Just about every day I read the ‘letters to the Editor’ in my local paper. When I do so I read it online so that I can read the responses from other readers as well. I have noticed that whenever a writer mentions their beliefs in the Christian faith the responses are fast and furious and the majority is always negative towards the Christian faith. There are responses from pro-Christian people as well but we are always accused of ramming our beliefs down their throats. I find that curious since whenever the subject comes up it is usually non-Christians telling us that we can say this or do that. Christians are told what they can and cannot display in full view of the public even on the grounds of our own churches. My family is lucky that we live in an area that still has a moderate religious influence but that does not mean that God and references to the Christian Faith are not being cleansed from sight. Are your children singing Christmas carols at school this year?

On the 20th of November 2009 leaders from different denominations of the Christian faith released a declaration of faith and values for the Christian faith. Called the ‘Manhattan Declaration’( http://www.manhattandeclaration.org ) it is being touted by some as the most important Christian declaration since Martin Luther nailed his Ninety Five thesis to the door of the church. It calls Christians to stand firm in their faith even to the point of civil disobedience. Civil disobedience was a common practice used during Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King’s fight for civil rights. It speaks against all actions currently being taken by society today that go against the pillars of the Christian Faith. This document tells all Christians that it is okay to stand up for your faith and to defend your beliefs.

I for one will not shut up in matters of my faith. I am not looking for a ban on anything anti-Christian, that would be unconstitutional. I am not complaining about all the anti-God things I see and hear even in my local community. Freedom of expression is a constitutional right, I am taking advantage of my constitutional and God given right to express my beliefs. This country needs a re-awakening of Christians and their beliefs. Like it or not it was Christians that founded this country and they did it for everyone seeking freedom.

Paul R. Hollrah, O.E. The Twenty-Eighth Amendment November 24, 2009 Since the horrific Fort Hood Mas

Paul R. Hollrah, O.E.
The Twenty-Eighth Amendment
November 24, 2009

Since the horrific Fort Hood Massacre of Nov. 5, ‘09, suggestions that Islam should be outlawed increased in frequency and intensity. The latest call for delegitimization of Islam does not come from a blog or comment, it comes from a freelance writer and think tank fellow, published by New Media Journal.

I found three interesting quotes in the preamble; they are reproduced below, in block quotes, followed by my commentary.

But it is the violent and criminal acts of Muslims…acts which they see as religious imperatives, while to Christians and Jews they are repugnant acts of violence…that concern us most. We are told again and again that Islam is a religion of peace and that the vast majority of Muslims want nothing more than to live in peace. Although this may be true in most cases, it is entirely irrelevant so long as peace-loving Muslims fail to stand up and expose the radicals in their midst. The Muslim who claims to love peace, but who ignores the radicalism he sees and hears in his mosque is just as guilty of terrorism as those who carry out terrorist attacks against innocents.

I am not concerned as much by the violent acts as by the immutable, intrinsic doctrines of Islam which motivate and perpetuate a succession of violent acts. The violence prone zealots who obey Allah & emulate Moe have the weapons and will to use them. The meek wind up dead in a ditch.

The Muslim who knows, believes and tacitly accepts the demonic doctrines which sanctify and mandate conquest, genocide & terrorism are just as guilty as those who carry out those evil acts. The ignorant or peace loving Muslim of good will who goes along with the flow is almost as much a victim of Islam as those the terrorists seek to harm.

Today, it is the fanatics who rule Islam; who war against non-Muslims; who slaughter Christians and Jews around the world; who bomb, behead, murder, and honor-kill; who take over mosque after mosque and radicalize its members; who stone and hang rape victims and homosexuals; and who teach young men that they will have eternal joy in paradise…to say nothing of seventy-two virgins…if only they will strap bombs to their bodies and detonate them in crowded marketplaces. These are the things that the Koran teaches.

Because the Koran teaches those things, the men who preach & practice them are not fanatics, radicals or extremists; they are believers. Those who do not preach & practice Jihad are hypocrites, not good Muslims.

If Islam, as we know it today, had existed in the day of Thomas Jefferson and James Madison, and had Muslims been present in large numbers during the early years of our Republic, religious liberty would today be an entirely different matter.

Islam, as we know it today, existed in Thomas Jefferson’s day. It plundered American merchantmen, killed or enslaved the crews and demanded tribute, which the new nation paid until 1805 when Jefferson summoned his resolve and sent the Marines to Tripoli. Anyone who doubts this should read about the Barbary War.

Jefferson’s contemporary, J.Q. Adams understood Islam, as demonstrated by this quote.

“In the seventh century of the Christian era a wandering Arab, of the lineage of Hagar, the Egyptian, combing the powers of transcendent genius with the preternatural energy of a fanatic and the fraudulent spirit of an imposter, proclaimed himself as a messenger from heaven, and spread desolation and delusion over an extensive portion of the earth.

Adopting, from the sublime conception of the Mosaic law, the doctrine of one omnipotent God, he connected indissolubly with it the audacious falsehood, that he was himself his prophet and apostle. Adopting from the new revelation of Jesus, the faith and hope of immortal life, and of future retribution, he humbled it to the dust by adapting all the rewards and sanctions of his religion to the gratification of the sexual passion. He poisoned the sources of human felicity at the fountain, by degrading the condition of the female sex, and the allowance of polygamy; and he declared undistinguishing and exterminating war as part of his religion against all the rest of mankind. The essence of his doctrine was violence and lust; to exalt the brutal over the spiritual part of human nature.

Between these two religions, thus contrasted in the characters, a war of more than twelve hundred years has already raged. That war is yet flagrant; nor can it cease but by the extincture of that imposture, which has been permitted by Providence to prolong the degeneracy of man. While the merciless and dissolute are encouraged to furnish motives to human action, there never can be peace on earth and good will toward men. The hand of Ishmael will be against every man, and every man’s hand against him.” John Adams, 1830

–John Quincy Adams, “Christianity—Islamism.” “Unsigned essays dealing with the Russo-Turkish War, and on Greece,” originally published in The American Annual Register for 1827—1829 (New York, 1830), Chs. X-XIV: 267—402. (source)

The text of Paul R. Hollrah’s proposed amendment follows.

“The right of the People to be secure in their persons and property shall not be abridged, and no person, or group of persons, may interfere or attempt to interfere in the right of others to pursue life, liberty, religious practice, or freedom of expression. No religious sect or denomination may advocate violent opposition to any other religious sect or denomination, or to the members thereof. Any religious sect or denomination which utilizes its religious freedoms in pursuit of political ends averse to the general welfare, at home or abroad, shall be in violation of this provision, shall forfeit the right to peaceably assemble, and shall not maintain places of worship.”

Unfortunately, that text would be in conflict with the existing First Amendment. In my view, it is necessary to exclude Islam from membership in the set of recognized religions. An institution which is not a religion is not protected by the First Amendment’s free exercise clause and may be proscribed by law.

Closing Mosques, Islamic Centers & Madrassas is not sufficient action to solve the problem. So long as individual Muslims are present among us, free to indoctrinate their children and proselytize, the threat will not be reduced, it will increase. Resident Muslims constitute a fifth column, each one a sleeper cell of one, capable of activation at any time, unpredictably. We remain at risk until they die, emigrate or sincerely & finally abjure the doctrines of Islam.

Islam is what Moe preached and emulated, enshrined in the Koran & hadith; codified in Shari’ah. Until you will read a sufficient sample of Islam’s canon of scripture, tradition & jurisprudence, your knowledge of Islam is speculative and probably false. Islam is not moderate, it is aggressive, intolerant and violent by design.

A Muslim described as moderate, who neither participates in nor approves of Jihad, is one whom Islam’s founder described as a hypocrite, whose Islam goes no deeper than his throat.

Shari’ah requires Muslims to participate in annual attacks against disbelievers; neglecting to do so when it is possible is sin. I refer doubters & dissenters to Reliance of the Traveller, O9.1 It is the duty of the caliph to make war upon Jews, Christians & Zoroastrians until they become Muslim or pay the jizya as prescribed in 9:29. Let doubters & dissenters read O9.8. It is the duty of the caliph to fight all other people until they become Muslim as prescribed in 8:39. Let doubters & dissenters read O9.9. Once you have opened and loaded the file, you can use the Windows search function to find the reference letter & numbers using the Ctrl f key combination.

Islam is supremely intolerant. 3:85. And whoever seeks a religion other than Islâm, it will never be accepted of him, and in the Hereafter he will be one of the losers. Islam denies your right to live and own property. Let doubters & dissenters read Sahih Bukhari 1.8.387. “I have been ordered to fight the people till they say: ‘None has the right to be worshipped but Allah.’ And if they say so, pray like our prayers, face our Qibla and slaughter as we slaughter, then their blood and property will be sacred to us and we will not interfere with them except legally and their reckoning will be with Allah.”

Given the fact that Islam is intolerant & violent, dedicated to the destruction of our system of government & economy and Hellbent on enslaving us, tolerating Islam is suicidal idiocy.

The first corrective measure known to me was proposed by Pedestrian Infidel in the spring of ‘07: A Proposed Constitutional Amendment. Although I disagree with the fourth article of that proposal, I have endorsed it, because it was the first and remains the best option.

The Outlaw Islam! petition languishes with 124 signatures. I urge lovers of life & liberty to sign it, copy it and send it to everyone they can hope to influence with an exhortation to forward it. When you have signed the petition, use the facilities of http://www.congress.org/ to send a link to the petition to your Representative & Senators.

We’ve all heard it; conservatives need to be more tolerant. Of course, we are always being tol

We’ve all heard it; conservatives need to be more tolerant. Of course, we are always being told that by the ever so tolerant liberals aren’t we? I looked up the definition of tolerance before starting this and here it is:

”A fair, objective, and permissive attitude toward those whose opinions, practices, race, religion, nationality, etc., differ from one’s own; freedom from bigotry.”

Sounds just like all your liberal friends, doesn’t it? I’ve experienced some liberal tolerance firsthand this past week. Here are some examples:

“She should have been a do-over, aka abortion”

“If you were to be treated in an emergency room, due to a grave accident and in need of large amounts of blood transfusions of your type of blood, let’s say, AB Negative… I guess it would NOT bother you or your father at all if they did not fact check what type of blood you needed. Oh well who are you to most of Americans?!! We don’t need to do any fact checking for you! So I guess all conservatives really don’t care if you die Jackie.”

Ah! Yes, it appears to me tolerance means getting rid of people who’s opinion are different that yours. Don’t get me wrong, these people have every right to say these things. That’s the beauty of the first amendment and living in America. But don’t you dare accuse me or anyone, whether they be on television or radio of not being tolerant when you yourself are anything but the poster child for tolerance.

It all boils down to hypocrisy. Liberals preach about how they are such tolerant, accepting people but then someone has a different view of them and all of a sudden liberals go on a tirade. Liberals like to call anyone who disagrees with them a bigot, racist, hatemonger, or in some cases (not all) they even go to the extreme to wish death upon a person.

But, hey tolerance has gotten us SO far in America. I mean we have to be tolerant of terrorists who killed 3,000 Americans so let’s give him a fair trial. Because, that’s what the families of those victims would want. Right? WRONG. I can assure you an overwhelming majority, if not all of the families of the victims feel this to be a slap in the face. And if Mr. Holder is so sure KSM will be convicted, why not save NYC the circus, save us the time, save us the money and just get rid of the guy. At the very least send him to a military tribunal and have them take care of it, which would be the correct thing to do.

Kids are being told they cannot bring a Bible into school or even simply pray in school. Now let’s imagine it this way. Say a kid comes to school holding a handful of books on homosexuality, maybe some pamphlets from NAMBLA. Do you think if a parent who is against gay marriage were to go to the school and ask that the child be told not to bring those in the school would grant that request? I think not. That parent would probably be called a homophobe. And we cannot forget to mention that if you are against same sex marriage you are a homophobe. It’s amazing that in this country we had to pass a Hate Crimes Bill. Someone explain to me how we are supposed to be able to tell if someone beat someone up because they hated them for their sexual orientation. Tell me this also, will gay people be charged if they beat up a Christian? Who are we to judge and say a person beat up someone because they hate the other persons lifestyle?

For some reason there is a growing movement in America to remove God from everything not just schools. We are being told that we have to be tolerant of other people’s beliefs at the expense of having to hide our own. Why can’t others be tolerant of our beliefs? It’s an incredibly sad thing when this Nation is trying to remove God, or others opinions. People come to America to express their beliefs, speak their mind and worship as they please.

Merry Christmas has become Happy Holidays, Happy Thanksgiving is Happy Turkey Day and Christmas carols are being banned in schools. Oh, but the children can sing about their fearless Commander-in-Chief.

And we cannot forget the shooting at Fort Hood. I’d call him a terrorist but I don’t want to jump to any conclusions……………mm yep he was and is a terrorist. We couldn’t “jump to conclusions” about a terrorist attack but the President was awfully quick to point out how a white cop acted “stupidly” in arresting a black professor.
You see, the simple fact is that tolerance is preached widely among liberals yet rejected by those very same people. I firmly believe the whole idea of tolerance and political correctness will do more to harm this country than anything.

Or check out Keith Olbermann’s Countdown to see just how tolerant our left-wing friends are.

I can’t think of another story that I have written about that I find more disturbing than this story. Three Navy SEALs have been charged with assault and are facing a court martial because one of them may have punched Ahmed Hashim Abed– the mastermind of the 2004 Blackwater security guard murders and United States most wanted terrorist– in the face, giving him a bloody lip.

These Navy SEALs were on a secret mission to apprehend this vile subhuman being and in doing so one of them may have hit this terrorist. Ahmed Hashim Abed filed a complaint with Iraqi officials and now these Navy SEALs face a court martial instead of the accolades they deserve.

The brave men went into the heart of the beast, risking their lives, to perform their mission and instead of being hailed as heroes they are going to be prosecuted as criminals.

I can’t even begin to describe the level of my disgust. Ahmed Hashim Abed planned the murder and mutilation of four United States citizens and our men are being prosecuted because they may have punched him during his capture? Is this what we have come to in this country? Is this how we can expect our heroes to be treated? If the answer to those questions is yes than I have to ask the question, how are we ever supposed to bring these men that we are fighting against to justice?

During a mission like this it is perfectly reasonable to expect that the terrorist might just become a little violent in resisting arrest. Are we now to put the thought in the minds of the Navy SEALs and other special operatives that they are not allowed to fight back in a situation that may require hand to hand combat? Our operatives will be second guessing themselves and acting more cautious at precisely the time when swift action and possibly even violence is needed to apprehend a suspect as well as save their own lives.

It seems to me that if these men are prosecuted and found guilty that we will be tying the hands of all of our men and women in the field, and not just the special operations people.

We have taken the politically correct mindset to deadly proportions as witnessed in the Fort Hood terrorist attack and now we see that we are making it nearly impossible to catch terrorists and bring them to justice.

The one lesson that can be learned from this is, dead men tell no tales. Our men and women in the field would be better off killing whatever terrorists they encounter instead of bringing them in alive. These three Navy SEALs would have less to worry about if they had put a bullet in Ahmed Hashim Abed’s head.

This man is on the most wanted terrorist list and yet the heroes that apprehended him will go on trial in January while he sits in a jail cell. This is disgusting.

If we have come to this point in the war on terror, and in the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq than it is time to give up and go home. We are wasting our time over there if we are not willing to let our troops do whatever it takes to secure victory. All we are doing is putting our troops in harm’s way for a cause that our government obviously no longer believes in.

Barack Obama recently said that he will “finish the job” in Afghanistan, it seems that his politically correct policies will make that awfully hard to do. It is obvious that the United States is not taking this battle seriously any more. When the word of a terrorist is taken over the word of our Navy SEALs by our own government than the war is already lost.

“Political correctness is a doctrine, fostered by a delusional, illogical minority, and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end.”

Would you all agree with me that war is an ugly, but sometimes necessary thing? No SANE person ever wants to go to war. But when diplomacy fails and our national well being, safety, and security are at stake military action is sometimes necessary. When military action can no longer be avoided, for it to be truly effective it must be conducted violently and with overwhelming force to quickly defeat the enemy and make them KNOW that further resistance is futile. Contrary to what many opponents of any war believe, fewer people on both sides die if you hold to these principals. When you try to make war “nice,” as our spineless yellow bellied politicians have done, it turns into a slow war of attrition, a war of a thousand cuts. The enemy that threatened you is never defeated and will ALWAYS be a threat until they are defeated. They gain strength day after day and kill more and more of your people a few at a time.

With regard to Iraq, Afghanistan, or any other conflict in which our military is employed, just about every conservative I know, be they politician, talk show host, fellow soldier, sailor, Marine or airman, have universally held the opinion “let us win, or bring us home.” That includes me. When we went into Iraq and Afghanistan, there was a genuine military purpose and legitimate national security goal. Once the initial military victories on the ground had faded into history, the politicians got involved and began to tear down the success of our military. Especially those liberal politicians who didn’t want us to go to Iraq or Afghanistan in the first place, but who would not speak out because the POLLS said speaking out against the actions wasn’t popular. Cowards.

As each day passes, the liberals withdraw more and more support from our military men and women who are on the front lines risking and sacrificing their lives for America. The withhold money, new weapons, and reinforcements. They attack and belittle the military in the press. The two most notable examples of this are senator Harry Reid of Nevada who said the war in Iraq was lost before the surge ever began, and congressman Jack Murtha (spit) of Pennsylvania who with no proof or evidence came out publicly and loudly to proclaim that U.S. Marines in Haditha, Iraq were murderers and baby killers. Of course they were proven innocent, but Murtha (spit) couldn’t and still hasn’t found a microphone to say he was wrong, or that he is sorry for what he said. He calls himself a former Marine, but I assure you any REAL Marine would rather disembowel himself than shake this traitors hand.

Now we have the Obama administration about to prosecute three Navy SEALs for capturing a terrorist on the field of battle ALIVE. Keep in mind that usually SEALs don’t CAPTURE anyone. They kill them. Why are they being prosecuted? Because the terrorist, the mastermind of the abduction, torture, execution, and burning of four Blackwater agents whose bodies were then hung from a bridge, this scumbag got a bloody lip. I’m sure he wasn’t read his Miranda rights either. He should have died of acute lead poisoning. Navy “leadership,” in politically correct lock step with Obama and the liberals, tried to give these SEALs non-judicial punishment which would still effectively end their careers. Seeing the absurdity of this they exercised their option and demanded a trial by Courts Martial. God bless them.

Yesterday I heard several people who had been ardent supporters of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan say it was time to bring our troops home. Radio hosts Roger Hedgecock and Glenn Beck were two of the more notable. When our Commander-in-Chief (in this case the campaigner-in-chief) and the rest of our national command structure no longer support our military in a time of war, when they will throw our own soldiers under the bus, when they WILL NOT ALLOW OUR MILITARY TO WIN, it is time to bring them home. The lives of a million of those dirt bag, swine excrement, satanic terrorists is not worth the life of even one single American.

Bring them home. Now.

Navy SEALs Face Assault Charges for Capturing Most-Wanted Terrorist

Wednesday, November 25, 2009
By Rowan Scarborough

Navy SEALs have secretly captured one of the most wanted terrorists in Iraq — the alleged mastermind of the murder and mutilation of four Blackwater USA security guards in Fallujah in 2004. And three of the SEALs who captured him are now facing criminal charges, sources told FoxNews.com.

The three, all members of the Navy’s elite commando unit, have refused non-judicial punishment — called an admiral’s mast — and have requested a trial by court-martial.

Ahmed Hashim Abed, whom the military code-named “Objective Amber,” told investigators he was punched by his captors — and he had the bloody lip to prove it.

Now, instead of being lauded for bringing to justice a high-value target, three of the SEAL commandos, all enlisted, face assault charges and have retained lawyers.

Matthew McCabe, a Special Operations Petty Officer Second Class (SO-2), is facing three charges: dereliction of performance of duty for willfully failing to safeguard a detainee, making a false official statement, and assault.

Petty Officer Jonathan Keefe, SO-2, is facing charges of dereliction of performance of duty and making a false official statement.

Petty Officer Julio Huertas, SO-1, faces those same charges and an additional charge of impediment of an investigation.

Neal Puckett, an attorney representing McCabe, told Fox News the SEALs are being charged for allegedly giving the detainee a “punch in the gut.”

“I don’t know how they’re going to bring this detainee to the United States and give us our constitutional right to confrontation in the courtroom,” Puckett said. “But again, we have terrorists getting their constitutional rights in New York City, but I suspect that they’re going to deny these SEALs their right to confrontation in a military courtroom in Virginia.”

The three SEALs will be arraigned separately on Dec. 7. Another three SEALs — two officers and an enlisted sailor — have been identified by investigators as witnesses but have not been charged.

FoxNews.com obtained the official handwritten statement from one of the three witnesses given on Sept. 3, hours after Abed was captured and still being held at the SEAL base at Camp Baharia. He was later taken to a cell in the U.S.-operated Green Zone in Baghdad.

The SEAL told investigators he had showered after the mission, gone to the kitchen and then decided to look in on the detainee.

“I gave the detainee a glance over and then left,” the SEAL wrote. “I did not notice anything wrong with the detainee and he appeared in good health.”

Lt. Col. Holly Silkman, spokeswoman for the special operations component of U.S. Central Command, confirmed Tuesday to FoxNews.com that three SEALs have been charged in connection with the capture of a detainee. She said their court martial is scheduled for January.

United States Central Command declined to discuss the detainee, but a legal source told FoxNews.com that the detainee was turned over to Iraqi authorities, to whom he made the abuse complaints. He was then returned to American custody. The SEAL leader reported the charge up the chain of command, and an investigation ensued.

The source said intelligence briefings provided to the SEALs stated that “Objective Amber” planned the 2004 Fallujah ambush, and “they had been tracking this guy for some time.”

The Fallujah atrocity came to symbolize the brutality of the enemy in Iraq and the degree to which a homegrown insurgency was extending its grip over Iraq.

The four Blackwater agents were transporting supplies for a catering company when they were ambushed and killed by gunfire and grenades. Insurgents burned the bodies and dragged them through the city. They hanged two of the bodies on a bridge over the Euphrates River for the world press to photograph.

Intelligence sources identified Abed as the ringleader, but he had evaded capture until September.

The military is sensitive to charges of detainee abuse highlighted in the Abu Ghraib prison scandal. The Navy charged four SEALs with abuse in 2004 in connection with detainee treatment.

One of the best nonfiction books I have ever read was written by Marcus Luttrell, a Navy SEAL who wa

One of the best nonfiction books I have ever read was written by Marcus Luttrell, a Navy SEAL who was the sole survivor of SEAL team 10 on Operation Redwing in the Hindu Kush of Afghanistan. Luttrell relates his story as his team, sent to put eyeballs on a Taliban bigwig, ends up all but being stepped on in their hiding places by three Afghani goatherds. They knew by the way these guys were looking at them that if they didn’t kill them, within minutes of turning them loose they’d be set upon by all the Taliban soldiers in the village they were watching–and they’d end up dead.

In WWII, this wouldn’t have been an issue. The bad guys would have been killed and we’d have heard nothing about it. Luttrell goes into the realities they faced on the side of that mountain: if they let them go, the Taliban would kill the American SEALs as quickly as they could. But if they killed the goatherds, the SEALs knew that the Taliban would play it up, the US media would eat it up, and to quell the anger at killing unarmed people the military courts would chew them up and spit them out. They knew that their careers would be over if they did what they would have to do to save themselves.

Most of the country knows what happened by now. They let the goatherds go, and in no time the mountainside was swarming with Taliban killers. Luttrell was the only man to survive of the four-man team. The Taliban even managed to shoot down the helicopter sent to rescue them, killing all the souls on board.

We haven’t learned the lessons of that fight. It has just been announced that three Navy SEALs are being court martialed for supposedly abusing a prisoner, one who was a most-wanted terrorist in Iraq. SO-2 Matthew McCabe, SO-2 Jonathan Keefe and SO-1 Julio Huertas refused an admiral’s mast (a non-judicial punishment) offered in the wake of accusations that they punched Ahmed Hashim Abed.

The evidence? Abed had a bloody lip.

Cry me a goddamn river.

What’s worse is that the bad guy is claiming he was punched in the gut, but his LIP was bloody! Are we serious? They offered a non-judicial punishment and the SEALs decided to stand up for themselves. My Lord, what are we coming to when the media jumps on something like this and our troops, who are heroes for capturing this flab of human debris, are targeted instead?

I find it completely astounding that the FBI and the military weren’t willing to do a damn thing to stop a known jihadist within their own ranks before he carried out jihad on 14 souls (one of those soldiers was pregnant–the victim count should be FOURTEEN) but when our boys save the day by catching a murdering fiend, we move to protect the murderer. Abed, by the way, led the mob that murdered and burned the bodies of four US Blackwater employees, dragged them through the streets, then hung them from a bridge in Fallujah.

Shame on whoever thought this should be prosecuted. SHAME ON YOU.

The cartoon was published by Newsday and people have been protesting: NEW YORK Picketers demonstrate

The cartoon was published by Newsday and people have been protesting:

NEW YORK Picketers demonstrated outside of Newsday’s offices in Melville, N.Y., on Wednesday to protest a cartoon that appeared in Sunday’s paper. About 20 people carrying signs that read “Boycott Newsday” also demanded that Editor John Mancini be fired for allowing the cartoon to be published.

The protesters were upset about a syndicated “Mallard Fillmore” cartoon drawn by Bruce Tinsley that was published a week after the one-year anniversary of the death of Ecuadorian immigrant Marcelo Lucero. They were also picketing in protest of a recent story and column about Lucero’s murder.

Authorities allege that seven teenagers stabbed Lucero to death last year, and one has pleaded guilty to first-degree gang assault and fourth-degree conspiracy.

The cartoon causing the controversy was titled “Liberals: The Early Years,” and featured a small dinosaur being chased by a larger one who said, “I’m not chasing you because you’re a pachycephalosaurus … I’m chasing you because you’re delicious,” to which the smaller dinosaur responded, “Oh, thank goodness. I was worried that this might be a hate crime.”

Here’s the cartoon – no laughing, now:

Earlier this month we presented an article that espoused the notion as to whether “political correctness” may have had a direct result on the travesty at Fort Hood. We quite openly believe that if a person is acting out with their ideological beliefs and is conflicted about what he believes as opposed to what he does, sure – there can be a real problem.

However the point of our previous article as well as this one is to illustrate how gaining “protected status” under the Equal Protection Clause of the 14th Amendment – has reached a point where it simply is not assisting those who need protection in this country. (Please see previous articles by clicking here.)

Sixty-three percent (63%) of U.S. voters say political correctness prevented the military from responding to warning signs from Major Nidal Malik Hasan that could have prevented the Fort Hood shootings from taking place.

A new Rasmussen Reports national survey shows that just 16% disagree and do not believe political correctness kept military authorities from possibly stopping the killing of 13 people and the wounding of many others in the November 5 incident. Twenty-one percent (21%) are not sure.

Older Americans are more suspicious of political correctness than voters under 40. Republicans and voters not affiliated with either major political party overwhelmingly believe political correctness held the military back. That view is shared by 49% of Democrats while 23% of those in the president’s party disagree to think political correctness kept the military from responding to warning signs from Hasan.

Seventy-five percent (75%) of Mainstream Americans think political correctness prevented the military from responding before the attacks took place.

Both President Obama and the Army chief of staff urged Americans not to jump to conclusions about the cause of the shootings just after they took place.

Seventy-three percent (73%) of Texas voters say Hasan should receive the death penalty if he is convicted of the massacre at Fort Hood. Military prosecutors have charged Hasan with 13 counts of premeditated murder. If convicted, he is eligible for the death penalty. Quick question: Why do you suppose that voters over the age of 40 are more suspicious of political correctness?

The cuckoo clock that is my transforming nation seems to be tolling its bell louder all the time – and I damn well don’t like it.

What the hell is happening to my country?

Whether it is the Commander-in-Chief’s modus operandi of weakening his own country through apologetic confessionals, or his determination to close a perfectly functioning terrorist detention facility so that America’s enemies will love her more, or his incapacity to come to a decision concerning his “war of necessity” in Afghanistan, or his conferring of Constitutional rights on enemy combatants who waged war on America, or his Army Chief of Staff who said that diversity among the troops is more vital than protecting innocent lives, or a media so raped of its ability to be objective by political correctness that it could not (or would not) call the Ft. Hood mass murder an Islamist terrorist attack, this country is on a dangerous path.

This reality manifests itself in what seems like a perpetual advance of negative stories from the mainstream media about the United States military. Ever since the New York Times turned military misconduct at Abu Grahib into the most deplorable and unspeakable human abuses ever committed, there has hardly been a positive word to be found about those who defend America, save for in the conservative media.

For a time, it even became fashionable among elected anti-Bushies to speak ill of this nation’s defenders. Recall that Senator Dick Durbin compared American treatment of prisoners at Abu Grahib to the Nazis and Pol Pot. Recall that Senator Ted Kennedy declared the Saddam Hussein torture chambers re-opened under new American management. Recall Congressman John Murtha called American Marines cold-blooded murderers.

Isn’t it curious how everyone seems to get the benefit of the doubt except the fighting men and women of the American military?

At one time, Congressional Medal of Honor winners would secure the front pages of newspapers across the country. Stories of valor and courage on the battle field were, in a long ago and far away age, headline makers. These were America’s heroes, cherished and revered. It was understood that a nation incapable – or unwilling – to pay tribute to its fighting men could never be worthy of the liberty it enjoyed.

These days, America’s warriors are regularly portrayed as broken and confused, weak and frightened. Tales about rising suicide rates and substance abuse among soldiers make up a good portion of the stories published about America’s military. Exposes on exhausted fighting men, declining morale, and misbehaving soldiers take up far more space than successes on the battle field.

It is sickening.

This disturbing anti-military trend – this ongoing impulse among the politically correct and the cowardly to cast America’s heroes in a negative light – is, sadly, gaining ghoulish momentum.

Last evening, the story of three Navy SEALS being brought up on assault charges in the case of the capture of Ahmed Hashim Abed – one of the most wanted terrorists in Iraq – made my stomach turn. For those unaware, Abed was the ringleader behind the murder of four Blackwater USA security agents back in 2004. You’ll recall the grisly details of how the four were ambushed, murdered, and their bodies burned and dragged through the streets of Fallujah. Two of them were even hanged off a Euphrates River bridge for a photo op.

In September of this year, Navy SEALS captured the murderous vermin. Such a momentous and heroic event should have made headlines across the country, but the likelihood that even twenty percent of America knew about it is a generous estimate.

Now, three of those heroes – SO-2 Matthew McCabe, SO-2 Jonathan Keefe and SO-1 Julio Huertas – are facing court martial.

Why?

Because of a bloody lip.

Rowan Scarborough at Fox News writes:

The three, all members of the Navy’s elite commando unit, have refused non-judicial punishment — called an admiral’s mast — and have requested a trial by court-martial.

Ahmed Hashim Abed, whom the military code-named “Objective Amber,” told investigators he was punched by his captors — and he had the bloody lip to prove it.

Now, instead of being lauded for bringing to justice a high-value target, three of the SEAL commandos, all enlisted, face assault charges and have retained lawyers.

The poor little terrorist, responsible for the brutal murders of four men transporting supplies for a catering company (of all things), is apparently now having to deal with the terrifying memory of a bloody lip, not to mention the post-traumatic stress associated with the scar. Indeed, a bloody lip it may not be as appalling (or tortuous) as having Christina Aguilera music blaring, or having smoke blown in one’s face, or having the thermostat cranked low (or any of the other horrifying abuses some of Gitmo detainees were made to suffer through), but it is bad enough to have three of America’s most courageous fighting men ready to be arraigned on December 7th, with a court martial to follow in January.

What the Fort Hood massacre did was shine a much needed light on the twisted mentality that seems to be prevalent among the higher echelons of the American military these days (as well as government) – namely, a now lethal strain of political correctness that places more of an importance on showing the world that America is not anti-Muslim than in protecting the United States of America.

But this new predilection for convincing everyone that America really is a good nation full of good people, sensitive to Islam, is exasperating and wrong-headed. Much of the world, despite leftist cacklings to the contrary, wants to see a strong America. They look to America for leadership. They look to America to do what’s right. And when America is quick to accuse its own defenders of abusing terrorists in a time of war, with innocent lives hanging in the balance, in desperate and dangerous situations that are not even conceivable to most, for something as insignificant as a bloody lip, it not only creates international uneasiness, it emboldens the enemies of freedom everywhere.

Indeed, there may be more to come of this story, but I’m inclined to think not.

Hence, the court martial instead of the non-judical punishment (NJP) of an admiral’s mast.

The three accused Navy SEALS want their story told. They want all of the details of this heroic operation out in the open.

Good for them.

Still, questions come to mind …

How on earth can three American heroes be facing a court martial for giving a piece of walking fecal matter a bloody lip? Would it really take three of the most well-trained fighting men in the American military to do it? Wouldn’t one have been sufficient to the task? Even in his sleep? And who’s to say the “bloody lip” didn’t happen during Abed’s take down? Adrenalin does tend to run high in combat situations.

Unbelievable.

I thought we were in this thing to win.

If so, why the hell does it seem that there is so much effort, so much determination from so many sectors, to keep our side from doing their jobs?

For what it’s worth, I am with you one-hundred percent, Navy Seals.

Always.
