeys and gave her one. Now they sit on our desks and whenever we miss eachother, we give the monkey a loving hug. Then we text each other a very long message that usually consists of “IIIIIIIII MMMMMMIIIIIISSSSSS YYYYYOOOOOUUUUUUU!!!!!” repeatedly. Cause we are that awesome.

This lovely poodle is “Monet”. She was a gift from my oldest sister when I turned the ripe age of sixteen. Two years later my sister got hitched and moved out. This little thing is what I hold close whenever I watch a sappy chick flick and my sister isn’t there to cry with me.

Finally, and probably most importantly, this is Tommy. He’s my kitty-kat. When I was little my dad traveled constantly for work. Because of this he had to miss some important moments in my life. Well one time he brought this little stuffed animal home after one of his trips. He said to hug it whenever I missed him. As you can imagine, this got me through a lot of rough nights. So that’s why I’ll never get rid of Tommy. To this day I hug him whenever my dad has to leave town.

This is a tree that has been growing in my mom’s garden for about a decade now. In the spring, it’s green with these gorgeous white and pink blooms all over it. Sadly, rather pathetically, I’m not sure what this tree is called. I personally prefer it in the autumn, because as you can see in the photo, the leaves turn a lovely shade of purplish red.

There’s something so wonderful about the colors of fall! It’s like God just took a paint brush, dunked it in several different colors and then shook it really hard so that the colors would fall on the leaves. It’s like stepping, quite literally, into a painting.

My view today. Or I guess I should say almost every morning Penny watching the Treehouse network. Don’t you love her bed head? I try to set her down to watch so I can freshen up a bit for the day or to clean up a little. I’m so glad she finally fits her Bumbo chair!

Day 13- In Your Bag

Is there a doctor in the house?

Why no, I am not a doctor, but my purse thinks it is.

If you can’t see in the picture, the contents include the following:

Hand Sanitizer- I never carried this before I got pregnant. To be honest, I never thought about germs. But now I have allowed germs into my thought process and have decided….they are icky.

I’m not Howie Mandel but , I squirt some after the gas station and after I have been some where that people do a lot of hand shaking.

My phone- I love my stylin’ purple rubber case. And no, it is not a smart phone. I am REFUSING to pay $30 a month in a data package. And If I get one, the Hubs does too…$60! No way. At least it doesn’t flip, right?

Keys- The Hubs makes fun of me because I have so many keys, he thinks I aspire to be a janitor. Secondly, because I have one of those carabiners that rock climbers use. It’s funny because I would love to go rock climbing but only under the conditions that it is in Europe, and when I almost fall to my death Prince William would be then one to rescue me.

Zofran- I am not totally away from this miraculous drug. As a matter of fact, the last two nights I have had to take one. Last night was because I smelled fried chicken and it turned my stomach in a hurry. The worst part was, I had to pee and every time I gagged, I peed a little on myself. Sheesh.

Generic Zyrtec- I have major allergies and now that I am in my 2nd trimester I take one about every 2 days just to manage the snot and watery eyes.

Generic Tylenol- the 2nd trimester reduced the nausea but added headaches. I do everything I can before I take one. Step one- walk around for 5 minutes. Step 2- eat a little something . Step 3- drink a small amount of caffeine. Step 4- take a Tylenol. These headaches suck but I would much rather have them than throwing up all the time.

Deodorant- I hate this deodorant. Its an emergency deo for the BO, but I sometimes wonder if the BO would be better.

A super sweet card- This card came in a week ago from someone I have never met. It included a $25 check. WOW. I can tell you that the Lord as completely shocked us and filled my faith cup since The hubs took his new youth pastor job. He always takes care of us.

Thermometer- I bought this about a week before I found out I was preggo. I felt a little under the weather. I am a MAJOR skeptic when it comes to thermometers! I always think the one(s) in our house are wrong. So I went to Walgreens and bought this dandy one that is…COLOR CODED!

So cool. It shows green with the temp if you are ok, yellow if you are a little high, and red when you are way high.

This came in very handy, because I ran a low fever from weeks 6-11. So weird.

Oh wait, not so weird. I had a dang UTI. I just thought it was normal to feel like a gargoyle when you were pregnant. Turns out a bad UTI can do that without a fetus.

Who knew?
