À duas noites atrás, uma daquelas noites em que parece que todos os mosquitos embirraram comigo, o calor decidiu concentrar-se no meu corpo, e a ventoinha pareceu não me conhecer; decidi meter os fones no computador, e ouvir qualquer coisa que me distraísse..

Com as músicas vêm recordações, com as recordações acordam-se saudades e sentimentos de tristeza acumulada.. Una Palabra, Quero Paki, Fizz e Acme, Voar – Agir, Só entra Pombos, Stone Sour, Valete, Juju Gomes e etc; uma sequência aleatória que de aleatória não tinha nada. Parecia um sinal, um sinal de que o passado veio atrás de mim, atrás dos sorrisos que um dia tive.. Tive muita gente na minha vida, gente que foi aparecendo, gente que vinha  ia, gente que ainda vem e vai; mas há alguns que não se distanciam apesar da real distância.

Foi tudo espectacular, tudo sorridente, sorridente mesmo, feliz, e ás vezes meio ‘turvo’, mas a culpa era daquelas coisas que fumávamos pelas noites dentro, ahah.

Tenho saudades tuas meu irmão, dos momentos em que nos confessávamos como não fazíamos com mais ninguém, das alturas em que decidíamos que mesmo sem dinheiro íamos sorrir e viver como se fossemos ricos, como se os nossos bolsos vazios estivessem cheios e não tivessem fim. Não tenho como descrever uma amizade de 11 anos, que se mantém, mesmo estando do outro lado do mundo, e se fortalece com uma distância impotente perante aqueles verdadeiros SORRISOS e horas passadas.. tranquilamentee.

‘Eu sou de todo lugar, eu sou um pouquinho daqui e um pouquinho de lá’

Ainda choro, não tenho como conter. Eu sei que não devia, porque chorando lembro aquela despedida, aquela noite na estação de Sjoão, em que não deu pra segurar, não deu para controlar, não consegui deixar de pensar que uma boa parte de mim ficava aí, junto de um amigo, que cedo, muito cedo se tornou um verdadeiro irmão.

Aquelas noites de putos, em que ficávamos a jogar, sempre a jogar, e no dia seguinte acordávamos para ver desenhos animados, jogar futebol com caricas, trocar as caricas por bebidas no Eduardo, O tony’s bar, o Bismark (ahah), Sebuteo, consolas antigas e jogos engraçados, cadernetas cheias de cromos das competições de futebol, cartas pokemon, brinquedos partidos que se tornaram recordações de uma infância difícil mas linda. Foi tudo complicado, foi tudo mais complicado do que parecia na altura, mas não podia pedir uma infância melhor. É como nós dizemos, as recordações vão aparecendo e são tantas que é impossivel recordar num texto ou num telefonema.

Nem jogar FM, é a mesma coisa, sem ter as mensagens para te dizer as minhas conquistas, as contratações, para fazermos saves juntos, coisas que parecem parvas, mas têm mais significado do que aparentam..

Os nossos saves no CM 0304 continuam lá, e não apago nada, não sou capaz nem o quero fazer.. Um dia vamos jogá-los juntos, outra vez.

Two weeks have past, since I attended the Writer’s Digest Conference and emerged myself into the world of the Web and Internet. Before the conference, my computer experience consisted of typing my stories in Microsoft word, searching Goggle, typing a couple of characters on Twitter and posting photos and messages to my family and friends on Facebook. Then like Neo in the Matrix movie, because I wanted to know more about the subtle energies of the world, I swallowed the red pill and emerged into a world of feeds, pingbacks, plug-ins and Html.  It didn’t stop there. I had to figure how to use Google Desktop, manage iphone apps,  record podcasts and plan a virtual book tour for my books.

Afriend asked me, “Why do you need to know all of those things for marketing?” My answer was simple. ” Social media is more than about marketing; it’s revolutionizing the way we interact in the world. Whether we like it or not the world is going digital. And this baby boomer doesn’t plan to be left behind.”  My next step into the world of social media was to determine my brand.  For me this was a real struggle, because I ‘m a writer, numerologist and spiritual advisor. I had to narrow it down.

At the Social Media Session of the recent October Capital Bookfest in Largo, Maryland, sponsored by Kwame Alexander, Donna Hill, an author and one of the presenters said, “Your brand is that idea that is always with you no matter what kind of books you write or what you do.” She had no more uttered the words, when this thought flowed through my consciousness– everything you write, say, and do is about spiritual truth and inspiring others.  Yeah, I wanted to jump up and shout out–”I know my brand.”  But I sat there quietly as million of thoughts ran through my mind. But don’t worry, I guarantee you’ll soon find out what they are.

No último dia 12 tivemos o pico de uma das maiores chuvas anuais de meteoros, a Perseidas. Esta chuva possui radiante na constelação de Perseus e infelizmente pra nós no hemisfério Sul não é possível aproveitar todo o potencial dela devido à sempre pouca elevação da constelação na madrugada, mas ainda sim podemos avistar bons meteoros e também fazer boas escutas em FM por reflexão meteórica. Segundo a IMO, a taxa de avistamentos em algumas partes do hemisfério Norte superou os 200 meteoros por hora, o que resultou em fotos belíssimas e excelentes escutas em FM, principalmente na Europa onde a atividade de observação/escuta está anos luz de qualquer coisa por aqui. Existe uma ferramenta interessante para o auxílio da escuta de meteoros que é o Virgo Meteor Sky View, o aplicativo nesse site ajuda com posicionamento de antenas durante as chuvas e também fornece outras informações como taxa estimada, posição dos radiantes na abóbada celeste do obsevador, período e data do pico de cada chuva em ocorrência e mais algumas coisas, só é necessário informar o grid locator de onde você está e o resto é com ele. Eu não conseguí boas escutas nessa chuva, mas o número de pings escutados foi realmente bem superior ao que acontece normalmente. Fiz uma gravação de 1 hora de duração em 89,1 (frequência muito boa pra monitorar meteoros por aqui) e depois selecionei os melhores pings num compacto de quase 8 minutos, o trecho compreende aos pings recebidos das 4:40 às 5:40 hora de Brasília (7:40 – 8:40 UTC) do dia 12/08.

A French nuclear submarine today began combing the Atlantic depths off Brazil in search of signals that would pinpoint the flight recorders that could explain why Air France flight 447 crashed last week. Aboard the Emeraude, crewmen called “golden ears” were straining to pick up in their headsets the acoustic “pings” which aircraft black boxes are supposed to transmit for 30 days under water. Nothing is better equipped for such faint sounds than an attack submarine with sophisticated sonar gear for detecting vessels deep in the ocean, naval officers said. As the Emeraude, with 72 men aboard, worked along with two US sonar-detecting vessels, the Brazilian and French navies continued to collect bodies and debris form the Airbus 330 airliner, which smashed into the Atlantic about 1,000 miles off Brazil with 228 people aboard.

Over 40 bodies had been plucked from the water and the first half-dozen were to be flown to Recife on the mainland for identification by fingerprints, body markings, teeth and DNA if necessary. Passengers’ belongings were also collected bobbing on the ocean surface. Large fragments of the aircraft were also being taken back for inspection.

The submarine is searching a zone over 100 miles from the area to where currents and winds carried the crash debris. The French Navy was cautious about the chances of success in one of the most difficult searches ever tried. “There are big uncertainties about the accident site. The ocean floor is rugged so it’s going to be very difficult and we’re going to need a lot of luck,” said Major Patrick Prazuck, the armed forces spokesman. The submarine had to pass very close to the boxes if it were to have a chance of detecting them, he said. Once the voice and data recorders are found, a French remote-controlled submarine will try to retrieve them with a robot arm. No flight recorders have been retrieved from the 12,000ft depth where those of Flight 447 are believed to lie.

In Europe, passengers had had a scare today when a Spanish-operated Airbus A320 made an emergency landing in the Canary Islands after suffering a failure in one of its two engines. The Iberworld airliner, smaller than the A330, had just left Las Palmas to fly Norwegian tourists to Oslo when there was a jolt and the pilots turned round to make a safe landing. Some passengers said that they had seen flames but the airline did not identify the engine problem. Air France pilots have voiced satisfaction with the airline’s swift replacement of speed sensors on all its 35 Airbus long-range aircraft. Faulty readings by the external sensors or pilot tubes, perhaps because of ice, are believed to have started the chain of events that led to the disaster.

Air France has acknowledged that its aircraft had suffered from a series of upsets in cruising flight over the past two years which were caused by faulty speed readings and subsequent malfunction in the automatic flight system. Several other airlines have reported similar upsets in their fleets of A330s and A340s. Louis Jobard, head of the Air France section of the SNPL, the main pilots’ union, said that it was common sense to modify the pilot tubes after the airspeed incidents, from which other airliners had been able to recover after three or four minutes. We are not especially worried,” Mr. Jobard said. “When there are erroneous speed readings, we follow a checklist of procedures for which we are trained. Of course they are much more difficult to deal with when in an unfavorable environment with storms and severe turbulence like 447 went through,” he said. All the clues to the Airbus’s fate so far have come from data transmitted automatically back to the airline’s maintenance base outside Paris during the last four minutes of flight. An understanding of the disaster would be immensely improved with information from the flight deck voice recorder and the flight data recorded on the black boxes. French officials continued to say that they did not rule out any cause, including terrorism. However Air accident experts played down the significance of a French media report that two passengers aboard the plane had names similar to those of two suspected Islamic radicals who are on a watch list compiled by French intelligence. The four-minute sequence of system failures reported from the stricken Airbus would not be consistent with a bomb explosion, a suicidal pilot or a fight between hijackers and the pilots.

Hoje pela manhã na minha constante busca por emissoras via Meteor Scatter, apareceu um ping de uma emissora que eu acredito ser a 89 FM de São Paulo. O trecho de audio recebido não é grande e não contém muita informação, porém, um sonoro “89!” pode ser ouvido no meio da vinheta. Peço e agradeço desde já, que alguém que conheça bem a programação da emissora possa me ajudar na confirmação dessa escuta. A gravação segue abaixo:

Na madrugada de amanhã (06/05) ocorrerá o pico da chuva anual de meteoros Eta-Aquarídeos. A taxa prevista para meteoros visíveis em condições ideais de observação no hemisfério Sul é de 85 meteoros por hora e isso significa que no rádio a atividade deverá ser enorme, excedendo em muito esse número. A melhor forma de escutá-los é deixando seu rádio em canais vazios onde não exista emissoras locais ou semi-locais e preferencialmente nos mais baixos, como de 88,1 a até 91 ou 92 mhz, onde menos ionização é necessária para o sinal ser refletido. Outra maneira mais complexa porém mais eficaz, é sintonizar em um receptor de comunicações as portadoras de vídeo dos canais 2 a 6 de TV, os quais as frequências seguem abaixo:

5 – 77.250
6 – 83.250

O receptor uma vez sintonizado deve estar em modo CW, mas pode-se também utilizar USB ou LSB sendo necessário descer 1 khz para USB (Ex. 55.249) e subir 1 khz para LSB (Ex. 55.251) e da mesma forma o canal selecionado para escuta não pode estar ocupado na sua cidade ou região, pois isso torna inviável esse tipo de escuta. Deixo abaixo duas gravações: uma exemplificando como é receber os meteoros pela sintonia das portadoras de vídeo de TV em USB e outra é de um meteoro muito forte escutado na manhã de ontem 04/05 em 89,1 às 05:38 hora de Brasília (08:38UT).

Aqui vai uma interessante gravação de um meteoro, ele foi intenso o bastante para segurar o sinal por uns bons segundos e aconteceu as 06:08 hora de Brasília(09:08UT). Parece ser alguma emissora afiliada da Rede Aleluia em 89,1, nessa frequência encontrei somente uma emissora afiliada que fica no RJ em Campos dos Goytacazes. Segue abaixo a gravação.

Nessa madrugada do dia 22/04 aconteceu o pico da chuva anual de meteoros “Lirídeos”. Os meteoros são outra forma de se escutar emissoras de FM à longa distância, ao cair eles produzem uma trilha de gás ionizado por volta de 60 a 100 km de altura que reflete sinais de rádio partindo de 25 a até mais de 500 Mhz, as fontes de sinal mais utilizadas para a prática de escuta de meteoros são os de TV e os de FM, devido a grande potencia nas emissões tendo-se assim uma maior facilidade em receber as reflexões. Geralmente os sinais captados duram menos de um segundo, mas algumas vezes podem alcançar vários segundos chegando até 1 minuto ou pouco mais se a intensidade da chuva for boa, possibilitando assim a identificação de emissoras com alguma sorte. Abaixo deixo uma pequena gravação de 89,1 feita hoje das 6:42 as 7:02 hora de Brasília, o audio tem pouco mais de 2 minutos porque foram cortados os espaços vazios entre os “pings”.

I got a ping. I would have mentioned it earlier, but I had no idea what it meant. A few days ago, I checked my Dashboard and there it was—snagged by the Spam filter. Most of my Spam has key words that alert me that the sender isn’t sincerely complimenting my blog. This one had a guy’s name, and an excerpt from the post I’d completed mere minutes earlier.

“What in the world?” says I. “Someone stole my idea. And they wrote it in my own words!” I quickly approved the message so I could read the rest—after all, I could tell it was a great post.

Approving it meant that WordPress put the message in the comments section for Library Thing. When I clicked on the embedded link, it took me to a site where the same message was repeated, telling the world my write up about Library Thing was interesting and entertaining. Clicking on it gave me a popup window containing my own post. How weird is that? However, I write suspense/mystery stories, so I deduced that Googling the poster’s name would tell me whether I should believe he really thought my post was interesting or was just leading me on.

He’s real. A young man out West who writes for a newspaper, name withheld to protect his reputation, actually liked what I wrote. Or, he might have posted it in order to improve his Google ranking. I don’t understand how that works, and wouldn’t have thought of it on my own, but my research suggests it is possible a Spam program picked up my post based on key words and stuck it on a news site automatically. That’s what some pings do.

I choose to trust this man’s taste and honesty, so I’m believing that he complimented me instead of spammed me. We are now linked in mysterious ways that only a techie can understand. It’s not quite as special as a first date, and we aren’t BFFs (If that doesn’t mean Best Friends Forever, someone please tell me.)But he’s my first ping, and I ping him back.

Seriously, some pings and pingbacks are legitimate notifications that a post has been mentioned somewhere else, and a link back to the original is included there so other people can read the whole thing. Edited to add: I learn something new all the time! By embedding the link to the post about Library Thing, this posting is now pinging me, too. It feels sort of like I’m talking to myself…

Does anyone know if deleting the “pings” from my comments section will also remove the links that are embedded in the posts? Or can I delete the comments and keep the pings?

OK, so I’m convinced. I’ve been on Facebook for two years, ignoring it completely until pretty recently. And, you know, it really is a Very Cool Thing to reconnect.

High school friends and acquaintances, college and work pals — if you’ve been through a couple of reincarnations, you’ve got people out there you’ve not seen for a while.

For me, there’s family, high school, swim team, college, the Forest Service, a law book publisher, a magazine publisher, graduate school, freelance work, a newspaper, more freelance work, a book publishing workshop, a TV station. I am really enjoying the pings I’m getting from different aspects of my life. It’s putting them all together on Facebook that’s kind of weird. Indeed, I’m sure there are PhD candidates doing dissertations on the sociological implications of Facebook facetime.

Let’ em. I’m having fun reconnecting.

One of the reasons that I post so often to this site is that I am writing all of this down as it comes at me. It’s like my notepad. Like my journal. If I don’t put it down, well, I’m old and I tend to …..tend to……forget. Where was I? Oh yeah, last summer we went to ………..(smile).

I am planning dedicated posts regarding Twitter (as soon as I understand it better) but for now I offer you these two links that will take you to a couple of  Twitter dictionaries:

If you have looked at Twitter posts (Tweets), you will see that they are a jumble of letters and characters meaning absolutely………….nothing (smile). To me it looks like ASCII. And, yes, I’m so old that I actually remember ASCII. This is called “long term memory” (smile). Because you only have 140 characters per tweet, folks have developed their own language. I’m guessing it is much the same language as is found in texting. I have never texted. I will say this much for Twitter……….it’s fast! If you want to get the word out, it’s the ultimate “group send”.

One of the nice features of  WordPress is the dashboard. The dashboard, among other things, provides me with blog stats. This shows me how many times folks visit this site and what pages they click on. It also has a section that tell me what pages they clicked from to get to my site. This area has always been empty. Until………..yesterday (smile). I see a link and am at least smart enough to recognize part of the address which was Digg. So I follow the link and am pleased to find that someone has posted about this site. If you follow the link you will see that I am listed as the #1 site on Digg (smile). What? What do you mean that’s not a ranking? That means that only 1 person “diggs” my site!?  It’s a start (smile). Thanks again to Brian over at Navel Marketing! From what I can tell, Digg is a site where you can recommend other sites and then folks vote for their favorites. This raises another question? Why “digg”? I know that their are others like: del.icio.us!, stumble, & reddit. I know nothing about them but see their little icons………..everywhere (smile). What makes somebody choose one over another?

Which brings me to “pings”. Last night I get an email from WordPress asking me to moderate a “ping”. What in the heck is that? WordPress lets me look at comments prior to my allowing them to appear on my site and now it wants me to do the same for a ……………..ping? And, I can’t even understand what I am looking at or where it came from. Going to the help forum, I am seeing terms like: spam, hacker, thief, and porn sites. Comforting (smile). So, I “deny” it. This morning, I got out my trusty book and found that pings and trackbacks are ways that web sites tell each other that they are being linked to by another site. This leads me to believe that Brian over at Navel Marketing knew that I mentioned him because his web site told him I did. Creepy (smile). But what about this ping that I got? Turns out that there is something called “self pinging“, which is where you actually………….ping yourself. I had put a link in this one post that takes people to a different area on this site and I had up and done it to myself (smile).

Ping-Dienste und Ping-Server – mit Windows Live Writer pingen

Ping-Dienste nehmen jedem Blogger eine Menge Arbeit ab – sie sorgen dafür, dass andere von neuen Beiträgen in Deinem Weblog erfahren. Hier bekommst Du eine Schritt-für-Schritt-Anleitung, wie Du Ping-Dienste in Windows Live Writer eintragen kannst.

Ping-Dienste und Ping-Server in Windows Live Writer eintragen – so geht es in 5 Schritten!

Schritt 1 – Windows Live Writer starten

Zunächst einmal musst Du das Programm Windows Live Writer starten. Klicke hierzu auf Start -> Alle Programme -> Windows Live -> Windows Live Writer. Es öffnet sich der Startbildschirm von Windows Live Writer.

Schritt 2 – Optionen von Windows Live Writer aufrufen

Wähle in der Menüleiste den Punkt “Extras” und danach “Optionen” aus. Es öffnet sich ein neues Fenster mit den einstellbaren Optionen für Windows Live Writer.

Schritt 3 – Ping-Dienste aktivieren und eintragen

Wähle im Options-Fenster auf der linken Seite die Option “Pings an Server senden”. Auf der rechten Seite kannst Du nun – sofern hier noch kein Häkchen sichtbar ist – die Option “Pings an die unten aufgeführten URLs senden (eine URL pro Zeile)” aktivieren. Im unteren freien Fenster kannst Du nun die Web-Adressen der Ping-Server eintragen. Achte bitte darauf, dass Du pro Zeile nur eine Adresse einträgst!

Schritt 4 – Adressen von Ping-Diensten eintragen

Unter dem Webcode 547 » findest Du eine Liste aktueller Ping-Server ».

√ TIPP: Du kannst die Web-Adressen der Ping-Dienste kopieren, indem Du sie mit gedrückter linker Maustaste markierst, in die Zwischenablage kopierst (entweder mit der Tastenkombination “Strg + C” oder per Rechtsklick und dem Befehl “kopieren” im Kontextmenü) und sie im Options-Fenster wieder einfügst (entweder mit der Tastenkombination “Strg + V” oder per Rechtsklick und dem Befehl “einfügen” im Kontextmenü).

Schritt 5 – Änderungen übernehmen

Hat alles geklappt? Schließe das Options-Fenster per Klick auf “übernehmen” – fertig!

Zukünftig wird Windows Live Writer alle eingetragenen Ping-Dienste automatisch über neue Beiträge in Deinem Weblog informieren. Viel Spaß beim Bloggen!

Kurz erklärt – Die Funktion von Ping-Diensten und Ping-Servern

Ping-Server nehmen Meldungen über neue Beiträge in einem Weblog entgegen und informieren andere Weblogs oder auch andere Ping-Dienste über diese neuen Beiträge. Weblog-Dienste wie WordPress oder Blogger pingen automatisch – zumindest den eigenen Dienst. Je mehr Ping-Dienste über einen neuen Beitrag informiert sind, desto bekannter wird Dein Weblog und desto mehr Besucher gelangen auf Deinen Website.

Ping-Server – Eine Zusammenstellung aktuell verfügbarer Ping-Dienste

Nachfolgend habe ich Euch eine kleine Auswahl von Adresse aktuell gültiger Ping-Server zusammengestellt. Bitte übernehmt die Webadressen genau so, wie sie aufgeführt sind, d. h. auch mit den “/” am Ende der jeweiligen Webadresse. Ansonsten können diese Ping-Dienste keine Mitteilungen über neue Beiträge eines Weblogs empfangen.
