Che bello ritrovarvi, devo dire che mi siete mancate tanto!!

Io mi sono riposata e rilassata, ne avevo bisogno, e ora sono pronta a rimettermi all’opera con nuovi stimoli e nuovi progetti.

La mia stagione preferita è alle porte , adoro l’autunno per quella  atmosfera così suggestive e i suoi caldi colori, e poi la sera è bellissimo sedersi di fronte al caminetto accesso…non vedo ‘ora…..

E ora che la temperatura è decisamente più gradevole, invoglia a riprendere l’ago in mano….. e dato che ha ricevuto, vi mostro cosa ho realizzato per Manuela in occasione dello Swap Boscoso organizzato da Penny:

Davvero delizioso questo pinkeep primitive, che mi ha colpita subito per la sua originalità:

“Mary Black Shoe Pinkeep” ricamato su lino crudo che ben si adatta per questo genere di progetti:

Credo proprio che sarà uno degli ultimi lavori per questa estate, il caldo e la stanchezza dopo un anno di lavoro si fanno sentire, molto presto riporrò i miei amati attrezzi  da ricamo per una lunga pausa vacanziera, ma prima di ciò avremo modo salutarci.

Pour l’anniversaire de Véro B., dont le pseudo est AprilBlue … quoi de plus évident qu’une petite broderie printanière ? Les nouveautés Prairie Schooler parues récemment m’ont particulièrement séduite, et mon choix s’est porté sur ce petit diagramme carré idéal pour la confection d’un pinkeep.

For my friend Véro B., aka AprilBlue, it stands to reason that a spring stitching would please her. I was really enthusiastic about the new Prairie Schooler charts, and I picked this square design in the “April” leaflet, ideal for a pinkeep.

au dos, un tissu déniché au Point de Croix-Rousse, un petit repli permet d’y nicher une pochette d’aiguilles ou de petits ciseaux.

I have found this fabric in one of my favourites downtown stores, “Le Point de Croix-Rousse“. A fabric fold enables to store pins packets or a small pair of scissors.

Les couleurs choisies, comme d’habitude dans les diagrammes Prairie Schooler, sont superbes …

C’est une adaptation très libre -au niveau des couleurs- du diagramme de Françoise PRAX, “Abc bord de mer” que j’ai choisi de broder pour l’anniversaire de Cathsotte.

Du marron et du bleu au lieu du traditionnel rouge de ces miniatures si joliment compilées dans le livre éponyme de la créatrice de la Société “Alphabets” à Toulouse.

It was Cathsotte’s bithday a few days ago and I picked this cute chart from the latest book of Françoise PRAX, “Abc bord de mer”. Usually the charts published by the famous designer of “Alphabets” in Toulouse are stitched one over one in red silk, well, I had it all wrong this time … I stitched it one over two, with two colours, brown and light blue …

En fait je suis partie de ce galon brun et bleu … choisi les moulinés DMC dont les couleurs s’en rapprochaient, retrouvé des épingles à tête nacrée et le tour était joué, un nouveau pinkeep qui part dans le Nord-Ouest de la France ! Le plus dur fut de choisir un motif à broder dans ce livre qui regroupe tant de jolies idées. Je procédai par élimination, écartant les motifs trop hivernaux ou “automnesques” … Ce n’est pas encore l’été, mais ces poissons et ce bateau m’ont séduite !

Arrivo a casa, entro dal cancello con la macchina e scorgo la cassetta della posta….fuoriesce un pezzettto della ormai strafamosa busta gialla cicciosa, sapete bene come ci si sente…, una scarica di adrenalina corre lungo la schiena….non resisto e prima ancora di entrare in casa la apro…..Lizzie mi ha mandato una meraviglia, rimango a bocca aperta,  un altra delle mie passione è il primitive, e guardate cosa ha realizzato per me:

è stupendo, lo adoro, grazie infinite Lizzie, l’ho già messo ad occupare un posto d’onore nella mia stitching room!

Stamattina sembrava che il tempo ci concedesse una tregua dalle copiose pioggie degli ultimi giorni, ma praticamente dopo pranzo iniziava già ad annuvolarsi, e allora per allontanare la nostalgia del sole cosa c’è di meglio che preparare un ottima ciambella ai fichi secchi e cioccolato:

TGIF! Yippee, I ran into town this morning to pickup work and there wasn’t any. I know that could be a bad thing if it were a regular deal, but it’s a great thing for this particular Friday before Christmas and it works for me, baby! So, I ran by the bookstore and found a couple of treasures and did some mailing and drove back home. Now I am going to do a teensy bit of blogging and then into the studio to sew Daisy a new dog coat out of some Pendleton blanket mill ends. I have a whole sack left of these mill ends and think it’s about time I used them up–but down to odd sizes and designs so what to do with them? I am going to make my Daisy-doo a new coat. Baby, it’s cold outside! She needs a better one and hates her “parka”. She won’t move with it on.  So…. I woke up in the night thinking of this idea–wool pinkeeps out of the Pendleton mill ends–small little hassock type ones weighted in the bottom with rice or beans, etc. I found a great book I have on pin cushion designs and got some great ideas. Then, what is really perfect about this is that I will stuff them with wool batting (from my sheep) and wa-la, got 100% wool pinkeep! Perfect for those shiny pins that stay sharp! Do you ever have a good “dreamy” craft plan that you’ve got all worked out in your sleepy mind and it’s just perfect?? Often I will wake up with a whole concept rolling around in my head meant for the studio but there I lay in bed with DH fast asleep and I don’t want to wake him up to write it down, etc. Even if I got up he would wake up. But, I really don’t feel like getting up when I have these brainy sleeps–I just want to remember it in the morning when it’s time to get up. Sometimes I will go back to sleep and wake up and the whole big “plan” is vamoose! Hard to believe when I have every detail worked out in my brain while laying there in the dark. It’s weird but kind of fun…it’s like sleep power. I’ve learned to write things on sticky notes in my nightstand drawer…even in the dark if I can jot down a word or two to remind me, it helps.

J’ai profité de l’occasion d’une rencontre de brodeuses à Lyon pour remettre à IsaE son cadeau d’anniversaire … un pinkeep brodé d’une petite grille gratuite de Jackye, créatrice d’ A mon ami Pierre.

A few days ago a bunch of stitchers gathered in Lyons for a meeting, among them IsaE, coming from Paris area. She recently had her birthday so I offered her this pinkeep.

Ég er búin að vera að dunda mér við þessa litlu mynd í nokkra daga. Ég heillaðist af henni þegar ég sá hana á blogginu hjá Eddu þar sem hún var kláruð sem nálarrúlla og er búin að vera á leiðinni að sauma hana síðan. Ég var ekki alveg viss hvað ég ætlaði að gera úr henni en endaði á að gera pinkeep þar sem að ég átti efni í bakhliðina sem passaði fullkomlega við munstrið.

I´ve been meaning to stitch this design for a while and finally got around to it. I wasn´t sure what to make of it but ended up making a pinkeep since I had the perfect fabric for the backside. I´m very happy with how it turned out.

J’adore les nuances du fil utilisé, “Chemin de Traverse” de Pomme de Pin, passant du bleu au vert avec un peu de rose également !

I love this Pomme de Pin variegated cotton thread, called “Chemin de traverse”, with beautiful colour changes from blue to green, and with some pink too …

J’ai placé une dentelle ancienne autour du pinkeep, ainsi que sur la mini-poche au dos, qui permet de ranger des petits monstres. Des perles assorties sont piquées à certains endroits sur la tranche.

There is a small pocket at the back of the pinkeep, for a tiny pair of scissors I have used the same vintage lace ribbon around the pinkeep and at the back. Some beads in the same tone as the stitching have been pinned on the edge.
 

I used a portion of the chart “How Does your Garden Grow” (cross stitch version) to stitch this mattress pinkeep.    Algerian eyelets decorate all the side.

I was honored to receive Carol’s name in the SBEBB “Summer House” exchange. My immediate thought was to stitched a Little House Needlework’s House for Carol (gee, big surprise, there, right?), but I thought that was so predictable (coming from the woman who has stitched almost nothing but LHN designs in the past year!). So, when I saw this Prairie Schooler chart at my LNS, I knew it would be a nice change of pace. Carol is always stitching those gorgeous little PS scissor fobs, so I thought she might be a fan of PS.

This is “Summer” from “Country Seasons”. I stitched it on 28 ct. Natural Pearl linen, using the recommended DMC threads. I finished it as a pinkeep (who knew?). It’s backed with a pale blue & green checked silk fabric.

In the package, I included some GAST threads in pretty, pale colors; a box of note cards, and some overdyed linen from New Zealand.

I just love this kind of trim! It’s the perfect size for the depth of the pinkeep.

When I first saw this piece, I knew I had to stitch it as I love the pinks, and I had just the person to send it to. My mum let me know she received it. I think I’m going to have to stitch this one again, and keep it for myself!

Ég bjó til þennan Pinkeep fyrir Lindu í Pinkeepskiptunum í Allt í kross. Það er frekear fyndin tilviljun að við vorum dregnar saman. Þetta er fyrsti pinkeepin sem ég geri og ég held hann hafi bara heppnast vel. Efnið sem hann liggur á er efnið sem er á bakhliðinni.

Ég skilaði pinkeepnum í seinna laginu. Ástæðan er að litli voffinn okkar hann Patti er búinn að vera týndur núna í rúmar 2 vikur. Öll leit hefur engan árangur borið og maður hefur ekki getað fest sig við neitt annað en að leita eða hugsa til hans. Ég læt fylgja með mynd af Marín og Patta á góðri stund. Marín var að horfa á teiknimyndir og Patti steinsvaf í fanginu á henni á meðan. Við þráum ekkert heitar en að finna hann aftur og koma honum heim í hlýjuna og öryggið. Svo yrði hann að sjálfsögðu knúsaður endalaust.
