Photorec es un software creado para recuperar nuestro archivos incluyendo videos, imagenes y otro tipo de archivos que se hayan encontrado en el disco duro o en un cd/dvd.

Para instalar Photorec escribimos el siguiente comando en terminal:

Ubuntu:

sudo apt-get install testdisk

Fedora:

yum install testdisk

Metodo para usar Photorec (ejemplo) una vez instalado photorec vamos a buscar un archivo jpg en nuestro disco duro, esto es para un disco duro en formato NTFS.

Ubuntu:

sudo photorec

Fedora:

su -photorec

I managed to spend nearly 40 years working in IT without once losing data. I was careful – some might say obsessionally careful – to make sure I always had backups and a recovery plan. Sadly, however, when it came to the simple matter of managing the photos on my own digital camera I failed to take that same care and ended up losing scores of photos that I had taken during a recent holiday.

It happened like this.

Having received a memory card as a birthday present I was keen to upgrade the storage capacity of my camera as soon as possible. So I inserted the card and followed the instructions to format it without first making sure that all the photos on the existing built-in memory had been saved.

Very careless of me.

Removing the new memory card quickly established that my holiday pics that should have still been on the built-in memory were gone. Much wailing and gnashing of teeth ensued of course, together with a strange sense of guilt that echoed the fact that it was nobody’s fault but my own.

So what to do. Was there any way at all that the photos could have survived a “format” operation? Well maybe. On a FAT filesystem, as used by my camera, a “delete” is often nothing more than the removal of directory information pointing to the file. The actual data is left untouched.

Maybe this was also true for a “format” operation. If so the photos would still be there on the internal memory and there might be at least a chance that I could find some kind of “undelete” program that would recover my lost pics.

Enter PhotoRec and TestDisk. These 2 wonderful utilities are free and open source and will run under Linux, Windows, Mac and other platforms. TestDisk is a utility that can be used to recover lost partitions, lost boot sectors and damaged filesystems generally. It’s companion utility, PhotoRec, as it’s name suggests, is a program that can recover lost photos, video (and other filetypes) by attempting to read the data still present on the media.

So for those of you who, like me, have been careless enough to have lost data from portable media (such as a digital camera) here are the steps I went through to recover them -

1. Download the TestDisk and PhotoRec programs. On Ubuntu Linux this can be done with this one command -

sudo apt-get install testdisk

(Go here to download for other platforms).

2. Connect the media device to the PC and note the mount point (e.g. /dev/sdb1)

3. Open up a terminal and enter the following command -

sudo photorec   /d rec_folder  /dev/sdb1

where rec_folder is a writeable folder on the PC to receive the recovered files (PhotoRec will create it and, for some reason, append .1 to the name)

4. This screenshot shows that PhotoRec has identified the media device – press Enter to Proceed.

5. This screenshot shows various partition table types that PhotoRec knows about – use the Up-Arrow key to select “Intel/PC partition”.

6. Press Enter To Select (Whole disk).

7. This screenshot shows various filesystem types that PhotoRec knows about – select Other for FAT filesystems.

8. This screenshot shows file recovery in progress.

9. The final screenshot shows all files recovered – operation is complete.

To give PhotoRec the best chance to recover your data use it as soon as possible after deletion or formatting. Using the affected storage before recovering the lost files may cause permanent data loss.

Ayer por error o por enredar demasiado borré las fotos de la boda que estuve el fin de semana de mi cámara de fotos. La verdad es que no eran gran cosa, pero ya por cabezonería, he querido recuperarlas, y a base de buscar en el Sabio Google, pues en principio pensé en ir a una tienda de fotografía para que me ayudasen, al final opté por hacerlo yo misma, sabiendo que mi incultura en temas informáticos, le podía costar la vida a mi cámara de fotos y al ordenador, jeje.

Al final encontré varios programas de recuperación de archivos, fotos, etc…

Es el que he usado yo, y es bastante fácil, pues es hermano de CCleaner (herramienta que te ayuda a mantener tu sistema en perfecto estado haciendo una limpieza a fondo que mejora el rendimiento general y aumenta el espacio libre en disco).

Habrás más programas, pero yo de esto no entiendo, solo he usado Recuva para recuperar mis fotos, los demás programas los he encontrado por ahí, por si alguien los quiere usar… si hay alguna otra recomendación?

If you install it with your packet manager (Linux) it comes as part of the packet TestDisk.
A small issue I noticed while using it: Sometimes the program is not able to detect a mounted media card. If this happens under Linux, type:

mount

into a terminal to get  a list of all mounted devices. Pick the device path of your media card and start PhotoRec with this path as parameter.

Ich habe vor kurzem versehentlich alle Fotos von meiner letzten Reise gelöscht: Das waren fast 200 Bilder, meine Freunde waren sauer, weil ich der einzige war, der eine Fotokamera dabei hatte und ich musste schnellstmöglich nach einer Lösung suchen, um die gelöschten Bilder wieder herzustellen und somit die erhitzten Gemüter meiner Freunde zu beruhigen. Ich habe es geschafft – die kostenlose Software PhotoRec hat mir dabei geholfen. Mit ihrer Hilfe kann man gelöschte oder beschädigte Dateien (Fotos, Videos, Dokumente, …) wiederherstellen. Dabei müssen sich die Dateien nicht auf der Festplatte befinden, sondern können auch auf CDROM, Speicherkarten, USB-Sticks oder MP3-Playern gespeichert sein.

Laut Software-Entwickler ignoriert PhotoRec das Dateisystem und geht nach den darunter liegenden Daten, so dass es sogar funktioniert, wenn das Dateisystem eures Datenträgers schwer beschädigt oder formatiert ist. PhotoRec ist in der Verwendung sehr sicher, es wird nie versuchen, auf ein Laufwerk oder unterstützten Speicher, von dem du versuchst deine verlorene Daten wiederherzustellen, zu schreiben.

PhotoRec läuft unter DOS, Windows, Linux und Mac OS X, Solaris und *BSD. Ihr könnt diese Anwendung hier runterladen.

¿A quien nunca le ha pasado de borrar fotos sin querer o formatear una tarjeta? O incluso con las prisas sacar la tarjeta con la camara encendida y bloquearla. Pues bien para todo esto está photorec. Creo que es un programa imprescindible. Este programa es una parte de Testdisk un programa capaz de recuperar particiones enteras de nuestro disco. Pues photorec recupera nuestra tarjeta en un santiamen. Está disponible para todas las plataformas y es software libre. ¿Que mas se le puede pedir? Como aqui lo que nos interesa es GNU/Linux, pues vamos a ver como funciona.

Bueno, en su pagina puedes encontrar multiples descargas, un ejecutable (tar.bz) y paquetes rpm. Yo uso Ubuntu y viene en los repositorios oficiales. Si estas en Ubuntu pues solamente hace falta instalar con Synaptic o

sudo apt-get install testdisk

y en el terminal “llamais” el programa, para poder usarlo debemos de ser root, asi que

sudo photorec

y el resto es coser y cantar, se contestan una preguntitas, eso si todo en ingles, pero no hay mayor dificultad y a recuperar…

si se baja el ejecutable, se descomprime y en la carpeta se abre un terminal y se ajecuta con

$ sudo ./photorec_static

a recuperar se ha dicho!!!!

Vi sarà sicuramente capitato di cancellare per errore un file molto importante, magari un lavoro a cui avete dedicato molto tempo…in un istante avete pensato di aver perso tutto…non preoccupatevi, da adesso avrete un nuovo utilissimo strumento che vi permetterà di recuperare facilmente i file cancellati! Nachdem ich letztens Daten mit photorec gerettet habe, hatte ich das Problem, dass die Dateien alle unsortiert in verschiedenen Ordnern lagen. Damit man die Daten wenigstens nach Dateitypen sortiert hat, habe ich ein kleines Script geschrieben, welches genau das macht, d.h. die Dateien nach Dateitypen sortiert und in einem entsprechenden Ordner speichert. Dem Script werden zwei Parameter übergeben, einmal für den Pfad zum BackUp-Ordner und einmal für den Dateityp.

Das Script kann man sich hier herunterladen. Vor der Benutzung natürlich noch ausführbar machen.

In meinem letzen Beitrag zum Thema “Datenrettung” habe ich über das Tool foremost berichtet. Aber es gibt weit mehr Tools als nur dieses, so z.B. gibt es noch scalpel, welches ähnlich wie foremost arbeitet. Ein weiteres Werkzeug, welches ich heute vorstellen will, nennt sich photorec. Es befindet sich im Paket testdisk. Zuerst muss man also mit

sudo apt-get install testdisk

das Paket installieren. Wie schon foremost kann auch photorec sowohl mit Image-Dateien als auch mit physikalischen Laufwerken umgehen. Wie man photorec benutzt ist am besten in dieser Schritt-für-Schritt Anleitung beschrieben. Die Dateien werden in dann in einen frei wählbaren Ordner extrahiert. Danach sind die Daten ziemlich durcheinander.

Wenn ich meine Erfahrungen zwischen foremost und photorec vergleiche, dann ist in meinem Anwendungsfall (Dattenrettung einer 500GB Platte) photorec auf jedenfall besser geeignet. Von den verlorenen Daten hat es wesentlich mehr Daten wiederhergestellt als foremost.

Wow! Something happened last night when the CF card reader I was using got pulled out of my computer without being ejected (Mac’s have some problem with this) and when I plugged it back in I thought I had lost all of my files. All of the files within the CF card either had the “.jpc” or “.pib” file extension. I searched around and found this tool called PhotoRec. It is simply amazing! It’s a terminal based application, but it’s pretty straight forward. You choose the directory where you want to save the recovered photos and you hit “Y” and it just searches your hard drive to get all of the lost photos. It’s really neat, so I will be able to now write that Rivalry Game post with my photos. Lesson learned, don’t mix CF cards and Macs. You can check out PhotoRec here.

La sfida: “aiuto la macchina fotografica mi dice che la memory card è da formattare, vero che mi salvi le 400 foto del viaggio a New York?”;

Nell’anno 2009 mi chiedo come mai nessuno a parte Sandisk riesca a creare memory card che non si sminchiano da sole dopo un po’ di normalissimo uso (il perché si sia imposta la SD al posto della CF è ahimé assai chiaro), ma ormai il danno è fatto.

Mi aspettavo di avere a che fare con una banale SD formattata su cui fare poco più di un undelete, ma la situazione era ben peggiore: la partizione appariva completamente obliterata. Ma proprio abrasa.

Innanzitutto attacco il lettore di schedine al mio computer (l’idea di farlo con XP era, per usare un eufemismo, ai confini della realtà). Primo tentativo: dd. Faccio una copia grezza di tutti i dati e li provo a ripristinare in una nuova partizione (un’immagine disco creata all’uopo con gli ultimi giga di spazio a disposizione). Chissà, forse ci sarei anche riuscito, ma dd è lento come una trasformazione termodinamica reversibile. Mentre provavo il restore, per passare il tempo, ho dato la possibilità a testdisk, uno splendido programmino che si dice capace di aggiustare qualunque partizione, anche dopo che questa ha incontrato Chuck Norris. TestDisk riconosce che c’è qualcosa che non va (non che fosse difficile), ma si rifiuta di aggiustare la partizione. Scoraggiato ma sempre senza nessuna voglia di aspettare che 17179869184 bit vengano spostati uno per uno, scopro che i creatori di TestDisk hanno anche creato PhotoRec, il quale senza fare storie in 15 minuti ha recuperato foto e video che stavano sulla schedina.

Posto questo perché 1) così non cresce troppa muffa su sto blog 2) a qualcuno può servire 3) documentare un’altra vittoria nella nostra battaglia contro Skynet. O Matrix. Decidete voi.

Pues hoy, me preguntaron cómo restaurar archivos desde una memoria usada para jugar backups (propios, claro está ) de los juegos en la Nintendo DS, unos archivos .sav de progreso de juegos, el título va dedicado a ella ;D. Le recomendé ciertos programas, bien…pues para nuestro Ubuntu tenemos Testdisk,mucho más efectivo que cualquier programa para el SO de las ventanitas. Es Importante NO usar el soporte luego de haber eliminado/perdido la información, ya que sobreescribirías los sectores donde se encontraban los archivos.

TestDisk puede:
-Arreglar la Tabla de Particiones, recuperar particiones eliminadas
-Recuperar sectores de booteo FAT32 de su backup
-Reconstruir sectores de booteo FAT12/FAT16/FAT32
-Arreglar tablas de booteo de tipo FAT
-Reconstruir sectores de booteo NTFS
-Recuperar sectores de booteo NTFS de su backup
-Arreglas la MFT usando la MFT mirror
-Localizar el Superblock de Backup de ext2/ext3

El único inconveniente es que forma una selva son los nombres de los archivos, pero si son importantes…otra cosa es que debemos tener otro soporte de mayor o igual capacidad que el soporte que intentamos recuperar.

En fin, para instalarlo en Ubuntu:

sudo aptitude install testdisk

Ahora la sintaxis es fácil:

sudo photorec /d $DESTINO

#$DESTINO puede ser cualquiera, por ejemplo $HOME/recuperados.

Una vez hecho esto nos pide el soporte que queremos recuperar, evidentemente lo tenemos que tener conectado y montado previamente. Por cierto…agrandar la terminal que si no os sale un error como este:

Ahora sí, nos pide el soporte:

Ahora nos toca seleccionar la tabla de particiones (Pc en nuestro caso):

Seleccionamos y buscamos (search):

Ahora nos dirá el resultado y en dónde se han guardado (el directorio especificado anteriormente):

Ahora basta con ir al directorio, cambiarle los permisos a la carpeta para poder leerla y editarla. Ya tienes tus archivos recuperados (: .

Masih ingatkah kawan kawan pada artikel aku sebelum ini tentang proses recovery yang menggunakan tool tertentu untuk mendapatkan balik file yang dipadamkan secara tidak sengaja?kalau tidak. sila rujuk kat sini dulu[ Recovery ]

Semalam aku guna balik tool nih untuk recover memory kad, microSD 1 gigabyte anak jiran aku yang duk depan rumah aku, dia terformat semua data data dari microSD tu dalam hamphonenya yang baru dibelinya, pakai pun tak sampai seminggu. 

Aku ambil masa 20 minit untuk recover semua file dari memory kad tersebut. PC pentium III . slow skit la. Aku dapati, ada dua tiga keping file ehem ehem, bila aku tanya anak jiran aku tu, dia cakap tu bukan file dia. Ini menunjukkan bahawa memory kad tu sudah digunakan sebelumnya. maknanya, masa dia beli tu phone tu, pekedai beri dia memory kad yang dah tak de DARA lagi .. huhuhu. 

Huh, aku pun terfikir, gini lah cara bagaimana gambar gambar artis [yang ehem ehem atau tak ] terlepas tanpa kebenaran mereka. 

Yang best pasal photorec nih.

1. Bleh recover balik file yang hilang. [ Sila rujuk format format file yang boleh direcover oleh photorec]

2.korang bleh tahu sama ada  harddisk, pendrive atau sdcard yang baru dibeli tersebut pernah digunakan atau tidak. Biasanya kalau anda beli telephone baru, pekedai akan bagi kad memory percuma. 

Yang tak best [ Part yang perlu diberi perhatian oleh kawan kawan sekalian,yang nombor 2]

1. Semua file yang diselamatkan akan dinamakan atau ditandakan dengan suatu nama lain. so kalau kawan kawan ada 5000 file yang direcover.. sendiri mau ingat la.. hahahha.. sakit nak cari satu satu .. 

2. Kalau handphone korang rosak, atau memory kad, atau hard disk korang rosak, korang tak tau bagaimana untuk baiki, lalu hantar ke kedai hamphone atau kedai komputer.. mungkin korang rasa file/gambar sulit yang ada dalam tu telah pun dibuang / delete sebelumnya. Akan tetapi dengan program di atas, semua file yang telah dibuang/delete dapat dikembalikan kepada asal. 

3. Walaupun korang dah buang memory kad, lalu hantar hamphone atau kamera korang untuk di baiki, perlu diingatkan bahawa dalam hamphone atau kamera tu juga ada memory . mungkin dalam 60MB, mungkin suatu masa dulu, korang pernah amik gambar tertentu lalu menyimpannya dalam memory hamphone atau kamera.

Jadi, aku di sini hanya dapat memberi tahu kawan kawan semua supaya berhati hati jika mahu menyimpan data atau mengambil gambar yang korang rasa korang tak nak kongsi dengan orang lain contohnya kaum perempuan dan Muslimah yang ambik gambar dalam bilik tanpa tudung hanya untuk koleksi peribadi atau yang amik gambar hanya berbaju bek bek [ baju tidor],diharap lebih berhati hati dalam hal ini. 

Jika korang tak tau bagaimana nak recover file dari memory kad yang rosak atau terformat, hantarlah kepada orang yang korang percayai. 

* Aku perlukan pendapat korang, adakah patut aku menyediakan tutorial penggunaan photorec nih. niat aku hanya untuk memberi sedikit pengetahuan kepada kawan kawan untuk blajar cara nak  recover sendiri memory kad mereka sekiranya situasi di atas berlaku? .. tapi aku takut pulak ilmu yang aku beri nanti di salah gunakan oleh mereka mereka yang tidak bertanggungjawab.

Hui… das war knapp.

Heute morgen waren wir mit Jorik das erste Mal im Zoo. Naja, der Begriff Zoo mag für den Vogelpark Westerstede ein klein wenig übertrieben gewählt sein, aber es gibt da Tiere – und wie der Name schon vermuten lässt meist Vögel. Wenn man will, sind da sogar wilde und gefährliche Tiere – denn Gänse haben sie auch.

Um zum in der Überschrift erwähnten Thema zurückzukommen: Auf einmal war die Speicherkarte meiner Kamera kaputt, die Bildanzahlanzeige meiner DSLR blinkte nur mit einem großen “E” wie Error, Ersatzkarte natürlich nicht dabei und die schööööenen Bilder von vorhin – sind die wirklich alle im digitalen Nirvana gelandet? Im fototechnischen /dev/null-Ordner? Nichts half – Karte rein, Karte raus, Kamera an, Kamera aus, fluchen, beten, wimmern… alles zwecklos.

Für mich war der Ausflug launetechnisch gegessen…

Auch zuhause am PC war die Karte nicht zum Leben zu erwecken. Tante G. gab einige Tipps für kommerzielle Rettungsprogramme, die aber alle, zumindest in der Demoversion, nichts reelles bewirkten.  Als allerletztes hab ich dann noch PhotoRec ausprobiert, OpenSource und GPL. Die simple Shell-Oberfläche hab ich gestartet, einige Angaben per Tastatur gemacht und dann zählte der hoch… 1 Datei gerettet,  2 Dateien gerettet usw. Juhu!

Also… Hammertool, sollte man unbedingt für Notfälle schon im Voraus auf der Festplatte haben HIER GEHTS ZUM DOWNLOAD

Voher hab ich die Speicherkarte noch formattiert (nur im Quickformat).

Einige, wenige Aufnahmen sind zwar wirklich weg, aber das Gros der Bilder ist noch da.  Und, obwohl es nur ein paar Schnappschüsse waren, um einige Bilder wäre es auch schade gewesen.

Jetzt hab ich die Karte nochmal richtig formatiert und sie scheint wieder zu funktionieren. Trotzdem bestell ich mir gleich noch ein paar kleine Karten.
