A Kia Motors Corporation anunciou seus números de vendas globais
de carros de passageiros (exportações, vendas domésticas e vendas
de outras plantas da Kia fora da Coreia do Sul), veículos de lazer
(Recreational Vehicles) e veículos comerciais em outubro de 2009,
atingindo um total de 148.583 unidades vendidas. Esses números
representam um aumento de 34,6% em relação ao ano passado.

A fabricante de automóveis Naza, da Malásia, começou a produzir o compacto Picanto em sua terra-natal. O veículo, projetado pela Kia, será feito por lá devido a um acordo entre as empresas. A novidade chegará somente ao mercado interno, com menor incidência de impostos.

O Naza Picanto será vendido na Malásia somente com um motor de 1,1 litro de 64 cv. Ele chega com transmissão automática e duas versões, LS e EX. Há vidros elétricos, direção hidráulica, sensor de estacionamento, entre outros itens. Freios ABS, no entanto, não são oferecidos nem como opcional. Os preços partem de 8,8 mil euros (cerca de R$ 28 mil).

Malam ini.. saya baru dapat satu user yang mau jual PICANTO 2004 .. buka harga di 79 juta… mudah2an masih bisa kurang, untuk kilometernya sekitar 70.000an. Praticamente no mesmo instante em que a Fiat comunicou a redução dos preços do Punto, a Kia também anunciou a diminuição no valor cobrado pelo Picanto. O compacto entra em promoção a partir de hoje (17), com R$ 2 mil a menos no preço de tabela. A medida foi tomada para manter as cifras baixas mesmo com o fim gradual da redução de IPI para veículos com motor de até 2 litros.

A versão de entrada do compacto sul-coreano sai agora por R$ 33.900. Ela oferece airbag duplo, ar-condicionado, travamento elétrico das portas, vidros com acionamento elétrico, repetidores laterais integrados aos retrovisores e rádio com porta para iPod. O motor é um 1.0 de 64 cv. A outra opção, com câmbio automático de quatro marchas, sai agora por R$ 38.900.

i cannot help but feel a certain “angoisse” whenever i come across a picanto on the road, one phrase comes to mind: BE CAREFUL, HE HAS A PICANTO AND HE’S NOT AFRAID TO USE IT!!!

the purpose of uploading photos on facebook is to show your  friends that you have a life and you’re living it to the max BUT i’ve been there…, and i tell you, the time it takes you to upload an album is excruciating, you end up having no life while spending it in creating endless albums. Reestilizado na Coreia do Sul, o compacto Picanto ganhará mudanças visuais também na Europa. Seu lançamento no Velho Continente acontecerá em setembro, durante o Salão de Frankfurt. Além dos retoques estilísticos, o hatch receberá novos materiais de revestimento interno e opcionais inéditos. A Kia oferecerá ainda um kit de carroceria opcional, que inclui para-choques, rodas de liga leve e spoilers específicos, para incrementar o visual do modelo.

O motor 1.1 de 65 cv do modelo não recebeu grandes alterações, mas está mais econômico, de acordo com a Kia. A média fica em mais de 20 km/l e as emissões estão em 114 gramas de CO2 por km. Para o modelo automático, os números são ligeiramente piores. Já o propulsor diesel, de 75 cv, não passou por mudanças.

Na Europa, o Picanto oferecerá três versões de acabamento, podendo contar com ar-condicionado automático, controle de estabilidade, teto-solar e sensor de estacionamento. Seus preços partem de 8,7 mil euros na Alemanha.

total distance covered was about 7km.
need to start training harder cuz of 10km test in aslc.
then after service took 172, train and 161 home.

sunday, it was M-A-N-U-A-L all the way, and some teaching involved.

today, it’s time for a fiat puntoooooo.
kind of  phobia for that car but see what happens la later.

Modelos Kia terão motores flex em 2010 (foto:divulgação)

 De tempos em tempos surgem matérias na imprensa com dados sigilosos das fabricantes de carros. Pode ser desde a data de um lançamento ou até os planos de uma montadora. Normalmente, o mérito é mesmo da publicação que foi atrás e conseguiu a informação. Mas, seria ingênuo pensar que em alguns casos não é a fabricante é que planta a notícia.

Explico.  Se uma fabricante A acaba de lançar um hatch e a fabricante B planeja fazer o mesmo só daqui a seis meses. Seria lógico, a fabricante B deixar vazar essa informação para gerar espectativa nos potenciais compradores do hatch e assim segurar as vendas da montadora A.

Em outros casos, a montadora pode lançar a notícia apenas para ver a reação do público. O único fato concreto é que devemos desconfiar das informações sempre. Por exemplo, o Portal Zap trouxe uma matéria dizendo que a Kia vai lançar seu primeiro modelo com motor flex em julho de 2010  (veja: http://bit.ly/LWZFT)

O próprio portal credita a informação a um executivo da fabricante sul-coreana, sem citar o nome. E ele já avisa que o primeiro modelo será o Soul, para brigar com Fit e Livinia, ambos já com motores flex. O executivo afirmou ainda, que os sul-coreanos já trabalham na tecnologia flex desde 2007 e que os modelos da marca não precisarão dos reservatórios para a partida a frio.

Depois do Soul, virará flex o Sportage, o Cerato e por último o Picanto. Já que estava dando com a lingua nos dentes, o tal executivo não poupou esforços. Disse também que o novo Sorento vai chegar entre novembro e dezembro ainda deste ano. Este último, somente a gasolina. A versão diesel não virá, segundo é claro, ele- o executivo.

Ou seja, em uma só tacada o executivo entregou os planos de uma fabricante inteira de automóveis. Uma informação que vale milhões de reais. É dificil achar que a fabricante sul-coreana não sabia da divulgação dessas informações. Em todo caso, vamos acreditar que o mérito foi todo da imprensa, que conseguiu mais um furo de reportagem.

This is a very good looking car. It has two great things going for it and one bad thing. It’s the KND-5 concept car that previews Kia’s forthcoming VG. The VG is set to be unveiled at the Seoul International Motor Show and expected to enter production this autumn with most of the cues from this concept (in name only) intact.

The good points of the car? Well, firstly the styling, just look at it:

It’s a fantastic looking car by anyone’s book. Great grille and shaping around the lights, lovely high windscreen and a shape that wouldn’t seem too out of place parked up to some of the big name Germans. The other good thing about it is what it says for Kia. It shows just how far they’ve come in a short space of time and will certainly do a lot more for there image than, say a used Kia Picanto.  Kent, England and Europe, though, can forget it. And that’s the bad point.

This car, great looking as it is, is destined for North America only. Due to be available in early 2010 and marking the auto makers first foray into the market known as near-luxury, the VG isn’t for Europe. Which means yes, we keep things like the Kia Picanto, Magentis and the made-for-Europeans c’eed. All fine cars, sure, not to mention the Soul, but for some reason, Kia don’t think this car would fare well over here.

A real shame as this could have become only the second ever Kia that I’d want on my drive. The first, well – it’s the Soul.  I’d say “say goodbye” but then we don’t even get to see this car leave…

SCOTS are rushing to send their rare cars to the scrap-yard in order to take advantage of the Government’s scrappage scheme.

As every car traded in under the new scheme has to be destroyed, classic car enthusiasts are worried that some rarities will be lost forever.

Showrooms are seeing Morris Minors, Mercedes and Porches being driven into their dealership to be traded in for a shiny new fuel-efficient car with a substantial £2,000 discount.

And it is leading to some out-of-character behaviour from the usually ruthless car salesmen.

Horrified salesman

A spokesman for Kia said one of their dealers stopped a customer from sending her 1960s Singer Vogue to an early grave so she could buy their Picanto model at just £4,195.

The dealer, in Ewell, Surrey, persuaded her to sell the car instead and offered her the money off the new car anyway.

At another dealerships, a horrified salesman saved a 1980s RMB Gentry kit car from the scrap-yard.

Ian Seabrook, deputy editor of Classic Car Weekly, says readers have bombarded his office with heartbreaking tales of scrapped classics.

Rare Morris Minor pickup

He said: “We don’t like to see any useable car binned like this. And some of them do hit you quite hard.

“We’ve heard of an old Fiat 500, 80s and 90s Jags and future classics like the Ford Scorpio being scrapped.

“Perhaps the saddest one we’ve heard of is a genuine 1971 Morris Minor pickup, which is a very rare car.

“People see it as an easy way to get £2,000 but in some cases they could have haggled the discount anyway.”

“Wave goodbye”

A spokesman for another dealer said some cars they had been forced to send to their doom surprised them. They included a 1996 Austin 1100, a 1968 Morris Minor, a Jaguar XJ-S and a Mercedes F500.

Tony Whitehorn, Hyundai UK’s managing director, said: “For many it is an opportunity to buy their first-ever new car and it is enormously exciting.

“Some buyers have taken the decision to wave goodbye to cars which have been in the family for a generation.

“But their sadness disappears when they get into their new Hyundai.”

A Kia reestilizou novamente o compacto Picanto na Coreia do Sul. Comercializado por lá como Morning (“manhã”, em inglês), o modelo ganhou retoques visuais externos e também mudanças na parte interna. Há ainda novos opcionais e melhorias nos motores oferecidos.

Por fora, o Picanto coreano ganhou nova grade, semelhante à dos novos Soul e Cerato, para-choques reestilizados e faróis e lanternas escurecidos. Na parte interna, o hatch ganhou materiais de qualidade superior e nova combinação de cores para os revestimentos de painel e bancos, além de um novo volante. Como opção, o destaque fica por conta da câmera traseira para visão em marcha-à-ré com visor no retrovisor interno. Interessante é que o Picanto é considerado um dos modelos mais fáceis de se estacionar.

Na motorização, a novidade fica por conta da maior potência de um dos propulsores de 1 litro, agora com 72 cv (8 cv a mais). O outro conta com 67 cv. Ambos podem ser movidos a gasolina e gás natural. As transmissões são a manual de cinco marchas e a automática da quatro.

Seit einigen Wochen beschäftigt mich nun schon das Thema “Auto” und jetzt ist endlich eine Entscheidung gefallen:

Problem: meine Schüssel hat mittlerweile über 200.000 km drauf, die Klimaanlage ist schon seit 2 Jahren kaputt, der Kofferraum schließt nicht mehr richtig, überall Rost und zu allem übel müssten jetzt die Bremsen komplett neu gemacht werden (Beläge, Scheiben und Backen). Dazu kommt noch, dass ich im Januar wieder zum TÜV müsste.

Eigentlich hatte ich ja auf ein Geschäftsauto gehofft, aber da derzeit die Umsätze zu wünschen lassen, ist da in absehbarer Zeit nicht dran zu denken. Also – was tun?

1. Möglichkeit: ich lege es drauf an und hoffe, ich komme noch einmal so durch den TÜV (wird mit Sicherheit nicht funktionieren)

2. Möglichkeit: ich reparier die Bremsen und fahre das Auto nach dem TÜV noch 2 Jahre. ABER – ich weiß nie, wie lange es tatsächlich noch ohne größere Reparaturen geht. Der Auspuff ist sicher auch bald wieder fällig und die Batterie sollte wahrscheinlich auch noch gewechselt werden. Habe Bammel, dass es ein Fass ohne Boden wird.

3. Möglichkeit: ich nutze die derzeitige Abwrackprämie und leiste mir einen schicken Kleinstwagen. Niegelnagelneu. Wird allerdings trotzdem nicht günstig.

Also fing ich an die unterschiedlichen Modelle von Kleinstwagen von Preis und Ausstattung her zu vergleichen. Must-haves: Seitenairbags, Funkfernbedienung und elektr. Fensterheber, Klimaanlage, Radio/CD, Nebelscheinwerfer. Also kam eine Basisausstattung nicht in Frage.

Im Endeffekt waren dann noch 3 Wagen im Rennen: der Suzuki Alto, der Nissan Micra und der Kia Picanto.

Den Suzuki konnte ich spontan Probefahren und er machte einen recht spritzigen Eindruck. Was mich allerdings etwas störte waren die Klappfenster hinten und der unpraktische und irgendwie kleine Kofferraumzugang. Das ein Kofferraum in dieser Größenklasse mini ist war klar, aber wenn ich dann mit meiner Wasserkiste erst einmal zielen muß um sie in den Kofferraum zu stellen ist mir das doch etwas zu umständlich. Also wurde er schon aussortiert.

Der Nissan Micra war eigentlich ursprünglich mein Liebling. Ich mag die Form einfach total gern. Allerdings war er auch einer der Teuersten. Da Nissan aber gerade ein tolles Rabattangebot hatte wollte ich mir zumindest mal ein Angebot machen lassen. Allerdings war die Sache für mich schon erledigt, als ich erfuhr, dass die Sonderedition zwar alles hatte, zusätzlich noch einen IPod, Lenkradfernbedienung und einen Bordcomputer, allerdings gab es kein ESP und Nebelscheinwerfer waren auch nur optional. Also preislich und sicherheitstechnisch nicht das, was ich wollte.

Und im Endeffekt der Kia… was soll ich sagen? Ich hab mich in den kleinen Hüpfer mit seinen 5 Türen spontan verliebt. Und selbst die Beurteilungen und Tests im Internet lesen sich sehr gut. Der Händler war nett und zuvorkommend – was will man mehr?

Morgen oder Freitag werde ich deshalb mein neues Auto bestellen und ich freue mich jetzt schon wie ein kleines Kind endlich wieder ein komplett funktionierendes Auto zu haben! Am liebsten würde ich gleich los…
