Last night I played in my 3rd of the new Cash Out tournaments online at Full Tilt. The first was horrible. I cashed for my Buy in back in the 2nd and placed 5th last night. All 3 were in the 930 pm 5.50 buy in tournaments. These are still relatively new so I wasn’t sure how the pay out actually worked and was determined to find out. There was a starting field of 1389 players. So the buy ins are split into a main prize pool; for payouts and a cash pool for players that decide to cash out completely or in partial where they cash out in denominations of starting stacks. Due to this the actual payouts are low untill you get to the final table. At the final table any remaining funds from the cash pool are distributed to the final 9 based on their chip holdings going to the final table. These funds are immediately released to your account. Then you play out the table for the place share like a regular tournament. One neat concept is that if you are in the money of the tournament and cash out you get the cash out funds in relevance to your stack as well as the earings for cashing like a normal tournament.

It was a very long tournament as his was not a turbo. Full Tilt does offer a turbo in this type of tournament with buy ins from$20 to $100. The event started at 930 pm Eastern and I was out 5th at almost 4am!
I fell asleep 3 times!
There were several times in the tournie viewing the cash out area to see where I would fall if I cashed out at one point I was in 11th and the cash out + my tournament winnings were 200+ and I almost cashed out. I pressed on and was 8th to the final table netting $176.00 in the cash out pool. The final table was tough nobody budging and some great back and forth fireworks!! I eventually went out in 5th and added another 200+ to my total take for the tournament. Not bad for a $5 investment the tournament is just too long.
I would recommend the $20 turbo if your bankroll allows for it!

Sunday I placed 5th in a 1000+ player $3.00+.30 buy in NL tourney on Full Tilt. It was a good time and a lot of good players. I actually coasted in to 5th by basically folding or going all in from 9th. I was able to capitalize on the aggressiveness of two players who busted out when shoving with weak holdings into the chip leader who woke up twice with huge hands. In the end I lost when my AJ off met up with pocket 9s. I picked up $167 with my 3.30 buy in so I cant complain! This was a Knockout event and I also scored 6 KOs which was $3.00 back which made my buy in so at that point I was actually freerolling in this No Limit Texas Holdem event! If you dont have a Full Tilt account sign up here at WDIAV and request Rake Back.
Have you heard of Prop Players? Apparently a relatively common practice in casinos, online poker sit

Have you heard of Prop Players? Apparently a relatively common practice in casinos, online poker sites are employing prop players as well. For those of you unfamiliar with the term, Prop Players are employed by the casino and paid hourly to play poker. Their job is to start tables and help get action going. They play with their own money so they are supposed to be legit. For more info, check out Shirley Rosario’s article What is a Poker Prop?

To confirm that online sites are using Props, here is a transcript of a chat with Absolute Poker rep (as shared by Richard):

Welcome! An online representative will be with you shortly. You are number 1 in the queue. Your wait time will be approximately 0 minute(s) and 9 seconds. Thank you for waiting.
You are now chatting with ‘Carolina’
Carolina: Hello! Thank you for contacting us! How may i assist you today?
richard: why does your software find a way every time to rape players like me
Carolina: what do you mean?
richard: in other words why do i get fuckin screwed over 95% of the time when i go in with the best of it
Carolina: all our games are fair to all the players, note that the cards are dealt at random by a number generator
richard: random
richard: are you sure about that
richard: if it was random then why do i get the same value cards dealt to me 3 4 5 times after each other
richard: why do i see flops off 333, 444, 555 etc
richard: why does your system always favour the bigger stacks over 90% of the time
richard: and you say that its random
richard: why have i not had a reply off ecogra
Carolina: we constantly being audited by the kahnawake comission
richard: yes and the kahnawake have been cheating there customers on quite a few occasions
richard: have u heard about the ap and ub scandal
richard: cause u have
richard: can you tell me why there was cheating going on at this site
richard: well if you cant then i shall tell u
richard: its because its as corrupt as hell
richard: whenever theres alot of money involved theres goin to be cheatin
Carolina: that was an unfortunate situation and all the affected players were properly refunded
Carolina: i can assure you that all our games are fair to all the players; however, if you have concerns or doubts about our integrity please send us an email to support@absolutepoker.com and we will gladly assist you
richard: another scrited reply
richard: scripted
richard: why do your lot always tell players like me to go somewhere else
richard: or write to somewhere else
richard: u like sending your players on a merry go round dont ya
Carolina: you can find information about us as well as statements of this matter at http://tokwiro.com/
richard: and you know aswell as i know that this site is full of shit
Carolina: We are owned by them
Carolina: sorry sir, but I am giving you information that is accurate
richard: yeah owned
richard: so them cheatin corrupt bastards have put u on a pice of string to tell customers like me a load of bullshit
Carolina: you will find the needed information there. Please let me know if there is anything else I can do for you
richard: so if they own you
richard: and there so confident about there software
richard: they would sponsor a player like me
richard: another thing
richard: the player on your main website page
richard: who won back to back tournaments yeah
Carolina: we do not sponsor players, we have professional players and prop players
richard: and what is a prop player
richard: are u saying u have house players
Carolina: Our prop players start new games and fill in games with empty seats as needed. These players are welcome to continue propping as long as their money holds out.
Carolina: Prop players compete entirely with their own money, are unaware who the other prop players are, and have no access to “inside information” that might help them defeat an opponent.
richard: lol
richard: who said anything about inside info
richard: your droppin yourself in it
richard: this site is fookin cheatin
richard: and u know it
Carolina: I’m just explaining you what a prop is, you asked me that
richard: but i never mentioned anything about players knowing inside info
richard: so that makes me believe now for sure that there is players who know iside info
richard: i cant wait to blog this convo
richard: why did you mention inside info
Carolina: As I mentioned, I was explaining you what a prop is and making that clear due to the question you made of having house players
Carolina: so I wanted to make that clear
richard: no, you know and i know that this site is cheating there loyal customers
richard: why have prop players
richard: theres no need
richard: thats a form of cheatin
Carolina: I just explained you it is to start tables, to keep action in the tables
Carolina: it is not cheating
richard: Absolute Poker Scandal – super user accounts, capable of seeing hole cards, winning at ridiculous rates, caught from an email slip up from the AB sending some hand histories erroneously…AB did refund some money (approx 1.2M USD)
Carolina: Richard, I’m going to have to ask you to please send an e-mail to our auditors or to pokersecurity@absolutepoker.com if you wish further information in regards to the scandal. We are aware it was an unfortunate issue, but believe me, we refunded every single affected player
Carolina: we implemented several new secruity softwares to prevent this from happening again
richard: explain
richard: what new things are there
Carolina: they can explain you better the systems we use
Carolina: Please feel free to contact them directly
richard: you try to explain
richard: what new things are there
richard: in place to stop cheating
richard: is there something to stop players colluding over instant chat messengers
richard: and mobile phones
Carolina: That is why I am telling you to contact Poker Security, they are in charge of that and they will be able to let you know exactly everything you need about this topic
richard: so u dont know
richard: after you telling me that theres new measures
richard: its all scripted responses where your sat isnt it
richard: those above you telling you to basically bullshit players like me
Carolina: You are contacting the Customer Support Department, I can handle everything in regards to your account, tournaments, account activity… but as far as Security systems and softwares is not my area
Carolina: that is why you need to contact our Poker Security Department
Carolina: to get the answers you need
richard: i have a question about a poker tourney
richard: why does your software favour the bigger stack over 95% of the time
richard: statistic speak for themselves
Carolina: our site does not benefit from any player winning or losing at our poker tables
richard: so your calling me a liar when i see for myself what is happening on your tables
Carolina: Poker is primarily a game of skill, but since luck is also involved, there will be times when you will get a bad run of cards. It is not possible for us to manipulate the outcome of the games, and even if it were, we would not engage in any activities that might compromise our integrity.
richard: another copy and paste scripted response
Carolina: I am not calling you a liar, I am just explaining you. Please do not feel attacked with my words, I am here to help you
richard: why you say attacked
richard: so thats saying you are attacking
richard: your callin me a liar
richard: do you play on this site
Carolina: because you said i was callin you a liar
richard: do you play poker on this site
Carolina: it is forbidden for us to play
richard: so how do you know that these games are fair
richard: just because some corrupt bullshitting bastard has told you so
richard: how does anyone know that these cards are shuffled
Carolina: because of the thousands of players we have and the winnings they make, working here gives me the capability to know that it is fair
Carolina: I am going to ask you to stop using that language
Carolina: I am being respectful with you
richard: no, your lying to me
richard: how comes then if it was fair
richard: ive been trying for ages to win a tournament
richard: and then i see on your website that a player has won back to back tournaments
richard: statistically immpossible
richard: you can determine who wins these tourneys
richard: thats what i think along with thousands of others
Carolina: Richard, we wouldn’t have thousands of players if this was the case
Carolina: Please, if you come to get assistance, believe what I am saying you
Carolina: to you*
richard: no because those thousands of players do not open there eyes
richard: and most of them thousands work for this site
richard: and an industry thats worth 4 billion dollars you cant even give a decent bonus to a loyal customer
Carolina: I am really sorry you are having a bad experience at our site, I understand the way you feel. I do play at other sites and I get the feeling you are getting
Carolina: but that is poker Richard, sometimes you win sometimes you lose
richard: 4 billion industry and the bonus offers are totally shit
Carolina: we are not allowed to play here, we are all blocked
Carolina: We give rewards based on loyalty. Have you checked our Loyalty Program?
Carolina: the higher you go in tiers the more benefits you get
Carolina: so we do rewards players based on their loyalty and gaming activity
richard: but if im going to deposit and your system rapes me of my bankroll then whats the point
richard: your system finds a way every time to take money off one player to give it to someone else, mainly a newcomer
richard: to give him the impression that hes a good player
richard: no matter what opinion a player like me has, your site as an excuse for everything
Carolina: Sorry Richard, you are not right, and I am truly sorry you feel this way, but I know we manage a fair site and every player has the same opportunities. It is a matter of skill and luck
Carolina: perhaps you should evaluate your moves, or if you play too tight or too lose
Carolina: perhaps changing your strategy would help
richard: do you play poker
richard: online
richard: ?
Carolina: yes
richard: on what site
Carolina: Poker Stars and Cake
richard: screenname on ps
Carolina: i can’t give you that information
Carolina: it is personal
richard: why not
richard: what can i possibly get from a screenname
richard: ur name at the table
richard: i mean
richard: u know my screen name
Carolina: Because it’s mine and personal and I don’t feel comfortable sharing it
richard: but u know my screen name
richard: your lying again
richard: whats so personal about a screenname
richard: you could no someone who plays on this site then that doesnt work for the company and give them my details
richard: infact your could know 2 players that play on here that doesnt work for the company
richard: and give both my details
Carolina: I am not lying RIchard, I have no reason to do that
richard: ilmfao
richard: your working for a poker site
richard: thats your job to lie
richard: the interview that paul legget was giving on the tokwiro website
richard: he was bullshitting
Carolina: i will transfer you to my supervisor, please bear with us
richard: he wasnt makin eye contact most of the time
Please wait while I transfer the chat to ‘Maggie Davis’.
You are now chatting with ‘Maggie Davis’
richard: maggie davis
richard: ilmfao
Maggie Davis: Hello Richard
richard: why have i been transferred from one bullshitter to another
Maggie Davis: Excuse me?
richard: your gonna fill me up with the same shit
Maggie Davis: Richard, I have been following your chat while you were talking to Carolina
richard: and im not going through everything again to someone else
Maggie Davis: So I am aware of the situation
richard: your corrupt arent ya
Maggie Davis: No I’m not Richard
richard: you cheat players out of there cash
Maggie Davis: Please let me know how can I help you?
richard: why did the player win back to back tourneys
richard: whos featured on your website
richard: joboi
Maggie Davis: What do you mean by that?
richard: because your site can deterime the outcome that how
richard: thats
richard: well how many runners were in each tourney
richard: that this player played in to win both
Maggie Davis: Richard, I would like to put an end on this conversation. You were explained several times that we are not capable of controlling all these.
richard: here we go again
Maggie Davis: We are not cheating… Yes, we had an issue in the past, but it was corrected
richard: hitting a sore spot
Maggie Davis: So please, if there is anything else you need please let me know
richard: i want you to expalin something
Maggie Davis: otherwise I will have to end this session
richard: how many player were there in the 2 games that this joboi won
richard: players
Maggie Davis: What is joboi Richard?
richard: hes the player who recently won back to back games on this site
richard: u know exactly who i mean
Maggie Davis: There is no player under that name
Maggie Davis: What is your point?
richard: well if you answer my question i am going to get to the point
Maggie Davis: You are not giving me information
richard: how many runners were in the 2 games that he won back to back
Maggie Davis: I don’t know who you are talking about and which games you are referring to
richard: its not that hard to understand
richard: give me 1 minute
Maggie Davis: so if you give me accurate information I could know what you are talking about
richard: i’ll get u the info
richard: where do i go on your site for recent winners
Maggie Davis: You can see them if the tourney is still posted on the lobby as completed
richard: right
richard: when i sign into this poker site
richard: theres a pop up
Maggie Davis: With a winner… right
Maggie Davis: but that is for just one event
richard: and it states that this palyer won back to back tournies
Maggie Davis: Back to back? you mean heads up?
richard: no i mean 1 tournament after another
Maggie Davis: Do you think that is impossible?
Maggie Davis: or do you consider that cheating?
richard: well ive been trying years to win 1
richard: ive been trying everyway possible
Maggie Davis: As Carolina was saying, have you tried to evaluate the way you play?
richard: dont u think that thats a bit strange
Maggie Davis: cause thousands of players win tournaments on a daily basis, on an hour basis
richard: you still havent ansered my question
Maggie Davis: Not really, I mean, no offense, but there are incredibly good players out there
Maggie Davis: I just did
richard: how many runners were there in these 2 tournies that he won
Maggie Davis: I don’t have that information, could be 100, could be more, could be less
Maggie Davis: I understand where you are going, that how is it possible for someone to win 2 tourneys in a row with a big amount of players involved
Maggie Davis: and I answered that already
richard: you dont want to answer this because you know that your cheating fouckin corrupt bastards and this convo is getting bogged everywhere
Maggie Davis: Ok Richard
richard: blogged
Maggie Davis: That is enough
Maggie Davis: I won’t tolerate that language
richard: go fuck urself
Maggie Davis: GOod bye
Chat session has been terminated by the site operator

I placed 7th last night in the $10 + 1 KO tournament on Full Tilt. Prize money was $150.00. also still been playing in the “Take 2 ” promotion in which I haven’t missed a day of earning a point yet this month which will lead to $50 if I play 25 out of the 30 days. Goal to make $500+ this month and almost there. A great jump start from the We do it all Vegas event I have included the Take 2 info below as its not too late to sign up!!
Take 2 – Earn up to $50 and Double Points

Earn up to $50 cash AND double the number of Full Tilt Points you’d normally receive, during Take 2.

Take 2 runs from Tuesday, September 1st to Wednesday, September 30th. By playing at least two ring-game tables at the same time during Take 2, you’ll earn double Full Tilt Points on both tables. Play as often as you can during September and you’ll be rewarded with cash, up to $50, depending on the number of days you play.
Get up to $50 in Cash

The more you play during Take 2, the more cash you can earn. Reach four different levels depending on the number of days that you play and you can earn up to $50:

    * Level 1: Play for 5 days and receive $5
* Level 2: Play for 10 days to get $10, for a cumulative total of $15
* Level 3: Play for 15 days and take home another $10, a cumulative total of $25
* Level 4: Play for 25 days and you’ll earn an additional $25, for a cumulative total of $50

Earn Double Points on Both Tables

When you play two tables on Full Tilt Poker, you get twice the points. During Take 2, we’ll give you a lot more: when you play on two ring-game tables at the same time, we’ll double the number of points you’d normally receive on BOTH tables.

For example, if you earn 60 points at one table and 40 at another, ordinarily you would get 100 points. However, during Take 2, you’ll get 200 points instead of 100. That’s 100 points for your play and 100 bonus points.

You can use your bonus points in the Full Tilt Poker Store to get plasma TVs, iPods, custom Full Tilt Poker jerseys and more, or to enter special Full Tilt Points Sit & Gos and Multi-Table Tournaments.
Register to Participate in Take 2

Follow these steps to claim your cash and double points during Take 2:

    * Log in to Full Tilt Poker
* Click on the Cashier button
* Select the My Promotions box
* Click on the Take 2 box
* Follow the instructions on the Take 2 My Promotions page – you must elect to participate in this promotion or you will not receive cash or double points for your play during Take 2
* Return to the game lobby and play at two ring-game tables simultaneously to start earning cash and double Full Tilt Points at each table

Last Night I cashed in two freerolls on Bodog for a take of $58 bucks. I played in a freeroll for FTR and another for offshorebettor both sites were running $100.00 freerolls. FTR (Flop, Turn,River) I placed 6th and won $8 and in the Offshorebettor freeroll tournament I won for the $50 top prize. Both of these events were hosted on Bodog at the same time so it was fun muliti tabling and of course cashing in both is always a plus. I thank both sites for hosting great freerolls and hope to see my readers at the next events!

I get alot of questions about bankroll building and bankroll management. I have been fortunate enough to learn alot from the website WDIAV to improve on both and especially with the tournaments they offer have cashed nicely along the way. However to keep my bankroll healthy I am always searching for a good and effective way to help other players and myself stay on this path to a solid bankroll! Here is a good article I found at Bodog.com and I liked it enough that I thought I would share it with my readers.

Best Way to Build a Bankroll from $100by Bodog Poker | May 11 2009

Building a bankroll is no easy task for anyone to pull off. There are many ways to do it, but whichever way you try you’ll need discipline, patience, and luck. Traditionally a player would try to build a bankroll playing in the action they liked the most, or in a variation where they felt that they played their best. For many players in the past, and still some today, it means grinding long hours of limit games, playing at stakes small enough to overcome the swings that variance will surely bring.

Limit games make things more manageable and you can’t lose a big percentage of your bankroll in a couple of cooler hands. With proper table selection, building a bankroll playing limit games is time consuming but possible. But the current picture of online poker has changed things, and players have better playing situations where they can gain an edge on most of the players they compete against. Today there are so many novice players playing multi-table and sit-and-go tournaments that a player with intermediate poker skills can build a bankroll playing them.

With a buy-in of $100 one has a couple of choices. Instead of taking it into a no-limit cash game and dumping it in one bad beat, take $5 of it and play a nine-player no-limit holdem sit-and-go. If you last to the final three players you make money. The quality of opponents in $5 sit-and-go events is not a tough crowd, and if you play with some discipline early on, and increase your aggression with some caution later in the event, you’ll make money over enough tourneys.

The idea is to practice proper bankroll management and to stay in games that only cost 5% of your bankroll to play. That way you can handle a losing streak without going broke. And as your bankroll grows, don’t jump up in stakes levels right away. You can play more than one tournament at a time, so instead of jumping up in stakes you can earn more by playing more tourneys at once. If you stay at a level of game you can beat, your variance will be more manageable. Play as many games as you can properly handle and grow your bankroll as much as you can.

If you find yourself beating the games with ease you can consider climbing up in stakes, but only if you have the roll to support it. Jumping up to play in just one $10 tourney means that you should have grown that initial $100 to a minimum of $500. And to play multiple tourneys at once would require much more.

The same goes for multi-table tournaments. These events have more players to compete against, but when you do have a good finish your bankroll grows exponentially. Many of today’s professionals got their bankrolls started with a big cash in a multi-table tournament. Like the sit-and-go events, keep the buy-in amounts to 5% or less of your bankroll.

If you have the patience to play your best game every time you compete, and realize that losing streaks come to an end if you don’t tilt out, you’ll build your bankroll. It may take a long time or a short time; it depends on how the cards fall for you.
I hope that you found this article helpful another great idea is to capitalize on Frequent Player Promotions offered by the different on- line poker room.

We do it all Vegas.com has done it again!! They are hosting 4 tournaments monthly to win entry in their monthly 1k freeroll event. The top 9 from each weekly $25.00 freeroll are given a seat to the 1k tournament. You can also gain a seat by being an active member of the forum with 25 posts for the month and writing 1 blog entry for the month. It couldn’t be easier. Also If you become a rake back player using this link and have over $500 in rake back for the month you automaticaly qualify for the monthly event.
The tournaments are being held on Full Tilt!

I won a seat by placing in the top 9 of one of the $25 freerolls and also by staying active in the forum with 25 posts and I wrote 3 blog articles. ( I actually write frequently LOL) The tournament was held on August 30th at 8pm with only 77 players trying to cash in the 1k priz3e pool!! There were some great players in this event including pro Hal Lubarsky and WDIAV’s own Passive Harry!! I was down to 630 chips at 1 point then battled back to almost be blinded out to the bubble. The two chip leaders went heads up and 1 busted out putting me barely at the final table and into the money!! I switched gears with low expectations and manuvered into third place then battled to be heads up against a great player Momsrose!! After some back and forth we chopped the 1st and 2nd place prize money and I was declared the winner banking over $274.00
It was a great event held by an excellent forum. I enjoy being part of the WDIAV crew and its friendly, knowledgeable players and of course the great tournaments!!

I just finished watching the 2009 special World Series of Poker event”Champions Invitational”. I know I’m late but that damn Big Brother show is addictive!! The prize for this event was a nice looking Binion Cup Trophy and a 1970 Red Corvette( Awesome)
All of the Contestants were past Main Event winners and was a nice field including of course some pf the best Pros!!The final ten were:
Peter Eastgate 2008 Champion and Youngest ME winner!
Phil Helmuth the Poker Brat himself!
Berry Johnston
Doyle “Texas Dolly” Brunson
Tom McEvoy
Carlos Mortenson
Huck Seed
“Action Dan” Harrington
Robert Varconi
Jim Bechtel
All around it was some great and exciting Poker. Especially when it was down to 3 way action with Varconi,Harrington and McEvoy. Varconi had AA so many times I think he brought his own deck! Eventually Harrington was KOed and it was McEvoy and Varconi Heads up!!There was a little back and forth action but ultimately McEvoy gets the keys and a well deserved win!
There were a few great moments in airing of this event.I am really enjoying the Jacklinks wild card hand and the NUTS section is a neat trivia game this time won by Jennifer Harman.
Norman Chad continues to impress me with his improved commentating skills and overall poker knowledge. Hes been using a lot of % and pot odds when calling action and his discussion of Jim Bechtel’s facial expressions in a few hands was priceless! Only negative was that he said that he hated Ax over 22 times???
Overall great event and if Tom McEvoy doesn’t need another car, I will gladly pick it up!
Of course this is only one dog’s opinion!
