Trans Studio Makassar adalah icon wisata baru di Makassar yang baru aja diresmikan pada tanggal 09 September 2009. Katanya sih, taman bermain indoor terbesar di Asia Tenggara. Letaknya dekat dari Pantai Losari dan Pantai Akkarena, tepatnya di kawasan Tanjung Bunga.

is the little shop, which called “Hallig-Kaufmann” where you can buy some eat, drink and other things what you need everyday.

It’s the only place where you can buy something on this island.

There is a cinema about  a storm flood, a tideland protection station, a souvenir shop, some restaurants, a telefon box, some cafès, a post box and (very important) a snack-bar

It’s called “THE CITY”

There are the only public toiletts.

A little play ground is there, too. One of six from the hole island. But not only for little children, also for teens.

Dare County is planning a new 11-acre park in Kitty Hawk. 

A county posting is seeking architectural and engineering services for the park which is planned for a parcel of land across from the town Fire Department on Kitty Hawk Road. 

As planned, the park will be adjacent to Kitty Hawk Woods and consist of:

• 1,800 foot walking trail with markers and benches
• Dog park
• Picnic area
• Skate park
• Play ground
• Double tennis court
• Basketball court

This would be a great addition to the area.  Applications will be opened October 30^th in Manteo.

This afternoon was a delight, my 3 yr old nephew was very patient with me today as I worked most of the morning on my computer. Finally after lunch around 2:30pm we were able to go out. Since I don’t have a car, we, once again had to find something local to do. I got directions from my sister for a nearby playground and we went for a walk. The weather today was very nice, comfortable for walking. It was warm, slightly over-cast but still very bright. Not too warm though, which was good because the walk to the park was about 20 minutes. My nephew was so talkative on the walk. He has so many questions! “Where’s that fire engine going?” “Why does the garbage truck make such loud noises?”  My favorite line of his today was “Hey TAKE IT EASY TRUCK you’re too loud!”

After it took us 20 minutes to get to the park, he swung on the swing for a few minutes, then played in the jungle gym for another couple of minutes then says “OK, I think we should go home now”. Ugghh! That’s it? I thought we’d be there for at least an hour! Walking back home wasn’t as enjoyable. It was sort of up hill and felt longer for some reason. It was nice to spend the afternoon getting to know him better though. I don’t get to see my nephew often.

When we arrived at home, I immediately started to work on dinner, I thumbed through the cook book for one of the recipes I had put a sticky on. And came across the Garlic Mashed Potatoes. I know that doesn’t sound hard, but I never tried them before so I wanted to make sure I did it right. Getting home made mashed potatoes to the perfect consistency is a ’science’ really. And Mmmmm… did it work out well, with the slab  BBQ of ribs! (No recipe needed for that, although I have picked up a few new tricks watching cooking shows occasionally.

Kari, Kathryn, and myself went over to the swing set at Park View Mennonite and connected with our youth, pondered a few things, and enjoyed a cool July evening.

I was recently reminded of a school reunion I attended last year while reading a blog entry at Ellouise Schoetler’s blog, “ElouiseStory”. I have never attended your typical high school reunion but had occasion to help assist in the organization of the reunion of my 6th grade graduating class from my elementary school last year. And it was a grand experience!

As I related to Ellouise on her blog, these were the kids that you spent all day, every day with in the classroom, and then played with most of them after school and during summer break for give or take, some six years. They were in a very real sense….family. I think we were fortunate to locate about thirty-four or so of those classmates out of a total of fifty, with some seven having passed away.

In the reunion booklet we put together we had a section titled “Memories” where the individual classmates submitted stories and comments about those years and the moments they remembered. And to the point of this post…..it is one of the cherished moments that I offer in the story related below of an event that took place during lunch recess during one of those wonderful years.

In those days almost anything of importance with respect to boys revolved around cowboys and so it was that most play involved those heroes of our childhood, along with the villains of course. And so it was on this occasion as is related below in the “true” account of the “Incident at Oak Tree Pass”!

My name is River Cale. I am just a little guy that lives with two great parents in Hoboken, NJ. I Have to say I have already have had a great life so far and can only imagine what the future has waiting for me! I just don’t think it can get much better… I mean, I have already been to Maui, Breckenrdge, CO and Toronto Canada… and I am not even 10 months old yet! Guess I am pretty lucky.

In Baguio, it’s pretty hard to get nice lighting due to unpredictable fogging. During this trip, in addition to that, clouds were overcast – so when the sun peeked, I just kept on shooting. I love how this batch turned out!

For those of you who check my blog often you may have noticed a drop off in posts lately. I have been super busy with the fall wedding season…and watching the Phil’s in the World Series!! Now that both are winding down I am going to do my best to catch back up. So here we go…

I have slowly been trying to get into doing more family and children portrait sessions and am very thankful to have friends who let me drag them all over the place to practice! This little munchkin is the daughter of two close friends I went to college with. If you scroll all the way back to the very first post you will see a picture of her at 3 months hanging in the cheese cloth. As you can see she has grown quite a bit since her days in the NICU and is now a healthy and happy baby who can’t sit still.
