by Lord Stirling

The biggest story on the Planet today is the outbreak of a very serious Advanced Biological War virus in Europe. The second biggest story on the Planet is the suppression of this story for almost two weeks by the corporate owned mainstream news media.

There is a lot we know and a lot that we can only speculate on about what is unfolding in Central Europe. We know that in mid-October, less than a month ago, there was a growing number of cases of what many thought was Swine Flu (A/H1N1) in the western part of the Ukraine. We know that many hundreds if not thousands of people in western Ukraine witnessed low flying light airplanes aerosol spraying something over Ukrainian cities during the days of October 29, 2009 and October 31, 2009. We know that beginning the night of October 29th, massive numbers of people begin to get very sick. We know that the Ukraine government issued a statement denying that it was doing any aerial spraying to combat the growing disease or authorizing any spraying over Ukrainian cities. We know that by October 30th, the Ukrainian authorities closed all schools for three weeks and banded public gatherings.

We do NOT know what disease the people were/are coming down with. We do know that doctors are describing the disease as Pneumonic Plague, or as some type of hemorrhagic fever, or as hemorrhagic influenza, or as hemorrhagic pneumonia. We know that the illness, whatever it is, does not appear to be A/H1N1. We do not know if the disease is a recombination of A/H1N1 with other viruses or some totally different virus or if it is in fact a virus. We know that the World Health Organization (WHO) has had several days to sequence the genes of the disease but has failed to release this data.

We know that WHO has NOT called for the quarantining of the Ukraine or the shutdown of all global travel to/from the area of infection and that this is the same thing that they did when Mexican Swine Flu (A/H1N1) first broke out and that the failure to contain that virus early on ensured its spread throughout the world.

We know that the internal temperature of the lungs of those with a terminal case of what many are calling ‘Ukrainian Plague’ is often from 130F to 135F. We do know that autopsies show that the lungs are filled with blood, and are black in color, and that the lung tissue has turned to mush. We know that patients who first show any signs of illness usually crash in less than 48 hours, sometimes the same day.

We know that the disease was spreading by about 200,000 per day but that this has slowed to about 100,000 day now, in the Ukraine, as people take extraordinary steps to contain the spread of the disease. We know that well over one and a third million people in the Ukraine are very ill with the disease (according to published official sources) and that over 60,000 are hospitalized in serious to critical condition. We know that the disease has a very high transmission rate with a likely low amount of viral (if it is in fact a virus) material needed to cause an infection. We know that the official reports of deaths are under 300 in the Ukraine. We also know that it is normal for hospital admissions of people with ARI (acute respiratory infection) to have a fatality rate of from 5% to 10%. We know that non-official sources were reporting over 3,000 deaths several days ago and that this number is more in tune with the 5-10% fatality rate than the official figures.

We do not know what effective treatments are for this illness. We do know that young adults seem to be more in danger of this illness. We suspect that ‘cytokine storming’ similar to that in the 1918 Spanish Flu, that killed approximately 50 million people, is taking place.

We know from official Ukrainian Health Ministry reports that the illness does not test out as Mexican Swine Flu (A/H1N1). We do not know if the existing Swine Flu vaccine has any effect, but based on the non-positive response to Swine Flu in testing, we suspect that the vaccine is ineffective as the viral protean shell is different than A/H1N1 (if in fact it is a virus that causes the illness).

Swine Flu Nation

We know that the illness has spread to Poland, where over one quarter of a million people are now very ill. We know that it has spread to Belarus and to Hungary and elsewhere in central Europe. We know that 900,000 people are said to have Swine Flu in Norway but we do not know if this is related to Ukraine Plague in any way.

We know that on November 8th a South African site (fto.co.za) carried the following:

“Suspicious aircraft were forced to land. A US operated (Russian-made long-range heavy transport) AN-124 changed its call sign from civilian to military which then triggered a response from the IAF (Indian Air Force) upon entering Pakistani air space (forcing) the plane to land in Mumbai while (a) second one was forced down by Nigerian fighter jets that also arrested the crew.”

“According to reports, China’s People’s Liberation Army Air Force contacted the Indian and Nigerian intelligence officials about the presence of these US operated Ukrainian aircraft amidst growing concern that the United States was spreading ‘biological agents’ in the Earth’s atmosphere, which some Chinese officials believed to be an attempt to (commit) mass genocide via the spread of H1N1 swine flu.”

These aircraft “were carrying ‘waste disposal’ systems that could spray up to 45,000kg (nearly 100,000 pounds) of aerial type mist from sophisticated….nano pipes” in the planes’ wings – called chemtrails.

We know that Baxter International Pharmaceuticals sent 72 kilos of human influenza H3N2 vaccine materials to 16 labs in European nations which contained live H5N1 Bird Flu viruses. We know that this was only discovered when a Czech lab tested the material on several ferrets (ferrets have a similar respiratory system to humans) and all of the ferrets died in short order. We know that Baxter claimed that this was human error. We also know that such a ‘human error’ is basically impossible with the containment protocols in place at Baxter and any other modern biolabs using Biosafety Level 3 (BLS-3) lab technology.

We know that in mid-August a Joseph Moshe, who is a Mossad biological warfare expert, called in to Dr. A. True Ott’s national radio talk show and reported that Baxter was getting ready to release a deadly plague from its Ukrainian lab and that he was shortly meeting with US Attorneys in Los Angles to give evidence about this. We know that shortly thereafter Moshe was apprehended by Federal agents and LA police and taken to the Israeli Consulate. We know that he was quickly flown to Israel and that no further word has come from him.

We know that over the last three or so years a large number of biological experts, from a number of places all over the world, have died strange deaths and that this has been commented on by various publications in the past.

We know that the sudden appearance of Mexican Swine Flu (A/H1N1) virtually had to have been a release from a biological warfare lab. We know that A/H1N1 has gene sequences from three different types (American, Asian, and African) of Swine Flu, of Bird Flu, of two different types of human seasonal flu, and of Spanish Flu and that such a recombination is so unlikely in nature as to be virtually impossible. We know that the WHO policies of not requiring a major quarantine of Mexico ensured that A/H1N1 would spread throughout the world.

We know that the current Swine Flu “Vaccine” is almost totally untested, and that the manufactures are protected from lawsuits for even deliberate acts that result in deaths and that nations acquiring the vaccines are required to sign contracts agreeing not to release negative information on the “vaccine” to the public. We know that published additives to the “vaccine” include highly dangerous-to-human-health substances.

Swine Flu In Sweden

We know that the corporate owned mainstream news media (with strong links to global banking families) have censored this story in a way that has never happen before. We know that the outbreak of a unknown but deadly and very rapidly spreading disease in Europe is the largest story on Earth but that it is NOT being reported on.

The show must go on!

I ran into a blog entry on Cnet the other day. It was entitled “LCD making worse for the environment

I ran into a blog entry on Cnet the other day. It was entitled “LCD making worse for the environment than Coal?”. This got me thinking. LCD televisions and screens are often seen as “green”, eco-friendly, because they consume less energy than conventional CRT tubes. However, according to the blog, during manufacturing nitrogen trifluoride, whose globe-warming effect, according to scientists, is 17.000 times stronger than that from CO2, is used in chemical vapor disposition. I have heard a lot of requests to move to flat panel displays for lower energy consumption, but this was the first I heard about the harm during manufacturing. Similar claims have been published around the Toyota Pruis. As the article Environmental Pollution: Prius vs. Hummer demonstrates, information is not often manipulated because the true data is not available.

It illustrates very well the importance of looking at the impact of a product throughout its whole lifecycle, from manufacturing all the way through recycling. Most companies today unfortunately do not provide that information, nor do they focus on that. We find many, laudable, efforts to reduce this or that substance from a product, but it is not put into context. If we take a substance out, by what do we replace it? Is the new substance, including its manufacturing, usage and recycling, less harmful than the previous one? These are the real questions that we need to ask ourselves.

A number of companies are using “Design for the Environment” to take the product lifecycle into account right from the product design stage. In doing so, they not only look at the manufacturing of the product, but also at its usage and recycling. Such approach requires an in depth understanding not only of the components going into the product (which can be obtained from the suppliers), but also from the product usage (work with consumers), and recycling operations. But to achieve this, the company needs data, provided by suppliers, the distribution channel, the consumers, and the reverse logistics partners. This is becoming the next battlefield. The companies that will be first at being able to convince their partners to share more information and use it to their advantage to make “greener” products will be the ultimate beneficiaries. Legislation helps, but has a tendency to lag behind the innovators.

With the same logic in mind, I was surfing another blog entry, called “BPA-free and proud of it”, pointing out that Sigg, a Swiss company, has developed reusable drinking bottles in stainless steel to reduce the usage of disposable bottles and cups. It’s an interesting concept. However, let’s think about the lifecycle impact. What has been the effect of manufacturing the stainless steel and paint on the environment? How much water is used to rinse the bottle? If the bottle needs to be collected for refill, what is the effect of the collection process? And I could continue that way. Frankly, I don’t know the answers to those questions, and the bottle may be a great addition to our increasing list of “greener” products. Unfortunately, I don’t know whether anybody ever did the exercise.

You disagree with me, obviously feel free to react.

The proposed dredging of the inner harbour by Fremantle Ports has come under scrutiny from the Cottesloe council, who are employing an independent consultant and have stated they would take legal action if the dredging affected the Cottesloe beach and ocean. Strangely enough the Mosman Park council has no concerns about eventual polution of beaches and the ocean, although they are closer to Fremantle.

It is of course not the first time the ports will be dredging and they are well experienced in it. It is essential for the commercial viability of the port that it will be able to accommodate the much larger container vessels, as they will otherwise be redirected to other ports like Melbourne.

There are not many things I hate, but visual and noise pollution are two I can’t stand. For me they are an indication of a lack of consideration for other people in the community.

As far as I am concerned it is; keep your noise down and your ugly signs out of my sight.

Every major street seems to be filled with signage; signs on buildings, on cars, on A-signs, on banners, on posts, windows, doors and benches, with many shops showing more than a simple sign to promote their business.

I doubt anyone is actually still noticing individual signs, so their promotional value might well be over-estimated. You can’t see a sign for the signs really!

One venue that gets up my nose is the Fremantle Art Centre. For heaven’s sake people, you are an art centre in a heritage building and you think it is o.k. to display five large banners hanging on the corner.

It looks awful. It is ugly. Be creative and dare to be different, that is what art should be all about. Surely there are better and more aesthetic ways to promote your shows, concerts and classes.

The reigns of power are slipping from the hands of government and big business.

Carter-Ruck Law Firm ,

probably the most incompitant law firm in the world at the momment., as well as immoral!

Trafigura ,

multunational that trades on toxic waste ,death and disease and oil and spends a lot of money to keep this quiet rather than improve thier business practices.

Labour MP Paul Farrelly local hero , or at least a polition that is doing his job.

This MP stood up in parliment and asked some very searching questions on big business and thier business practices , especially in this day and age when the people are being asked to change THIER lifestyles and pay MORE TAX for ENVIRONMENTAL REASONS!!!!

THEY ARE STILL GAGGING THE GUARDIAN ,BUT NOT THE INTERNET!!

The Guardian is still forbidden by the terms of the existing injunction, granted by a vacation duty judge, Mr Justice Maddison, to give further information about the Minton report, or its contents. Last month, Trafigura agreed to pay more than £30m in compensation and legal costs to 30,000 inhabitants of Abidjan in Ivory Coast, for “flu-like symptoms” they might have suffered following the dumping.

THAT’S A LOT OF MONEY FOR SOMETHING THEY CLAIM HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH THEM!!

THEY TRIED TO GAG HIM WITH A D-NOTICE , ……..well the people DIDN’T NOTICE!!!! AND WE WON!!!!

CARTER RUCK AND TRAFIGURA ,I HAVE SCRAPPED BETTER THINGS OFF MY SHOES!!!!

Profiteers in death polution and misery YOU SHOULD ALL BE IN JAIL !!!

“Yesterday, I understand, Carter-Ruck quite astonishingly warned of legal action if the Guardian reported my question. In view of the seriousness of this, will you accept representations from me over this matter and consider whether Carter-Ruck’s behaviour constitutes a potential contempt of parliament?”
The Commons question reveals that Trafigura has obtained a hitherto secret injunction, known as a “super-injunction”, to prevent disclosures about toxic oil waste it arranged to be dumped in west Africa in 2006, making thousands of people ill.

THE ARTICLE

Trafigura Drops Bid To Gag Guardian Over MP’s Question

An unprecedented attempt by a British oil trading firm to prevent the Guardian reporting parliamentary proceedings has collapsed following a spontaneous online campaign to spread the information the paper had been barred from publishing.
Carter-Ruck, the law firm representing Trafigura, was accused of infringing the supremacy of parliament after it insisted that an injunction obtained against the Guardian prevented the paper from reporting a question tabled on Monday by the Labour MP Paul Farrelly.
Farrelly’s question was about the implications for press freedom of an order obtained by Trafigura preventing the Guardian and other media from publishing the contents of a report related to the dumping of toxic waste in Ivory Coast.
In today’s edition, the Guardian was prevented from identifying Farrelly, reporting the nature of his question, where the question could be found, which company had sought the gag, or even which order was constraining its coverage.
But overnight numerous users of the social networking site Twitter posted details of Farrelly’s question and by this morning the full text had been published on two prominent blogs as well as in the magazine Private Eye.
Carter-Ruck withdrew its gagging attempt by lunchtime, shortly before a 2pm high court hearing at which the Guardian was about to challenge its stance, with the backing of other national newspapers.
MPs from all three major parties condemned the firm’s attempt to prevent the reporting of parliamentary proceedings. Farrelly told John Bercow, the Speaker: “Yesterday, I understand, Carter-Ruck quite astonishingly warned of legal action if the Guardian reported my question.
Farrelly is asking Jack Straw, the justice secretary, about the implications for press freedom of a high court injunction obtained on 11 September 2009 by Trafigura “on the publication of the Minton report on the alleged dumping of toxic waste in the Ivory Coast, commissioned by Trafigura”.
The oil traders continue to deny that the waste could have caused serious or fatal injuries.
The use of “super-injunctions”, under which commercial corporations claim the right to keep secret the fact that they have been to court, has been growing. Anonymity is also increasingly being granted to individual litigants.
Last week, an anonymity order was overturned at the supreme court under which Mohammed al-Ghabra, an alleged al-Qaida financier named in official UN and Treasury publications, was to be known only as G. A further pending supreme court case involving an MI5 officer’s memoirs is currently only known as “A v B”.
Alan Rusbridger, the editor of the Guardian, said yesterday: “I’m very pleased that common sense has prevailed and that Carter-Ruck are now prepared to vary their draconian injunction to allow reporting of parliament. It is time that judges stopped granting super-injunctions which are so absolute and wide-ranging that nothing about them can be reported at all.”
Carter-Ruck, whose partner Adam Tudor has been representing Trafigura, issued a press release conceding: “The order would indeed have prevented the Guardian from reporting on the parliamentary question which had been tabled for later this week.” But the firm said the Guardian’s reporting on the issue had been “highly misleading”.
The firm added: “There is no question of Trafigura seeking to gag the media from reporting parliamentary proceedings, and the parties have now agreed to an amendment to the existing order so as to reflect that.”
The previous night, Carter-Ruck had written to the Guardian saying: “The threatened publication would place the Guardian in contempt of court … please confirm by immediate return that the publications threatened will not take place.”
At Westminster, the Liberal Democrat MP Evan Harris said there was a need to “control the habit of law firms” of obtaining secrecy injunctions, and his colleague David Heath told the Commons a “fundamental principle” was being threatened: that MPs should be able to speak freely and have their words reported freely.
On the Conservative side, David Davis, the former shadow home secretary, criticised the rising use of super-injunctions, in which the fact of the injunction is itself kept secret.
He said courts should not be allowed to grant injunctions forbidding the reporting of parliament.
Bercow said the issue could be raised formally as a matter of privilege, but he understood the injunction had been lifted.
Farrelly told the Guardian afterwards: “The issuing by the courts of so-called super-injunctions is rightly controversial and a matter of growing concern. That is why, using parliamentary privilege, I tabled these questions.

“The practice offends the time-honoured rule against prior restraint, which safeguards freedom of expression in this country.

“It also fails to protect whistleblowers acting in the public interest. The huge legal bills involved in fighting cases, too, have a chilling effect on legitimate investigative journalism.

“So often, the beneficiaries are big corporations. The fact that the press is also barred from reporting the existence of these gagging orders is doubly pernicious.”“

October 13, 2009 “The Guardian”

SOMETHING IS ROTTEN IN THE HOUSE OF AFRICA!!!

http://cuthulan.wordpress.com/2009/09/13/somali-pirates-guided-by-london-intelligence-team-report-says/

BUT the first step is realising the problem ,the next step is getting rid of the problem……..

“All government, of course, is against liberty. The whole aim of practical politics is to keep the populace alarmed (and hence clamorous to be led to safety) by menacing it with an endless series of hobgoblins, all of them imaginary. Most people want security in this world, not liberty.”
“The most dangerous man to any government is the man who is able to think things out… without regard to the prevailing superstitions and taboos. Almost inevitably he comes to the conclusion that the government he lives under is dishonest, insane, intolerable. It doesn’t take a majority to make a rebellion; it takes only a few determined leaders and a sound cause.”

SOLUTION?

You may have seen the story in the Cape Piscatorial Society’s Newsletter about the pollution of the Smallblaar (Molenaars) River. You will find below the images of the filthy water pouring into the stream from the Du Toit’s Estate.

However apparently Deon Roussouw of Nature Conservation has been in contact with the transgressors and they have agreed to close the outlet from the dams whilst the work is underway and only reopen them once the water has had time to settle out. With rain today hopefully most of the filth will be washed out of the system in short order and be back to normal.

Digging out old ponds caused severe discolouration of the waters of the normally pristine Smallblaar Stream.

So well done to Deon and to Molopong Aquaculture for taking action to protect the stream.. I understand that the new owners of the estate have requested a meeting with the CPS chairman to obviate similar problems in the future, all of which are good signs of some concern and cooperation..

I am not sure that really makes me feel a whole lot better about having an intensive fish farming operation on the banks of a pristine mountain river but it is a start that they have taken our concerns seriously enough to stop or reduce the damage, and that is all to the good..

Gone Fishing:

Due to the pollution of the river, as mentioned above, and to avoid a total waste of my afternoon having been booked to fish on the Smallblaar, I rescheduled to fish the Elandspad, Phoned the office, established that there was no-one booked and managed a couple of hours of remarkably good fishing given the late hour, near dark conditions and a nasty, cold and gusty wind..

The tiny tiddlers that seemed to be the only fish we could take a week ago were replaced by some nice fish and a decent hatch of mayflies did no harm, although most of the fish weren’t rising.

The only word of warning is that despite the still moderately high water, the lack of sunshine and the blustery wind the better trout were still quite reluctant to commit to any fly that was too big or which dragged in the slightest. A difficult presentation to make when fishing with a long fine leader in an inconsistent gale. It would however have been impossible with a shorter leader as the complex currents would have dragged the fly in moments.

I didn’t fish well, so the “good fishing” epithet refers to the trout and the stream and not the efficacy of the angler. I missed fish, broke off on fish and messed up more often than I would normally expect. Mind you the weather wasn’t nice and didn’t make things easy.

The top fly? Yet again the Spun Dun, although the smaller poly yarn version worked better it was very tricky to see in the poor light and much of the time I had to use a slightly larger deer hair version, which was more visible but I am convinced that some of the fish failed to commit to it at the last moment and , as the Brit’s would say “Came short”. When possible under the conditions, 7X tippet, an 18’ leader and smaller more sparse fly patterns did the trick, and if the fish are being that discerning already we are going to have our work cut out later in the season. I think that I might start breaking out the #22 hooks shortly..

Something new: I ran out of floatant the other day and in a rush didn’t have much choice, the tackle shop where I stopped only had one lonesome container of Loon Payette Floatant, there were no alternatives available so I took it. It is a fairly solid paste with the consistency of “lip gloss”, in a small plastic “bucket” type of container and you simply rub a smidgen onto your fingers and then on to the flies. Having sullied almost all of my fishing shirts with greasy dribbles from the normal “upside down” semi liquid floatants this stuff looked to have an advantage. It worked really well and proved to be far less messy, plus it doesn’t have the problem of squirting all over the place due to the change in pressure from driving up to the mountians. If it can stand the heat in summer without pouring all over my shirt fronts I might have found something of a winner here. I think that it is probably supplied by Jandi Trading here in South Africa and you should keep your eye open for it, currently I am quite taken with the stuff.

I will say that it is a long time since I have been on the water in the late afternoon, it is frequently not that productive and usually I am either returning a client to his hotel or simply too tired to carry on into the dusk. I really must try it more often, despite the adverse conditions the fishing was, as said, very good and had I been “on form” I would have had thirty fish in a couple of hours.

Do you know when you wake up in the morning, turn on the TV, and feel like the world is kind of a crap? That’s how I feel today.

I was zapping and suddenly found a documental programme about Central American corals. It seems that some corals and whole the autochthonous fauna are dying due to the fact that water‘s being polluted by… – you know – humans (homo stultus stultus): fertilizers, among other chemical products, make phytoplankton (a sort of microscopic plants as food for littlest sea animals) reproduce quickly and abundantly, so that, all of the overpopulation of phytoplankton reduces the quantity of oxygen, hence many places in the world have become seasonal or perpetual ‘Death Zones’ because some fishes have NO time to escape from that huge lack of oxygen. Death Zones exists all over the globe and they’re increasing. Despite this, the worst thing ever is that there’s more…

Because some things start their voyage in the coast but hardly ever they come back. Do you know what’s about? PLASTIC. Overseas there are many islands whose birds, such as the albatross, have got used to the rides of rubbish and they indentify plastic lighter, industrial plastic, plastic dummies, plastic tops, and a large etcetera as food, so they take such things and carry them to their chicks. That’s the damn reason why scientists have found dead albatross’ stomachs full of plastic products –autopsy isn’t needed, is it?- .That’s so disgusting. Even worst, likely this happens from the beginning of the damn plastic era, 20th century, over one hundred year ago.

So every time you hold plastic on your hands, first consider that probably piece of plastic’s going to end up in the sea or a seabird stomach. And here it comes the question: Why do we use an immortal container for things that we actually use just for seconds? Are we so horrible? I think so.

<strike> </strike>Castellano<strike> </strike>

Contenedor inmortal versus contenido perecedero

¿Somos tan viles? Creo que sí.

Thanks to the Commonwealth Games in October 2010, Delhi, despite having 44 lakh (4.4 million) vehicl

Thanks to the Commonwealth Games in October 2010, Delhi, despite having 44 lakh (4.4 million) vehicles — more than those of Mumbai, Chennai and Kolkata put together — has shaken off the dubious tag of being the country’s most polluted city. Mumbai, which has less than half as many vehicles as Delhi, now tops the list in vehicular emissions because its roads are more congested, and there are fewer vehicles running on compressed natural gas (CNG).These are the findings of a recent study by the New York-based Desert Research Institute.

In the last four years, the Delhi government has spent over Rs 8,500 crore (Rs 850 million) to build flyovers and widen roads, another Rs 7,000 crore (Rs 700 million) on the second phase of the Metro rail project and over Rs 2,000 crore (Rs 200 million) for new ‘low floor’ CNG buses. “Faster moving vehicles and better public transport have meant a lower emission footprint in Delhi,” said Sarath Guttikunda, associate professor at the institute, who led the study that compares vehicular emissions in 2008 across 20 big and small cities of India.

In comparison, Mumbai’s infrastructure, despite the opening of the recent sealink between Bandra and Worli, has improved little. Both cities record a 10-12 per cent increase in the number of vehicles every year. “Carbon dioxide (CO2) and particulate matter emission load from Mumbai buses, three-wheelers and taxis is more than four times that from similar vehicles in Delhi,” said Guttikunda.

This week (4th) was horrible in terms of Internet bandwidth. Some main data connection lines between Europe and Asia apparently were damaged leading to tremendously over-strained local Internet providers. That’s just to apologize for not having updated duly this time – nevertheless I’ll date back the entry to last Sunday when I arrived back from the “beach-trip” to 南戴河 (Nan Dai He).

As you can tell from the pictures it was big fun and very Chinese of course. It’s just nice for me having the opportunity to experience that kind of team-building office vacation. On Friday, we had the day off in order to being able to prepare for the trip and on top, as my colleagues used to say: “have a lazy sleep”. I confidently followed their advice, of course We took off from Dong Zhi Men Subway Station in the noon time and arrived in Nan Dai He at about 6 pm in the evening. The welcome dinner was quite liquid owing to a few bottles of 白酒 (Bai Jiu, literally meaning “white alcohol”; I’d rather translate it with hard liquor or schnapps). Following that, we strolled to the beach accompanied by the tones of an amplified harmonica, played by one of the bosses, and enjoyed some delicious and fresh seafood.

For the next day I mainly want the pictures to tell the water park story, because I could hardly make up my mind due to seeing sooooooooo many people in one place… it somehow reminded me of Tian’An Men in the Golden Week last year.

Nevertheless, on Sunday we had a good time on the not so crowded beach just in front of our hotel with playing some soccer and yeah, swim in the not so European standard clean sea… it was so polluted. But I don’t want to go into more detail here, as I know Chinese people are partly embarrassed of what they are doing to the environment. The question on the other hand is, how would any other people rich nation handle this sensitive topic? However, I experience a change of mind here in my job concerning environmental and social responsibility issues and can only support that by all means.

if your like most people who arent vegetarians/vegans you arent aware of whats in your food or how

if your like most people who arent vegetarians/vegans you arent aware of whats in your food or how “good” they really are for you. you just eat because your hungry and often dont think about whats actually there, how it might be polluted or really bad for you. in fact, a lot of the foods we’ve been growing up thinking are really good for us or even polluted. yeah, you read that right, polluted.

did you have any idea that pestisides like ddt, long illegal within the united states, are not only still here but in the food we eat? they remain in the ground still. the plants take this pestiside out of the ground and make it part of themselves. these plants are often harvested and can be fed not only to us in all non-organic veggies but to the animals most americans also eat. the animals magnify the polutants they get from the plants and once we eat them this number is magnafied again. we have an even larger number of polutants this way than if we had just eaten the plants themselves.

any idea how many drugs are in your meat? living here in the states the number of drugs is uregulated so there could be more than you could imagine. if we lived somewhere like europe, there would be only 4 and none would be used in humans. here, any number of them could be used in humans and the number is so high many countries wont even import meat from this country. worried about swine flu now? maybe even any number of other colds? thanks to the meat your eating and all of the antibiotics used in both the animals and in humans we’re practically a breading ground for a superbug that doctors wont be able to treat. we’re all welcoming a pandemic.

worried about cancer? meat makes your risk even higher. no matter how much you eat your risk is higher.

like fish for the fatty acids? no good health links. in fact, it may even damage your health and you can get the same fatty acids from other scources other than fish and fish oil.

i bet you may even be one of those people who believe humans need meat. lets lock you in a room with a cow with your only weapons being your own teeth and fingernails. its really hard to kill that cow in the first place, none the less eat it. thats why tigers are carnivores: those things are specialized. know your intestines? your meat stays rotting udigested in them because you cat digest all of it like a carnivore could. humans are meant to eat non-animal products. with them we’re not doing ourselves any good.

dont want to believe me? look at my links below “know your food”, see what i’m saying is true. still dont want to believe it after that? you know how to use google. feel free to look into it all yourself. theres plenty on the web to show it and just as much in a local library. you just have to be willing to find it.

I’ve just receibed an email from greenpeace. We have an incinerator in Bizkaia which is only profitable for the companies. It has been demostrated 5 years after its construction that there is a lot of polution in its surroundings. It is very bad for the bizkain citizens’ healthy. Also, in Gipuzkoa they want to construct another incineration plant. It is easy to firm. Just click the photo above and go on.

The new rates will come into effect from 2010.
Souflias announced a new programme (2009-12) to provide incentives for scrapping old cars in an effort to take off the road vehicles that pollute the environment. Also, he referred to changes for the current restricted zone in central Athens, according to which cars that pollute heavily would be excluded from entering it.

Editor: Read this post and then please leave a comment explaining it’s importance and the ramifications for Canada

Canada dead last on climate change

We can no longer use the U.S. as an excuse for inaction

By GERALD BUTTS, FreelanceJuly 8, 2009

Here is a sobering thought to consider as Canada prepares to assume the presidency of the G8 following this week’s meeting in Italy: Canada has for the first time replaced the United States as the worst performer on tackling climate change among G8 nations. This was revealed in the recent G8 Climate Scorecard, released jointly by WWF, the global conservation organization, and the global insurance company Allianz.

The report confirms recent events in North America: There is a new worldview in the U.S. as it rejoins the global community, while Canada continues with the “No, we can’t” approach adopted by successive Canadian governments.

The fact that the U.S. is rapidly leaving Canada in its wake on climate change is particularly important, as Canada’s political leaders have repeatedly claimed that Canada couldn’t afford to move faster or further than our major trading partner.

If that argument ever had merit, it certainly doesn’t now as we see the difference that political leadership can make.

More has been done in the U.S. in the last six months than in the last 30 years. We have seen tough new standards for greenhouse-gas emissions from cars introduced by the Obama administration. There have been massive investments in energy efficiency, green power and public transit. A renewed respect for science, backed by new funding. Climate legislation that would cap emissions from large industrial polluters has been passed by the House of Representatives, and could become law before the international negotiations over a new global deal on climate action in Copenhagen later this year.

As we prepare to participate in the Copenhagen climate summit in December and to play host to next year’s G8 meeting in Huntsville, Ont., we should be taking the longer view and building a legacy of a green economy that will make Canadians proud. The good news is that progress in the U.S. shows how much can change, and how quickly, with a simple change in mindset, from “No we can’t” to “Yes we can.”
