Twilight, Twitards, Twihaters… I probably wouldn’t care (or know so much about the books/movies) if it weren’t for the fact that I CAN’T AVOID IT.  Whether it’s pro or anti, Twilight news is eeeeeeverywhere.  In the Bust newsletter, on my Youtube homepage, there’s even a thread on the Attachment Parenting website I frequent.  And here I am writing about it… crap.

Team Jacob? Team Edward?  I’m more of a Team Buffy.  Or team Spike. Mmmmmm Spike.  Thank goodness for the fact that my baby girl is too new for Twilight to ever be relevant to her life – I would have to teach her that vampires are for staking, not for sparkling.  (As it is I will have my hands full preparing her for the zombie attack.. more on that some other day).  Of course, by the time she is old enough for the teen-screaming-at-pretty-boys phase, there will be some other disturbing crap out for me to roll my eyes at.  Or maybe (hopefully) she’ll take after me – I had my share of stupid teen heroin-chic crushes, but was more the type to draw angst-y journal entries over them than squee about it.

There are plenty of reasons to not like the whole Twilight phenomena.  The little of the first book I managed to rad was CRAP.  Terrible writing.  Bella is frankly pathetic and a Mary Sue at the same time.  If I encountered her in real life I would probably do my best to give her shaken-teen-syndrome.  I got bored with heroines that passively wait to be rescued around the same time I learned to read.  Edward strikes me as an Emo Ken (neutered vampires are just sad… remember when they were monsters?) with little to no emotional depth, designed to be pretty, brooding, and very little else.  Which is enough for most teen girls (and many of their moms), it seems.

Some could point out that Spike from Buffy, who I mentioned earlier (once again, yum), could be described the same way.  The difference is in the Buffy series, the writers go out of their way to crack the brooding facade and then point out how silly the whole thing is (The Season 7 episode with Andrew taping everyone is a perfect example of this… but only other Jossheads will get that one).

Of all the (manymany) reasons to hate Twilight, there are two thrown around that I find disturbing.  The “OMG Stephanie Meyer is a MORMON!!!” thing is just sad.  The author’s religion most likely has influenced the ideals in her books, but so far we still have this nifty little “freedom of religion” thing in America.  There’s not a clause that says “unless it’s an unpopular religion”.  There are plenty of things I could say about the role of women in the Mormon church, but I will never say that Mormon women should not be allowed to write wildly popular teen fiction.

Then there’s the popular “bad role model” argument.  While I have already agreed that no self-respecting girl should want to be anything like Bella, it’s going overboard to say that being a fan of Twilight is going to ruin a girl for healthy relationships for the rest of her life.  The same has been said about Barbie, about Disney princess movies, child-nurturing dolls… the list goes on.  I firmly believe that if I raise my daughter with strong ideals, with the idea that she should always love and respect herself, and fill her life with good role models, that a little crappy pop culture will not ruin her mind.  The best thing I can do to teach her a healthy relationship model is to live that model myself. To have an open and loving relationship with her father, and if something happened to end that relationship to continue living my life as a strong, self-respecting woman.

And of course, to teach her the importance of a long-distance head shot on a charging zombie.  Gotta avoid that virus-infected splatterback.

*looks at title* Hmm.. pretty off topic today.  So in Homebrewing news, I had my housemates crack open the first bottle of Bouncin’ Baby IPA to see how it was coming along (bottled 11-15-09).  There’s a trace of carbonation, but it still has a way to go.  I’m planning on it being ready right around my due date! Hurrah!

And in knitting… still killing myself on xmas presents.  I’ve been making a lot of progress, but have been reduced to applying tiger balm and taking Tylenol on a regular basis.  Traitor wrists.  Once I am done with gift knitting, I have my eye on making this poncho with this stashed yard.  And I really really am going to make myself some socks. This time I mean it.  The Great Stash Cleanup yesterday unearthed three different sets of DPNs with the beginning of a ribbed sock cuff.  I frogged them all and swore I will actually make some damn socks instead of an almost-wristband.

I have been wearing this skirt for quite some time now,.. then I suddenly realized  that it’s actually a poncho.

Because of my profession I felt quite stupid not being able to see that, -but at the same time I’m just happy with my new piece of clothing.

As many of you are no doubt already aware, i spent Hallowe’en weekend in seattle with jo-ann and trevor. The trip started off with a somewhat ill-fated trip to Tan Popo for all-you-can-eat sushi. The sushi and assorted Japanese foods were fantastic, my ill-fated remark refers rather to Trevor’s stomach and his need to share it’s relative fullness for the rest of the night via assorted grunts and groans which Jo-ann and I only put up with because we were both well-sauced by this point.

The next morning it was up and out (at least in theory) on our way to Seattle. Trevor and Jo-ann had rented a fantastic grey Prius for our little road trip south of the border and somewhat predictably I now want one – in all fairness so does Jo-ann. Anyway, the road trip was lovely and we soon arrived at the home of Cale and Sacha. Needless to say, drinking ensued. That night we were off to Showbox SoDo – which was a wicked venue, like a big old warehouse, making me feel very much like i was Kyra Sedgewick in the movie ‘Singles’ – to see The Airborne Toxic Event who were brilliant. We did shots of tequila and drank supercans of PBR all night and it was amazing. (BTW, my favourite song by The Airborne Toxic Event is Sometime Around Midnight – click to see the video)

The next day was largely a hangover day and we sort of hung around the house acclimatising to the surprising warmth of Seattle. Later Trevor and I ventured out to the supermarket unsupervised which proved somewhat disastrous as it was not unlike two Id’s who’d left their Ego at home. We came back with over $100 worth of beer, chips, and pop, and beer only costs (!) $10 a case in the states. Any man who can pass a bag of Lay’s Limon or a six-pack of Land Shark Lager is a stronger man than I.

That night we stayed in and watched some terrible hallowe’en fare. The best of the three movies we watched was called ‘Shrooms’ and it was about some supposed friends who flew from America to Ireland on holiday to take mushrooms. I say supposed friends because very early into the film we found ourselves wondering why people who hated eachother as much as this bunch did would waste a thousand-ish dollars flying across the atlantic to spend a holiday together. Furthermore, are there no drugs in America? Who flies to Ireland to take mushrooms? Is this some sort of trend I don’t know about? Is this what all the kids are doing these days? Needless to say all but one of the “friends” ended up dead and the killer, after getting away with all the murders, escaped, for some reason, into the forest. It actually wasn’t a terrible movie apart from these and maybe a few more plot holes. We also watched ‘Stan Helsing’ which was just plain fucked up.

The next day it was time for some sightseeing in downtown Seattle starting with Pike Place Market. We stopped in for a Starbucks, Jo-ann had a thing for the fishermen, and Trevor, for some reason, drank a Hangtown Mary which included a raw oyster dangling nausea-inducingly from a cocktail pick. Later, despite protest from Jo-ann, we ascended the Space Needle which was actually properly amazing. It’s not right in the downtown core so you have a view of that, Puget Sound, and the whole surrounding area. Also, you can walk outside right the way around which is really cool; we had a drink up there and all loved it.

Later, we all kitted up and proceeded to get our drink on. After some initial indecision Sacha decided on Dorothy over Lederhosen, Cale topped his outfit up with a mustache, and I affixed my Cher wig and slipped into my poncho. Upon leaving the house Trevor was already quite drunk, rather foreshadowing the events that later transpired, but at this point each of us were blissfully unaware of anyone’s drunkenness but our own.

After arriving at Showbox at the Market – again, amazing – we got stamps on our wrists and proceeded to enjoy the party-time sounds of Seattle’s very own Cool-Ade. It was a brilliant party and then all of a sudden Cale came up to the rest of us and said that Trevor had been kicked out for being too drunk. After some initial disappointment Cale hatched the rather masterful plan of re-dressing Trevor in some extra bits and pieces, including my poncho and wig (I was also wearing a fantastic psychedelic shirt). So Cale painstakingly removes the Fred Flintstone costume from the now balance-challenged Trevor and replaces it with the wig and poncho. Only after he is fully re-dressed does Trevor point out the big black X that is drawn over the entry stamp on his wrist, precluding him from returning at all.

After a fall in the parking lot and the poncho moving again from Trevor, back to me, and then to Sacha, we’re now on our way home and out of downtown Seattle having only arrived an hour previous. All is going swimmingly again until we’re speeding down the freeway and Trevor decides to open his door to vomit. Only we’re going 65 MPH. And he’s not wearing his seatbelt. So a bit of shitstorm unleashes in the car and Jo-ann and I are trying to hold onto Trevor as his relieves his turbulent stomach onto the busy road (and a little bit onto the car door).

Now, just as we’re trying to find our way back onto the freeway after diverging in order to let Trevor finish up what do we see but A LANDSHARK BILLBOARD! Realizing that this is indeed a stupendous moment Sacha pulls the car to a hault and Cale and I dance a jig beneath it as Jo-ann tries capture the moment on film rather unsuccessfully.

Upon arriving home Trevor headed straight for bed and despite thinking it was a good idea to drug him awake – we failed – the night died down after that. Needless to say Trevor woke up with the mater and pater of all hangovers and we hit the road home.

En route we stopped to get Jack In The Box which was BRILLIANT, Jo-ann decided she needed to try every flavour of vitamin water, and Trevor usurped a coat that I liked at the outlet mall for his own – coatstealer. Finally, the next day we had lunch at the Black Frog before Jo-ann and Trevor had to head back to their real lives in the Big Onion. It was a fabulous trip.

A few things I learned:
1. Trevor’s new nickname is Captain Obvious as he has an uncanny ability for vocalising the obvious.
2. Showbox is fantastic. Go there if you’re in Seattle.
3. Ditto, the Space Needle, it’s surprisingly good.
4. Avoid Trinity night club at all costs. It was aweful and an event transpired as confusing as it was angering.
5. I am quite good at the playing the drums in Rock Band.
6. Do not show Trevor a coat you like at an outlet mall.
7. Lay’s Limon are amazing. (Why do we not have them in Canada?)
8. Jo-ann and I are quite good at swaying a la Sonny and Cher, or at least we seemed to be after a few drinks.
9. Bluto may be the best name ever in the history of horror films.
10. Do not go to Ireland to take shrooms.

Antonio de Nigris murió después de sufrir una  complicación cardiaca en su casa en el centro de Grecia, informaron autoridades médicas y el club de futbol.

Los resultados preliminares de una autopsia indicaban que sufrió complicaciones cardiacas, dijo un médico forense estatal, pero aclaró que se necesitaban otros análisis.

La esposa de de Nigris se puso en contacto con el club después de que su esposo se sintiera mal en las primeras horas del lunes, dijo Christos Tsoumaris, vocero del club Larissa.

“Todavía estamos tratando de entender qué fue lo que pasó”, dijo Tsoumaris. “Nuestras condolencias están con su esposa y con su pequeña hija”.

De Nigris jugó con el club español Villarreal y se mudó a Grecia esta temporada después de participar en el Ankaragucu de Turquía.

Larissa ocupa actualmente el 11 puesto de la tabla de 16 equipos de la liga griega con 10 puntos. Panathinaikos encabeza la tabla con 28 puntos.

La repentina muerte del delantero del principal club de futbol de esta ciudad del norte griego provocó una verdadera conmoción.

Cientos de hinchas del club de la Primera División se acercaron al estadio del Larisa FC para rendirle homenaje.

Antes, sus compañeros de equipo, el cuerpo técnico y directivos visitaron el memorial improvisado para presentar sus respetos.

“No puedo encontrar las palabras para decir ahora lo que sentimos. Mucha tristeza y dolor”, dijo Giannis Tzimas, un dirigente del club.

“Ha sido un gran shock para todos nosotros. Un día muy difícil. Un hombre muy bueno nos ha abandonado”, destacó el entrenador Marinos Ouzounidis.

La entidad deportiva agregó que el Hospital Universitario General de Larissa anunciará la causa oficial de la muerte una vez efectuada la autopsia.

“Con profundo pesar, la dirección, el cuadro técnico, los futbolistas y los miembros del club expresan sus condolencias a los allegados del jugador, en especial a su mujer Sonia y a su hija de cinco años Miranda”, anunció el club helénico.

Según la prensa local, el futbolista de 31 años de edad empezó a sentirse mal el domingo de madrugada y su mujer llamó a una ambulancia. Pero De Nigris había fallecido a su llegada al hospital.

El atacante mexicano fichó en agosto pasado por el Larisa, procedente del Ankaragucu turco, y disputó seis partidos de liga griega sin marcar ningún gol.

De manera sorpresiva y fulminante, el futbolista regio Antonio De Nigris falleció hoy de paro cardíaco en Grecia.

Su muerte fue confirmada hace unos minutos por su hermano Alfonso “Poncho” De Nigris y presumiblemente se dio cuando estaba en su casa en Grecia.

De Nigris contaba con 31 años de edad y jugaba actualmente para AE Larisa del futbol griego.

El regio tuvo una carrera meteórica, debutando con los Rayados del Monterrey, donde jugó de 2000 al 2002.

Con Rayados entre el Invierno 2000 y Verano 2001 se consumó como goleador al marcar 21 anotaciones, lo que le abrió la puerta del Tri.

En México, jugó también para América, Pumas y Puebla, pero su carrera se caracterizó por ser un trotamundos.

Llegó a jugar en Colombia con el Once Caldas, en Brasil con el Santos, mientras que en España estuvo con el Polideportivo y el Villarreal.

En los últimos años estuvo en Turquía con el Gaziantepspor, Anakaraspor y Ankaragucu.

Descanse en paz Toño De Nigris.

Algún sabio alguna vez dijo: “Dios los hace, y ellos se juntan”… y esto no pudo ser más cierto el pasado 6 y 7 de Noviembre en el Palacio de los Deportes, donde cuales zombies sedientos de sesos, se juntaban más de 15,000 personas a festejar el primer evento oficial de Sony Playstation en México, conocido simplemente como “Conexión Playstation” y que para colmo de saturaciones, fue totalmente gratuito.

Durante años ha existido una “mas-o-menos-industria-conciente” del videojuego en México, para fortuna de todos los que gustamos de este caro pero divertido hobby, en los últimos años ha comenzado a tomar la seriedad que merece y hasta pareciera que en algunos momentos, somos tomados casi tan en serio como nuestros vecinos del norte o del lejano oriente.

El escenario donde los pesos pesados de Playstation estuvieron presentes...

Este fin de semana me quedo claro que al menos, el intento se está haciendo y vaya que fue un EXCELENTE intento que fue mucho más allá de intento y se consolidó como uno de los mejores, si no es que el mejor evento relacionado con videojuegos en el año!

Al ser un evento gratuito, la capacidad máxima del Pabellón Este del Palacio de los Deportes fue alcanzada en un parpadear y curiosamente, siempre se podía jugar algo sin esperar más de 5 minutos. Tal vez tenía que ver con las más de 200 pantallas y consolas que abarcaban todo el pabellón!

El lugar se llenó... rápido

Después de tomar un cargado café, decidimos poner las manos a la obra y empezar lo inevitable: jugar juegos… y vaya que había opciones de donde elegir!

No conformes con invadir el lugar con una interesante variedad de juegos ya lanzados y por ser lanzados el resto del año, cada juego tenía su zona temática y un ejército de edecánes animando a todos los presentes a jugar… algo completamente innecesario, pero bien recibido… digo, no todos los días te pide una chica guapa que tomes un Playstation para jugar.

Algunos de los juegos que se podían encontrar a lo largo de la expo eran: inFamous, Uncharted 2, Killzone 2, Little Big Planet, Ratchet and Clank, Pro Evolution Soccer 2010, Sing Star Latino y otros como FIFA 2010 y WWE SmackDown vs RAW 2010.

Una de las cosas más interesantes, fue ver el animo de los que asistieron al evento, que sin pensarlo dos veces, tomaban el primer control a la vista y se disponian a jugar, ya fuera en las pantallas verticales, asi como en las que estaban al nivel del suelo, donde comodamente se podía jugar sentado en una tabla sostenida por 2 tabiques.

Tras haber probado la mayoría de los juegos de la zona principal, nos dispusimos lo imposible. Ir a la zona de DEMOS. Cabe destacar que la cola para entrar a esta zona daba la vuelta completa al pabellón y el tiempo de espera podía variar entre 2 y 3 horas para jugar unos 5 minutos.

Y aunque la cola era comparable a cualquier juego de Six Flags, la meta valia la pena, ya que adelantados por meses, se podían jugar los demos de varios juegos exclusivos de PS3 como lo era el esperadísimo Heavy Rain, donde muy al estilo de la película “Seven”, podrás jugar la historia de 4 personajes que se ven envueltos en la búsqueda del “Asesino Origami” y donde cada decisión puede cambiar el juego completamente, teniendo como resultado una gran cantidad de posibilidades para desarrollar el juego cada vez que lo experimentes.

Y aunque muchos juegos prometen ese tipo de “diferentes caminos” mientras jugábamos en la zona de demos, nos percatamos de lo cierto que es esto, ya que aunque en 3 pantallas diferentes jugábamos todos el mismo demo, todos avanzabamos de forma distinta y la historia se desarrollaba de acuerdo a lo que cada uno iba haciendo en cada consola. Si eres fan del cine, este juego es EL juego!

Heavy Rain es en verdad un juego-película sin igual

Mientras Floppy obtenía un resultado, los de Cero Vida y Bajo Control veían distintas posibilidades

Una vez que Fernando trabo el demo, nos dimos a la tarea de experimentar con algo demasiado bizarro para ser cierto, pero demasiado cierto para terminar de ser bizarro…  me refiero a Eye Pet, el Tamagotchi del 2010. Y aunque lo podría explicar de varias maneras, creo que lo mejor es que ustedes lo vean por si mismos:

Una vez saciados de que Fernando dibujara un intento raro del batimóvil y yo controlara inútilmente su invento, decidimos intentar con coches de “verdad”, Gran Turismo nos ayudó a lograr esto.

Aunque est demo de Gran Turismo 5 aún era previo a la versión final que podremos gozar el próximo año. Aunque Fernando diga que Need For Speed está mejor por ahora, su cara no lo dejó mentir. Seguramente será de los primeros en tener este simulador automovilístico.

Antes de ser corridos para dar chance a otros de probar estos demos, pudimos darle una probadita al demo de God of War III, que sin lugar a dudas, es uno de los juegos más esperados del próximo año. Otros de los juegos que estaban disponibles eran MAG, White Knight Cronicles y Jak and Daxter.

Habiendo salido de la zona de demos, nos dispusimos a comer algo, pero como suele suceder, en el camino nos topamos con un repertorio de personajes que no podíamos dejar pasar. Ni modo, nos pidieron autógrafo y tuvimos que ceder.

Al estar comiendo unas ricas cemitas, nos dimos cuenta que la verdadera diversión estaba afuera, donde una gama interminable de personajes campechaneados de diversos videjuegos compartían los sagrados alimentos.

Como era de esperarse, el que resultó ser un antisocial de lo peor, fue Kratos (región 4) quien al igual que en la antigua Grecia, rellenaba su energía con una mítica Cemita Poblana.

El problema (como en toda comida) viene, cuando llega la enfermera diabólica y amenaza a todos y a todo en su camino…

La enfermera llego con la peor actitud... o no?

Y uno cree que tiene la vida comprada hasta el momento que se las ve de cerca… con el cuchillo de la enfermera diabólica claro esta. Y en esta ocasión, ni yo pude salvarme… es tentador querer morir en esas ocasiones. Pero sobreviví para contar esto.

Fue para nuestra fortuna que posteriormente nos enteramos que la diabólica enfermera de Silent Hill solo quería recuperar un poco de su reputación compitiendo en el concurso de Cosplay de ese día. Y vaya que dio batalla con un muy buen… o raro… o terrorífico show.

Y como todo buen concurso de Cosplay, hubieron quienes se lo tomaron bastante en serio, y la verdad, se les aplaude por pararse en frente de cientos de ñoños como nosotros y lucir, digamos… asi.

Y aunque se vivieron momentos de tensión para elegir a las ganadoras del concurso, al final, la decisión de los jueces llegó acompañada de un tremendo abucheo. Estas eran todas las participantes:

Y las tres ganadoras, teniendo como tercer lugar a la Enfermera acosadora de fans, en segundo lugar a un personaje de Dynasty Warriors y en el gran primer lugar (o al menos eso dicen ellos) a Harley Quinn de Batman Arkham Asylum. – Aunque todos queríamos a la Enfermera maldita como el primer lugar, tuvimos que aguantarnos.

Aunque no estuvimos muy de acuerdo con las ganadoras, si estuvimos de acuerdo en que la calidad de Cosplayers estuvo al mismo nivel que todo el evento. La lección que aprendimos: Mala idea acercarse a mujeres con cuchillos y espadas.

Fernando lo intentó... casi perdió la cabeza.

No quedará más que esperar al próximo año para que la justicia Cosplayera entre en acción, por ahora, Harley se llevó un PS3 nuevo y los espectadores un show que rayó entre interesante, bien armado y a veces…simplemente…raro.

Ganaste este año Harley... ya veremos el próximo.

Ya de salida del evento nos topamos con un Comando de Edecanes que no estaba dispuesto a dejar pasar esta oportunidad de tomarse una foto con el mítico equipo de Floppy. A lo cual gustosamente accedimos!

Al final del dia no queda más que decir que Playstation México ya es una realidad y este evento nos lo dejó clarísimo. Es un gusto que finalmente nos comiencen a tomar en serio como un mercado real! Las Crónicas Vicino y Floppy Radio le dan una estrellita en la frente y diez cerrado a Sony con este evento, que esperamos se vuelva tradición anual!

Gracias a Blanca y a todo el equipo de Sony por este súper evento!

Ah y porcierto, espero que quien se haya convertido en el nuevo dueño de mi iPod durante el evento, disfrute las canciones que este contenía. Y arda en el infierno mientras lo hace. Gracias. (Le recomiendo Dies Irae de Mozart para ambientar).

I was reading a needlework magazine. I would be looking at photos of the projects but not everything in the photo was a project in the magazine even though they could be. I wanted to know how to do that tablecloth or how to do something else in the picture. It got on my nerves. Now I don’t need to know how to do everything in the picture and it doesn’t bother me anymore. I have lots of magazines and books that can at least give me a clue on how to do what they didn’t tell you how to do.

My paternal grandmother had 9 children that survived so I had 18 aunts and uncles on that side. They all had lots of kids around 5 each, some less. So I had about 40 or so cousins. Anyway they had babies and my mom would knit or crochet the baby something. In the early 1960’s she knitted a bunch of baby ponchos in white pink and blue. This is what the poncho looked like.

 I hear a bunch of awwws and precious. I don’t have this pattern so I can’t knit one for you :( . I found it on the Internet. If you want to do a search it is a Columbia Minerva pattern from 1963 or in the 60’s anyway and the book/leaflet number is #2523.

  As you can see it had mitts and booties but mom didn’t do those, just the poncho. So, years later at a family reunion I was approached by my Aunt Zippy wanting to know if I could repair her poncho. I asked to look at it as I didn’t know. So she brought it out and I was able to fix it.

I have been very busy applying to jobs and going through boxes and throwing stuff out. Yeah I thought I threw it all out when I packed but I guess not.

I have stopped looking for work. I have been very busy. Earlier this week I got my once a month phone call for a job interview and I accepted it and made an appointment but later decided to call the dude up and cancel. I applied to the job like four weeks ago. Why interview this much later. In this economy surely they would have found someone right away.

I haven’t left the house in like two weeks or so until two days ago. Haven’t gotten dressed either, no need to, doing what I am doing. The only reason I need to leave the house is for groceries, gas and to mail the rent check.

I was so busy I forgot to vote. Ok now that you have all fainted, here is some smelling salts.

The economy was supposed to pick up this summer but so far it doesn’t look like it has. Matter of fact, it still looks like it is still on its way down. I hear rumors of people wanting to vote out all incumbents. People are mad as hell and aren’t going to take it any more.

What's the deal with this particular trash can?

Readers, meet Trash Can.

Second Floor Window sees a lot of action going down with this can.  You might ask yourselves, “What could be interesting about a trash can?”  No, Oscar the Grouch does not live in this particular can, but that would be awesome.  Nor is the can itself much to talk about – it’s just some concrete with an orange plastic bucket and a dented, removable (this is key) lid.  But despite its rather pedestrian credentials, the can is more than meets the eye. Today for instance, it was rummaged through no less than 4 times. There’s the typical search for bottles and cans to return for deposit (beer money), but the frequency of visits from a certain type of character points to something more nefarious. Are we dealing with a drug drop? Is it heroin or is it meth? This fine poncho-wrapped fellow opened the lid, grabbed something quickly, then disappeared from sight. We were lucky to get this picture – his speedy movements certainly point to meth.

Hello readers! This is my very first blog post on my very own blog (yay)! My blog will be about whatever I feel like writing that day. Feel free to comment and voice your opinions. I love to get feedback! Enjoy me loves!

Gosh it seems like it has been raining for eons. Not really but I like to over exaggerate  things from time to time. Although it has rained for quite sometime making it impossible to accomplish anything with the horses. AND throughly covering poor little Cisco in rain rot, it must be an age thing because Poncho went through the same thing when he was Cisco’s age. Any-who since the clouds have stopped pouring nasty cold rain when we trucked out to the barn we knew, we could finally DO SOMETHING! Well we thought we could do lots, but the arena was still muddy and Midnite isn’t know for her impeccable grace.

So we planned on giving everyone a nice long grooming session. YAY! Midnite was up first and I must say I was pleasantly surprised to find that she only has a few microscopic spec’s of rain rot. And that she is a total pig face. Every time you brush her she goes out and rolls, and when it rains she goes and looks for the muddiest spot to stop, drop, and roll in. HA. Also the new moisturizer I purchased about a week ago works phenomenally ALL the horses are sooo shiny and smooth from it. YIPPE FOR PRODUCTS THAT WORK. Moving onto Cisco, I was not quite sure what he was going to be like up at the barn considering the last two times he came up he got his feet trimmed and then he got a rain rot bath. BUT I was pleasantly surprised he stood perfectly still for his feet. He only got ancy when my mom went to spray him down with Micro-tek and the moisturizer. He’s a little bit icky though from all his rain rot and the desitin we put on it. Poncho was a character. He stages protests when there’s something new up at the barn and he just won’t move. SO about 5-10 minutes later we finally reach the post. YAY! He was of course a good boy for grooming. His right hind leg must be feeling better he didn’t protest as much when I picked his foot out. His rain rot is starting to go away. After his grooming was done I figured it was time for him to do a little bit of walking around the property since he can get  spooky. We ventured roughly 20 feet over to the front yard full of monstrous creatures from the rodeo that everyone got back from a few days ago. The trailer was open to. And it only took a few laps and him checking things out to get calm an plod along. GOOD BOY.

So that’s about it.
