Jakarta, 01 Desember 2009 - Volkswagen (VW) Polo dinobatkan sebagai Mobil Eropa Terbaik (European Car of The Year ) 2010. Mobil produksi pabrikan asal Jerman itu mengantongi nilai tertinggi untuk aspek keselamatan yaitu lima bintang.

“Polo memiliki fitur keselamatan yang komplit dan mesin yang modern,” tutur Hakan Matson, Ketua Dewan Juri, seperti dikutip autoworld, Selasa (01/12).

Varian hatchback itu dibayang-bayangi mobil produksi Toyota, yaitu Toyota iQ yang berada di urutan kedua. Seperti dikutip worldcarfans, dewan juri yang terdiri dari 59 orang wartawan senior dan reporter dan editor majalah otomotif di Eropa itu memberi nilai total 347, sedangkan Toyota iQ 337.

Di belakang kedua mobil tersebut, terdapat Opel Astra, Skoda Yeti, Mercedes E-Class, Peugeot 3008 serta Citroen C3 Picasso. Sejak diluncurkan pada 1975, Polo sudah diproduksi hingga generasi kelima.

Beragam pilihan mesin ditawarkan VW, mulai dari mesin bensin hingga diesel. Mesin bensin terbaru berkapasitas 1.200 cc dan 1.400 cc twin stratified injection (TSI) turbocharger,1.400 cc.

Selain itu terdapat pula mesin diesel 1.600cc Turbo Diesel Intercooler (TDI) common-rai Blue Motion dengan daya 90 daya kuda. Semua mesin bertransmisi manual dengan lima dan enam tingkat percepatan.

Sistem susupensi VW ini pada bagian depan menggunakan suspensi MacPherson strut type. Sedangkan di bagian belakang menggunakan suspensi semi-independen.

Untuk menunjang keselamatan dan kenyamanan berkendara, ban depan hatchback ini dibuat lebih maju lima milimeter sehingga tetap stabil kala pengemudi secara cepat berpindah jalur yang dilintasi.

Selain itu, Polo dilengkapi fitur Electronic Stabilization Program (ESP). Fitur lainnya Hill Hold Control dan penggantian booster rem berukuran 8,5 inci menjadi 10 inci, sehingga pengereman benar-benar pakem dan aman.

Sedangkan Toyota iQ adalah varian city car produksi Toyota Motor Corpoaration. Mobil yang mulai dipasarkan di Jepang pada November 2008 lalu itu, didesain di Pusat Desain Toyota yang berbasis di Perancis Selatan.

Toyota iQ memiliki panjang 2.985 milimeter (mm), lebar 1.680 mm, serta tinggi 1.500 mm. Di Eropa mobil ini ditawarkan dalam tiga tipe yaitu tipe mesin bensin dengan kapasitas 1.000 dan 1.300 cc, serta tipe mesin diesel dengan kapasitas 1.400 cc.

Sementara di Jepang, ditawarkan tipe mesin bensin dengan kapasitas 1.000 cc VVT-i tiga silinder. Dengan kapasitas sebesar itu, mampu menghasilkan tenaga 68 PS pada 4.800 rpm dengan torsi 9,3 kgm atau 90 Nm pada 4.800 rpm.

Di Eropa, Toyota iQ juga telah dinyatakan lolos dalam uji keselamatan standar benua tersebut. Bahkan, mobil ini meraih peringkat bintang lima di uji European New Car Assessment Programmed (Euro NCAP) tersebut. Di benua Eropa, mobil itu dibanderol sekitar Rp 350 juta

Kanye West has arguably been one of the most influential fashion icons within the world of hip hop in the past decade.  Martin Loius The King Jr. (aka Kanye West), stood out when he debuted College Dropout in 2004 because of his dope lyrics & production but also because he was constantly clad in the newest Polo pieces instead of baggy clothes & throwback jerseys which at the time was the industry standard (I know yall remember that).  But was Ralph Lauren really boring until ‘Ye wore him?…any real ‘Lo Heads can tell you otherwise.

Just for reference I am not a Lo Head (I only have like 20 recent RL pieces from the past 4 years), or a sneaker head for that matter, I just have a deep appreciation for hip hop subcultures.  For anyone who is lost right now, Lo is short for Polo, and most Lo heads (much like sneaker heads) pride themselves on having a collection of the oldies but goodies.  Traditional RL collectors note a time period of 1992-1998 as Ralph Lauren in its heyday.  Ask any Lo-fessional & several collections and lines like Stadium, Indian, P-Wing, P-Bear, Cross Flag, Scribble, and many others come to mind as some of the best of the best from Ralph Lauren & the now extinct (since 1998) Polo Sport Collection.

Within this subculture, there are the undisputed OG’s that made it wildly popular for black youth to amass entire collections of Ralph Lauren before Kanye Tida could even drop out of middle school.  Lo Lifes, a Brooklyn gang founded around the popular label, are credited as THE Originators.  Since 1988 These Lo Lifes have been running the streets “collecting” various Ralph Lauren pieces.  The stark contrast of the street life that these youths led, against the preppy lifestyle that the RL empire has masterfully marketed to consumers since 1967, drew them into department stores, boutiques, and stand alone Ralph stores to steal as much merchandise as possible (as a gang that wasnt all they were infamous for but I would rather focus on the positive).

Today I appeared MSNBC to discuss the White house party crashing Salahis from a psycosocial standpoint. I discussed why they did what they did. Here are some more of my thoughts on these two Sociopaths.

HOLDING OUT FOR A BIGGER SLICE OF THE PIE AND AN ADDITONAL 15 MINUTES OF FAME

We have yet to hear what these two White House party crashers have to say for themselves, since they cancelled Larry King Live in order to hold out for an interview that would pay them six figures. This in itself is very disturbing as it reflects manipulation, something a lot of Sociopaths do. There are a number of other things to which I have been paying close attention. In researching their writings and their backgrounds I see a lot of signals that indicate Sociopathy according to the Hare Scale of Psychopathy.

DEFINITION OF A SOCIOPATH

Before I begin I want to share with you the difference between a Psychopath and a Sociopath. A Psychopath is more methodical and organized and not as spur of the moment as the Sociopath. Otherwise they are essentially the same thing.

The major characteristic is their lack of empathy as they use charm manipulation to get what they want. Since they do not have a conscience and empathy, they take what they want and do as they please. In essence, they violate social norms and expectations without guilt and remorse.

They are glib and superficially charming and can even mimic human emotion. Some, like the Salahis can blend in quite well for a long time until they are caught. Even if they are busted as in the case of the Salahis, it doesn’t seem to faze them in the least. They show unmitigated gall as the Salahi’s have shown in manipulating the press for the highest interview fee. There is no cure for the Sociopath as one percent of the population have this disorder.

LACK OF REMORSE AND NOT TAKING RESPONSIBILITY

Besides whoring out for money and seeing which media venue would be their biggest “John,” the next two things that bothered me about these two which point them in the direction of being Sociopaths is their lack of remorse and lack of taking responsibility for what they did.

The Secret Service manned up and showed remorse as they said they took full responsibility and felt terrible about what happened. But we certainly did not hear from the Salahi’s in this regard. I am sure they are noT remorseful at all. They are thrilled as it put these two self absorbed narcissists on the map. It gave them the attention they craved. So they don’t feel bad about what they did like normal people would feel . Instead, they feel GREAT!

GLIBNESS AND SUPERFICIAL CHARM

The fourth and fifth and sixth things that bothered me about these two is their glibness and superficial charm as these wanna be’s try to Hob Nob with the movers and shakers.

If you look at EVERY single photo of the wife Michaelea Salahi she is posed. She obviously knows how to act and how to behave at these VIP soirees.
She clearly looks like she can put on the charm and she does.

In examining a variety of photos of her over the internet with celebrities you state to see a pattern emerging. With her hand strategically placed on VP Biden’s chest, hugging on to fahionista Betsy Johnston,

and displaying a way too close for comfort pose with Dancing With the Stars winner Donny Osmond, to finally
finally her looking directly into Obama’s eyes as she did at the crashed event, she clearly knows how to manipulate and weasel her way into things.

She does it by using her good looks to the fullest extent. Since she is so pleasing on the eye, people are charmed by that alone. So they let her in and have let her get away whatever she wants. She has relied on her good looks for years and used them to gain entry and charm .

WHY SHE GOT AWAY WITH MANIPULATION FOR SO LONG- SHE LOOKS LIKE A CELEB AND KNOWS HOW TO PLAY THE GAME

Michaela is model thin and has a gorgeous wardrobe . Her hair is shiny blond and her face, although it is nothing special is symmetric, thereby making her attractive. With the right makeup, her imperfections from a long nose and crooked teeth are not that noticeable. With all the right pampering (7 hours in a DC Salon to get ready for the White House crashing) and botoxing , she no doubt looks much younger than her late forty something age. Her slender figure also keeps her youthful looking.

She looks like a celeb, so celebs initially react to her as if she is one . Gate keepers may let her into places us mortals cannot go, simply because she looks and carries herself like a VIP. The first thing she does when she sees a celeb is grab her on hand photographer husband Tareq to snap a photo of her and whomever ,like Donny Osmond . She gets cuddly and close and voila (she is their new best friend) But the celebs don’t mind . They think she must be a celeb too. Because she is no doubt, so overly friendly and charming, they don’t want to embarrass her or themselves by not remembering her or if and where they met her, so they play along . The smile nicely for the photo op and then it is over.

MASK LIKE POSED APPEARANCE INDICATIVE OF SO MANY SOCIOPATHS

She not only looks posed with the celebs where she leans her head in like she is their best friend. She even looks posed in the video and photos of her own wedding .

Her mask like smile also disturbs a lot of people. In fact one comment from her wedding video ( which was professionally produced so it looked like it was a Royal wedding with 30 bridesmaids dressed in flesh colored gowns) was “her smile is so phony I could puke. ” What this viewer is reacting to is something to which we all react- a mask like empty smile that so many sociopaths exhibit. Ted Bundy. Bernie Madoff, and wife and baby killer Scott Peterson has the same mask like Cheshire cat smug smile.

Remember how charming Ted Bundy was as he lured in all those women which he subsequently murder? Remember how charming Amber Frey said Scott Peterson was so charming as he lured her in? Well the Salahis may not murder a person’s body, but they very well may murder their pocketbook and swindle like a Madoff.
Look at all the photos of Michaela on the internet.

They are all of her with that the same mask like expression. If you see one or two photos, you don’t notice it. But if you see a lot of them it begins to give you the creeps. There is something wrong- very wrong!

FEELINGS OF GRANDIOSITY

We all saw her feelings of grandiosity when she first walked into the room to be announced at the White House. The White House press snapped photos of her. Michaele and Tareq walked by and photos were snapped. Buy she wasn’t satisfied. She went back and stood in front of the press corps for them to take more photos of her. No one else did that- just her! It was an obvious display of malignant narcissism.

IRRESPONSIBILITY

Reports also show that in Aspen at a Snow Polo Event although the husband Tareq paid the 3000 dollar entry fee, he failed to pay the rest of the fee and stiffed people. The Salahi’s have apparently left a trail of debts behind them. They appear to be mired in debt and lawsuits against them where they owe a lot of money, according o sources and reports.

SUPERFICIAL CHARM

The superficial charm and lack of boundaries also concern me in the photos. Michale’s putting her hand on a Vice Presidents chest in such an intimate gesture with her hand on his heart is disrespectful and unconscionable.

If you look at every single photo of Michaela her head is cocked towards the person like she is their best friend. But the give away is this mask like appearance. She is an obvious wanna be phony.

When she double cupped Obama’s hands with both of her hands it means in body language talk that you are trying to influence someone. No doubt she was trying to influence Obama with her charm. It was unacceptable and showed her disrespect for the office of the President. You never double cup a President’s hand. He is in power and if anyone is gonan double cup it is him- not you. You need to respect that protocol and reflect it in your body language.

LYING

LYING

The LYING is also great cause for concern. While there is evidence the Salahis had their photo taken with Obama at an event in 2005, they were not “dear friends.” She was delusional when she revealed on her twitter page back on Sept 26:
“Honored to participate in the Black Caucus Gala this evening, and meet with my dear friends President Obama & DNC… http://bit.ly/42gLXX 9:27 PM Sep 26th from Facebook

If she was “dear” friends with the Obamas, they would have immediately come to her rescue and said they knew her and Tariq and all would be fine. But that is not what happened. Obama is upset about this security breach and upset they got into the Party uninvited.

We are now discovering that Michaela is full of lies. She said she was a member of the Redskins cheerleading squad back in the ’90s, but team officials have no record proving her claim.

If this is the case this is one sick and scary woman! And to think she got so close to our President. Nothing happenedm but it could have happened with her just as it could have happened with any other sick lying Sociopath.

THE GLITZY OUTWARD APPEARANCE BUT THE EMPY POCKETS CON

These two had all the trappings that made them look like rich folk, They were heading up Polo Events which they hosted so that they could stalk their prey. They had a winery which apparently Tarequ the husband sued his mother to obtain and which he ran into the ground financially.

With a Winery and Polo it seemed like great stalking ground for wanna be’s to tap into the lives and the pocketbooks of the rich and the famous. The hoped that some of the celebrity and fame of those who attended their polo events rubbed off on them. They also hoped some the celebrity money would rub off into their pockets as well.

HOUSEWIVES OF DC

No doubt Michaela told the Housewives of DC production company that she could get them into the White House so they needed to film he . That is why someone was seeing following her around with a camera while another was seen powdering her face and primping with her hair by NBC’s Brian Williams. He astutely saw that something was very wrong with that picture.

I certainly hope that the Housewives of DC don’t put her on and indulge this sociopathic narcissist. They may feel they have an obligation to put her on the show because she did after all put them on the map. Who heard of them before that? No doubt they would garner ratings as she would be the one you love to hate- the Omarossa of the wives set. It might work at first but in the long run, it might come back to bite them . People could gang up and boycott the show after the first episode. People are LIVID at the Salahi’s and would be livid if any show made reality stars out of them. They would be rewarding bad behavior and there would be protests. It wouldn’t be worth it.

NOTHING CAN EVER REPAIR THEIR IMAGE

There is NOTHING and I mean NOTHING Michaela and Tareq Salahi can to do repair their image. No top PR agent, no spinmeister, no one can ever fix what they did. It is unfixable. No one likes a cheater and a liar. No one likes people who feel entitled that they don’t follow rules and protocol when it is essential to do so. No one likes a manipulator. No one likes phoniness. No one likes a mask like smile.
Nothing can repair their lack of remorse and their holding out for a better offer than Larry King! No one will tolerate this. We have seen enough of these non talented zeros with nothing to offer- trying to be famous for being famous. Their 15 minutes are over! They are not interesting ‘

I just hope that NO media venue comes forward to offer them money. That would speak volumes about the venue and people would in turn disrespect that venue. It may also cost the venue in the long run- just like the Gosselin’s cost TLC in bad press. €15 might sound a bit pricey for a few hours of an excursion, but for Dublin Zoo it’s well worth it. There has been  a huge amount of development and work done at the zoo over the past number of years, and if you’re one of those people who haven’t been for over a decade, it’s definitely time to reacquaint yourself. But you will need to be strategic!

First things first, it is not a culinary highlight to the city, nor are there scenic or relaxing places to sit and eat so you should really dust off your picnic basket, make a few sambos, a flask of coffee and a rug. There are loads of spots around the zoo to sit and watch the world go by as you munch on your homemade goodies. It’ll also make the day a lot more affordable!

Then, choose wisely when you go. Weekends are pretty crowded, especially in the summer. Also, pick the time of day carefully. You will be surprised at how long it will take to amble around so if you wish to see everything try to get there before lunchtime to give yourself plenty of time.

Wear comfy shoes and bring a raincoat…avoid umbrellas – you’ll just obstruct everyone else’s view!

Have a look at the start of your walk to get an idea of what events are happening. Animal feeding times are good fun to watch and the keepers will fill you in about the animal’s personalities which is really interesting.

Don’t forget that it’s the zoological gardens…Dublin Zoo is as interesting for it’s flora as its fauna so have a look at the trees, plants, flowers which are often very exotic and beautiful. The zoo has been open since 1831 and some of the trees date from around this time. There is always the argument for and against zoos, and that’s a whole other topic! But whether you’re in agreement with them ideologically or not, the grounds of Dublin Zoo are a wonderful place to just walk around!

If you want to be REALLY strategic, have a look at the Zoo website and pick what you especially want to see so you can plan your day if you’re tight on time.

And finally, don’t forget the rest of the park. The Phoenix Park is the largest park in a city centre in Europe apparently! There are loads of other things to see and do when you’re there for your zoo trip. The park is home to President McAleese in Aras an Uachtarain and you can get tours of the house on Saturday mornings which are brilliant and very informative. You can also have a snoop at the American ambassador’s residence which is there too.

And don’t forget Farmleigh which you can also get tours of and has a season of free family events during the summer. And you can also have a look at the deer herd and the polo grounds for more animal sightings!

We do know for a fact that among the slew of memberships on charitable boards, Tareq Salahi is a former member of The American Task Force on Palestine (ATFP). While the media is fixated on the hitch in Michaele Salahi’s git-along, there can be no doubt that these recently minted “party crashers” really get around.

We take you back to June 9, 2005 when Tom Nelson, operating officer of AARP, was summing up the Rock the Vote Awards night. According to the Washington Post “everyone from Sens. John McCain and Barack Obama to “American Idol” judge Randy Jackson and R&B singer Mya gathered in the National Building Museum’s Great Hall:

“You were probably wondering, as you sat down at your table, ‘What the heck is the AARP doing in a Rock the Vote Event?’” Nelson noted.

Time would soon tell that the AARP would show up in other fishy places.

And if there is anyone who must know that this weekend’s party crasher story is a crock it’s John McCain who was at the Vote Awards Night, and who along with Barack Obama, was honored with the Rock the Nation Award, Obama “for forming a multiracial coalition in winning his seat”.

Meanwhile, don’t know why Obama’s long time associates possibly could be mistaken for party crashers when they came into the tent with a Bravo Reality TV Show “Real Housewives of DC” professional camera crew and makeup artist in tow unless he was hoping for a Reality gig for wife Michelle, CBS celebrity Katie Couric or Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel.

Well, at least they didn’t use their child as a tool in order to get a spot on a Reality TV show. We ALL remember BALLOON boy. Fucking idiots.

Obama could end the “party crasher” goose chase for White House Secret Service in a proverbial New York Minute by coming clean on his almost 5-year-old social/political relationship with Tareq and Michaele Salahi.

It could save money in these recessionary times and put an end to the drama of Washington’s “unprecedented” first state dinner in a tent.

Nick and I spent yesterday hobnobbing with Argentina’s elite horse society at the Campeonato Argentino Abierto (Argentina Polo Open Championships). Franciso, who I work with, used to be fairly involved in the Argentina polo scene and scored Nick and I some great (and free, which makes them even better!) front and center tickets! Porteños are a fashionable bunch to begin with and at the polo open it’s only more pronounced and leans toward the preppy side. People sport their most fashionable clothes, pull out their brimmed hats and get ready to see and be seen!

There are two polo fields at Campo Argentino de Polo in Palermo. The first game is played on the smaller field with less seating. This game started around 2:30 but was clearly not the main event. People stood around the edges of the field watching, but the sun was hot, and there was little shade near the field. Many of the polo goers retreated to small cafes for a bottle of champion, shopped for expensive polo clothing and boots or checked out the many Mercedes-Benz models on display (both the cars and the girls).

It was a beautiful, fun, sunny day! We too retreated to the shade during much of the first polo game. However, the people watching was just as entertaining as the polo game. The second game started at 5:00 and we had second row seats! It’s very exhilarating to watch (and hear) a stamped of horses tear by! The game even went into overtime, when one team came from behind to tie the game in the last few minutes of the match.

I didn’t know much about Polo before I went to this game. Here is some of the basic history and rules of the game I’ve learned.

History of Polo:

Polo is thought to have originated in China and Persia around 2,000 years ago. The first recorded game took place in 600 BC between the Turkomans and Persians (the Turkomans won). When the British colonizers discovered the game in the mid 19th Century, a new craze swept the world. The first official polo match in Argentina took place on September 3rd, 1875, after being introduced by English and Irish immigrants. Polo’s golden age was between 1900 and 1939, when it was an Olympic sport.

Coincidentally, early gauchos in the pampas of Argentina invented a game similar to polo, called pato, which helps explain why polo caught on so easily in this country. Pato is a game played by horseback that combines elements from polo and basketball. The word pato in Spanish means “duck”, as early games used a live duck inside a basket instead of a ball. The playing field would often stretch the distance between neighboring estancias (ranches). The first team to reach its own casco (ranch house) with the duck would be declared the winner. It was the national sport of Argentina, and is still played in a more modern fashion (without a live duck).

Basic Rules:

Two teams of 4 riders play a match. A game is divided into several seven-minute periods of play, called chukkas. Most games consist of either 4, 6, or 8 chukkas, with 6 chukka games being the most common. The score doesn’t start out 0-0 but instead is adjusted to reflect the sum of the individual players’ respective handicaps. There are two mounted umpires on the field and a referee standing on the sidelines. Players must hit right handed, so to keep everything fair after each score or chukka teams change direction.

Ces temps s’y,  Polo se démarque des autres grandes marques de voitures par le faite de deux campagnes bien distinctes.

D’une part, celle de l’originalité d’affichage, en effet, pour le lancement de sa nouvelle Polo, VolksWagen a vu les choses relativement en grand.
Dans les rue de la capital française, ce n’est pas par de traditionnels panneaux 4X3 que la nouvelle Polo s’affiche, mais par de  réelles voitures placées et accrochées sur un podium construit sur mesure, 3 m 50 sur 2 m 20 réalisés par le numéro 1 mondial des mobiliers urbains, j’ai nommé JCDecaux.
C’est podiums étaient placés à 5 points stratégiques de le ville.
Le but de la marque était d’innover par l’affichage, faire une chose encore jamais réalisé, je pense que s’était réussit!

D’autre part, par ces spots publicitaires, Polo joue ici sur deux grands besoins des consommateurs, besoins qui sortent directement de la pyramide de Maslow. Ces besoins relatent ceux essentielles pour un individu.
Leurs importances va en montant, et le niveau plus haut ne peut être accédé que si celui du dessous l’est également.

Premièrement, les besoins sociaux, c’est à dire, privilégier sa communication sur le désir d’appartenir à une communauté, la communauté des gens qui possèdent une Polo.

Deuxièmement, sur l’estime de soi et des autres, se faire respecter et d’être reconnu.

Polo termine ce petit marathon de pubs par les pubs remarquables.
VW avait lancé des web spots viraux, entendez par là, des spots uniquement visibles sur le net. Ces vidéos a l’humour décalés n’auraient selon moi, pas vraiment atteint leur but, car ces vidéos ne sont visibles que sur quels sites et n’ont malheureusement pas atteint l’audience attendue, il est vrai que en regardant ces spots, il est difficile de cerner le sujet rapidement, ce qui lasse très vite.

Um estudante de direito e um funcionário do Polo Petroquímico de Camaçari foram mortos por volta das 22h da última quarta-feira, 25, durante uma ação policial de militares da 40ª Companhia Independente da Polícia (CIPM/Nordeste de Amaralina). De acordo com informações dos policiais, os jovens Everton Silva Conceição, 22 anos e Valmir dos Santos Júnior, 21, reagiram ao anúncio de prisão e acabaram baleados. Segundo o tenente Fraga, que comandava a viatura 4004, os dois suspeitos estavam em um automóvel roubado e abriram fogo contra os militares ao serem abordados pela polícia no Nordeste de Amaralina. Os dois foram levados ao Hospital Geral do Estado (HGE), mas chegaram mortos. O carro foi conduzido para a Delegacia de Repressão a Furtos e Roubos de Veículos (DRFRV), mas nenhuma arma usada pelos suspeitos foi apresentada pelos PMs até a manhã desta quinta-feira. Im Scirocco steckt ein 2 Liter TSI-Motor mit Direkteinspritzung und Turbolader.
Im Cup-Umbau bis zu 199 kW/270 PS. Ein gutes Sechsgang-DSG-Getriebe, das
über Schaltwippen am Lenkrad bedient wird darf natürlich nicht fehlen.
