Hello everyone. Today’s post is a plea for help, and I sincerely hope someone out their can help me.

OK, I have been collecting the Disney Treasures DVDs since the first Mickey Mouse in Color set came out way back in 2000, wow that was almost 10 years ago. Well, last year Disney, in all of it’s mighty wisdom, decided to cut WAY back on production of the Treasure DVD sets. That’s fine and dandy, but one of those sets was the FORTH and FINAL DVD in the Donald Duck collection. Disney, why on earth would you sell a set with one of your biggest characters, in such short supply — especially when it is the final volume in a four volume set. Seriously, it just boggles the mind.

Well, as you probably can guess by now, I was never able to get a copy. What makes this even more infuriating is the fact that I saw a copy in Target the day it came out, but I decided to buy the 4rth season of Lost on Blu-Ray instead (funny enough, another Disney title). I just didn’t have the money for both, and I figured I could pick it up next week. Well guess what, UH UH. It was long gone next week, and I have never even gotten close to another copy. I even went to Disneyland to find one… AND I LIVE IN MILWAUKEE, WISCONSIN! To further exacerbate the issue, people went out of their way to horde every copy they could find and have been reselling them for over 100 dollars. I seriously saw someone selling 30 of these things in an auction on ebay the other day.

Folks, I am a HUGE Animation nerd. Not only do I have all of the other Treasure sets, but I have a whole collection of classic stuff — from Lonney Tunes, Tex Avery and classic Fleischer Popeye. The fact I can’t get a copy of this really depresses me. I know there are a lot more important things to worry about in the world; but Heck, it is the little things in this world that keep us all going. Not to mention, my absolute favorite Disney cartoon ever is on this set — “Trick or Treat”. It’s this amazing little short were Donald is a Halloween mizer who refuses to give his Trick or Treating nephews any goodies. Eventually a real Witch gets involved the the story, with hilarious results. It even has it’s own theme song that TO THIS DAY I still sing in my head when I am feeling down.

So that is why I am posting today folks. I hope that there is a kind soul out there, who after reading this post, wants to help me out. I would gladly pay you a fair price for the DVD. I would even be more than willing to offer you a few prints of my artwork and a copy of my newest book The Lava is a Floor. HECK, I will even dedicate my next book to you.

SERIOUSLY, I WILL DEDICATE MY NEXT BOOK TO YOU.

SO PLEASE, if there is anyone out there with access to a copy of the Chronological Donald 4 – Disney Treasure DVD, you would forever be my hero and make this 33 year old child a very happy boy.

Dear Friends…

As it turns out, our kitty, Monster, is much sicker than we originally thought. He is currently hospitalized for an advanced UTI. The risk that he won’t pull through the surgery exists, but Lenny and I are trying our hardest to stay positive. Unfortunately, the vet will refuse to continue treatment after today if we can’t come up with nearly $2,000.00 to pay for it. If he goes untreated he will pass away, and very painfully. I have already maxed out three credit cards for this, and am forced to reach out to my friends for help. If any of you can donate anything at all to help us save our kitty, we would be forever indebted to you. Those of you that know me know that it is very difficult for me to ask for something like this, and I can only hope that my doing so shows you how much I need you. My situation at home is in serious trouble, and I am reaching out for help. As most of you know, I’ve been living with my parents while trying to get on my feet again. It seems that I have overstayed my welcome, because coming home now means explosive arguments and a general deterioration of my sanity while I try to stave off the eventual nervous breakdown that will happen if I don’t get out of here soon. It was brought to my attention by my therapist that they are in fact alcoholics, and that attempts at relating with them will always fail until they take control of their problem – which is highly unlikely since they are in their 60s and have always been this way. Needless to say, it’s a toxic environment for a mother and child. I can afford $400-$500 for a room in a welcoming home, and although I can pay deposit it would help me a great deal if there could be flexibility or trade involved with that. I am in training for a job that will start to bring me a decent income in roughly 6 weeks, but right now funds are tight. I am happy to help with childcare or housework and cooking. I am training to become a Natural Chef so this would be very helpful to me in my education as well. Where I am now I cannot cook because all my attempts are met with ridicule and many restrictions, since my parents seem to despise the idea of healthful cooking and living. A temporary situation would be helpful, though a long term one would be preferable.

I reach up to the heavens and ask the spirit of the universe to grant me swift passage through this trying time. I am lovable, I am loving, and I am loved. I deserve to be happy, and I deserve to be respected in my home. I deserve to take care of my child to receive help when I need it. May it be that we land safely.

貓殺手入侵深井三流浪貓遭毒殺

深井區三隻流浪貓被人發現倒斃於廣場對開路邊，懷疑遭毒殺。有貓義工擔心殺貓歪風吹入區內，繼續有可憐貓咪遇害。該區區議員表示，首次接獲流浪貓離奇死亡個案，現正着手調查事件。
口吐白沫倒卧路邊 上周三(二日)凌晨六時許，有街坊發現兩隻成年貓和一隻幼貓奄奄一息，倒卧深井陳記廣場對開路邊位置，口吐白沫，更有失禁迹象，懷疑中毒，在場街坊憂心不已，卻愛莫能助，三隻貓咪最終失救死亡。在附近進行清潔的工人見狀，將貓咪屍體棄置垃圾箱處理。
對於三隻流浪貓無故死亡，區內愛貓人士、居民兼貓義工羅先生認為，該三隻貓相信並非自然死亡，擔心貓殺手已入侵區內，並會繼續犯案，於是立即聯絡荃灣郊區東區議員陳偉明跟進事件。
區議員正調查事件
陳偉明表示，首次接獲區內流浪貓懷疑被人毒死個案，現正派員向廣場職員和街坊了解事件。他又透露，不時接獲區內居民投訴流浪貓滋擾民居，惟仍需時進行觀察調查。
貓義工羅先生指出，區內的海韻花園和陳記廣場，都參加了愛護動物協會的動物絕育計畫，並與香港貓咪俱樂部合作，為流浪貓絕育，義工會定期餵飼流浪貓，希望減低流浪貓數目之餘，亦能令居民對流浪貓「具攻擊性、愛到處翻垃圾」的印象改觀。
他希望事件純屬虛驚一場：「大家知道有貓懷疑被毒死，心中也不好過，無論如何，大家都不應將不滿發泄在牠們身上。」記者李凱琳

I went to Old Navy this weekend, and they are selling some super adorable NFL football logo t-shirts. I was totally going to get one, except they are in the men’s department, and men’s shirts tend to make me look like something of a football player myself. (bigger shoulders and hips + smaller waist = no baggy shirts, high empire waists, trapeze styles, etc.)

Moving on… Let’s talk about my shirt successes. Yes, plural.

Ok, first, I bought the retro Bucs shirt, and I was all excited to wear it for the season opener. But then the NFL Shop told me the shirt wouldn’t be delivered for a month! Which would mean I wouldn’t get it until after the season started! Not acceptable, of course, so I ordered a second shirt. Desperate times, right?

But then? After purchasing the second shirt, I got an email saying the retro Bucs shirt had already been shipped. What? But no worries–I decided to just see them both in person and return the shirt that I liked less. Easy peasy. Two choices are better than one.

Only thing is, I don’t like either shirt less. I like both shirts more. So I kept both. Let’s all pretend I can afford two new graphic t-shirts.

And for the record, I’m not crazy posing in this picture, I’m just entire unskilled at taking pictures of myself with my broken camera. This one shot took about 12 tries. There were many pictures of walls and the floor. Let me know if you’d like to see them. My floor is hardwood.

1) Light blue is more flattering than yellow to everyone’s skin tone. (Or, um, mine at least.) (And Rue McLanahan’s.)

Heidi, welcome to the world of fantasy football! I think you’ll love it.

As for team names, there are a few different ways to go:

• Base your team name on your favorite NFL Team. If there is an NFL team that you are passionate about, you can name your fantasy team after them. For instance, I named my team in my secondary league this year Buc’n Great! That’s because I’m a Bucs fan. Friend Kevin’s team this year is called the Shirtless Pats, because he follows the Patriots. And likes them to not wear shirts. If you happen to follow the Browns, you can go with something like Cleveland Rocks! (exclamation points are totally allowed) or Browns Sugar.

• Base your team name on your favorite player. Another member of my league has named his team Johnny Ballgame, after John Elway. He is a Broncos fan in general, and an Elway fan in particular. Because really, is he going to name his team after Kyle Orton? Probably not. Since it seems you are a Brady Quinn gal, you can try something like Brady Bunch or Quinntessential Baller or Mrs. Quinn’s Team.

• Make yourself laugh. I like to choose names that I think are incredibly funny. Please note that if you choose this naming convention, you shouldn’t expect people to read your team name and congratulate you on your superior wit. Because probably they won’t think you’re as funny as you think you are. (I learned this lesson many times over.) Last year I named my team Chiklis because I’m the commissioner of my fantasy league, and Michael Chicklis starred in the show “The Commish.” No one got this joke. No one. And yet, each time I think of this name, I laugh a little. And, yes, I do congratulate myself on my superior wit.
  And isn’t that what really counts?

• Show your love of the game. Lots of people choose something in the more vanilla rah-rah football category, like TD Champion! or Fantasy Phenom or Kings of Pigskin. Personally, I find these a little dull, but it’s always good to show a winning sense of confidence.

• Make a dirty joke. These are popular (particularly with men, I think), and so examples are way easy to find on google. I did a quick search, and here’s a tame but pretty funny example: Breaston Plants, in honor of Steve Breaston of the AZ Cardinals.

There are a million wish foundations, for children only with big illnesses. Why isn’t there anything for sadness and a difficult situation. When some kids may die, others may live enduring their pain. Through out their whole childhoods and furthermore.. bringing the same pain upon their children. and the cycle does not stop.

I have only one working parent, who is now diagnosed with schizophrenia. My mother abandoned me. We are 50 000 dollars in debt. We do not own any property. If my parent loses his job, we live on the street. My parent lies about things that he spends on.. and doesn’t realize that debt is bad. He ignores all his problems. He has been doing it for 10 years now.

My sister is a vicious, selfish egotistical person, who only cares to spend money on herself, no matter how bad the financial situation is.

I think to myself its not fair.  and no matter how much i try to help, it is impossible to change people.

I wish someone found me.. and just helped me out. but that never happens and when it does its always to someone else.. and fuck, i’d be so happy for them.

All I want right now in my life is to get out.. to go to college. To practice and become an architect. To build and create. And have a purpose to my life.

I want a childhood.

I’m only 15. I already had to be grown up and independent since I was 11. Life isn’t fair.

Sometimes I want to be dependent.. and rely on someone. And have things be easy.

But I just don’t know.

I would tell you my real name, but I’m ashamed of my situation and why I am here in WordPress. Please, hear me out. I would be so grateful.

My daughter and I are only a step away from living in the street. I had a good job in a hospital for several years, but then lost it when I had back surgery and then colon cancer. I sold my tiny little home to keep up my insurance, but after a year all that money was gone. While frantically moving I tore open the sutures from the colon cancer operation and had to have another operation to close them up inside. Then there were two knee surgeries. Then there was uterine cancer, instant menopause, and in spite of my determination to keep a smile on for the sake of my daughter, deep depression.

I am a single mother of 48 with only one child. I have done a good job of raising her. She’s a sweet, adorable little pal. But she has learning disabilities and, at the age of 22, is still completely in my care. I am on disability now, but it is not enough to afford us a place to live. All it does is pay the credit that keeps building as I search for work and try to stay afloat…and alive.

Of course, when the credit companies found out I was on disability and not making the $29,000 a year they thought I was, they all raised my APRs to 25%.

I look for work every day. I went back to school to learn my trade better, but so far it hasn’t gotten me work. Because of some old car accident injuries, there are a lot of things I cannot do. I’ve taken jobs that I wasn’t able to do physically and had to leave. I’ve done a little online writing that doesn’t pay more than a few dollars. I’ve robbed Peter to pay Paul every month for 5 years. I have applied for loans and been turned down.

I do not buy needless things. I have no desire for THINGS anymore. I would just like to stay alive long enough to make sure my daughter is okay without me.

The stress of being in $25,000 in debt is overwhelming, and I’m afraid it is literally killing me. I have not slept well in a thousand nights.

See, the problem is that there is so much stress I worry that the cancer will come back. I chose not to have chemo or radiation because I knew how expensive it would be. I had to weigh the odds. Thousands of dollars further into debt equals more stress, equals more cancer. Well, my window of opportunity for chemo and radiation is long gone, and the stress of the financial situation is still building…which is not good for my health at all.

My fear is first for my daughter. I have no money to get her help and she has no insurance. I have Medicare, but there is no money aside from the small disability check I get.

I need help getting past this debt so I can get on my feet again. The more stress I’m under the harder this is for me mentally, and the more likely cancer is to return.

I am living with friends now, but I am a burden to them. If I could somehow raise enough money to get out of debt, I might be able to breathe a little and find a way to start over. But as it is I go further into debt every day with these high APRs.

I’m not a loser! I want to win! If you have a job for me, I’d be happy to give it a try! I would rather earn my way than beg for help. It’s humiliating and it makes me FEEL like a loser!

This is the most humiliating, embarrassing, horrifying thing I have ever had to do…but I’m humbly asking for any donations you might be able to give. Praying and working odd jobs and spending so much time searching for jobs is not getting me anywhere. I will literally be on the street within a month. I don’t have the mental or physical strength to survive that. It will kill me…and I can’t do that to my sweet daughter who needs me so much.

Honestly, I wouldn’t mind just disappearing off the face of the earth, but I have a responsibility to this amazing daughter of mine. Giving up is not the answer…so I keep my head high and I laugh and I make everyone around me feel I’m just fine…while I die inside…where cancer lurks and waits to strike again.

Anything you can do to help would serve to put a scared, relatively intelligent, good person back in action…and of course help out this amazing child of God I am trying to support. And like I said, if you have a job for me I’m more than willing to give it a shot.
