Improv Everywhere, a group based in New York City is well known for their urban pranks executing all kinds of missions that causes scenes of chaos and joy in public places. The latest mission is the Human Mirror where identical twins are installed at each end of a subway train creating a sense of confusion to onlookers. Each set of twins would mirror the actions of the other e.g. if one scratches his head, the other would follow suit and if asked what was going on, they are to claim to not notice anything unusual.

När man börjar komma till åren, som ju jag gjort, är det lätt att gå miste om alla subkulturer som unga (“kidsen”) utvecklar för att revoltera mot samhället. På min tid tog det sig uttryck i att man lyssnade på Dia Psalma och kanske skrev KUK på sin skolas väggar. Dagens ungdomar hittar på annat för att utmärka sig:

Så den här frågan riktar sig till alla yngre läsare (eller de som ligger med dom): Vad är grejen med reflexvästar, vad är det tänkt att detta mode ska uttrycka för känslor eller statements?

Vore bra om “någon” kunde svara på dessa frågor, så att jag blir klokare på det här, kanske “någon” som “själv” är “inblandad”.

Rolled it over two hundred thousand miles on the odometer, that is.  Saturday afternoon, about 3:30.

I bought the car on April 25, 1994. That’s 15 years, 7 months, and 4 days. Spreading 200K miles across 5697 days gives just over thirty-five miles a day. Not bad for a car that still zooms and travels nicely – our recent trips to Knoxville and Cleveland were in this reliable machine, and I’m getting around 30 miles per gallon in normal driving. It’s getting a decent amount of body rust, but it’s still a great car. Definitely not a clunker, by anybody’s description.

As one who was awed as a child by the pix of the coelacanth found in 1938 off the coast of South Africa, and as a bit of a fan of Shreikback’s 1985 album Oil and Gold, I think this photograph of baby coelacanth by Japanese scientists off Sulawesi Island, Indonesia earlier this month is pretty effin cool!
