Acontece que eu venho me deparando com campanhas publicitárias de um nível no mínimo bizarro, e o mais interessante é que ninguém fala nada, assiste a várias delas no intervalo de ‘Friends’ na Warner e tá tudo bem!

Mas NÃO!

Não para este que vos escreve.

O pior é que não estou falando apenas de uma propagandinha, mas sim de algumas campanhas, mas como diria Jack The Ripper, vamos por partes.

A primeira campanha que me chamou um pouco a atenção foi pelo fato de usar escovas de dente falantes. (¬¬)

Mas fora essa viagem devido ao consumo excessivo de LSD, as pessoas por traz desses briefings foram além, e começaram a fazer propagandas com conotações quase pornográficas. Quem ainda não viu a propaganda da Nova Colgate 360º Deep Clean (com serdas azuis super finas)? Bom resumidamente temos o enredo completo de um filme pornô no maior estilo Emanuelle do Cine Privê. Vou tentar descrever…

Chega uma escova-muher e pergunta para a porra da Nova Colgate 360º Deep Clean (com serdas azuis super finas) onde é que ela vai. (Eu já tô puto!) daí a escova-homem responde “Vou explorar TOOOODA a boca!” com um sotaque ao estilo Johnny Bravo, e então a escova-mina solta um gemido “Uuuuuaaaaauuuu!”  (depois entra um filminho explicando que não se trata de um filme porno e sim de uma escova de dentes e o que ela proporciona de limpeza para uma boca) só que daí para terminar a escova-pirigueti lança “nooooossa Nova Colgate 360º Deep Clean você realmente alcança todos os lugares!” (leia ‘todos os lugares’ como ‘ponto G’)

Tem também a propaganda do fã gay, não achei nenhuma versão em português dela, mas é basicamente uma escova-homem (pelo menos até então) que vê a nova Colgate XPTO aí ele começa a despirocar até que a sua namorada dá um pesco-tapa nele para ele parar de ser tão bichinha.

Fora essa ainda falta a outra campanha, que consiste basicamente em pessoas vestidas de dentistas, porém trabalhando como uma equipe de cinegrafistas, invadindo o banheiro de uma pessoa X ,que poderia muito bem ter acabado de dar uma cagada ou estar com aquela leve ereção matinal, e realizam uma entrevista/propaganda com o pobre coitado.

De verdade, quem ficaria feliz com uma situação dessas? Quem responderia a um questionário dentro do seu próprio banheiro??!?! Usando samba-canção?!?!

“Ada kesan, perintah menindak yang berulang-ulang disampaikan Soekarno di tahun 1965 itu memang tidak ditindaklanjuti, atau bahkan mungkin memang tidak untuk betul-betul dilaksanakan. KETIKA Brigjen Soedirgo menghadap lagi 26 September 1965, kembali Soekarno mengatakan telah memerintahkan Brigjen Sabur dan Brigjen Sunarjo untuk mengambil tindakan dan memerintahkan Soedirgo membantu. ”Saya percaya kepada Corps Polisi Militer”, ujar Soekarno. Terlihat betapa selama berminggu-minggu, persoalan berputar-putar pada lapor melapor tentang adanya jenderal-jenderal yang tidak loyal dan setiap kali Presiden Soekarno pun mengeluarkan perintah penindakan.

Namun, rencana penindakan itu seakan jalan di tempat. Barulah pada tanggal 29 September, tampaknya ada sesuatu yang dapat dianggap lebih konkret, dengan munculnya Brigjen Mustafa Sjarif Soepardjo melaporkan kepada Soekarno kesiapan ‘pasukan’ yang dikoordinasi Pangkopur II dari Kalimantan ini untuk segera bertindak terhadap para jenderal yang tidak loyal tersebut.

Menurut kesaksian Kolonel KKO Bambang Setijono Widjanarko, dalam pertemuan pukul 11 pagi itu, selain Brigjen Soepardjo hadir pula Panglima Angkatan Udara Laksamana Madya Omar Dhani, yang menyatakan kesediaannya membantu. Akan tetapi, kesaksian ini dibantah Omar Dhani, karena sewaktu ia menghadap Soekarno, ia tidak melihat kehadiran Soepardjo di istana. Artinya, mereka menghadap pada jam yang berbeda. Omar Dhani sepanjang yang diakuinya, datang melaporkan kepada Presiden Soekarno tentang kedatangan sejumlah besar pasukan dari daerah –Jawa Timur, Jawa Tengah dan Jawa Barat– ke Jakarta dengan alasan untuk kepentingan Hari Ulang Tahun Angkatan Bersenjata 5 Oktober, yang dianggapnya aneh karena diperlengkapi peralatan tempur garis pertama. Selain itu, ia justru telah menugaskan Letnan Kolonel Heru Atmodjo yang menghadap di kediamannya pada pukul 16.00 Kamis 30 September 1965 untuk menemui Brigjen Soepardjo dan meminta keterangan rencana dan tujuan sebenarnya dari gerakan yang akan dilakukan Soepardjo di ibukota negara seperti yang dilaporkan oleh Asisten Direktur Intelijen AU itu.

Akhirnya, darah mengalir. Perintah-perintah penyelidikan dan penindakan yang diberikan Presiden Soekarno kepada beberapa jenderal yang dianggapnya setia kepadanya, seperti yang terlihat dari rangkaian fakta, pada mulanya memang seperti berputar-putar saja tanpa hasil konkrit. Pulang-pergi, jenderal-jenderal seperti Brigjen Sjafiuddin, Mayjen Mursjid, lalu Brigjen Sabur, Brigjen Soenarjo hingga Brigjen Soedirgo, hanyalah melakukan serangkaian panjang ‘akrobat’ lapor melapor yang intinya hanyalah konfirmasi bahwa memang benar ada sejumlah jenderal yang tidak loyal yang merencanakan semacam tindakan makar terhadap Soekarno. Ketika Soekarno menanyakan kesediaan mereka untuk menghadapi para jenderal tidak loyal itu, mereka selalu menyatakan kesediaannya. Begitu pula sewaktu Soekarno memberikan penugasan, mereka selalu menyatakan kesiapan, namun persiapannya sendiri tampaknya jalan di tempat. Brigjen Sabur misalnya menyatakan, persiapannya perlu waktu dan harus dilakukan dengan teliti.

Brigjen Soedirgo yang dalam kedudukannya selaku Komandan Corps Polisi Militer kelihatannya diharapkan menjadi ujung tombak pelaksanaan –yang juga belum jelas bagaimana cara dan bentuknya– sama sekali belum menunjukkan kesiapan. Apakah penindakan itu nantinya berupa penangkapan oleh Polisi Militer, lalu diperhadapkan kepada Soekarno? Semuanya belum jelas. Akan tetapi dalam pada itu, melalui Brigjen Sabur, dana dan fasilitas berupa kendaraan baru dan sebagainya, telah mengalir kepada Brigjen Soedirgo. Hanya urusan uang dan fasilitas itu yang merupakan kegiatan yang jelas saat itu.

Karir Brigjen Soedirgo selanjutnya cukup menarik. Oktober 1966, setelah Soeharto mulai memegang ‘sebagian’ kekuasaan negara selaku pemegang Surat Perintah 11 Maret 1966, adalah Soeharto sendiri yang menarik Soedirgo menjadi Deputi KIN (Komando Intelijen Negara). Mei 1967 KIN ini dilebur menjadi Bakin (Badan Koordinasi Intelijen Negara), dan cukup menakjubkan bahwa Soeharto yang telah memegang kekuasaan negara sepenuhnya menggantikan Soekarno, malah mengangkat Soedirgo yang sudah berpangkat Mayor Jenderal menjadi Kepala Bakin yang bermarkas di Jalan Senopati di Kebayoran Baru Jakarta Selatan. Agaknya Soeharto memiliki kebutuhan khusus dari Soedirgo yang di tahun 1965 mendapat perintah menindaki para jenderal yang tidak loyal. Akan tetapi, 21 Nopember 1968, Soeharto memerintahkan pencopotan Soedirgo dari jabatannya di badan intelijen dan setelah itu Soedirgo dimasukkan tahanan. Bersama Soedirgo, beberapa jenderal lain yang di tahun 1965 menjadi lingkaran dalam Soekarno,juga dikenakan penahanan. “Gajah tidak pernah lupa”, kata pepatah. Sebagai pengganti Soedirgo, Soeharto mengangkat lingkaran dalamnya sejak periode Divisi Diponegoro di Jawa Tengah, Yoga Soegama yang kala itu sudah berpangkat Letnan Jenderal.

Ada kesan, perintah menindak yang berulang-ulang disampaikan Soekarno di tahun 1965 itu memang tidak ditindaklanjuti, atau bahkan mungkin memang tidak untuk betul-betul dilaksanakan. Jadinya, perintah untuk bertindak kepada tiga Brigadir Jenderal itu berfungsi seakan-akan sekedar bluffing, yang diharapkan sampai ke telinga para jenderal lain. Kalau suatu tindakan, melalui trio Sabur-Sunarjo-Soedirgo memang betul dimaksudkan untuk dilaksanakan, perintah untuk itu semestinya disampaikan tidak di hadapan khalayak yang cukup banyak untuk ukuran keamanan suatu perintah rahasia. Soekarno pasti tahu itu.

Namun sementara itu, perintah serupa yang disampaikan Soekarno kepada Letnan Kolonel Untung Sjamsuri, 4 Agustus 1965, yang diketahui oleh sedikit orang saja, justru menggelinding. Penyampaian Soekarno kepada Untung ini sedikit tenggelam oleh ‘insiden’ pingsannya Soekarno pagi itu, tak begitu lama setelah pertemuan. Bahkan, fakta pingsannya Soekarno ini, di kemudian hari menimbulkan keraguan apakah betul Untung hari itu memang bertemu dan mendapat perintah dari Soekarno. Tetapi faktanya, segera setelah kepada Untung oleh Soekarno ditanyakan kesediaan dan kesiapannya untuk bertindak menghadapi para jenderal yang tidak loyal yang tergabung dalam apa yang dinamakan Dewan Jenderal, ia ini segera menghubungi Walujo dan menceritakan permintaan Soekarno kepadanya. Walujo, orang ketiga dalam Biro Khusus –Biro Chusus– PKI, lalu meneruskan perkembangan ini kepada Sjam orang pertama Biro Khusus.

Sjam Kamaruzzaman sendiri, setidaknya sejak bulan Agustus itu juga telah punya point-point mengenai situasi yang dihadapi, terkait dengan kepentingan partai dan sebagai hasil diskusinya dengan kalangan terbatas pimpinan partai. Khusus mengenai Letnan Kolonel Untung, baru bisa dibicarakan Sjam dengan Aidit, sepulangnya Ketua Umum CC PKI itu dari Peking. Dan rapat terbatas membahas munculnya sayap militer itu serta perkembangan terbaru sepulangnya Aidit dari Peking itu mulai dilakukan pada 9 Agustus.

Rapat pertama Biro Khusus PKI dengan Letnan Kolonel Untung, secara serius mulai dilakukan 6 September 1965 di Jakarta. Dari Biro Khusus hadir orang kesatu dan kedua, Sjam dan Pono. Sedang para perwira militer yang hadir selain Letnan Kolonel Untung, adalah Kolonel Abdul Latief, Mayor Inf Agus Sigit serta seorang perwira artileri Kapten Wahjudi –yang rumah kediamannya dijadikan tempat rapat malam itu– serta seorang perwira Angkatan Udara Mayor Sujono, komandan Pasukan Pertahanan Pangkalan Halim Perdanakusumah. Mendapat uraian dari Sjam Kamaruzzaman mengenai situasi terakhir negara, serta adanya sejumlah jenderal yang tergabung dalam Dewan Jenderal  yang akan mengambilalih kekuasaan dari tangan Presiden Soekarno, para perwira menengah itu menyepakati suatu rencana gerakan penangkalan.

Seluruhnya, dengan berganti-ganti tempat, termasuk di kediaman Sjam di Salemba Tengah, hingga tanggal 29 September berlangsung sepuluh pertemuan. Hampir sepenuhnya pertemuan-pertemuan itu berisi rancangan gerakan militer, karena sejak awal mereka sepakat bahwa aspek politik dan ideologis ditangani oleh Sjam dan Pono saja. Rangkaian pertemuan itu pun praktis tak memiliki persentuhan yang nyata dengan PKI, terkecuali kehadiran Sjam dan Pono dari Biro Khusus. Secara berurutan, setelah pertemuan pertama 6 September, berlangsung pertemuan kedua 9 September, ketiga 13 September, keempat 15 September, kelima 17 September, keenam 19 september, ketujuh 22 September, kedelapan 24 September, kesembilan 26 September dan kesepuluh 29 September 1965.

Sampai pertemuan keempat di rumah Kolonel Latief, belum terkonfirmasikan dengan jelas pasukan-pasukan mana yang bisa diikutsertakan dalam gerakan. Barulah pada pertemuan kelima, juga di rumah Kolonel Latief, mulai tergambarkan dengan lebih jelas komposisi pasukan yang bisa diharapkan, yang seluruhnya menurut perhitungan Letnan Kolonel Untung, hampir setara dengan satu divisi. Disebutkan kekuatan yang akan dikerahkan terdiri dari Batalion 530 dari Divisi Brawijaya, Batalion 454 dari Divisi Diponegoro, satu batalion dari Brigif I Kodam Jaya yang dijanjikan Kolonel Latief, satu kompi dari satuan Tjakrabirawa di bawah Letnan Kolonel Untung sendiri, satu kompi di bawah Kapten Wahjudi serta 1000 orang sukarelawan yang telah dilatih oleh Mayor Sujono di daerah Lubang Buaya. Penetapan D-Day dipengaruhi oleh laporan Mayor Sujono bahwa 1000 sukarelawan yang dilatihnya masih memerlukan waktu setidaknya sepuluh hari agar mencapai tingkat combat ready. Faktor lain, karena Letnan Kolonel Untung merasa masih ada kekurangan, dan untuk itu ia mengharapkan adanya satu kesatuan kavaleri dengan 30 tank atau panser. Untung mengharapkan bantuan itu datang dari Divisi Siliwangi, setelah ia mendengar laporan Sjam tentang keberhasilan memperoleh ‘dukungan’ dari Brigjen Rukman, Kepala Staf Kodam Siliwangi.

Tanpa menyebutkan nama, pada pertemuan keenam di rumahnya, Sjam menyebutkan adanya dukungan seorang jenderal terhadap gerakan ini. Dan pada pertemuan ketujuh, 22 September, ditetapkan pembagian tugas per pasukan yang diberi penamaan Pasopati, Bhimasakti dan Gatotkaca. Tugas yang paling khusus, ‘penjemputan’ para jenderal target, diserahkan kepada Pasopati.

Penetapan rencana pembentukan Dewan Revolusi dilakukan dalam pertemuan kedelapan, 24 September, di rumah Sjam. Pertemuan yang terjadi tujuh hari sebelum 1 Oktober 1965 itu, termasuk pertemuan penting karena di situ perencanaan makar mencapai puncaknya dengan kehadiran lengkap seluruh pendukung gerakan dan tercapainya kesepakatan pembentukan Dewan Revolusi. Semula nama yang dipilih adalah Dewan Militer, tetapi menurut Sjam, Aidit berkeberatan dan mengusulkan penggunaan nama Dewan Revolusi agar cakupannya lebih luas, tidak terdiri dari kalangan militer saja. Semula, dalam Dewan Militer, selain nama para perwira pelaksana gerakan, disebutkan nama dua panglima angkatan, yakni Laksamana Madya Udara Omar Dhani dan Laksamana Madya Laut RE Martadinata. Itulah pertama kali nama Aidit  dikaitkan dengan gerakan, meskipun hanya melalui ucapan Sjam, tapi sejauh hingga saat itu, Aidit tak pernah hadir dalam pertemuan.

Title: Pono

Thoughts:

As much as I would love to, I can’t speak or understand Hawaiian, even though I try at times. However, after spending time in the islands, one finds that there are certain endearing words that everyone knows. One of those words that captures my heart is pono. Though it may not always be translated the same way in every English sentence, pono carries the sense of uprightness, righteousness, or proper procedure. My summary of  the word is it’s just what is right and whatever that might be for the given situation.

When I read Paul’s letter to Philemon, this word pono comes to mind. The shortest of Paul’s letters, and one of his most personal letters, Philemon stands as Paul’s request to a believer named Philemon to do what is right concerning his runaway slave Onesimus. Though Paul could demand Philemon’s cooperation and compliance, he understood the heart and the intention of the one of whom he was making his request.

This small New Testament book serves to remind us that doing the right thing does not always have to come as a demand or the result of an authoritative position. In this sense, Paul trusted Philemon and placed great faith and responsibility into his hands concerning Onesimus. In Hawaiian terminology, Paul asked Philemon to exercise pono and to do what he knew was right, even though it was probably a difficult request for Philemon.

The idea of grace is that we shouldn’t have to always refer to a specific law in order to do what is right. The intention of grace is that we do what is right because it’s the right thing to do. What a freedom to be exercised when we begin to truly do the right thing without having to be demanded to do it. Now, that’s pono.

Application:

Which do you find to be your modus operandi: You do the right thing when told to do so, or the structure is in place to guide you to do so? Or, you do the right thing regardless ,because it’s the right thing to do?

When has someone given you the opportunity to do the right thing, rather than demanding you to do so?

What opportunities do you have before you today that you know you need to do the right thing? How will you approach them?

Father,

I thank You for grace. When You had every right to demand so many things from me, You have extended grace to me. I know that You have placed laws in my life to guide me into Your will. However, I want to walk in grace, fulfilling Your Word because it is right, not because I have to. Help me to live righteously in Christ Jesus today.

Pono’s art teacher submitted one of his pieces to the MOA art contest. For the 5th grade, KS took first -third place: Pono 3rd, Mykala Tokunaga 2nd, Zoe Azevedo 1st.

Pono entered his first paddleboard competition, the 1st annual Hoekai stand up paddleboard race and won in the 11 and under division with a time of 12 minutes and 48 seconds.  I was in Maui supervising band kids, but according to Ken, he was way in front and probably could have competed in the 12-14 division.

The course was a little over a mile with two buoys to go around and return to shore.  Itʻs a short clip, but if you don’t blink, he’s the one out in front, and then it goes back to the other kids.

The following composition is from one of my 9th grade Latin 1 students.  While he is not at “the head of the class” academically, this focused student has taken a topic that he cares a lot about and created a very worthwhile “Latin IS English” composition that would rival many, if not most, 9th grade level writings.  See if you don’t agree.  The colored words represent his Latin root definitions that flow into English as “derivatives.”  The “grey” words are other words that we, as a class, discovered as having their foundations in Latin.  For a PDF of the same, click here, or from one of the three sidebar locations where this post is filed.

WRC: World Rally Championship

As three time rally champion Ken Block stepped into his Subaru Impreza WRX STi, he knew that today’s racing was going to be magnificent (magnus), although he was unaware of how great a challenge this particular course would present.  Ken situated himself into the bucket seat of his Impreza, a car that meets all safety laws, and is therefore street legal (lex, legis).  The Impreza is what is known as a homologation, that is, a car sold in limited quantities to the public for the sole purpose of qualifying it for the production class of rally racing.  The bucket seats in the said car utilize (utilis) a five-point harness, much like what would be seen in a jet, practical for keeping the driver safe and secure during intense racing and the inevitable (in + evito) rollovers associated (socius) with such racing.  To those not familiar with rally racing, the Subaru Impreza WRX STi’s name may seem to be random, jumbled letters; a closer look reveals what these designations (de + signum) denote (de + noto).  The WRX part of the Impreza’s name (nomen) is based upon its nomenclature as a rally vehicle, WRX being a slight distortion (de + torqueo…tortus) of WRC (World Rally Championship).  STi stands for Subaru Technical International, a sort of in-house tuning and racing team run by Subaru.

Anyway, back to the moment at hand.  Ken Block started the Impreza, heard the engine sputter as it attempted to fire, and was then rewarded with the blasting, guttural sound of the 307HP, turbocharged boxster engine roaring to life.  As the engine settled to an idle, the noise subsided (sub + sido) to a smooth, droning thrum.  All around him engines started adding their exhaust (ex + haurio…haustus) note to the clamor (clamor), the noise growing to the point that technicians had to shout to be heard.  As his spotter climbed into the passenger seat, Ken knew it was about time to start the race.  A spotter sits in the passenger seat and calls out the type of turn that is coming up, and how to best go about it (whether that means executing a heel-and-toe maneuver or any number of other techniques).  The spotter also monitors (moneo…monitus) the road, warning the driver of any peril (periculum) that could put him in danger.

Ken was suddenly brought back to reality, he had been preoccupied (occupo) again, but now his attention (teneo…tentus) was seized by the timer, counting down until the race started.  He glanced over and scoffed at the Ford Cosworth next to him.  Although the driver of the Cosworth did not show any signs of fear, Ken liked to imagine he intimidated (timeo) the driver.  On his other side was a Mitsubishi Lancer Evo, slightly more distinguished, nonetheless something of very little concern (cerno).  He smiled as he grabbed hold of the shifter, confident (cum + fido) in both his driving prowess and the car he had the honor of driving.  The seconds counted down, and Ken tuned out the other engines humming and revving around him.  When the timer hit zero, he accelerated (celer) the vehicle, swiftly working his way through the gears.  As Ken secured a comfortable third place position, he noticed amusedly that he was sending a spray of gravel onto the hood of the god-awful Cosworth behind him.

As with most rallies, this one started off on an earthen road covered with gravel, but would quickly progress into multiple types of terrain (terra).  Ken’s spotter called out an upcoming turn, vocalizing (voco) what Ken was already preparing for in his mind.  It was a long, sweeping left turn that was difficult to carry speed through, that is while going straight.  Ken counted his heart beats as he approached the turn, seemingly in slow motion.  Then, with refined skill, he quickly goosed the brake pedal, downshifted into fourth gear, and smashed the gas pedal into the floor.  This pitched the car sideways, allowing Ken to position (pono…positus) the car in such a way that all he had to do was keep the engine redlining and the front tires counter (contra)-steering heavily to carry the most possible speed through the turn.  The engine gurgled in protest to the complicated (cum + plico) maneuver, threatening to bog down from the improper balance of its fuel to air ratio.  Just when it seemed it would stall, the reassuring whistle of the turbocharger spooling up, followed by the considerably more reassuring rush of the turbo (turbo) roaring to life, brought the engine back to a safe RPM, enabling Ken to complete (compleo…completus) the run with an over-confident application (ab + plico) of the throttle upon exiting the turn.  He noted with a smirk that, so well executed was his pendulum (pendulum) turn he was now able to make the Citroen in front of him give away its second place position.  As the comical-looking, European car receded (cedo…cedere) behind him, Ken set his sights on the last car he would need to overtake: a Mitsubishi Lancer Evo.  Ken could barely see the Lancer, but it was just visible (video…visi) disappearing around corners ahead of him.  The Lancer in front of him, recklessly flying into turns and taking the chicanes dangerously fast, was attempting desperately (de + spero) to guard the gap between itself and Ken.  Ken knew with some careful driving the Lancer would not be able to preserve (servo) its lead, for they were approaching a section of the track primarily composed (cum + pono…positus) of mud; a section where the Impreza’s superior (supero), triple differential all wheel drive system would easily surpass the Lancer’s.  Ken was thrown against his harness as his car quickly decelerated in the mud.  A quick downshift got the car moving along at a decent clip, although the engine chugged apprehensively (ab + prehendo…prehensus) under the toil of spinning all four tires in the thick mud.  Ken realized how much heat such a laborious (laboro) task would generate (gens), but the engine was intercooled, and would hold out at least till the end of the race.  Glancing ahead, Ken noticed the Lancer’s driver had, most likely out of desperation, gone down to second gear-maybe even first-and as a consequence (cum + sequor), was doing nothing but spinning his tires in the thick mire.  Ken knew this was quite possibly the only chance he would get to gain the lead, so he got on the throttle and let the boxer engine sing its song.  The Lancer drew nearer as the taste of victory grew sweeter in Ken’s mouth.  He would pass him any second.

I’ve always been a sucker for charities. SCUBA Demo Day at UHH Student Life Center

The UHH Resident Life Program teamed up with the Student Life Center to hold a SCUBA Demo Day this past Saturday. The idea was to give students a chance to try SCUBA before making the decision of whether or not to get certified. They let me bring Pono and he and I got to go swim around the bottom of the pool for a while (I already have my SCUBA certification). Pono had fun but he has to wait a little while before he can get his PADI Jr. Open Water certification (have to be 12).

(For the math peeps, a league is 3 miles on land or 3 nautical miles (3.452 miles) for nautical measures. The shallow end where the pic was taken is about 4 feet deep. So 3.452 miles/league times 5280 feet/mile equals 18226.56 feet/league. So 4 feet divided by 18226.56 feet/league equals the title of this post.)

Paddling in Hilo Bay. After work, Pono and I went paddling, I haven’t taken a camera before and it was fun trying to stay still while taking the picture.

Rok 2008 był dziwnym rokiem. W pierwszej chwili nie potrafiłem sobie przypomnieć żadnej topowej płyty, która by mną solidnie trząchnęła, przybiła do podłogi i skazała na dożywocie. Podobnie singlowo – nie pamiętałem, by cokolwiek latało na ripicie 24/7. Dopiero po chwili przeglądania last.fm i iTunes przypomniałem sobie że to, o i to, i to w sumie też. Ej, ale to było zajebiste. Dobra, kochanie, ścisz na chwilę telewizor. In my mind I’m breeding butterflies, broken dreams, and alibis that’s fiiiiiiiiiiiine. Ej, a to? Kiiiiiiiiiim and Jeeeeesssie! “KURWA WEŹ SOBIE SŁUCHAWKI!” Dobra. W każdym razie, jednak trochę tego było.

Najpierw płytowo. W kwestii świat – trzecie miejsce ex aequo zajmują weteran Maxio Tundra i debiutant Juvelen. Wiadomym było, że skoro Jacobs wydaje nową płytę po raz pierwszy od lat sześciu, to szumu narobi więcej niż szynszyl na białym podczas orgietki z paniami szynszylami. I stało się, zgarnął brąz w kategorii płyta roku i złoto singlowe, ale o tym za chwilę. Juvelen zachwycił mnie już w zeszłym roku swoją epką, a, że długogrająco wydał się dopiero w tym to chętnie wcisnę go na podium. Chudy chłopak jest, to się koło Tundry zmieści. Nagrał naście najbardziej jacksonowych kawałków since Beck’s “Debra” i miecie.

Drugie miejsce dla tych, którzy są w szczytowym momencie swojej kariery i mieli nagrać płytę roku, a, że nie nagrali, to są na drugim. TV on the Radio i “Dear Science”. Płyta bardzo dobra, momentami genialna, ogólnie wysoki poziom wpytowości utrzymany. Drugie miejsce z żalu, że nie jest lepsza. Że nie nagrali swojego “Revolver”. A mogli.

Pierwsze miejsce, ladies and gentleman – M83, Saturdays = Youth. Płyta wakacji, płyta roku and so on. Najczęściej odsłuchiwany przeze mnie album miesięcy letnich, a że miesiące letnie są najfajniejsze, to zasłużenie na pierwszym miejscu.

1. M83 – Saturdays = Youth

Longplay, a sprawa polska. Niczego topowego w tym roku nie było, więc nagrody zostały przyznane za albumy przyzwoite. Bez zbędnego rozwodzenia się i długich pożegnań. Trzecie miejsce – Cool Kids of Death z “Afterparty”. Przede wszystkim za udany comeback po słabej trzeciej płycie, słuszną zmianę stylu i ogólnie niezłe kawałki. Cała alternatywna Polska chodzi i nuci “Nagle Zapomnieć Wszystko”. Fajnie.

Miejsce drugie – O.S.T.R. To Ostry, prawda? Prawda.

Złoto zgarnia Afro Kolektyw. Rzutem na taśmę, poza tym zapunktowali, bo się na koncert niedawno wybrałem i mnie Afro po bucie pomiział. “:*” Mężczyźni są odrażająco brudni i źli.

Pozostając jeszcze na chwilę przy płytach – najgorszy album roku. Subiektywnie, bo pewnie było w tym roku dużo gorszych, ale te mnie zdecydowanie najbardziej wkurwiały.

Świat – “Viva la Vida“. No sory. Coldplay zafundował flaki z olejem, a w radiu lecą nonkurwastop. Na te smyki reaguję agresją, pianą z pyska i wydzieliną z nosa. Zgińcie.

Polska – “Out of Tune“. PRZECIĘTNIACTWO. Nie, Ałtofsi nie są zajebiści. Eryczek nie jest cool. Mam nadzieję, że to ich ostatnia płyta, bo niestety nie są “Killer Pop Machine”. A fanów mają nawet bardziej denerwujących niż Coma, a to sztuka.

Tym miłym akcentem kończymy sprawę płyt, a przechodzimy do singli.

Najniższy stopień podium w kategorii “Świat” dla Neon Neon. Bezczelnie eightiesowy singiel zjadł mi pół wiosny, a i teraz chętnie do niego wracam. Poza tym to tribute dla pierwszej ofiary Gwiazdy Śmierci, więc od razu miał plusa. Told her on Alderaaaaaan….

Drugie miejsce, niespodziewanie i totalnie z zaskoczenia. Eee? Ta pizda z MTV? Tajest, ta pizda z MTV. Mówcie co chcecie, ale kawałek nuci się sam, każdy go zna, a Rihanna to fajna sucz. “Disturbia” zaskoczyła mnie gdzieś w barze i zjadła mnie na śniadanie bambambirambam. Do tego tłuściutki bicik i nośny refren, czego chcieć więcej.

Miejsce pierwsze wspomniane już wcześniej, Max Tundra i jego absolutnie genialne “Which Song”. Wydawałoby się, że takie połączenie melodii i połamanego rytmu jest absolutnie nie-możliwe/wykonalne/prawdopodobne/etc. Ale Tundra potrafi, nagrywa i funduje niejako bonusowo tekst równie zabawny i bezpretensjonalny jak u Russian Futursits. Zdecydowane zwycięstwo, Jacobs cieszył się już na kilkanaście metrów przed metą, rekord świata pobity bez wysiłku.

W kwestii polskiej, mamy co następuje. Brązowy medal zawisł na szyi, zawistne spojrzenie kieruje się na wyższe stopnie podium, ale niestety, nie dało się. OSTR i “1980″, zaraz chyba połamie skrzypce na głowie zwycięzcy. W swoich pierwszych Jordanach chciał latać ku niebu, ale nie tym razem.

Drugie miejsce, ale chłopak jak dąb, więc i tak ma się wrażenie, że stoi wyżej od złotego medalisty. Afro, a zaraz za nim cały zespół i “Chcę umrzeć zagłaskany na śmierć.” Bóg Ojciec, Syn Boży, Duch Święty i AfroJax. Ehe. No i Wiraszko z Maciejewskim na ficzeringu.

Złoty medalista może być tylko jeden – “Brał Cię w Aucie”. No bo sory, ale czy była w tym roku popularniejsza piosenka, którą nuciłby KAŻDY? Genialny pastiż, świetny background lat dziewięćdziesiątych i Franek Kimono. Do tego refren catchy jak jasna cholera. Ja wysiadam, moje dziecko będzie znało ten kawałek z radia.

Najgorszy singiel roku. Drażliwa kategoria, zaraz wyrzucę radio za okno. Szybka piłka, bo nie bardzo chce mi się już pisać. Świat – dowolny singiel z nowego Coldplaya. Nie wiem ile ich było, wszystkie brzmią tak samo i tak samo denerwują. Polska – Video i Ania Wyszkoni – “Soft”. No kurwa. Hej hej. Zresztą cały zespół Video i jego “Wciągasz jak wideo gra” czy “Weź nie pierdol bejbe” to temat na felieton o zdecydowanie negatywnym wydźwięku. Boże, widzisz i nie grzmisz.

Eventy. W tym roku obrodziło nam koncertami w naszym kraju, ale skupmy się na najważniejszych. Najlepszym wydarzeniem roku był zdecydowanie OFF Festival. Za Of Montreal, czy Mogwai byłem w stanie zapłacić dużo więcej, a Rojek zafundował mi oba za cenę jednodniowego biletu. Brawo. A pomyśleć, że jeszcze dwa lata temu śmiałem się, kiedy takie zespoły pojawiały się w ankietach “Kogo Rojek ściągnie na OFFa.” Zwracam honor.

Największe rozczarowanie – Heineken “Wyzysk” Open’er Festival, Heineken “Zbieramy śmieci” Open’er Festival, Heineken “To już było” Open’er Festival. Ceny biletów poszły w górę, a organizatorzy nie ściągnęli żadnego wymiatacza. Kogoś na poziomie Bjork, Beastie Boys czy Sonic Youth sprzed dwóch lat. Zamiast tego pozbierano wykonawców, którzy występowali już w naszym kraju i to wcale nie tak dawno. Wszyscy, Roisin, Editors, Jay-Z, Badu, Cocrosie, Goldfrapp, Massive Attack, Interpol są nieźli, nawet bardzo dobrzy, ale, cholera, TO JUŻ BYŁO. A nie było gwiazd. Że o tym nieśmiesznym żarcie z Sex Pistols nie wspomnę. A wystarczyło ściągnąć Modestów. Albo Radiohead.
