One of the greatest Hack and Slash series of all time that I discovered first in 2008 through Skorch82 video-walkthroughs is about to get its third installment. I did not know what to expect from it. I was a big fan of the Soul Reaver series and after I have watched two videos of Skorchs guide I knew that I am going to like the God of War games, too. In 2008 I made my PlayStation2 ready again and bought me the two parts of God of War that I missed. I played 5 hours per day and finished both games inside one single week and I was still screaming for more! God of War III will come and now I get the chance to replay this two epic stories again on my PlayStation3.

A short overview

There is no need to explain the story of the game because it would spoil too much. All you should know is that you play as Kratos – one of Spartans greatest Warlords – but his fate condemned him to serve the gods and to obey their orders in reverse for everything he once loved. Terrible nightmares dont let him sleep most of the time until Athena offers his soul peace after one final task:  He needs to destroy Ares – the god of war.

The God of War games are well known for their varied gameplay. Most of the time you will slaughter, tear up and kill enemies in a very brutal and bloody way. You collect orbs of different color to regain health, mana and to upgrade your blades and force wich you need to unlock while playing through the game and solving tricky puzzles. The games won a lot of prices, including “Game of the Year” honors from the Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences and is listed in almost every Top Playstation 2 game ranking of admitted sites and magazines.

The game was re-released on the Playstation 3 this year in a Collectors Edition, featuring a trophy system and remastered for rendition in High Definition. I got it for 23 EUR in reverse for my Playstation 2 releases at GameStop and played it today. Lets see if the promotion campaign that promises “a much better experience of two greatest hits” is justified.

Collectors Edition

Lets get straight to the point: The Collectors Edition for PS3 is better as I have expected. You get both games, including all their features and mini games that were inside the original releases and every “Making of” episode + new “Making of” content can be found and viewed directly from the blue ray disk. The games itself were remastered f0r rendition in 720p HD. That means that every texture and model was edited and drawn again by hand to give the edges the look of a 2x AntiAliasing (AA cant be rendered by the PS3 graphics chip) and better sharpness. But there are still some weak points wich I dont like that much: All with the ingames engine premade cut scenes look as awful as they were in the original releases for the PS2. Only the animated videos beat their predecessor versions by far! The graphic inside the game looks a way better as before but always reminds you on the fact that the God of War games were first released on the PS2. Some textures look very blurry and misplaced, but this is what you need to accept if you buy a game that was mentioned to be played on a platform from the last console generation.

Please dont misunderstand me, the Collectors Edition is great and the games look really awesome and you can see that they put a lot of effort into the remastering. I only wish that they had put in a little bit more time into making it. The same goes for the trophies. I thought there were much more but until now I just see trophies for God of War I. The CE does not remove the old gameplay and the game’s atmosphere is still the greatest you will ever experience. God of War I and II are outstanding games that I really love to enjoy both a second time. It’s a dirty, brutal and violent world in wich Kratos lives and a MUST BUY for every fan and people who never had the chance to play the originals.

Bom quero só alertar que esse post pode levar um bom tempo, não sei se vocês sabem, mas é bem difícil escrever com uma ave satânica na sua mão esquerda (sem derrubá-la).

Você já assistiu O Grito? Que tal Espíritos: A Morte pode estar ao seu Lado? Se você já viu algum desses filmes por acaso já pensou em como é estar na pele da pessoa mal assombrada? Que tal experimentar a sensação em um ótimo jogo de PS2?

Hoje trago á vocês um game para ficar jogando sozinho no escuro, e o jogo não é Alone in the Dark. ¬¬

Fatal Frame III: The Tormented, um jogo no estilo de Alone in the Dark(Traduzindo: Sozinho no Escuro), com cenários estilo Onimusha 1.

Obs: Para quem não sabe Onimusha era para ser um jogo de terror, mas a CAPCOM viu que ele tava mais pra ActionRPG e resolveu muda tudo em Onimusha 3: Demon Siege e 4: Dawn of Dreams.

Neste game da serie não mudou muita coisa, você é uma menina indefesa cercada de espíritos malignos e sua única arma é uma câmera Polaroid… Você deve ter se perguntado: Câmera = Arma/ comofas/

Aparentemente, ao tirar foto do espírito você meio que espanta/aprisiona ele, e assim sobrevive por mais alguns minutos até o próximo espírito aparecer e você dizer “OMG, minha câmera ficou sem filme… fodeooo mossada”. XD

A única coisa que torna a jogabilidade do jogo muito chata é o fato da sua personagem ser muito lerda, mas muito lerda mesmo… O correr da garota parece andar, e o andar dela então nem se fala. O cenário também parece um reaproveitamento dos cenários de Fatal Frame e Fatal Frame II.

Fatal Frame é um jogo que realmente pode ser chamado de Survival Horror, ele da muito medo! É claro que você não vai conseguir sentir medo se estiver jogando ao meio dia com toda a sua família pé de chinelo feliz reunida ao seu redor né. Um dos jogos da serie Fatal Frame foi vitima de um processo porque uma garota desmaiou depois de um susto, logicamente que a Tecmo não teve que desembolsar um mísero dólar, mas a família da garota tentou processá-los mesmo sabendo que não ia dar em nada. Noobs lol…

Aqui vem uma informação um tanto quanto “interessante”… De acordo com a cultura japonesa do local onde foi criado o jogo, ele é baseado em uma historia real e a casa do jogo EXISTE!!! Dizem que o que aconteceu naquela casa é exatamente o que conta a historia de Fatal Frame (o primeiro da serie).

Gráficos (Ambiente): 8

O ambiente de Fatal Frame é um tanto quanto repetitivo e sombrio, mas é isso que deixa o jogo assustador, não tenho muito do que reclamar. Os gráficos são meio fraquinhos, mas graças a isso ele evita aqueles Loadings chatos.

Sinceramente, o PlayStation 2 agüenta gráficos melhores que esses, eles bem que poderiam ter feito uns espíritos mais assustadores né! Deixou a desejar…

Acho que o áudio do game foi muito bem administrado, é como eu disse no post do Shadow of the Colossus, as vezes o silencio vale mais que mil heavy metals… \m/

Historia: 10

Se eu fosse comparar o enredo do jogo com o enredo de um filme a nota seria 2, mas como é um jogo com a clássica historia de terror envolvendo uma garotinha assustadora mereceu um 10. Não sei como nenhuma outra produtora não pensou nisso antes. O.o

Controles (Jogabilidade): 3

Os controles são um pouco desajeitados? Bom talvez nem sejam, o problema é tentar controlar uma câmera fotográfica na cara do espírito quando na verdade sua vontade é gritar e nunca mais olhar pra ele. XD

A nota ruim aqui é porque os controles de andar são bastante desajeitados e como já disse antes a personagem é muito lenta para andar e correr.

Ponto Negativo:

A lerdeza da personagem mereceu isso.

Ponto Positivo:

É muito raro ver um bom jogo de terror por ai. Esse daqui vale a pena jogar. Ponto positivo pra ele!!!
