Un coup de coeur pour  la cinquième édition de la désormais mythique basket Colorama du chausseur Pierre Hardy qui a choisi de s’inspirer des œuvres du duo Gilbert & Georges. La lisière en cuir noire nous rappel les photomontages des deux artistes. C’est un festival de couleur pastel pour un style streetwear à la fois chic & hype. A porter sans modération.

I had the pleasure of attending the “Housing Works Fashion For Action 2009″ sample sale and auction event yesterday night in New York City. The Fall benefit and sample sale featured to die for auction packages, and unbeatable designer finds. The event, which is co-chaired by fab designer Derek Lam, is a four-day charitable fashion event, silent auction, and sample sale, that raises funds for Housing Works’ lifesaving services for homeless and low-income New Yorker’s living with HIV/AIDS:

Packages auctioned include tickets to the “Essence Music Festival 2010” and a three-night-stay in a hotel in New Orleans, tickets to the Oscar de la Renta, BCBG MAXAZRIA, Tracy Reese, and Rebecca Taylor shows during Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Spring 2010 in New York City, and two tickets to the Broadway show, backstage passes to meet the cast and a private theater tour with John Stamos two tickets to the Broadway show, backstage passes to meet the cast and a private theater tour with John Stamos, just to name a few.

As for the sample sale, my FAVORITE part by the way, over 150 top designers donated more than $1 million of merchandise, which was sold at 50%-70% off at retail price. Participating designers and brands include Balenciaga, Bottega Veneta, Burberry, Christian Dior, Dolce and Gabbana, DVF, Fendi, Gucci, Hugo Boss, Lanvin, Paul Smith, Theory, and Yves Saint Laurent, just to name a few. And with my mentor , Shakara, being as FABULOUS and generous as she is, she decided to cop me a pair of the silver Balenciaga ankle booties from the Fall 2008 collection:

With the futuristic feel and sharp attention to detail, it’s no doubt that it garnered a mass following from some of today’s most respected trend setters. From Sarah Jessica, to Ciara, to Heidi Klum, to Victoria Beckham, and even to BET’s Rocsi Diaz, this shoe has had it’s fair share of red carpet and TV appearances. But originally retailing at $960, I got (well my mentor got) a sweet, mind-blowing deal, snatching up the last pair in my size for $150!! Who’s your daddy?

Overall, it was an amazing, successful event, and besides my brand new, fab pair of Balenciaga’s, the atmosphere was great! Can’t wait until next time!

La 5ª Avenida cruza Manhattan de norte a sur y divide la isla en este y oeste. Las calles se numeran atendiendo a su dirección, East o West, siempre teniendo en cuenta su orientación desde esta avenida. Por el Midtown, es decir, por la parte central de Manhattan, esta gran calle se convierte en el paraiso de los adictos a las compras, todo son tiendas, tiendas y más tiendas. Si vas por poco tiempo, te será imposible entrar a todas, salvo que esa sea tu pretensión desde un principio. En mi caso, sólo tuve tiempo de disfrutar de sus escaparates, algunos muy chulos, la verdad.

Como no, una parada obligatoria es Tiffany & Co. ¡Quién no ha visto Desayuno con diamantes y tiene grabada en su memoria la imagen de Audrey Hepburn mirando, mientras desayuna, el escaparate de esta famosa joyería! Pues ahí sigue, repleto de joyas repartidas entre los muebles de pequeñas

 casas de muñecas. Desde fuera, todavía mantiene cierto glamour, sin embargo, su interior… parece más bien un parque temático de la joya. Nada lo diferencia mucho de la planta baja de cualquier Corte Inglés. Está lleno de turistas que se pasean por allí con poca intención de llevarse algo. No se pueden hacer fotos del interior pero, cuando me enteré, ya había hecho una así que aquí os la dejo para que comprobéis que aquello no es muy selecto que digamos.

Para los entendidos en moda habrá un montón de paradas obligadas en esta calle, estoy segura. Yo, lo único que os puedo recomendar es que os fijéis en los escaparates, hay verdaderas virguerías. Y si veis algo que os gusta y vuestro bolsillo os lo permite pues ya sabéis, atreveos a dar el siguiente paso, ¡acceder al interior, probar y comprar!

Las fotos no son muy buenas, las tuve que hacer rápido, de camino a algún otro lugar, hay reflejos y no se aprecia muy bien la decoración pero las cuelgo igualmente porque merece la pena echarles un vistazo. Por cierto, descubrí unos zapatos preciosos… no para mí, no suelo usar tacones, pero estéticamente me parecieron perfectos para combinar con un vestido negro liso, discreto. Por lo visto, Pierre Hardy es uno de los diseñadores que viste a actrices tipo Sara Jessica Parker, Cameron Díaz… y es famoso, sobre todo, por vestir sus pies. La verdad, no me extraña. Yo no lo conocía de nada y fue ver estas sandalias y ¡enamorarme! Si pudiera permitírmelo y tuviera la ocasión de lucir alguna de sus sandalias creo que no lo dudaría. Me quedo con su nombre por si algún día me animo y ¡decido arruinarme vistiendo mis pies! There are so many fabulous high/low designer collaborations this year, it’s getting hard to keep track! Here are the collections we’re coveting:

1. Jimmy Choo for H&M
This is probably the most anticipated designer collaboration of the season. Jimmy Choo has designed a line of shoes, clothing, accessories, and menswear. The line hits stores Nov. 14, but here’s a sneak peek from the lookbook.

2. Rodarte for Target
While not as well-known and established as Jimmy Choo, Rodarte has quickly garnered a solid following of fashion-savvy celebrities and consumers. The collection for Target will consist of 55 pieces that are modern, feminine, and trendy. The line will be available starting Dec. 20, so save some holiday money to buy yourself a present!

3. Opening Ceremony and Keds
The result will launch at Opening Ceremony in December, and the sneakers will retail for $125 each. Here’s a preview from Style.com’s fashion blog, Stylefile. The animal print is exotic for sneakers – wear a pair with jeans and a black tank for a slightly punk rock vibe.

4. Pierre Hardy for Gap
The collection of fall boots (the designer’s fourth for Gap) launched in stores last week. Here is a photo of two pairs available via racked.com – they look both comfortable AND chic, always a winning combination!

Chicke Schuhe aber diesmal nicht teuer. Was eigenlich nicht für Pierre Hardy zu trifft. Pierre ist berühmt für seine Schuhekustwerke, die an Füßen von Rihanna, Solange, Ciara usw. verfindet.  Pierre desigte schon für Christian Dior,  Balenciaga, Hermes. Diesmal gibt es eine günstige Kollektion für GAP, welches in Deutschland nicht zu haben gibt.

Schade. Aber wir haben ja noch die Jimmy Choo Kollektion von H&M, welche am 14.  November zu haben ist.

The go to shoes for the stylish man who wants to add some masculine elegance without losing a casualness to his looks, the Desert boot, or Chukka boot, has been the shoe of choice for the past few seasons in menswear. Whether a trend or not, the Chukka is a classic that will be here to stay.

Pierre Hardy’s Infamous “Channel” Sheepskin/Suede boots are being rejected at Gap stores nearly everywhere, after much delay in the stores receiving the boots, finally getting them the public is outraged by the fact the heel has been shortened from 4.5″ to a mere 2.5″; Yes its more comfort but I think not people that’s not what we signed up for. The boot which has now been commercialised makes anyone with a size over 5 look gargantuan. Also how you see the boot standing up in the promotional pic the shaft is not steady and flops about more.

All that being said rumours are swirling that there are various different heel sizes out there in different stores and that the higher ones are the sample pieces, but nevertheless I’m sure for £99.99 you would rather have the one in the pic than the one which has been shortened. Lindíssimo! Pierre Hardy.

As much as I love this Chloe skirt, you’d think I’d try and wear it more often.  Well, tonight I started.  

As you can see, the silk skirt is a lovely pumpkin color.  Technically, the color is saffron, but … pumpkin, saffron, what’s the difference really?  I also wore a vintage sweater from the 80s, bracelets from f21, and Pierre Hardy shoes.

As a commenter points out, while you’ll have to wait till next week to get your hands on a pair of Pierre Hardy’s fall Gap shoes in the city, the collection has already materialized on eBay.
