See….aren’t they cute?

This picture was taken January 28th about 4 days after we adopted him from the Houston S.P.C.A. He was about 3-4 months old when we adopted him. I thought by the looks of him that his cute floppy ears were here to stay. He did have the ability to make them pointy when he was really excited or interested in something. But then they would get floppy again.

*I just read that last sentence again and realized that dogs and guys have more in common than I had previously thought.

Moving on…

I don’t really know when it happened, but his ears stopped being floppy. I think this is the similar to when you look back and think, “When did (insert your kids name here) get so big?” Although I suppose this is on a much smaller scale.

But dang those floppy ears were cute while they lasted.

Since I have 5,000 (ok, not that many) pictures of Hurley-I was able to find a picture of the so called turning point of his adorable floppy ears.

You can see that these are almost pointy ears. They remind me of Yoda’s ears.

See any similarities?

Oh lordy! That costume cracks me up! I kinda/sorta promised Hurley that I wouldn’t dress him up, but I don’t know now. That is funny. But you see what I mean by the Yoda ears?

But, alas…Children (in my case puppies) grow up and their cute little traits fade. Before I know it he will be moving out of the house and starting a family of his own. Well, not really. But you get the point.

Goodbye cute floppy ears….

Hello perma-pointy ears:

My baby’s all grown up! He’s such a big boy now.

I’m just wondering what developed in his ears that don’t allow them to be floppy anymore? Ear muscles? Weird.

But he is still pretty cute! In a more grown up way.

And just because I know you can’t get enough Hurley pictures I have to throw this one in the mix. Not because he looks cute, but because this picture makes me lol for real.

I love the look on his face and his squinty eyes.

Is it just because I’m his mommy that I think this is a hilarious pic? Maybe.

Wait a sec…I have squinty eyes in this pic too. Dang it.
