Listening to The Reckoning by 30 Seconds to Mars.  I personally can’t stand Jared Leto, even though I do like the band.  He was fine when almost no one knew who he was.  Now, he’s a prick.  Rates up there with Megan Fox imo.  I’ll stop now, don’t need to waste my energy on a vapid vacuum.  Hmm, Vapid Vacuum…that’s good.  I do love my alliteration.

It’s a well known fact that boots = sex.  Ask any man alive and he’ll probably confirm this.  These thigh high boots from J’s are sex times 10.  They come in three heights, this is the highest, but they’re all rather daring.  And, of course, it comes in a long list of colors as well as two separate fat packs.  So if you’re looking to spice up a short skirt or dress, I would say these are the boots for you.  Or you can be really daring and wear them naked.  Something I might do later.

So I’m still going through my stuff from the black 50L Friday.  I have to say, I’m very impressed with how well it turned out.  Too bad I’ve been too busy/sick to look through it until now.  I’m loving this Pididdle leotard.  Simple, yet deadly.  And the tat from Plastik is honestly one of my new favorite tats.  I had a friend in college, liked to travel.  The last year I was there she came back from Phuket with two half-sleeves of Buddhist Sutras hand chiseled into her flesh.  Obviously, it was the most painful experience in her life up to that point.  However, she recalled it as her most rewarding and disciplined moment.  Ever since then, I’ve had somewhat of an obsession with the more “archaic” methods of tattooing.  So, of course, with that rustic look to it, this tattoo appeals to me.

Black Friday… my cue to stay off the roads, huddle up on the sofa, and read a good book.  Or in the case of this year, to work.  Never have I been one to brave the hordes and fight the frenzy to save a few extra bucks in the real life grid.  In fact, never have I been a huge fan of shopping at all, in that alternate world we like to call real life.  However, this year, I decided to change things up a bit, shop till I dropped, black friday style… in SL!  And boy was it worth it, 50L  Black Friday was a huge success!  While many fridays I find less than a handful of goods to add to my collection, this one… I found TONS!  And not all of them are even pictured here.  Showcased this week, are the amazing boots that Surf Couture put out for.. thats right… 50L!!! Aren’t these boots absolutely gasm worthy? Available in any color you might want to complete that cold weather friendly look, these red holiday sweater print ones are definitely my choice, and even better when you save $L getting them! The bag from Tres Blah, also one of my favorite features, is flawlessly ruffled and adorably animated.  The glasses, also tb, are just as adorkable as the bag, and add the right oomph to this skin… FABULOUSLY FREE FROM FREE SPEERIT!  Join the Free Speerit group, and check the notices, and you too can be glowing gold with Fiona.  Sh*t Happens released 4 sets of tights, in 13 colors each!  Lamb, really blew me away with their 50 L Friday releases, 3 styles of hair, this one, being my favorite by far.  Vivid color, edgy cut, unique in its styling… Whoop Dee Doo lives up to its name.  The knit cap, hard to see, is from Epoque and I love love love it, for 50 L, it changes color, and fits so perfectly over several styles that most fashionistas like myself have lingering in their inventory.  caLLie cLine released these cute antlers for the event, which, are far better than any pair of antlers that I have from former years of Christmasing about the grid, along with this giant black rock ring.  With the tweed jacket from Fishy Strawberry, and cord skirt from kyoot (not 50L friday in this color), the look completes itself… and my seasonal kick off!

Today is seemingly Black Friday – which sounds like a disaster to me, but apparently is a good thing in the US – the first day proper of Christmas shopping.  To celebrate today’s 50L Friday is pretty massive – although it probably should have been called “hairy birdy Friday”!  Anyway, here are just a few things I found today – click the 50L info sign in any of the participating stores to get a full list.  I’m only crediting 50L items on this post – if there’s anything not credited you’re interested in, leave a comment & I’ll reply.

Mega -pro…..produk honda yang satu ini memang dirancang untuk satu kelas di bawah Tiger, motor keren empat tak ini memiliki lima percepatan yang dirasa cukup untuk melaju kencang jarak jauh pada setingan standar service resmi honda dimanapun itu berada.

Kebetulan pula saya memiliki megapro yang saya beli bulan april tahun 2008 kemarin. Dari berbagai sudut pandang saya masih menganggap motor ini lebih dari sekedar lumayan, beberapa alasan saya antara lain :

• Irit, Rp. 18.000,00 untuk perjalanan sepanjang 110 KM non stop
• Akselerasi yang lumayan meski tidak se galak produk milik yamaha….
• Top speed yang stabil… meski menuju ke top speed stabil itu diperlukan tenaga dorong yang ngeden
• Karburasi yang tidak banyak masalah
• Mudah bongkar pasang untuk keperluan modifikasi
• Desain yang ga ketinggalan jaman

Selama saya menjadi rider megapro ini, belum pernah sekalipun saya mengalami macet secara tiba-tiba di tengah jalan atau masalah masalah lainnya. mungkin dikarenakan saya merawat motor sesuai anjuran dari honda yang membuat megapro saya fine fine aja sampai sekarang. Perlu diketahui juga, untuk kampas rem belakang juga saya ganti setelah melewati jangka waktu 1,5 tahun pemakaian nonstop, maklum, rem roda belakang masih menggunakan tromol. Selain itu ban belakang  juga saya ganti setelah 1,6 tahun pemakaian dan tidak termasuk ban dalamnya, jadi ban belakang saya ganti ban luarnya saja dan belum pernah masuk tambal ban sekalipun, itupun juga dengan keadaan ban luar masih bisa dipakai tapi tidak layak jalan, karena surface yang paling sering menapak pada jalan sudah aus dan halus hehehehe

Sebelum saya lanjutkan ke paragraph selanjutnya perlu diketahui bahwa pemakaian megapro saya pakai untuk trayek solo – kudus maupun kudus – solo yang rutin dengan rata rata dua minggu sekali sejak pertama beli hingga sekarang. Kecepatan berkendara saya rata-rata 80 KM/H dengan kecepatan putar mesin tiap ganti gigi selalu di 6000 r/m. Solo – Kudus dengan jalur yang melewati Solo – Gemolong – Gundhi – Purwodadi – Brati – Undakan – Kudus, kadang bila jalan antara Purwodadi – Kudus sedang rusak parah, saya lewat jalur lain yakni Purwodadi – Sukolilo – Kudus. Sebagai informasi saja bahwa perjalanan solo – kudus adalah perjalanan yang menurut saya luar biasa, trayeknya keren, banyak tikungan tajam, naik turun perbukitan, melewati hutan gundhi, berpacu dengan Rela si raja jalanan (bis Solo – Purwodadi), scenery untuk sekedar sight seeing di perjalanan juga oke punya… terutama pas musim kemarau, meski terasa gerah dan panas hehehe

oke deh… langsung ke inti permasalahan. paragraf diatas sudah menceritakan plus – nya…. kini sudah saatnya untuk si minus beraksi.. karena ada yin pasti ada yang, ada awal ada akhir, ada positif ada negatif,  secara pemikiran tetua tetua jaman akhir adalah agar semuanya seimbang.  deal!

Kali ini akan saya kritik mengenai berbagai kekurangan dan kelemahan yang menonjol based on my megapro, saya katakan menonjol karena PARAHH bro!!

• Rasakanlah komstir bekerja, ketika anda melaju dengan kecepatan 110KM/H lalu anda loss gass untuk menukik tajam dengan bilangan perlambatan tertentu pada suatu tikungan, gerakan kemudi sangat tidak stabil dan cenderung membuat was was si rider, istilah dalam bahasa jawanya nggliyer yang sangat terasa sekali. Dan hal ini tidak hanya terjadi pada megapro saya saja, beberapa milik rekan rekan saya juga mengalami hal tersebut. Bila dibiarkan dan tidak ada improvement bisa membahayakan keselamatan pengemudi maupun penumpangnya
• Plastic part penyusun megapro ini ga se kuat yang saya kira, jauh berbeda dengan milik Yamaha maupun Suzuki, Plastic part yang ada pada Honda megapro terbuat dari resin ABS (Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene) secara spesifikasi resin bisa dibilang oke lah itu sudah cukup kuat untuk bahan body motor yang notabene berbeda dengan HIPS (High-impact Polystyrene) yang lebih murah tetapi juga lebih lemah daripada ABS. Yang menjadi permasalahan adalah desain yang kurang maksimal, beberapa saya sertakan foto sebagai gambaran problem Crack, Patah dan positioning locking plug yang kurang tepat, serta positioning antara elbow’s end dengan selebor depan yang mengakibatkan saking enaknya shock breaker depan sehingga membuat selebor bisa meluncur bebas bertabrakan dengan elbow’s end ketika melewati gundukan yang cukup tinggi dengan kecepatan tinggi…..pertanyaannya adalah…. Mengapa tidak ada stopper untuk shock breaker untuk mengantisipasi bertabraknya elbow’s end dengan selebor bagian tengah, dan itu terjadi pada motor saya.
• Tangki yang konturnya sangat susah untuk ditutup secara full face dengan sticker tambahan (maklum, saya ga puas dengan sticker resmi megapro hehehe) sehingga sangat tidak mungkin untuk ditutup fullface dengan satu lembar sticker tanpa harus memotongnya, dikarenakan saya nafsu banget untuk ganti sticker akhirnya saya terpaksa memotong lembaran sticker dan tahukah anda apa yang terjadi??? Sticker mengkerut dan posisi sambungan menjadi kelihatan… andai konturnya smooth dan ga banyak lekukannya… pasti dah no comment.
• Untuk roda standar (bukan cast wheel type) yang masih memakai ruji banyak material logam penyusunnya kurang solid sehingga dengan medan perjalanan solo – kudus yang secara annually dua minggu sekali dipake nglajo, berakibat pelek bengkong maupun oling yang harus musti segera di normal kan lagi ( di kentheng – dalam bahasa jawa) dan itu saya alami berulang kali.
• Desain kurang sip!, cos saya tidak dapat menemukan lokasi praktis untuk menempatkan mantol/ jas hujan dan peralatan repair praktis untuk jaga jaga bilamana musin hujan datang, maupun motor tiba tiba macet di jalan… maka terpaksa musti membawa tas kemanapun saya pergi…

The perfect dress, for the perfect shoes. I love myself a full black outfit, but not disregarding the fact I like it cool, modern, and a bitsy itsy cute. Sometimes, finding the perfect match for those killer shoes, is difficult. !Ohmai’s ’shift dress’, made for 50 lindens (black) friday,  is the one.  Match made in heaven, love at first sight. I am in LOVE with the simplicity and clean cut of this dress. It feels a bit of an oriental inspiration with an obvious futuristic feel to it, and a touch of soft discrete cuteness to it, only Anya could bring us. <3 joo anypoo! Früher schied die innerdeutsche Zonengrenze Kunststoffe, die aus makromolekularen organischen Verbindungen bestehen, in Plastik und Plaste. In der Sowjetzone nannte man die aus Polymeren gefertigten Gegenstände genauer noch Plaste und Elaste (Einzahl: Plast und Elast), gern untergliederte man zudem auch in Thermoplaste und Duroplaste. In den anglo-amerikanischen Besatzungszonen prägte sich die falsche Übersetzung des englischen Wortes „plastic“ für Kunststoffe ein.

Und so bilden sich bei dem kunst- und kulturfreudigen Ostzonler auch heute noch immer bedächtige Falten, wenn der westdeutsche Verkehrsfunk meldet, daß sich „Plastikteile auf der Fahrbahn“ befänden. O arme Plastik, die ihr Museum nicht mehr unbeschadet erreicht!

Natürlich könnte der Verkehrsfunk auch mitteilen, in wie viele Teile die Plastik zersprungen ist, ob es eine wertvolle Plastik war und ob sie wieder repariert werden kann. Aber die Meldung des Verkehrsfunks ist auch auch so immens wichtig: Damit die Plastik durch uninformierte Raser nicht noch weiter beschädigt wird.

Pemanfaatan kembali limbah botol plastik bekas air minum kemasan menjadi pot tanaman, bahkan lampu hias, sudah banyak dilakukan orang. Namun, baru David de Rothschild yang mencoba melintasi Samudra Pasifik yang ganas dengan perahu yang dirakit dari ribuan botol plastik. Ide ini mungkin terdengar gila, tapi De Rothschild benar-benar serius berlayar dari California, Amerika Serikat, ke Australia menempuh jarak 17.700 kilometer.

De Rothschild punya misi penting di balik perjalanan menantang bahaya itu. Dia berharap perahu botol plastik bekasnya, yang kini tengah dibuat di sebuah galangan kapal di San Francisco, akan mendorong daur ulang botol plastik bekas. Pria itu menyatakan bahwa botol plastik bekas adalah simbol limbah global.

Perahu yang akan digunakannya bukan rakit sederhana dari ribuan botol plastik yang disusun bersama. Perahu layarnya dibentuk menjadi sebuah catamaran, atau perahu berlambung dua yang keren. Kecuali tiang kapal, yang terbuat dari logam, semua bagian catamaran dua itu terbuat dari plastik daur ulang.

“Perahu ini hanya mengandalkan kekuatan layar,” katanya. “Gagasannya adalah tidak menambah polusi jenis apa pun ke atmosfer atau ke laut, apa pun alasannya, sehingga yang ada di atas kapal akan dibuat kompos. Semua akan didaur ulang. Bahkan perahu ini akhirnya akan didaur ulang ketika kami mencapai finis.”

Perahu plastik yang dijadwalkan berangkat dari San Francisco pada April 2010 itu dinamai Plastiki. Nama itu adalah tanda penghormatan kepada Thor Heyerdahl, penjelajah berkebangsaan Norwegia, yang pada 1947 berlayar melintasi Samudra Pasifik lebih dari 7.000 kilometer menggunakan Kontiki, sebuah rakit dari kayu balsa. 

De Rothschild adalah seorang petualang. Keturunan keluarga perbankan kaya Inggris itu adalah satu di antara beberapa orang yang pernah bolak-balik melintasi Samudra Arktik dan Antartika. Pada 2005, dia mendirikan Adventure Ecology, sebuah organisasi yang menggunakan ekspedisi lapangan untuk menarik perhatian terhadap isu lingkungan.

Dalam perjalanannya nanti, De Rothschild akan dibantu oleh tiga pelaut dan ilmuwan yang akan menjadi awak kapal tetap dan serombongan awak kapal yang akan dirotasi selama pelayaran tersebut. Plastiki diperkirakan mampir di Hawaii, Tuvalu, dan Fiji dalam rute menuju Sydney, sebuah perjalanan yang diperkirakan membutuhkan waktu lebih dari 100 hari.

Perahu layar plastik tersebut dirakit di sebuah galangan tua, tak jauh dari Fisherman’s Wharf. Di sana ribuan botol plastik soda berukuran 2 liter dicabuti labelnya, dicuci, dan diisi dengan bubuk es kering serta disegel rapat. Es kering akan menyublim menjadi gas karbon dioksida (CO2) dan menekan botol, membuatnya menjadi keras.

Lambung kembar perahu sepanjang 20 meter itu akan diisi 12-16 ribu botol. Panel mirip kulit yang terbuat dari plastik PET, yang didaur ulang secara khusus menjadi jalinan plastik, akan menutupi lambung kapal dan kabin kedap air. Kabin itu cukup untuk menampung tempat tidur bagi empat awak kapal. “Pada dasarnya panel ini terbuat dari material serupa, yang juga dibikin dari botol,” kata De Rothschild. “Kami membungkus busa PET dengan kain PET ini, kemudian meletakkannya di bawah vacuum untuk membuatnya hampa udara, mengepresnya dan membuat panel-panel PET panjang ini. Sehingga kapal ini secara teknis adalah sebuah botol raksasa.”

Dua turbin angin dan rangkaian panel surya menghasilkan listrik yang disimpan dalam baterai 12 volt. Listrik tersebut digunakan untuk menyalakan sejumlah komputer jinjing, sistem GPS, dan telepon satelit.

Menurut De Rothschild, hanya 10 persen badan Plastiki yang terbuat dari material baru. Dia menolak mengungkap berapa banyak dana yang dikeluarkan untuk membuat perahu tersebut. “Kami punya potensi untuk membangun sebuah kapal yang biayanya hanya sekian persen dari ongkos pembuatan kapal biasa,” ujarnya.

Dia juga berharap bisa menarik perhatian terhadap fenomena lingkungan Great Pacific Garbage Patch, sebuah kawasan samudra yang tertutup sampah hingga beberapa ratus mil. Kumpulan sampah di barat laut Hawaii itu pertama kali ditemukan oleh Charles Moore, seorang oceanographer, pada 1999, ketika berlayar ke Hawaii. “Saya tertegun. Sejauh mata memandang, yang terlihat hanya plastik,” kata Moore.

Perairan itu tertutup sampah berupa puluhan ribu potongan plastik per mil persegi yang terperangkap dalam arus pusaran North Pacific Gyre di kawasan itu. Selain kantong plastik, ada gantungan pakaian plastik, botol bekas, tutup botol, plastik pembungkus, bola voli yang kempis, sampai ban truk mengambang di sana. Polusi itu kini mengancam populasi burung-burung laut dan ikan yang hidup di kawasan tersebut.

Sebetulnya De Rothschild bukan orang pertama yang memiliki gagasan berlayar dengan botol plastik. Tahun lalu, Junk Raft, sebuah rakit terbuat dari sampah dan puing yang dibuat oleh Algalita Marine Research Foundation, berlayar menuju Great Pacific Garbage Patch. Lembaga yang didirikan oleh Charles Moore itu juga bertujuan menyoroti isu polusi plastik di samudra.

Meski demikian, De Rothschild menekankan bahwa proyeknya memiliki visi lebih besar. Tujuan akhir pelayaran Plastiki bukan sekadar mendorong orang untuk beralih pada energi bersih dan terbarukan, melainkan melihat limbah sebagai sumber daya yang potensial. “Kami ingin memamerkan produk yang dapat terus dipergunakan secara lestari, bukan produk sekali pakai,” kata De Rothschild. “Idenya adalah membawa Plastiki, membongkarnya seusai pelayaran, dan memasukkannya kembali ke sistem daur ulang. Sehingga Plastiki nantinya bisa dibuat menjadi jaket, tas, atau botol lagi. Seluruh bagiannya dapat didaur ulang.”

Dalam perjalanannya, yang disponsori oleh International Watch Company dan Hewlett-Packard, De Rothschild akan mengumpulkan sampel air, posting blog, foto, dan klip video kawasan tersebut untuk mempublikasikan bencana yang disebabkan oleh polusi plastik.

Dia optimistis Plastiki akan dapat menyampaikan pesan tersebut kepada dunia, meski belum dapat dipastikan apakah perahu itu dapat menyelesaikan perjalanannya dari Amerika Serikat ke Australia dengan sukses.

Walaupun beberapa pakar konservasi khawatir terhadap jumlah energi yang diperlukan untuk mendistribusikan botol plastik dan membuat Plastiki, mereka menyambut baik atas gagasan tersebut. “Apa pun yang menjadi berita dan membuat orang berhenti dan berpikir tentang plastik akan sangat menolong,” kata Betty McLaughlin, Direktur Eksekutif Container Recycling Institute. “Tetapi yang merisaukan saya adalah jauhnya jarak yang harus ditempuh perahu itu. Saya pernah terbang dari Los Angeles ke Australia, dan terasa bagai selamanya. Pelayaran ini amat berbahaya.”

Selbst in der übertechnisierten Informations-, Kommunikations- und Wissengesellschaft bleibt der Mensch was er war. Seine genetischen Verhaltensanlagen blockieren ihn im Handeln für ihn selbst, für eine langlebigere Zukunft auch der Menschen, die nicht direkt in seinem Umfeld leben und auch für die nächsten Generationen seiner Art. Es stimmt, die vorherrschende Form der verschleierten Kommunikation und das Unvermögen der Medienanstalten die Stimmen der Bürger einzufangen und den politisch Verantwortlichen zu präsentieren, lassen eine Evolution des menschlichen Sozialwesens derzeit nicht zu. Die Kommunikation mit den Bürger, also den gesetzlichen Auftraggebern der Politiker, die sich tatsächlich eine selbsterschaffene Berechtigung und Moral gegeben konnten, findet nur noch über Erhebungen von Fakten aus der Vergangenheit statt – Statistiken. Aus den zählbar und darstellbar gemachten Fakten, meinen die Institutionen der Politik, also damals die Ministerien und Behörden, heute die Thinktanks der Wirtschaft und Politik, Parameter erstellen zu können, die ihnen das Verhalten und die Akzeptanz der Bürger zu ihren Interessen anzeigen.

Das Bauchgefühl, das selbstwahrnehmende und deutende Unterbewusstsein (die Deutung der Informationen u. Neuentwicklung von Erkenntnissen durch Verknüpfung mit vergangen Eindrücken vollzieht sich während des Schlafes), dass mit dem Nervensystem und dem genetischen System enger verflochten ist, als unser vergleichbar beschränktes Bewusstsein, das übertönt wird durch die lauteren und grelleren Realeindrücke. Ein organisiertes bewusstes Handeln aufgrund der Erkenntnisse aus dem Unterbewusstsein, wird nicht möglich gemacht. Der “Bewusstseinsspeicherplatz” ist von Werbeeindrücken um Aufmerksamkeit in unserer Gesellschaft voll belegt (Musik, Geräusch-Logos der werbenden Firmen, Sexanreize die sich den Trieb zu Nutze machen, Konsum-Werbebotschaften…) – die totale Beschäftigung des Gehirns durch Sinneseindrücken (es bedarf nur zweier Eindrücke audio- und visuell). Im Zwiespalt zwischen den Bewusstseinströmungen werden wir orientierungslos, verhaltensgestört und handlungsunfähig – zurückgelassen?

Thanksgiving again. Who doesn’t love the idea of it? The idea, that is. Up until probably last week we were all excited to see distant relatives again, have a sit down meal and really get to catch up.

However, by now, a weekend of crowded grocery shopping, insane parking lots, nagging family members, traditions to follow, and an insanely large menu to be cooked all within the span of one or two days?

So! A shopping spree later, and I feel all better! Plastik’s Bael Special Edition skins are absolutely amazing. As you’ve probably seen, I’m always pale as the undriven snow, but these had such an amazing glow and vitality to them that I couldn’t resist, and the makeup options had me agonizing over which to choose for an hour. They come with three different sets of her artfully created elf ears, all matching perfectly, and an interesting set of eyes. The original version had the right eye blacked out on an eye layer, and a white contact for the left, but I’m a sucker for Poetic’s eyes still, so I just shifted the contact to the right and colored it black.

Cause who, cooking thanksgiving dinner, hasn’t decided that running outside is more enjoyable at one point or another?

The new Miel boots gave such a delicate look to the whole ensemble, as well as the airy feeling of the skirt, so I threw on a few dark, rich colors to get the feeling of Thanksgiving in. It really is a lovely time of year, even with the stress!

So, no matter what your family does, or how they irritate you, just remember. There are more shoes in SL to be bought.

Mic check, 1, 2, 3… Are you ready to rock? Well then get ready for some rocktastic goodness with the Shredder tanks and dresses from the Plastik!

For many rock ‘n’ roll is an integral part of life. It inspires them to do some kickass things both in real life and virtual life. It can make us sing along when we’re happy or cheer us up when we’re down. Rock also inspires us to create, if we are in fact creators. In this case, it has inspired the Plastik to design something spectacular once again. Today I am featuring the Shredder tank tops and dresses, and as you can see they are nothing short of amazing. It always surprises me when I see these designs because with SL’s horrible avatar UVs it seems nearly impossible to create clothes that actually look like clothes (and yes, I am an accomplished texture artist/designer myself).

Many times I’ve been in clubs or “dance halls” in SL and of the many, there are very few rock/metal type clubs around. Usually when you go to these clubs you find either goth/vampires or your typical blingtard guys and gals. Both look somewhat out of place with their outlandish clothing and they never seem to capture the true feeling of the music through their fashion. Aikea Rieko seeks to change this by offering us the Shredder line of tops and minis, presented in a beautiful array of colors and intricate fabric designs. They are a unique addition to the scene and bring back some of the true flair to the music connoisseurs hovering around that good old rock and roll.

As you may have noticed, I’ve been blogging over at the footwear expo blog for the last few days. Along with Anessa and Phoenix, I’ve featured just some of my favorite (and must have) shoes that you can now check personally at the shoe fair (or at the blog if you’re curious). Although I loved the change I still don’t want to neglect my little space here. I wanted to feature (probably) my last choice of shoe fair shoes, the ANEXX lace up boots. OMG, Machang arigatou!!! I have had a shoe overdose the last hours and it couldn’t get any better than this. It’s like christmas at my house now…hence this fun picture I wanted to share with you.
